Snowy Heights Almost Finished Now!

Hi Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly & Snowflake back with you again!

What a night! As it was Snowflake's first night in Snowy Heights we had a House Warming Party, well, Holly, Snowflake and me! We were up until late, singing dancing and watching Snowflake try out the Pipes and Ladders. At one time Snowflake went Whizzzzzz down the top pipe and landed in the Poo Pot and it went all over the place!

So, first thing Old Two Legs had to clean it all up and make a couple of changes to the layout that Snowflake had put on the 'Snag List'!

We then went out for our morning stroll, it was noticeably colder this morning and although there was very little wind, you certainly noticed the chill. It was also misty, that sort of YUK mist that freezes your nose when you take a deep sniff!

Another Misty Morning!
Old Two Legs was keen to try to capture the mist with the Medway Fort in the estuary, mmm, OK but not brilliant, well we've seen better!

Mmm, seen better!
Back home OTL finished off Snowy Heights and rearranged the hammock,  Snowflake is still not too sure about curling up in it for a snooze, but, she tried it out and when OTL put her food in, she found an quick way down, a sort of 'Free Fall' and jumping off the pipe to land almost on top of the food bowl!

The rest of the day has been spent snoozing while OTL has cleared up all of his jobs that have been put off while we settle Snowflake into her house!

All this paperwork is really boring so we managed to sleep through all of it! Snowflake is a real expert at snoozing!

An Expert!
Lunchtime it was not as misty but still cold and we hear that it's going to get colder as well! Brrrrr!

On our walk we had a sniff around for rabbits but they were all sleeping in their warm burrows!

Me doing a Pointer!
I was practising doing a Barney, that is, when you spot something that is of interest, you lift one leg and point with your nose.

Barney does it better!

Holly was more interested in reading the news from the all the posts on the beach and woofing at a seagull!

Reading The News!
Back home we spent the afternoon snoozing, well, I couldn't use the laptop 'cos OTL was playing and since Snowy Heights has gone up, there is just not enough room in the office so we have got some rearranging of the bits so that we can all walk in and out without falling over each other!

It will all happen in time!

Right, we are off to have a go at mugging OTL for some of his dinner!

Tomorrow, we are up early 'cos it is the 'Shampoo & Set' first thing followed by The Vet for our yearly check-up and booster injections. I hate it, injections and vets, I always get hurt when I go there, so until we are on our way home I'm not going to be a 'Happy Puppy'!

See you!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly & Snowflake (Still snoozing)

It's All Go Today for OTL!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly & Snowflake here again!

What a day, first of all we were out early with Old Two Legs down to The Sea Wall. On our way down to the Sea Wall it started to rain, that misty sort of rain that creeps up on you and soaks your tail if your not careful!

The tide was in when we got down there so OTL had to be careful how he threw the ball or it would end up in the sea that would be the last we see of it!

Aw, Go one then, toss the ball!
Holly even joined in the game of chase 'cos OTL had to toss it a short distance so that means Holly doesn't have to run too much to get the ball!

I got a bit fed up 'cos when Holly got the ball she dropped it off the Sea Wall!

Well, if you won't get it then OTL will have to get it!
We came across a fisherman and Holly said we can sneak up on him and surprise him with a big Woof!
Let's sneak up and woof!
Holly sneezed and he turned around!

Curses, he's seen us!
Holly had a sniff around the box but couldn't sniff any sandwiches and she didn't fancy the coffee either!
No Food here!
Back home OTL had to cut all the branches off the tree that's digging holes in the roofing felt, First of all he had the ladder the wrong way around and it slipped down bruising his shins! Then he climbed onto the roof, sat there and trimmed the tree, trouble was the roof was wet and he got a very wet backside!

It was just after he had finished the tree when the Ferret Tower arrived! Well, poor OTL spent all afternoon building Snowflakes house, it's enormous!

Snowflake was sitting on top of the freezer giving OTL instructions whilst having fun playing in the cardboard boxes!

Look! I'm swimming on my back!
Then Snowflake started to have a close look at OTL's pictures and she started to point out the ones she would like to be hung in her new home!

Can you get this one in the lounge?
It was exhausting work giving instruction and so Snowflake had to have a rest with my squeaky toy which she thinks is a rabbit or rat and she loves fighting it!

Let me know when you get the next wall up!
It was late this afternoon by the time Snowy Heights was finished, well it needs some adjustments 'cos Snowflake is not too sure how to get from one floor to the other, even if OTL shoves her up the tubes!

Well, sort of finished but it need some adjustments!
I must admit, it is HUGE, I reckon Snowflake could live on the top floor and Holly and me could take over the bottom floors!

The hammock swinging from the ceiling has been tested by Snowflake but she is not too sure if it is really her!

So much to explore and sort out!
So, for now, she is living on the middle floor with her food and water and poo pot and we will have to wait until she decides on where she wants the furniture!

We have put the bedding from the carry cage, in the shower, into the middle floor as well so she feels comfortable and at the moment she is fast asleep on her back, snoring, just like OTL does!

Turn the light out!
So, that's where we are at the moment, more adjustments tomorrow and then we will see what needs to be moved!

Bye bye for now, see you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly & Snowflake

Snowflakes Home is on it's Way!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly & Snowflake back with you again.

A Big 'Woofing Hello' to Chris who has joined our Merry Band of Woofers!

What is the Woofers name in the picture?

This morning Old Two Legs was up late so everyone including Holly was up and running around, even Snowflake was having a dance around the shower!

It wasn't long before we were on The Sea Wall and I was bullying OTL to throw the ball for me!

I was woofing and jumping up to his pocket and trying to get it out! You know, I was getting so excited that I shoved him off the Sea Wall onto the beach!

Gissa, Gissa, Gissa The Ball!
It was good fun winding OTL up with the ball 'cos I chase after it then dive off into the grass and hide it, (not very well or he couldn't find it!) then I have a nibble of grass while he puffs his way to where I am and picks up the ball, all ready for the next throw!

But it was a warmish sort of morning and the sun was shining so we had super run along the wall, you know it could almost be Spring!

Nearly Spring, but not yet!
Back home we had some fun watching Snowflake exploring the office, just like Holly, all she was really interested in is the food she can sniff!

OTL cut holes in a couple of boxes that held the shower bits and Snowflake had loads of fun pretending she was chasing rabbits!

This is a Pretend Rabbit Hole, OK?
Then she showed us what she does when she finds a Rabbit and wants to get it out of the hole.

...then I go up to him an bite its backside like this!
Holly and I agreed that we wouldn't want Snowflake to bite our backsides, not with teeth like that!

Snowflake was having fun with the old boxes, pretending they were obstacles that could hide mouses an' rats an stuff like that!

I just love a good box!
Lunch time came and OTL had to go out to get some roofing felt 'cos the tree next door has made a hole in our shed roof and water is dripping inside the shed! After that, a quick trip to the rubbish tip to get rid of some old stuff OTL didn't want any more and finally, off to the New Park that we haven't been to for ages!

I had a super time with OTL, he was throwing my ball and I was chasing it. Then he started to throw it straight up in the air and I was jumping for it!

I got it, I Got IT!
In the end I was getting really good at catching it before it landed on the ground!

Come to Daisy!

Holly was not impressed at all and when she met up with Dolly, the pair of them stood gassing and agreed that neither of them 'Did Balls', I said they were a pair of misery guts!

No, I don't do balls either!
Later we met Jilly who agreed with me 'cos she just loves balls!

I Do Balls!
Back home Snowflake was having a ball after OTL let her out of her shower cage and she went looking for food again!

While Snowflake was 'Ferreting Around' OTL had a look at the emails and announced that Snowflakes tower had been dispatched, so, Friday we should see OTL building Snowflakes House which she has already named 'Snowy Heights'!

Come here Rabbits!
Snowflake was having fun 'cos OTL was swinging her around on his old fleece and we noticed just how long her tongue was, I said it was as long as Holly's!

..all the better to lick your whiskers with!
Then she went off sniffin for food!

It's Here, I KNOW it's here!
If it's not raining tomorrow, OTL will be working on the shed roof, I hope he reads the instructions first!

We'll let you know what happens!

Bye bye for now, we are off to mug OTL for some of his dinner!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly & Snowflake.

A Busy Day in The Shower Cubicle!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly & Snowflake back again!

First of all, a big Woofing Welcome to Marilyn and Lindylou who have joined our select band of Followers!

We know there are other Two Legs who read our Blog but don't 'Follow' us, it's OK, we understand!

It takes a brave Two Legs to admit reading the thoughts of a Doggy who types using just one claw!

It has been a busy day today, Old Two Legs went in and cleared Snowflake and her stuff our of the shower so he could have a wash down before taking us out for our morning run. It was OK until he turned the shower on and the water came out cold, like freezing cold, it wouldn't heat up at all!

His skin looked all blue when he got out of the shower!

Now, clever Old Two Legs had listened to the shower a while ago and decided that it sounded 'Sick' so had purchased a new replacement and put it in the loft for such a time as this.

Before he installed the new shower he took us out for our morning stroll along The Sea Wall.

We had left Snowflake back in her 'Cage' 'cos after her 'Ferret About' The Missus didn't want her running around loose while OTL was out!

There's nothing like an early morning 'Ferret Around'!
Holly and I had some fun playing Hide 'n' Seek, but I don't think Holly has got the idea of the game 'cos she runs away until she can't see me any more then calls out 'Ready' and if I do my 'Meerkat Impression', I can see her in the grass!

OK, I'm hiding now!
I can't tell her off for not playing the game properly or she will show off and I don't want a Showy Off Holly!

Back home we had our brush and Breakfast (Lambs Heart) while OTL set about the shower. We were banned from the bathroom, so it was just OTL and Snowflake.

Snowflake was acting as 'Plumbers Mate' and passing the screwdrivers and spanners when OTL wanted them. That was until she rolled onto her back and was playing with the screw driver OTL wanted!

What with Snowflake running around and climbing up on the wash basket and OTL splashing water all over the place, it was a bit 'Messy' in there and we were glad to be out of it!

We had better things to do like snoozing on the bed!

Half way through the installation The Missus wanted to get into the bathroom to have a look and that meant OTL had to pick Snowflake up, which he did, the wrong way around and Snowflake didn't like it, so she bit OTL!

Snowflake ended up in the 'Naughty Corner' which she wasn't too happy about, being her first time helping OTL and really it was TM fault for not letting Snowflake have a run around while TM was in the bathroom!

The lunch time walk was fun and Holly tried to join in the 'Ball Chasing' but as she says, She Doesn't Do Balls'

OK, Now What?
We did have a good game of running, we had what OTL called 'The Sea Wall Sprint' which I won, but only just! Holly is getting too good at running!

'The Sea Wall Sprint'
We met up with Jasper, he was lost in Maidstone and found by the Dogs Home who managed to place him with his present owner who loves him to bits!

Dunno about Ferrets, Rabbits are my 'Thing'!
Like me he was really into Rabbits but had never met a ferret, who knows, when Snowflake is allowed out on a lead we may introduce her!

Late this afternoon, OTL took Snowflake to the vets again, this time it was to check up on the Tick Drops that were put on ten days ago.

In short, the vet, with OTL's help took another five ticks off Snowflake. OTL had to hold her while the vet did the 'de Ticking'!

That make seventy three ticks that have been removed so far!

Snowflake didn't like it but was brave and didn't cry, even when she got the Distemper injection!

We are not sure that all the ticks are out and OTL has got to keep an eye on her and when we go down for our yearly 'MOT' and booster injections on Friday, OTL will pick up the drops the vet has prescribed for Snowflake at the same time!

So, all in all, an exciting day and a welcome to the household that Snowflake didn't expect!

OTL's pretty strict about injections, inspections and good health so we just have to put up with it! As Holly told Snowflake, 'Your lucky you don't have to have a 'Hair Cut, Shampoo and Set' every six weeks!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly & Snowflake (A bit sore but still fighting fit!)

Snowflake is Staying and that's Official!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly & Snowflake here again!

Whoopy Doo Doo! Yahoo! It's Official!

Snowflake is staying!

We finally have made contact with Snowflakes owner who lost her on the 21st December! He had three ferrets get out of their cages and two were found in a couple of days but Snowflake managed to stay lost until we found her on the 29th Dec.

Barney, that's his name, (no relation to the other Barney we know), he has been keeping ferrets for forty years and hunts with them! So, we can't let her near any rabbits 'cos I reckon she will get them before we do!

Barney says that as we had looked after her for such a long time and have become attached to her, then maybe it is best if she stays with us!

Barney tells us that she is two years old and still a spinster, so we have to make a decision, does she get 'Done' like wot we are or does she get a jab every time she comes into season? We will leave that to Old Two Legs to decide!

That all happened late morning, so we had to have our morning walk still not knowing Snowflakes future, so like the weather, we were a bit misty as well!

It's the Not Knowing!
We passed a Little Egret on the mud pools and he said that he didn't mind if Snowflake stays but please keep her away from him!

Ferrets and Me don't get on!
We met up with a couple of old ladies and I told one of them the story of Snowflake and she said it would be very sad if Snowflake had to go back and wished us all well.

Aw! That's a sad tale my dear!
This afternoon has been all good, Snowflake has been pigging out on chicken wing and snoozing most of the time. We have been down The Sea Wall again and the mist is still as Yuk as this morning but we didn't care 'cos Snowflake would still be here tomorrow!

We are the first to give Snowflake a name, we were told that she didn't have a name before because she was a working ferret and the nearest she got to a name was.......No.3!

Tomorrow she has got to go to the vets for a second check up on her tick problem and maybe get a jab against Distemper, but we will wait until she comes back to see what happens.

OTL has ordered the Ferret Tower, again, and it should arrive next Friday, if we are lucky and of course, OTL and The Missus get their shower back!

The office is being 'Ferret Proofed', that is, all the holes in the walls where OTL built ducting for cables has been sealed and a filing cabinet has been moved across the other side of the room.

OTL has gone back to reading the book on ferrets and nursing the couple of bites he got this morning!

So, every one is pleased with the result, what a wonderful start to the New Year!

See you tomorrow, I'm off to see if Snowflake is awake yet!

Bye bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly & Snowflake (Still Snoozing!)

On, Off, On, Off, On, Off, I'm getting confused!

Hi Woofers!

It's us, back again, Daisy & Holly & Snowflake.

Well, it's been up and down today. We woke up good and early and got the news that The Missus had received a message on Facebook that Snowflake's owner had been found. So she asked that a message be got to him to say we think we had found his lost ferret, if he had lost one!

We sat back waiting for a telephone call, nothing. Then we heard that someone had gone to the house and left a note through the letterbox giving our contact details, nothing.

It's the Waiting that gets me!
So, we are sitting here waiting for a telephone call. Just to be on the safe side, Old Two Legs has cancelled the Ferret Tower he had ordered yesterday. We still have some 'Ferret Stuff' like Cat Litter and Ferret Nuggets and Nail Clippers and some Malt Paste that ferrets are supposed to go potty for but so far Snowflake has turned her nose up at it!

We went for our walk along The Sea Wall this morning and had a go at Hunting Mouses but it wasn't the same 'cos we didn't know if when we got back Snowflake would still be there!

Well I can sniff Mouses but I don't fancy chasing them.
We met up with Archie who was destroying a rubber ball that he had taken off a couple of terriers. 'If it was up to me', he said, 'I'd tell them that Snowflake has moved and not left a forwarding address!'

Just destroying this ball!
It was at that moment that one of the terriers arrived and demanded the ball back, so OTL took it off Archie and gave it back to the owner who then put it in her bag, so no one got it!

Gissma Ball Back!
Off we went back home and Snowflake was still there, so she was let out and had a run around the office and a roll in OTL's fleece which she really loves doing! Then she got a big dollop of minced beef which she loves, but not as much as raw chicken!

Like all of us after the meal she just curled up in her bed and went to sleep! Which was OK by us 'cos we did the same after a super chicken meal!

At lunch time we bumped into  a couple of other dogs who said that Snowflake should stay where she was!
My vote is for Snowflake to stay!
Oscar said that if we brought Snowflake out to The Sea Wall she would say hello to her and not eat her!

I'll talk to anyone!
'Hey!' said Bella, 'When can we meet her?' I said that would depend on the phone calls and the vet and if she has her distemper injections!

When are we going to meet her?
When we got back, OTL had a game with Snowflake and kept her running around the office and rolling around on OTL's fleece.

Every time the phone rang we all stopped and listened to who it was. There were no calls from who we think will call, instead it was people telephoning to find out what was happening!

Who's that on the phone?
Snowflake just loves having a bit of a 'Rough House' on OTL's fleece and it's fun watching OTL spin her around and turn her over using his fleece. She doesn't yet 'Chuckle' as they are supposed to do when they are having fun but it is fun watching how OTL keeps his fingers away from her mouth!

Come on, let's have a nibble of your finger!
She had so much running about that in the end she just lay down in one of the sleeves and stuck her nose out of the end and gave OTL the 'Hairy Eyeball!'

It's hard work having fun!
Fingers crossed for Snowflake, I think that OTL is getting fed up with Snowflake's supposed owner lack of action so he may just say that Snowflake is staying and 'To Hell with It!'

Let's see what the morning brings!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly & Snowflake.

Snowflake is moving in!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here and Snowflake as well!

Old Two Legs has finally made up his mind after a chat with The Missus and us and Snowflake. If Snowflake is OK with it, she can stay with us!

OTL and Snowflake have reached an agreement, Snowflake will allow OTL to pick her up without biting him and OTL has agreed not to put his fingers into her cage or stroke her nose unless she says so!

This morning OTL ordered up the new Ferret Tower for Snowflake to live in, so she won't have to stay in the 'Shower Cage' for too long!

We were watching her eat a chicken wing this morning and she was crunching up the bone as well!

My idea of Heaven!

Holly and I left her to it and went off for our morning walk along The Sea Wall. We were having a game of 'Chase The Ball' when who should arrive but Barney!

'Hello Girlie's' he said, 'Look I've been practising my 'Winning Smile', what do you think?'

Do I look good or wot!
Holly said that his tongue was too long for his head but he didn't care, he still reckons he looks good!

Then he showed us a new trick he has been working on over the last few days and he kicked his ball along the path and it bounced all the way down to the muddy beach!

.......and he shoots for goal!
Back home the postman arrived with a book for OTL, it was 'The Complete Book of Ferrets' that had been recommended as a good guide for looking after ferrets. Snowflake says that it should be worth a laugh, just like 'Training for Dogs'!

This should be fun!
Snowflake was allowed to have a run around OTL's office and found his fleece, so she was wriggling all through the arms and underneath it, poking her nose out at different points! She was having a great time especially as OTL was spinning her around on the fleece as well!

In the end she was getting a bit tired so OTL picked her up and put her back into her bed for a snooze!

I'm exhausted!
After lunch we were out with OTL delivering some stuff and to get a new tyre for the car 'cos it got a puncture and couldn't be repaired. After that it was down to the Riverside Park for a run but it was very wet and muddy. Holly thought it was fun to jump in the puddles copying some young Two Legs that were walking ahead of us!

Splish, Splash, Splosh!
We both had fun chasing up and down the beach as well, first I would chase Holly then she chased me!

Can't catch me!
Back home we found Snowflake asleep, you know she sleeps as much as we do!

Off to have a nibble of our Doggy Scoff 'cos OTL has got Curry tonight so there is no chance of getting any of his dinner tonight!

See you tomorrow and we think OTL is going to see if he can trim Snowflakes claws, best of luck!

Bye bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly & Snowflake!
