I've Been Swimming!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here again!

Have I got some news for you!

I'll save it for a bit later!

This morning it was terribly misty when we went out for our walk, Old Two Legs was still complaining he was too hot after rowing his way around the office this morning.

Seriously Misty!
We got down to the Sea Wall and Mr Brambles went for his morning jog down to the beach. It was funny 'cos he tries to keep up with us as we trot along and sometimes he even catches us (when we stop for a sniff) and runs between our back legs and shouts for us to 'Get A Move On!'

This morning he and Miss Snowflake did a bit of Rock Climbing and surprisingly Mr Brambles was very good at climbing!

Don't look down!
On the way back to the car, the pair of them were pretending that they were cowboys out on the range rounding up the cattle.

You can guess who were the cows!

Get along you Doggies!
Back home they both crashed out and were soon snoozing the morning away! OTL was busy in the office doing 'Stuff' so Holly and I had a fun run around the garden and up the stairs as a pretend F1 race!

Holly and I got a bit fed up with all this working stuff and went to annoy OTL so he would have a game with us. Well, soppy OTL got the wrong message and asked us if we wanted a walk!

Is the Pope Catholic?

You betcha!

Down we went again and had a run along the beach 'cos the tide was almost in. There were the fishermen on the beach looking out to sea.

Now, That Looks Cool!
I decide that I would have a little paddle, just to cool off a bit. So, while OTL and Holly were walking along the beach I went for my normal 'Deep Paddle'

Come on You Two!
As OTL got closer he picked up a stone and tossed it into the water, I pretended to chase after it but stopped when my feet floated off the bottom!

Then he picked up a bit of wood and threw it in the water and I went after it 'cos I could see it floating, suddenly so was I, floating, in the water! The bit of wood wasn't so far away from my nose, so I did a couple of paddles and found myself going closer to the wood, then all of a sudden it was there, under my nose, so I grabbed it and carried on paddling and turned my head around and the rest of me followed and I headed back to shore!

Me Swimming!
 I had been swimming!

That was it, after that I was woofing OTL to throw more wood and off I went, swimming out and fetched it back again!
This was Good!

I mean, me, swimming, with all four paws off the ground!

OTL said that my tail was wagging like the oars on a Roman Galley at Ramming Speed!

Tail Assisted Swimming!
I was dead chuffed about swimming and so was OTL, he said that I was a 'Natural', Holly on the other hand said that she wasn't going any where near the water and that I could have it all to myself!

A bit further on we came across the fishermen and I stopped to tell him all about me swimming and Holly asked if he had any food she could chew on while I was telling the story!

I did also tell him that his fishing rod was waggling, but it stopped just as quickly as it had started so he left it alone.

Yer Rods Waggling!
We got down to the other beach, the one where we go with the ferrets and OTL found another stick and tossed it in for me to fetch, in I went and had a great time swimming out to the stick!

Holly, sneaky like she is, stood on the shore and waited for me to come in with the stick then tried to pinch it from me so she could have a run around with it!

Come on I'll help you carry it!
I did let her get it a couple of times and we had fun chasing each other along the wall!

Catch me if you can!
Just as we were running about on the Sea Wall, a couple of Water Scooters came racing past making a terrible noise.

Holly stopped running and looked at them pass, 'Wow!' says Holly, 'If I won the lottery I'd get one of those!'

Which is a bit daft 'cos she doesn't do the Lottery!

Holly wants one!
When we got back to the car, OTL gave me a good rub down with our towel, I was almost dry from running in the grass but still needed my ears and tummy dried off before we went home to tell the The Missus about my swimming!

A Good Rub Down!
The ferrets were seriously impressed with my swimming and said that they don't mind swimming but preferred to stay dry!

So, there you are, a first for me and I can't wait until we go down the Swimming Hole again, I'll show all those Bozo Labradors!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Don't She Look Smart!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here!

It is the first sign that Autumn is arriving, we looked out the window and it was all misty type of foggy! You know, the sort of morning mist that lands on the spiders webs and makes it look like it's hung with jewels!

The grass was also damp and wet and soaked us all! Old Two Legs had to give us all a rub down in the back of the car after our morning walk!

You should have seen OTL this morning on the rowing machine! There he was, rowing away and wobbling around the office and the ferrets were trying to keep up with him. As he went back, they rushed down one end of the cage in the direction of his motion of travel, then they rushed back to the other end as he propelled himself forward to take another stroke!

When he stopped, they had arrived at the far end of the cage and as OTL started back again, they rushed back down the way they had come!

It was so funny! This carried on for about three minutes until the ferrets ran out of puff and collapsed onto the cushion laughing their tails off!

Mind you, they stopped laughing when the Lactose Free Milk arrived!

Slurping in Black & White!
OTL seems to be getting the hang of is now, this morning he managed four hundred strokes in eleven and a half minutes, so we can see some improvement in his rowing technique, not in the reduction in size of his tummy!

When we came back from the walk The Missus gave us our breakfast and then disappeared out of the front door in a rush. She was off to have her hair done at the Two Legs Parlour!

Now, no matter what you think about the hair cut, the secret is to go Oooooh! and Aaaaaaah! and point at her hair at the same time!

We have discovered that if we do that when she comes back, we get a treat!

So, all together, Oooooooh! Aaaaaah! and 'Don't that look Good!

Lunch time we were out down the Sea Wall again, it was too hot for running about but as the tide was in I had a little paddle, just to cool off my bits!

Cool Bits!
Of course, little Miss Goody Four Paws stayed well out of the water and enjoyed a sun bathe while I was in the water!

Yeah! Warm and Dry!
The fishermen were teaching the worms to swim but not having much success, still, they were getting a good tan!

No food but there's a Wormy Sniff here!
Of course, Miss Goody Four Paws kept on bleating about how smart she looks especially as she had stayed warm and dry!

Hey! Do I look good or wot?
Holly found a cool spot under the table while watching OTL snapping away!

Cool Man, Really Cool!
The only photo worth looking at was the butterfly a Silver Studded Blue, of which we have a few along the Sea Wall!

Yet another Common Blue
So that's it, we are off to see what OTL has got for dinner tonight, of course, we will have to test it first, just to make sure it's edible!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Warm Again!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles back to see you.

You know, Old Two Legs was supposed to retire a year and half ago, the idea was he could have a restful time, getting up late, spend loads of time walking us dogs and generally making up for all the hard work!

Well, that was the idea!

Today, the alarm went off at a couple of minutes before six, which felt like it was in the middle of the night, but it couldn't be in the middle of the night 'cos Holly got OTL up in the middle of the night for a wee!

After a bit of stretching OTL settled down on the rowing machine and wobbled his way around the office for fifteen minutes, being cheered on by the ferrets who were running around Snowy Heights whooping and calling out to OTL to 'Keep Quiet' 'cos they wanted to sleep!

After a shower, he loaded us all into the car and off down the Sea Wall for a jog down to the beach, Mr Brambles was having fun chasing and digging!

Getting a Charge On!
Miss Snowflake really doesn't do mornings, a bit like Holly, but falling asleep again in OTL's arm on her way to the beach is a bit much!

I don't do Mornings!
Holly managed to get ahead and jumped up onto the table calling out that she was on Table Top Mountain!

Waiting for the Gang to catch up!
After the beach we have jog back to the car, sniffin' the sniffs and woofing at the other dogs along the path. Back home to a feed and a snooze while OTL starts work on the computer!

I think OTL has gone wrong somewhere along the line!

What makes us laugh is even though he works in the office, there is also the other work he does on the Dustbin Lorries!

Take this afternoon, off he went without asking us, off to play on the lorries.

We were a bit put out that we couldn't go with him but I suppose that the hot weather would have made it uncomfortable for us waiting in the car for him.

But it doesn't stop us from missing him!

Waiting for OTL
We waited and waited and waited and wouldn't leave the window until he came back. When he did arrive we gave him a Super Big Welcome Home Lick and a Cuddle!

We don't think he has any plans to go out tomorrow, so it's back to the Sea Wall for some fun!

Fiona, Snowflake was glad to hear that another Ferret found a good home!

Bye bye for now, we're off to mug OTL for some Shortbread!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake (The Sleepy) and Mr Brambles

Going around in Circles!

Hi Woofers!

We're back, Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Have we had a good laugh today!

It started really early this morning, about six I think it was, the sun hadn't got above the horizon properly when Old Two Legs (Fatty Sailor Man) rolled out of bed and staggered into the office. He had left the rowing machine set up last night 'cos he didn't trust himself to set it up in the morning 'cos he is on 'Auto Pilot' until midday!

Well, he plonked himself down onto the seat and strapped his feet into the foot pedals and started a 'Warm Up' paddle!

Then he gets going on his 'real' rowing. You should have seen him, there he was sort of grunting on every stroke and as he was doing that, the two ferrets were watching him from the cage door. They had their paws on the cage wire looking out at him sliding up and down the runner, their heads were going just like a Two Legs watching tennis!

Plonk, plonk,......plonk, plonk!

Holly and I wandered into the office as well, we stood by the door and watched OTL zoom past the door going forwards, then zoom back holding onto the pole that is supposed to be the oars!

Zoom, zoom......zoooom, zoom!

The grunting and blowing was most comical!

All this rowing and plonking and zooming means that the rowing machine starts to move as well and pretty soon it is beginning to rotate around the office, so by the time OTL was ready to collapse, sorry, we mean Finish, the machine was facing the other way!

So all that rowing and he had gone around in circles!

Now, you remember that last night he managed to do forty strokes a minute for ten minutes? This morning it took him fourteen minutes to do four hundred strokes!

Not very good, not only is he going around in circles but he is going backwards at the same time!

We don't think OTL is very good at this rowing lark!

We were all laughing when we went out for our walk this morning and OTL started to show off and say that it wasn't fair 'cos he kept feeling like he was going to fall off, which made us laugh even more, well I mean, he can't sleep without falling out of bed and now he can't row without falling off the machine!

It's a good job he's not in a real rowing boat, can you imagine it?

Row, row, Splash!

Lunch time came and OTL said that he couldn't stand any more Micky Taking by us, so, off to the Forrest for a run for us and some peace and quiet for OTL!

Holly was enjoying herself, sniffin' the sniffs, I found some enormous poo in the middle of the path. It smelt of cow poo, but were there any cows in our forest?

I thought there was only squirrels in the forest but it seems that we have cows here now, or some mighty big squirrel with a seriously upset tummy!

Did you see the size of that Poo?
We were creeping through the woods when a Hover Fly stopped and warned us about big cows hiding in the forest ahead of us!
Beware of Cows behind the trees!
We carried on and didn't see any cows at all! Holly had a good sniff at the gate, just to check out the road ahead!

No Sniffin' Cows ahead!
OTL was too busy chasing Hover Flies to pay any attention to what was ahead, so we left him bothering a fly who was trying to catch some rays!

Take that camera and Buzz OFF!
We were all enjoying the woods and the warm weather and climbing over the tree trunks when all of a sudden Holly stops and whispers over her shoulder.......Jus' Look at That Monster Squirrel!

Hello Girls!
OTL laughed and called us 'Potty Puppies' and said that we had found the Highland Cattle that were here to keep the bracken down!

Holly and I didn't hang about to say hello, they were just too big!

Well, that's it for today, will OTL sink the rowing machine?  Will the ferrets get over watching OTL wobble all over the office?

More answers tomorrow!

Bye bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly Snowflake and Mr Brambles

The Rochester Boat Song?

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles here again!

Yesterday was great fun and we were very tired by the time we went to bed and I must admit, we even over slept this morning!

The ferrets were rattling their door 'cos they expected to be let out about half an hour earlier!

As we snoozed on the bed, OTL was in getting showered but before he did that he poured out the Lactose Free milk for the ferrets and they both dived in and didn't stop slurping until it had all gone!

Mmmmmm Milk!
Holly and I carried on snoozing, we need all the sleep we can get 'cos we expect to see Sassy and Tilly again around lunch time!

OTL has made arrangements to pick up his Rowing Machine around midday, so we have been discussing what songs OTL should sing as he paddles down his (pretend) river!

Snowflake says maybe he should try some 'Water Music' and Mr Brambles says that knowing OTL it should be 'Bubble Music'!

Holly reckons that he will need to keep time, sort of like walking or marching music like 'Colonel Boggy'!

In the end we decided that we will have to make up our own 'Rowing Song' to keep him going!

Holly wanted to know if OTL knew how to work a rowing machine. Well, let's face it, he falls out of bed and that doesn't even move, so a sliding, wobbling, whirling rowing machine might very well throw him off before he gets going!

So, the first lines have got to be :-

Steady as you go, my fatty sailor man
Keep pulling on the oars, keep straight if you can,
Don't worry 'bout the other boats, we warned them yesterday
That your not looking where your going, so be careful if you can!

OK, so we've got to work on it but it's not that bad for a start!

I reckon that he should have a big drum mounted on the front of the machine and us woofers can beat time with our tails. Mind you, I don't know what would happen if someone shouted 'Walkies' and we got excited and doubled the drum rate!

He might have a heart attack!

Well, we went off and collected it and it looks 'The Business'. It's big, heavy and on the good side, it doesn't make too much noise!

So, after reading the instruction manual, OTL got it set up and going!

He said that what he needed was a 'Bench Mark' to base all future results, so, he sat down and paddled away for ten minutes.

He has decided that ten minutes a day will be enough to begin with!

Well, he did four hundred strokes in ten minutes and that is 40 strokes a minute, not exactly Olympic Standard but he has to start somewhere!

We'll let you know how he gets on and how long it is before he decides to sell it!

See you tomorrow, providing he doesn't sink!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles!

Sea, Sand, Swimming and Digging Holes!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles here!

Wot a Day!

It started off with Old Two Legs getting up at least an hour earlier than normal, which is very unusual!

Our walk along the Sea Wall was good and the ferrets spent too long digging holes!

The temperature was a bit low and Miss Snowflake didn't want to get down from OTL's arms to be gin with!

The sun shone through the clouds onto a small sailing boat in the estuary, all very pretty!

White Sails in the Sunrise!
Back we went and while we were having breakfast OTL sneaked out and went to pick up Sassy and Tilly!

When they arrived we had a game in the garden and The Missus put together a big picnic spread and packed it all up in the 'Cool Bag'!

Next stop Minnis Bay!

Minnis Bay is super, loads of sand all over the place and loads of beach to run on!

We started off by having a picnic first, TM found a shelter and laid out the picnic on the shelter seat, all very posh looking it was!

Posh Meal
We all sat down and had a good feast!

and now a drink!
After the picnic we headed off to the Beach!

I found this great big puddle that was wet and warm! I had a good deep paddle and cooled off all my bits and OTL was even throwing the ball in for me to fetch!

There's Paddling and there is Deep Paddling!
We ran and chased and woofed and rolled on the sand then we dug some holes and then after all that, we had a paddle and started all over again!

Tilly said she was feeling a bit cold 'cos the wind was blowing in off the sea, so OTL gave her his fleece to put on.

Obi-Wan Kenobi?
We went back to the car and OTL had this brilliant idea that everyone thought was wonderful.

A Mr Whippy Ice Cream!

Mr Whippy Cone for two!
Of course, lessons have to be learnt, like, You Have to Eat It Fast!

It's running down my fingers!
All in all we had a great time and on the way back everyone fell asleep, except OTL who had to drive!

So, now we are all tired little puppies and everyone has decided to have an early night, except OTL who says he is going to have a slurp and some shortbread.

It's a sort of 'Good Bye' to being a pig and to try to loose some weight. That's the reason that tomorrow, he is going to collect a rowing machine he purchased on eBay.

Now this should be a laugh!

How long before he sells it?

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles

Don't we look Good!

Yo Ho Woofers!

We're back again!

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Did we have a scare last night! There we were, fast asleep, snoozing for all we were worth. Both Holly and I had crept up onto the bed and were sleeping with out heads on Old Two Legs feet when, all of a sudden, and in a very LOUD VOICE, OTL sat up and yelled!

It sort of sounded like  Yaaaagh!

Well, you can imagine what happened next, Holly and I leaped about six feet up in the air and crashed down onto the floor!

'What the????????' says Holly 'Are there Burglars about?'

I said we should look out for Monsters.

Then OTL, just flopped back down onto the pillow and carried on snoring

He was having a dream again! Holly said we should get back onto the bed 'cos that's the safest place to be when he is dreaming 'cos he might fall out of bed again and land on us!

I said that I had a better idea, and we both jumped onto his pillow and proceeded to give him a big 'Wake Up' lick on his little bald head!

Well, he didn't wake up and in the end we decided to go back to sleep, keeping one eye open in case he jumps up again!

Down on the beach this morning both ferrets were into digging holes again and I even stopped by to pass comment on the construction!

OK, Stand by for Inspection!
As the tide was in I decided to have a paddle, just to cool off a bit, you know, Holly actually walked into the water and got her paws wet!

I could almost fancy a swim!
OTL spotted a couple of Pigeon/Dove/White Collared Dove type birds having a snooze on the beach and they didn't move at all as OTL and the ferrets got closer and closer!

Daft Birds nearly got a Ferret Cuddle!
It was only when Snowflake got just too close that they flew off!

Daft Birds!

Back to the car and off to our appointment with the Poodle Parlour!

Now, this is what I looked like before I went in.

Just a little off the back?

At three thirty when OTL came to pick us up, this is what we looked like!

Are we the dogs Doo Dahs or WOT?

Now, you don't get any better than that!

We are off to get out dinner now, also we will mug OTL 'cos he likes being mugged!

See you tomorrow when we will tell you about our dance on the beach!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Busy Busy Day!

Hi Woofers!

We're back, Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

You get days when it all starts of slow and restful, then, all of a sudden it seems the world descends on you!

We had one of those days today!

It started when we jumped up on the bed this morning and gave Old Two Legs a 'Good Morning' lick on his head!

Before long we had landed down on the Sea Wall for our morning walk. Mr Brambles was soon digging holes while Miss Snowflake told OTL to 'Walk Slower and not wake her up'!

By the time we got back to the car Mr Brambles was dying of thirst and nearly drunk all the water before Snowflake got to it!

Oh, Glug Glug, Heaven!
Back home we were enjoying our breakfast when the telephone started to ring and that was it, we didn't see OTL again until it was time for our 'Lunch Time Walk'!

Poor OTL, he says he is supposed to be semi retired but the poor lad keeps sitting in the office! You would have thought that he had got rid of the computer and all the other stuff that gives him work and spent all day with us, just enjoying life!

The lunchtime walk was a bit slower than normal. OTL was chasing Bumblebees and Butterflies and Dragonflies!

Standing Guard!
Not that he got any prize winning photos, but it helped by taking his mind of work!

Another Busy Bee!
Holly and I were still getting hot and every shady spot we would collapse onto the ground and wait for OTL to arrive before getting up again!

Shift Over Sis, My Tails Getting Sun-burnt!
It was good to get back home and just lay in the shade listening to the water fountain burble away in the pond!

OTL was still working away but as Holly says, 'He could always join us on the patio!'

Tomorrow it's Hair Cutting time, and I must admit, I'm looking forward to getting rid of some of this hair!

I'm not too fond of the washing and blow drying but I'll put up with it this time while the weather is so hot!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

A Treat For Us!

Hello Woofers!

We are here again, Daisy, Holly Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles!

You know, there are times when you get a treat and it is just Soooo Goood!

Let me tell you about it.

We started off this morning in our normal fashion, I jump up on the bed and give Old Two Legs a 'Good Morning' lick to get him into gear!

The ferrets were playing in their 'Snowy Heights' home and making a terrible noise rattling the cage door 'cos they wanted their morning slurp of Ferretone!

In the end OTL got up, showered and got his boots on!

We headed off to the Sea Wall where Miss Snowflake stayed wrapped up in OTL's arms while Mr Brambles had a run and a dig on the pathway heading up to the top of the hill.

On the way we met up with Bryn, who we have met before and after a quick 'Hello' he started to take an interest in Mr Brambles who by now was up in OTL's arms keeping out of Bryn's way!

Hey! What do Ferrets taste like?
'OK', says Mr Brambles 'Put me down, please, I need to have a word with Bryn!'

Well, we all looked on as Mr Brambles stood in the middle of the path and waited for Bryn to get closer, and closer he got. In fact he got so close that Mr Brambles jumped forward and hit him on his nose!

We have never seen Bryn move so fast, he went backwards so quickly that he got a 'Mud Burn' on his tail!

We all had a laugh about that and Mr Brambles said that 'We have had our words now, he'll be no further trouble'!

And he wasn't!

Mr Brambles went jogging off and Bryn stayed on the other side of the path, keeping a careful eye on where Mr Brambles was!

Holly and me were Seriously Impressed!

Down on the beach, Mr Brambles decided that he would try his hand at Ditch Digging and proceeded to dig a hole but run backwards at the same time!

I'll change my name to Murphy and go into business digging holes!
Both the ferrets were jumping about and playing, first Snowflake bit Mr Brambles on the butt, then he nipped her behind the ears and so it went on!

Gotcha Again!
Back home we had a big bowl of chicken waiting for us which I don't mind admitting, went down a treat!

OTL went off to do his work up in the office so Holly and I settled down for a snooze, but Holly suddenly said, 'We haven't had a chew for ages!'

Off she went and stood behind OTL and woofed, one of her 'I Want Something' woofs!

OTL, being aware of the different woofs we use, turned around and asked Holly what she wants.

Now that's a bit daft 'cos we can't speak Two Legs, we just have to sort of woof and then go to what is wrong or what we want. You know, back door equals wee time or front door means walkies!

Well, OTL followed Holly down stairs and into the kitchen and she sat in front of the 'Goody Cupboard'. Now, it doesn't take a genius to work out what Holly wanted and before long the pack of chews appeared and was being opened by OTL.

Mmmmmmmmm! You could sniff these chews a mile off and pretty soon I was there, standing behind Holly and watching OTL open the pack!

Joy oh Joy! We both grabbed the chews from OTL and rushed off to have a very pleasant gnaw!

You know, there are days when just a little thing causes so much pleasure!

We spent some time having a chew then sort of fell asleep until something told me it was lunch time!

A quick woof at OTL and we were off down to the Sea Wall again. OTL spotted another butterfly sheltering from the stiff breeze blowing in off the sea.

OK, what is it?
There you go, your starter for ten! I'll give you a hint, you have seen it before on here!

Holly wasn't too happy about the heat, she said that it was just too hot for her and at every shady spot she just had to stop for a while in the shade. You know, she was even walking behind and to the side of OTL 'cos that means she can walk in his shadow!

Roll on Friday!
We are off to have a rest by the side of the pond so bye bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly (Hot), Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles (Asleep)!
