A Bank Holiday Like Wot it Used to Be, (According to OTL)

Hi Ho Woofers!

Daisy, Holly & Snowflake here!

Now we know that Old Two Legs is as old as the hills, and maybe a bit older, but he was telling us about when he was a youngster and how wonderful the weather was on Bank Holidays. We are just amazed that  he can remember back that far!

Well, he says that today has been the best Bank Holiday for many years, maybe he is right, we can only remember back three years!

We were going down the Forest but because it has been so hot, we decided to go down on The Sea Wall and enjoy the sea breezes.

Now, that's OK by us, including Snowflake 'cos she hasn't been down the Forest yet!

This morning we were kept on a 'Short Lead' 'cos OTL said he was fed up being pulled all over the place by us three! So we got taken to the very middle of our walk where we turn to go home and then it was Snowflakes turn to decide where we went, we went ever where, past the Rabbits, along The Sea Wall, around the back of the Rabbit Bushes, behind the Car Park and finally back down to the Rabbit Bushes!

I don't know about her but we were worn out!

Back home to Doggy Scoff  and a snooze while OTL finished off the big car.

OTL came back in and started to clean out Snowflakes house. He was vacuuming out all the old Ferret Nuggets from the second floor in Snowy Heights when he heard Holly doing her 'Warning Growl', hey up, thought OTL that's not like her. So off he went to investigate.

I was on top of the bed looking down onto Holly's bed on the floor. She was curled up inside her bed, having a well earned snooze, except that she was being woken up by a ferret licking the inside of her ear!

Snowflake was giving it some stick, slurp, slurp, lick, lick!

Holly was doing the 'ifyoukeeponlickingmyearlikethatI'mgoingtotakethattoungeofyoursandshoveitwherethesundon'tshineSavvy?'

I think that OTL got to Snowflake just in time and Holly got a 'Good Girl' and a stroke from OTL.

OTL said that in Ferret Land, ear licking is a way of bonding. Holly said that if she does it again she will bond Snowflake to the back of the Rag and Bone mans horse and cart!

Lunch time we went down to the Sea Wall again and it was so crowded, loads of people, all over the place!

Too Many Cars!

Too many People and some were Cooking Food! 

That was just too much for Holly, she said that they should be banned from tormenting poor little doggy's like us!

No matter where we went we couldn't get away from them!

Oh No Not More Of Them!

OTL and Holly were playing on the beach chasing Whelk Egg Sacks around, I decided that OTL should throw the ball, and I told him so, trouble was, he had forgotten the ball!

 As we got to the end of the Sea Wall where we turn around and head back to the car, we spotted a really Big Wobbly Bozo Type dog, sniffin along the mud and trying to look like he knew what he was doing, obviously a tourist, so we stood there for a while watching him!

Yo Bozo!

 OTL told us off for staring at him and said that one day we would get a good woofing at for being such rude puppy's!

As Holly says, 'He's got to catch us first!'

I found a Super Sniff to roll in, so I waited for OTL and Holly to get ahead and had a seriously good roll before OTL spotted me and chased me back to the car calling me a 'Smelly Nelly'!

Do I care?

 

This is really Living!

 Because it was a bit warm this afternoon, OTL had this brilliant idea, well, he thought it was good!

He filled a big tray full of water, it was sort of luke warm and into it he put a couple of Snowflakes favourite squeaky toys. The tray was in the shower and we wondered what he was going to do.

He went and got Snowflake and put her in the shower and squeaked the toys a couple of times.

Snowflake sort of jumped over the side to get her toys and went head first into the water!

She jumped out very quickly!

Then OTL picked her up and lowered her, tail first, back into the tray. Well we decided that Snowflake was not into swimming or water, we could tell that by the way she jumped out of the tray and went flying towards OTL who picked her up and wrapped her in a towel and dried her off!

Snowflake said she doesn't do water or swimming or getting wet!

Ho well, I'm the only one who likes a paddle!

Wot a Super Day!

Hi Woofers!

It's Daisy, Holly & Snowflake here!

Hasn't it been a super sunny day! We were out with Snowflake early this morning and she was doing her normal 'Running Backwards' trick! I must admit, we got a bit bored, so, what are a  couple of puppies going to do?

Hunt Rabbit!

That was it, off we went and into the 'Rabbit Patch', as Old Two :Legs calls it and it so strange how we seem to go deaf when we get in there!

OTL did what he normally does, take Snowflake back to the car, and we, Hunt Rabbit!

We managed to kick one up and off we went!

I somehow found myself in the next field that has a fence all the way around. It is the same one that Holly got trapped in when she went chasing rabbits and now, I was trapped!

i could hear OTL calling and whistling but I couldn't get back to him and I couldn't find the hole where I got through!

I could hear OTL and Holly marching all over the place where I normally go but I couldn't let them know where I was!

Then, right around the back, OTL went through the brambles and got up next to the fence and he saw me! That was it, just like Holly, he stuck his arm through and lifted me up and over the fence and put me on top of his head!

It was a good job he was wearing his 'Indiana Jones' hat or I might have scratched his head!

That was it, we got marched back to the car and back home!

OTL then spent the rest of the morning cleaning the big car and by lunch time he had done it all except clean the windows, he will do that tomorrow!

Lunch time we were down The Sea Wall again but our 'Rabbit Hunting' was ruined by loads of tourist wandering around the place!

More Tourists!

 Holly says it's the sun that brings them out 'cos you never see them in the Winter!

Mr Corvid was complaining as well, he said that they scared off all the whelks and even the oysters were hiding!

They are So Noisy!

We met up with a real Bozo of a dog, a youngster who wanted to have a game! He cuddled up to OTL then chased us around for a bit, until Holly woofed him to keep his nose to himself!

He is a funny Bozo so we don't mind him jumping about!

You can call me Bozo if you want!

 When we got back home it was a case of Find A Cool Spot and have a snooze!

It's a doggy thing you know!

Tomorrow it is a holiday so I expect OTL will take us down to the Forrest for a run around 'cos he wants to have a look for more flowers!

Clean Caravan, Raspberries and a Thunder Storm!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly & Snowflake here with you again!

Today Old Two Legs had planned to clean the caravan and the car but it didn't quite work out for him. First of all we went out for our walk and Snowflake came alone as well. She did her normal trick of wanting to go the opposite way to us, so, OTL said that Snowflake could decide on where we go and off she went, all around the back of the rabbit woods and along the path back to the car. Not the longest walk but it made a change! Then we set off to our favourite rabbit hunting ground and even Snowflake had a 'Ferret About' looking for rabbit sniffs!

Huntin' Rabbit!

OTL got fed up and picked Snowflake up, called us and marched us all of to the furthest point of our walk. Then putting Snowflake down, she started to run back to the car!

We let her go back with OTL while we went back to Hunting Rabbit!

Back home we had Chicken & Biscuits while OTL gathered together all the stuff needed to wash the caravan. We had such fun, woofing and blowing Raspberries at OTL while he was sloshing soapy water all over the place!

It was fun but our lunchtime walk was late 'cos OTL took ages to clear everything up! On top of that he didn't clean the car, said he would leave that until tomorrow!

We went out down to The Sea Wall but OTL kept a close eye on us and wouldn't let me go visiting the rabbits!

Me, being closely watched!

 I kept close to OTL, not that I wanted to be that close, it was just that he said he would put me on the lead if I didn't!

I don't think he trusts me!

Holly was playing the Miss Goody Four Paws and said that she was trying to fly but she didn't quite make it off the ground!

Nearly, very Nearly Airborne!

 Heading back to the car we saw a big storm over Essex, there was thunder and lightning which started to worry us but OTL put us both on the lead and got us back to the car in double quick time!

We are looking forward to a lazy evening, you know, stretched out on the sofa, chewing on a carrot and maybe mugging OTL for some Shortbread!

Tomorrow it is a wash and brush up for the big car, so we expect to sit watching him from the window!

Our Pond!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly & Snowflake here again.

We have been reading 'The Mail' and see that a visitation is being planned by Archie's Mum! Yes, she is coming down for one of The Missus's 'Card Thingy Wossits'! That means we will have to be on good behaviour (not easy), and that includes Snowflake as well!

Will we get to meet Archie?

This morning we got into trouble, again, as normal, 'cos we rushed off to chase the rabbis again while Old Two Legs was walking with Snowflake, in the opposite direction!

Well, it is so boring going so slow!

Back home OTL got out the Camcorder again to try to get a shot of a bug that he has seen in the pond. As you can guess, the bug stayed hidden and OTL got side tracked into watching Water Boatmen and Giant Pond Snails! You know, those pond snails can really get a move on when they put their mind to it!

So, there he is, trying to look all 'Professional' like his hero Gordon Buchanan but the bug stayed hidden and OTL got all aching and creaky in his knees, well he is an 'Old Duffer'!

Back up in the office, Snowflake was doing her 'Drawer Tidying' bit and emptied everything into the back of the drawer cavity!

Then she went off exploring again and manged to fall off the desktop, into a box of paper wrapping, then the box fell off the box it was standing on and two boxes and a ferret went crashing to the floor!

She decided to have a rest!

It's Hard Work being a Ferret!

Mind you, it did give OTL a chance to take what he calls a 'Fully Automatic' shot. It involves setting the camera to 'Automatic Everything' Aperture, Speed, ISO, Focus and anything else that can be Auto. Then he puts the camera on the floor, points it towards Snowflake, guesses the zoom factor and presses the shutter release, some times it works and sometimes it doesn't, this time........?

A slurp of Ferretone and back to bed for Miss Snowflake!

We have a bird box on one of the fence panels in the garden and it has a door opening set for a wren but today we saw a  Red-tailed bumblebee fly into the box and stay there! So I suppose that's another thing he will be keeping an eye on, just in case the bumblebee sets up home there!

Lunch time came and we were off to The Sea Wall again and Holly found a super sniff that just had to be rolled in!

Life is GOOD!

I got into trouble, again! Well, there was OTL and Holly having a game on the beach, kicking an old football that had got washed up on the beach, and I got sort of, bored, if you know what I mean.

I'm getting Bored!

I sort of got the idea that the rabbits would be out again, and I just 'had' to have a look, and off I went, even though OTL was whistling and calling and jumping up and down!

OTL had come all the way from the beach and stand outside the bramble bushes calling me. When I decide that I was in just enough trouble to get away with a telling off, I came out.

You know what? I was put on the lead for the rest of the walk! Most unfair!

I'm in The Poo again!

Well, that was it,back home for a very enjoyable afternoon snooze on the bed. Holly joined me and fell asleep on OTL's pillow!

Not sure what is happening tomorrow, maybe an adventure, maybe Snowflake will be allowed in the caravan?

I'll let you know!

It's Thursday Already!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly & Snowflake here!


Well, today Old Two Legs has been getting all in a state. He has been rushing around like a Blue Tail fly getting all the stuff done before the weekend arrives 'cos he has got to get the caravan cleaned!

It's a Weekend Job 'cos there is a load of other stuff to do as well  but we will be OK 'cos we will be inside the caravan pulling faces at him!

Today we had another early morning run with Snowflake who was doing her 'Reversing Trick'. That is where she turns around and tries to wiggle he way out of the harness!

We went after the rabbits again and chased a couple around the trees but they must have a secret entrance to their home 'cos all of a sudden they disappeared!

OTL took us out to do deliveries and we stopped at the Riverside Park, we haven't been there for some time,so loads of new sniffs!

There is a big field where us doggies can have a run around and chase balls and stuff like that.

Holly and I were having fun when I spotted this big hairy old Alsatian walking around the edge of the field. I got all brave and had a woof at him.

Nothing.

So I went into into 'Rude Mode', that is going Woof, Woof, Whoooo!

Still nothing!

That was it, serious challenge, rude woof with an insult!

Woof, woof, Whoooooo Whoooooo Whooooooooooooooooo!

Nothing!

Holly walked past and said 'You know, that dogs deaf?'

I felt such a fool!

Back home to some Lambs Heart and a snooze!

I almost go swimming!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly & Snowflake back again!

It has been a wonderful day today, sun shine, long walks, rabbit hunting and a swim, almost!

We started off this morning thinking that Snowflake would stay in bed while we went off to The Sea Wall but just as we were about to leave, she decided she would come with us 'cos the rain cloud looked like it was being blown away across to Essex, (a good place for it to go!)

When we got down there, Snowflake decided to do her normal trick of going the wrong way! I got fed up waiting and shot off to find some rabbits, Holly decided that rabbits were more fun than ferrets and ran after me and we both got put on the lead when Old Two Legs caught up with us both!

Snowflake said that the rabbit holes were not really that interesting 'cos there were no rabbits in them.

So off we went and Snowflake decided that she would rather be back in her cage, so OTL took her back and we went for another stroll along the Sea Wall but we were kept away from the rabbit holes!

Back home it was a brush then we had to have our anti flea stuff on our backs but we did get some freshly cooked chicken and biscuits!

Off for a snooze until lunch time when OTL needed to go out to do some deliveries and on the way back, we stopped off at The New Park!

Well, the first thing I did, after a wee, was to find some really smelly stuff to have a roll in!

This is the Life!

 Holly thought it was a big laugh and kept on calling out that I was 'In Trouble', especially when she shouted out that OTL was on his way over to me!

You're in Trouble now!

I didn't mind 'cos I knew we were going to pass the Swimming Hole and I would at least get my paws wet!

When we got there I dived in and had a splash about and said 'Hello' to the gang!

Hanging out with 'The Lads'

Then I fell off the ledge and got wet all over! That sorted out the sniff on my back!

OK, Now I'm wet all over!

I managed to get back on dry land again and had a good shake that managed to get some water all over OTL!

Getting the water out of my ears!

Holly was sitting on the bench and kept on calling me a Bozo! She reckons that anyone who goes in swimming has just got to be a Bozo of the first order!

We had a run around the 'Orchard' which is a two mile trip and of course, OTL was looking out for the birds who were singing away. The one below is called a Meadow Pipit!

 We were both worn out by the time we got back to the car and of course, we did enjoy a very long slurp of water that OTL had brought with us, even he had a slurp as well but not from our bowl but the bottle!

OK, that's enough, take us Home!

After the slurp we headed back home for a good evening snooze before going to bed proper like!

A perfect end to another perfect day!

Oh Dear, I'm in Deep Poo!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly & Snowflake here!

Another sunny day and the wind is still blowing, but not too much! We were out this morning, good and early and we woofed at the Mini Two Legs as they headed off to school. Snowflake came with us again and enjoyed a run around. This time Old Two Legs tried to be crafty. He walked to the centre of our walking place and put Snowflake down on the ground, now in this place it didn't matter which way she wanted to go 'cos we could go that way and return in a big circle!

Well, that was the idea.

Instead of choosing a direction along the path, with grass clumps and bushes to sniff at, she decided to go across country and into all the brambles and down the rat holes!

Now I wanna go This Way!

OTL tried to keep up with her and was bounding along shouting 'Come Back Snowflake!' but she didn't take any notice until he caught up and lifted her off her feet!

Then it was back to normal, we wanted to go forward, she wants to go back, we go back and she changes her mind and goes left, so we go left and she circles around to go right, we stop and turn right just in time to see her going back again!

Holly and I got fed up and went off chasing rabbits again. OTL finally got Snowflake back to the car and she snuggled down into her cage while OTL went back to look for us!

Lunch time came and we were off again, but without Snowflake this time. It was great having a stroll along The Sea Wall, sniffin the sniffs and doing what we wanted.

Jus Sniffin!

That was until we came to the half way point where there was a short cut to the Rabbit Hole. I sort of wandered half way up the path and OTL called me back down to him. I really didn't want to go but sort of wandered down to him all sort of dragging my paws and sticking my bottom lip out!

OTL turned his back and with Holly walking beside him, headed off along the path.

You know, I would have sworn I heard a rabbit shout out to me, well, that's what I reckon it was anyway, off I went like a flash of light and even when OTL whistled for me to come back, I took no notice!

Off I went, Rabbit Diggin!

OTL and Holly carried on, leaving me to my rabbit hole. Off they went, all the way around, Holly had a poo and a wee and another wee and a sniff, then another wee!

Finally they both came back to where I was getting really excited about this hole, Holly came over to see what I was doing and had a little dig and a scrape.

Hey! Just look at this hole!

 OTL arrived, and put me on the lead!

Off we went to the car, me on a lead and Holly wandering about, sniffin the sniffs and wee'ing and sniffin and I was stuck on the lead!

When we got into the car I was put on the back seat and told to stay there, OTL didn't sound as though he was willing to negotiate on me sitting on the front seat with Holly!

Even when I shoved my nose under his arm to let me through, he told me to 'Get Back!'

Mmm! I decided to sit on the back seat, it just felt safer!

I heard him telling The Missus about me and my super big rabbit hole and how I'm going to be kept on a lead for the next few walks, which is really unfair 'cos those rabbits will be laughing at me and I won't be able to chase after them!

It really is hard being a puppy sometimes!

Snowflake shows off and we go down to the woods!

Daisy, Holly & Snowflake here!

We had a New Person log on to us yesterday, someone called 'Lazy Sunday' (my sort of person!)

Then we looked closer, it was Archie and Elaine! Now what's all this sneaky stuff then? Trying to trick us like that!

Mind you, that picture of Archie is really super, we can even see his whiskers!

Wot a posh puppy he is turning out to be!

We went for our normal walk along The Sea Wall but Snowflake was all 'Twitchy' and she kept on wanting to go back rather than the way we normally go.

Can we go back this way?

 We thought she was just showing off, wanting to go the opposite way to everyone else!

Pleeese, can we go back?

 She was getting really jittery, and kept looking over her shoulder as if there was a big bad dog after her!

I don't know, I can't explain why, it's just a feeling!

Holly had a chat with her to find out if she was just being a Bossy Boots but she looked scared but didn't know why!

Old Two Legs was getting a bit fed up and picked her up and took her down the beach. Well the first thing she did was to duck down and refuse to move backwards or forwards and when OTL knelt down next to her she jumped up onto his lap and then scuttled up and around the back of his head!

I'm not moving another inch!

OTL decided that she was too scared of something but we couldn't work out what it was, so back to the car went Snowflake and she curled up in her travelling cage and wrapped herself in the towels she has stored in there.

Back along the path OTL spotted a bird up in the sky and reckoned that it was the thing that Snowflake was getting all nervous about, it was a Kestrel.

We are not sure if a Kestrel would attack a ferret but it certainly could do some damage with its talons!

I like mouses, voles, water rats and little ferrets!

 Holly and I enjoyed our walk and even had a go at digging the rabbits out of the hole but OTL got to us before we could do any serious damage and off we went back to see Snowflake.

We told her about the Kestrel and she said that she had always been frightened by hunting birds!

Diggin Rabbit!

 This afternoon we went out delivery stuff and ended up in The Forest, which we haven't been to for such a long time. There were flowers growing on the forest floor and the trees were just beginning to look green where the leaves are starting to come out. OTL spotted the flowers and off he went to get some pictures.

Looks pretty, dunno what it is though!

 We were having a mooch around, catching up on the sniffs when we heard a load of woofing coming from back down the path. There was a youngster charging along the path, woofing, stopping, going back, then rushing up to us again woofing!

'Upon my life' says Holly, 'Another Bozo!'

It's Meeee!

 OTL was still away with the Fairies and the plants, this is the first Bluebell of the year, for OTL!

English Bluebell!

 We were off hunting squirrel but we didn't see a thing, they must have still been in bed!

OTL found some more flowers and even I thought these were pretty!

Pretty, but still dunno what they are!

 We had a good run and all too soon we were close to the last gate before the car park. 'Well' said Holly, 'It's made a good change from The New Park'

I'm in agreement with her, charging about on the grass and having a swim is all OK, but there are times when the forest is just right on a Spring Day!

OK OTL, back home it is!

 Back home to a second helping of Lambs Heart tonight, so we are set up for a good snooze afterwards, until OTL gets the Shortbread out of course!

The Sisters out for a walk!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly & Snowflake back on a Super Sunny Sunday!

Hasn't it been glorious today, the sun has shone all day, which means that OTL has been getting all hot and showy off!

We were up good and early and off to The Sea Wall for our walk and of course, Snowflake came along as well!

Now it was a bit hard for Old Two Legs, controlling two dogs and a ferret plus take a camera to record the events, but he tried!

The Run Starts Here!

OTL said that he would have to take loads of pictures and hope that one or two were OK. You see, he couldn't hold the camera to his eye 'cos he was chasing around after Snowflake, so it was really a 'Point and Shoot' camera session today, or in OTL's case Wave and Pray!

There were times when Snowflake found a good sniff and shared it with us but what interests a ferret doesn't always set our senses alight, but it's always worth checking, just in case!

Sharing a Sniff!

Snowflake got into 'Hunting Mode' and was rushing about all over the place. She said she was 'Hunting Duck' today and the involved a 'Special Technique'!

Is that Duck I can Sniff?

The two times she thought it was duck turned out to be an old Fosters Lager can some slob had thrown into the grass instead of the waste bin!

Holly found an old ball that had lost it's air and was looking all soft and deflated!

All Puffed Out!

She even managed a few 'Woofs' at it but it didn't move, it just stayed there and wobbled in the wind!

Now, going out with Snowflake does give us some 'Street Cred' with the other dogs, I mean, just how many dogs can say that on of their sisters is a ferret! I know that she isn't a 'Real Sister' but it is getting like she is! Even when we are out for a walk, she is running just as fast as us when we trot along!

OTL has been all clever with the photo's, Snowflake has to be kept on a lead 'cos she is worse than us when she gets a sniff and to stop her running after the sniff, OTL has to be able to follow her wherever she rushes off to. Now this is OK but when your taking a photo, the lead is always in the shot, not good! So, Old Clever Clogs has been tarting around with the computer to get rid of the lead.

This way Girls!

See what I mean? For Gawd sake don't ask him to explain how he does it or he'll be talking about it for the next week!

Looking for Sniffs!

 It really does look like Snowflake is off her lead doesn't it?

Here be Rabbits!

 We got to the Rabbit Bushes and Holly and I went off to see if there were any rabbits above ground, Snowflake walked down the edge counting all the rabbits that had just gone down the hole!

She really is a show off!

The rest of the day was spent watching OTL in the back garden. He has cleaned up the area at the back and  has spread a sheet out and started to put stones on it. This is so that he doesn't have to do any mowing grass 'cos he suffers from Hay Fever!

Poor OTL, he had to work so hard and bow he has got a bad back! Let's hope it won't stop him from taking us out for a walk!

Snowflake sorts it out!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly and Snowflake here!

Well, we were expecting rain and storms today but it wasn't that bad really. First thing we did was to have an extra half an hour in bed 'cos we were very late going to bed on account of us baby sitting!

Not that it worried us, well, it is Saturday and that means 'The Weekend'!

We all went out to The Sea Wall, that is Holly me and Snowflake and Old Two Legs. At first Snowflake said it was too cold to go running around in the wet grass, so she stayed wrapped up in OTL's arm and just looked at the world going by. Well, it didn't stay like that for long 'cos she started to wriggle to be let down and soon was charging along with us, sniffin the sniffs and poking her head into every hole in the grass, looking for mouses or rats or rabbits!

She is really getting used to this running around with us and we have fun running together pointing out the sniffs!

Back home we found that Auntie Karen (The Cat Woman) had arrived to spend some time sloshing the glue and glitter around with The Missus, so we left them to it and headed for the office for a game with Snowflake and a snooze!

OTL then went out to the caravan and spent some time making some repairs to the cupboards and the heating system . Of course Holly and I joined him in the caravan and we had great fun jumping onto the bed, eating carrots and then woofing at everyone who walked past!

Back in the office, OTL had left his boots on the floor, so Snowflake started to investigate!

First she had a sniff.

Then she had a look around the outside.

 And after that, she had a look inside!

This is getting worse!

 We thought it was a hoot watching her inside with her tail and backside poking out of the boot!

I think I'm Stuck!

 OTL tickled her tail and she jumped back out double quick time to find us all laughing at her!

Tail Tickle Coming Up!

She said it wasn't fair that we tickled her when she wasn't looking but in the end she was laughing as well!

Tomorrow, if it's not raining, OTL plans to have a go at finishing the back garden, well, he won't finish it all but a good part of it. So, watch out for pictures of the 'Before & After' !
