The North Wind Doth Blow!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles here!

What a change in temperature! It was super sunny yesterday and warm as well. This morning it was cloudy, windy and a darn sight colder that we have remembered in a long time!

Chilly Chilly!
In fact, it was so cold that Old Two Legs decided to leave the ferrets at home and take them out at lunchtime.

We had a good run, catching the sniffs as they came in from Southend on Sea at about forty miles an hour!

Too Fast, let's stick to the Local Sniffs eh?
After a while we got fed up sniffin' Southend and instead investigated to local sniffs!

Back home we had a nibble of breakfast but today we just didn't feel like eating, you know, we sometimes get like that for a day, then the next day we are stuffing everything we can find down our throats!

Holly has been getting all possessive about a chew she pinched off me last night and I have great fun in pinching it back when she's not looking or when I pretend there is a cat in the garden, have a woof, then as she rushes over to the window to investigate, Super Swift Daisy Dog just flies in and grabs the chew and is off to the bedroom as quick as lightening while Super Soppy Holly is still looking out of the window!

Lunchtime came and OTL decided that a run with the ferrets would be a good idea, only the ferrets didn't fancy the idea 'cos they were too warm and sleepy!

Not today thanks, it's just too comfortable here!

That was it, we had OTL to ourselves again! Well, that was until a Bozo Westie came galloping over the hill towards us!

Hello Girls!
He came rushing up to us, a quick sniff then on he went straight up to OTL for a 'Tail Tickle' and a rub behind his ear!
Hey! It's OTL!
Holly and reckon he's just a big Tart!

OTL has been busy trying get rid of a pile of paperwork that arrived while we were on holiday, so we have been snoozing and 'Chew Chasing'!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

The Ferrets Return!

Hi Ho Woofers!

It's Us Again!

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles!

All back home again and sniffin' out any changes in the 'House Sniffs'!

Holly and I were out first thing checking the Sea Shore for new stuff an' sniffs. No rabbits this time but we were a bit late in getting out today!

OTL got hold of a couple of miniature Camcorders that are small enough to hang on our collars, so first thing I was selected to try out this 'Daisy Cam'!

..........are you Sure it Turned On?
Wot a load of rubbish!

Look! No Camera's on Meee!
OTL has got to do some work on mounting the thing properly 'cos hanging it from my collar, under my chin was a bad decision!

This needs Re Engineering!
We spotted a Curlew out on the mud and told it to 'Stand Still' while I took it's picture!

This is my best side!
All you could see on the camera was my feet, my whiskers under my chin and a load of other stuff that we couldn't make sense of!

Better luck next time OTL!

After our walk it was straight off to collect Snowflake and Mr Brambles. We stayed in the car when we got there 'cos there was a couple of big ugly looking dogs down the other end of the garden and we didn't fancy discussing who had 'Rights' in the garden!

OTL went in and opened the cage door only to have both Mr Brambles and Snowflake jump into his arms for a cuddle and Snowflake even licked OTL on his chin to show how pleased she was to see him again!

Mr Brambles snuggled down and licked OTL's hand and asked if it was time to go yet!

Pretty soon Snowy Heights was dismantled and put in the back of the car, the ferrets were strapped into the back of the car and we were heading down the road towards home!

Once home, both ferrets went potty! They were jumping up and down all over the place Dooking or as OTL calls it 'Chuckling', you could definitely see that they were pleased to be back!

Next OTL did the 'Kit Inspection' which involves us animals submitting to a close inspection of all of our body and legs and ears and tummy and tails and feet and teeth!

He does this every time we have been in 'Dangerous Places' such as were we are likely to pick up things like ticks or fleas and nasties like that!

It was when he was checking Mr Brambles that he spotted a lump with a scab on top!

After cleaning it he saw it was a lump with what looked like two puncture marks on top!

Even closer inspection found another small one!

That was it, not sure about what he was looking at, OTL telephoned the vet and in no time flat there we were outside the vets.

I stayed in the car well outside the vets 'cos there is no way I'm going in that place because of my 'Blue Coat Syndrome'!

Well, the result was this, 'No tick bite, no insect bite but it looks like a wart that he must have picked at or Snowflake might have nibbled at!

While he was there OTL got them to put on some anti flea stuff onto their shoulders, just in case.

That was it, all we had after that was OTL crying at the vets bill!

To compound it all, OTL stopped off at Tesco's to get us some chicken and treat the ferrets to a carton of Lactose Free milk which I'm sure they will absolutely love tomorrow morning!

So, we are off for a chicken dinner this evening!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly Snowflake and Mr Brambles (All together again!)

We're Back!

Hi Woofers!

Just to let you know, Daisy & Holly are Back Home!

We got back about mid afternoon and it took ages unloading the caravan, there was so much card stuff to unload before we even got to the 'Propper Stuff'!

I wouldn't mind but The Missus took all that stuff away with her, including several evil looking machines and what did she make?

ONE CARD!

At least Holly and I got wet and cold and hot and bitten by a Tick and upset tummy from eating something on the beach and lost and found and in trouble and out of trouble and in trouble again for chasing squirrels and , and, and,.....well the list goes on for ages!

We had a super time and now we are looking forward to going to collect Snowflake and Mr Brambles tomorrow morning!

Tonight TM and Old Two Legs are off to the Chinese for some more Rice and stuff and of course, more Plawn Clackers (White)!

We have also been promised some Lambs Heart for dinner tonight, so it looks good for tonight!

Oh, yes, I forgot, OTL has an unopened pack of shortbread, so with a slurp of English Whisky inside him he should be ripe for a bit of mugging!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Holly gets 'Ticked Off'!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again.

I'm feeling fine now, just an itch every so often from my cheek but that's about all.

Old Two Legs got all artistic this morning and tried to get a good silhouette of a tree but as Holly pointed out, it was too sunny!
A 'Silhouette' it 'aint!
Later, after our run around the forest path as normal, we got back to a good towelling down to get rid of the dew we picked up from the grass.

Problem was, Holly had picked up a tick over the last couple of days!

It was chomping away just under her chin!

Old Two Legs spotted it, he's getting Hyper Sensitive to little lumps on us puppies!

Show Off Holly, just rolled onto her side, stuck her chin out and let OTL take the tick off with his special Tick Removing Tool!

For that act of bravery, she got four puppy milk choccy drops, instead of three as normal after our morning brush!

I was a bit put out and said it wasn't fair 'cos I didn't get any choccy drops when my tick was removed!

'The reason for that' says Holly, 'Your tick cost sixty quid to get removed and that's a ton of Choccy Drops!'

I still felt cheated!

This morning OTL took the awning down, which is always a sad time 'cos that means the holiday is coming to an end, but we still had this afternoon to have some fun.

So, Holly and I started to work on OTL, you know, woofing and snivelling and pawing at the door. So, he packs us into the car and off we go, only to end up at the Lynford Stag again! This is not where we wanted to go!

On top of that, the stag we saw looked dangerous, especially as someone had painted his Doo-Dahs!

Lynford Stag with Doo-Dahs'!

OTL managed to get a half decent picture of a Comma Butterfly.

As I said, it's only Half Decent!
Back at the caravan we still kept up our woofing and snivelling until in the end he got the message,

'WE WANT TO GO TO THE BEACH!'

So, off we went to Cromer Beach, not as big as Tichwell but just as much fun but with no rabbits or ticks!

We had a super time on the beach chasing each other and splashing in the waves!

We just Love a Splash!
Best of all were the sand cliffs, we went tearing up them and then fell down and ran up them again and then we went into 'Climbing Mode' just like OTL used to do but without the ropes and hard hat!

Ice Pick and Crampons Next!
Holly had a great time as well learning how to climb and with the prospect of a rabbit or two she really did well.

Holly about to have a go!
Only problem, no rabbits!

I searched as hard as I could but there was not a sniff of a rabbit anywhere. A few rats but we tend to leave them alone as they don't run as fast as rabbits and are not so much fun to chase!

Back down on the beach we chased The Missus all over the place and OTL was getting all artistic again!

Reflections.
Then we spotted him, all alone, sitting in the middle of the beach, 'Oh! No!' says Holly, 'They've got Them up Here As Well!

More Swimming Worms!
Well, that's it for now, back home tomorrow but we have been promised chicken tonight, as a treat!

We will still try mugging OTL for the shortbread though, well, it's tradition!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Squirrel Guard!

Hi Woofers!

It's us here, Daisy & Holly.

What a super day it has been, loads of sun shine and even a gentle breeze!

When I woke up this morning, that nasty head ache had gone and I was feeling just like myself again!

So, I jumped on top of Old Two Legs and woke him up with a good ear licking and even Holly joined in, just for fun!

It was most enjoyable having a walk in the woods, but we did keep an eye open for those tick things!

I'll watch this side and you keep an eye on that side!
After our morning walk we were going back to the caravan when Holly pointed out that it is only on the 'Official Caravan Club sites that everyone has to park in line and put the car on the correct side!

ATTENTION! Get in Line you 'Orrible Caravans!
We were back in the caravan having breakfast when I spotted a squirrel across the other side of the road, hopping about looking for nuts to bury. I went potty! I just flew at the window and woofed and whined and snivelled and woofed some more!

The squirrel just turned left and disappeared into the bushes!

You know, I stood there on 'Squirrel Watch' for the next twenty minutes, just in case he came back!

The Missus wanted to go out to a 'Wood Carving Country Fair' to see one of her mates who had a stall, yes, card making!

So, off we went, woofing all the way down the road and sticking our noses out of the window to do some 'Speed Sniffing' .

When we got there we had to park the car in a big field and walk all the way down to the show. On the way to the gate I decided to have a poo on the path and Old Two Legs had to pick it all up. As he was doing that a woman walked past and wrinkled her nose up and made a 'Disgusted' look on her face.

Holly reckons she is one of those people who doesn't poo!

OTL was interested in the wood carving tools and also in a very old sawing machine that was powered by an old steam traction engine.

A Chip off The Old Tree!
As far as Holly and I thought, it just made a noise and loads of saw dust which made us sneeze!

When we got back to the caravan I was back onto 'Squirrel Guard' and we even had a 'Squirrel Patrol' just to check if there were any hiding behind the tree trunks!

OTL said we should keep an eye open for the deer that live in the forest as well.

Holly said that they carry ticks as well!

We decided that we will have a gentle evening watching a DVD and nibbling on OTL's shortbread as he finishes off the English Whisky!

Tomorrow it is 'Clear Up' time, 'cos we are back home on Tuesday and back to work again, well, OTL is!

It's going to be good seeing the ferrets again and we hope that Snowflake and Mr Brambles got our postcard we sent!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

P.S. My cheek is still a bit sore but it's getting better!

I'm a Tick Free Zone!

Hi Woofers!

It's us again, Daisy & Holly!

Sorry about the short blog last night but things were a bit 'HeckTic' if you know what I mean!

I went to bed with the tick still chomping away at my cheek. In the morning it looked a bit bigger, according to Old Two Legs, so, out with the computer to find a local vet and start dialling on the telephone!

We got an early appointment with the local vets practice but there was only nurses in and no vets. The nurses said that a simple tick would be no problem and she would have it out in no time!

You know, she never even saw the tick before giving up and running to the telephone to talk to a real vet in their Bury St Edmunds branch!

That was it, into the car we went and landed in the vets place and sat in the waiting room waiting for all the other animals to go in before us.

I got woofed at by a big black hairy thing and sniffed at by a small bald thing and hissed at by a cat with a sore paw who was sitting next to us!

Then it was my turn.

In we go and OTL explains about the tick and my 'Blue Coat Syndrome'.

'Ho Ho' says the vet, 'I'm sure we'll get on just fine', and then she tickles my ear and sticks her stethoscope onto my chest.

It was about then that I managed to climb up OTL and was almost sitting on his head! It was only then that the vet said that maybe OTL being there didn't help matters, so I was taken out the back for them to try to check my pulse and see the tick.

About three minutes later they came back and said that they couldn't check or see anything and maybe an anaesthetic would be the best idea!

OTL did suggest that they try the La-La pill we gave to Holly to calm her down before having her hair cut but the vet didn't feel happy with that and gave OTL an estimate for the anaesthetic treatment!

It was OTL's turn to 'Not Feel Very Happy'

You know, OTL does go into shock so easily nowadays!

Well, OTL and I were parted and he had to wander the streets for an hour and I got a needle stuck into me and I was off into La-La Land.

I awoke with a thumping big head ache and I was a bit wobbly on my legs as well, but after an hour I was let out of the cage and marched out to see OTL waiting for me!

We both got out of there PDQ and I crashed out in the car with this headache still crashing around between my ears.

The good thing was, the tick had gone, and my cheek was a bit sore but wet with some antiseptic cream the vet had sloshed on my chops!

I slept all the way back to the caravan and OTL put me on the bed and I crashed out again!

Holly has asked that we put on the pictures from yesterday down on the beach where we both got in the poo again and I got the tick!

So here goes!

First of all Holly has chosen this one 'cos she says she looks good having a roll!

Jus' Rollin' Around!
Next she wants this one 'cos she thinks it's funny 'cos it looks like she is shouting into the sand!

Is there anyone there?
I like this one 'cos it shows me 'Paw Surfin' 'cos it wasn't deep enough to swim in!

Me, doing a Beach Babe Paw Surfin!
This one shows the beach and the storm that missed us!

That was close!
This is after we went off chasing rabbits and me getting a tick and us both getting in trouble with OTL for running off on our own.

No, this time it Definitely was Your Fault!
By the way, we were both covered in those nasty burrs and that's how OTL spotted the tick!

Today has been an 'Eventful Day' and I promise not to pick up any more ticks this holiday!

See you tomorrow!

Daisy (Sore Head and Chops!) & Holly

Good Day, Rotten Ending!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here.

Today has been super, beaches and rabbits and........................A Tick!

Old Two Legs has been trying to get this tick out for the last three hours but I get too nervous and jump away and wriggle and throw myself all over the place.

So you will excuse us today, the blog is going to have to wait until tomorrow, unless I let him take the tick out!

See you soon!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly (Tick Free!)

A Grim Day full of Grave Depressions!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again in the wilds of Norfolk!

What a day we have had! This morning we saw our first squirrel in the camp site!

Now there used be loads of the little things running about but last year they were all eradicated, (shot) by the Forestry Commission 'cos they were attacking the cars and eating bits of the cars!

So this year when we are out sniffin' around, no squirrels!

That was until this morning!

Old Two Legs was having his breakfast and I was resting on the cushions behind his back, when, across the roadway, sticking it's nose out of the bushes, was a squirrel! I couldn't believe my eyes! It hopped and skipped it's way across to the middle of the roadway and sat there looking at me!

I was gob smacked, I couldn't do anything but look at it!

Then it stuck it's tongue out and that broke the spell, I went potty, woofing and howling and doing my 'Squirrel Chasing' dance all across OTL's breakfast!

Holly looking for the Squirrel!
OTL was not very happy!

I've not seen the squirrel since but now that I know he is about I'll be watching for him!

You can also bet that he has his mates around as well, just waiting for the next car to arrive!

After doing all his chores, OTL loaded the car up with his camera gear and looked like he was about to go off and leave us in the caravan. Back he came to the caravan door and said 'Goodbye' to The Missus. Holly was sitting there at the door looking up with her best 'Can I Come as Well?' look on her chops. I did the same but from the seat by the window.

That was it, he couldn't stand the look in our eyes and said 'Pass the Lead'

We were off!

The plan was to visit Grimes Graves down the road a bit. Now, we had seen the signs but didn't really know why OTL wanted to visit a graveyard!

When we got there it looked really strange! The ground looked like the surface of the moon, all depressions and craters!
Jus' look at these old holes!
We headed off to the 'Visitors Centre' and OTL had to pay some money to the man behind the cash register and in exchange he was given a booklet and instructions to go into the 'Interactive Display Room'.

We all piled in and OTL started to press buttons to start some recordings of the description of the site.

It seems that the site was names Grime Graves after the Anglo-Saxon god Woden or Grim. It's where we get Wednesday or Wodens Day from!

Now these are not real graves but instead they are the remains of Flint Mines dug in the Stone Ages, in fact the Neolithic (5000 years ago!)

Holly and I had great fun chasing around looking for rabbits and sniffin' down their holes but none came out to play.

Come out Mr Rabbit!
We would have had more fun if OTL had let us off the lead but a notice at the gate had told us that dogs had to be kept on leads!

Come on, let us off the lead!
Of course, while we were sniffin about, OTL spotted some fungi, so there he was, on his belly, trying to get a good shot of the fungi while we were pulling on the lead trying to get to the next rabbit hole!

A Grim Fungi!
In the end he tied us to a bit of a tree root that was sticking out of the ground!

This is just Not Fair!
After we had been around the site a couple of times and chased a couple of imaginary rabbits, we got put back into the car!

Now, we didn't like that, especially when OTL locked the car and headed back to the visitors centre!

Next thing we see is OTL with a red plastic hat on, climbing down into the ground on a ladder!

It's a long way back up!
Well, he disappeared into the ground and didn't come back up for at least half an hour!

When he did get back to the car he told us all about the hole and what he had seen down there and how he had stood where Neolithic man had stood 5,000 years ago!

The hole was about 10m deep and there were galleries leading off to the sides where the miners had followed the flint layer deeper into the ground.

See the galleries?
On the way down into the hole you could see the flint in the walls.

See the Flint in the walls.
Looked a bit scary to us and Holly wondered if there were any rabbits that deep?

It's a Long way down!
Before too long, OTL had finished looking at the hole and had come back to us, all safe but a little  grubby where he had been crawling about in the chalk!

Off we went for another wander around the pits and he found a Puff Ball fungi growing and we didn't find any rabbits!
Baby Puffball
By the way, we have a Tank mounted at the entrance to our camp site and I thought you may be interested in seeing it. Say Hello to Little Audrey !

Little Audrey
Back at the caravan TM had been playing about with her cards again and had produced a card using kitchen foil, it don't look too bad. Now she is looking for thicker foil to make another one!

I can sniff chicken being cooked, so we know what is for dinner tonight!

See you tomorrow, and we may be back down the beach again!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Sand, Sea, Rain and English Whisky!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

Last night after uploading the blog, The Missus says to Old Two Legs, 'Can we go out for something to eat?'

Seems, she was fed up with cooking and fancied being 'Wined & Dined'.

'Wot about The Girls?' says OTL, knowing that dogs aren't allowed into restaurants, why not get another Chinese?

Well, that was going to be the best offer TM got, unless she fancied eating fish and chips in the car!

That Chinese meal was super, Holly and I managed to mug some King Prawns off OTL and we also got stuck into the 'Plawn Clackers' again!

I had three or four but Holly got stuck in like they were going to be put away for breakfast, she had six!

After dinner, OTL started on his brand new bottle of English Malt Whisky! Yep! English Whisky!

Now we know that OTL does love a good West Highland Malt Whisky and he has his favourite ones that he keeps going back to, but, he will always try a new one, just in case!

Well, the colour wasn't as dark as the West Highland Malts and although it had the peaty start, it lacked the Sea Air that get into the West Highland Malts but it had some very interesting flavours. OTL reckons he could sniff chocolate and citrus and caramel. Of course, if he let us have a sniff we could give him the complete run down but he says he wants to enjoy the discovering all on his own!

A New Taste and distilled in Norfolk!
This morning we over slept and the reason was, when we woke up at our normal time it was chucking it down with rain, it was like a flock of pigeons running up and down the caravan roof! So Holly and I turned over and went back to sleep!

Our 'After Wake Up' snooze!
A bit later on the rain cleared off and the sun tried to come out, well, that was all we needed, OTL, get yer coat on, the beach is calling!

The first thing we did was to have a run on the sand, then we headed off to the water for a cooling paddle.
Holly cooling off!
Next was a play in the sand, Holly just loves diving into the sand and rolling about all over the place!

Here's Holly!
Then next was another dip in the water, just to wash to sand off!

Come on, Back to the sand we go!
Then it was back to have another dive into the sand and dig a couple of holes, just for fun!

I Jus' LOVE Sand!"
I was having fun running around and kicking sand up all over the place, I chased Holly and then she chased me and then I got a sniff...........................................Rabbit!

This is so much fun........................Wossat?.....Sniff?.............Rabbit!
Off I went over the dunes and close on my heels came Holly, we were going like The Clappers of Hell! OTL came chasing after us and although it took him some time to find us, he did manage in the end. Of course, you know what happens next..................we are put on the lead again.........Deep Poo!

No, it was your idea to chase the rabbits, not mine, I just wanted to have a look at the view!
We headed back to the car, two rather worn out puppies. We had to go through the RSPB bit and all the Twitchers looking at the birds and giving us odd looks 'cos they think we chase birds! As if!

As we got close to the entrance, we heard a twittering sound coming from up in the branches and spotted a robin there jumping up and down and saying that dogs were not allowed!

Holly said that he should come down to our level and discuss it further and does he taste like chicken?

Well, that was it, off the robin flew back to his mates, that was him sorted!

No Dogs Here!
Back home we had Lambs Heart waiting for us and it tasted sooooo gooooood!

It wasn't long before we were both back on the bed having our 'After Eating' snooze, but that's where we started out from this morning!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

He's Back!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with the Blog!

You know, he didn't come back last night at all! We were half expecting Old Two Legs to come marching in just before we went to bed but in the end The Missus had to take us out for our 'Late Night Wee' and as OTL wasn't here, we got most of the bed to ourselves!

Well, Holly got to cuddle up to TM and I took over OTL's pillow. Well, if he's not here then the pillow is up for grabs!

Our walk this morning was not the usual one 'cos TM is all worried about us getting ticks from the forest, so she took us to another place that was full of trees and grass and ferns (Tick Heaven) but Holly and I didn't stay too long, well, we don't want to get any ticks!

We were back at the caravan having our midday snooze when a car pulled up next to the caravan, it was OTL!

He got out of the car and was outside waiting for us to welcome him back. Now, as you know, OTL is tall while us puppies are small, so what OTL does is to crouch down so we can jump up and give his nose a lick.

This time he crouched down but Holly and I had got a bit of speed going and we both landed on OTL's lap at the same time, knocking him flat onto his back!

We jumped up and down on his chest and licked his nose and ears while he waved his legs in the air!

We were glad to see him back and showed it by demanding he took us out for a walk!

We didn't have time to go down to the beach again so he took us to The Leyton Stag.

Now, we have never seen a stag before and I know this one was made out of wood and little Two Legs play on it, but, if ever I saw a real one that size I think I would run away!

Holly was more interested in knowing a bit more about the stag!

How big do you think his poo is?
OTL took us for a long walk down a track between the trees. There were no stags or deer or any other animals except us!

Spooky!
That is one long track!
Of course, OTL spotted some butterflies and he even managed to get a shot of this one that was sun bathing on the path!

A Speckled Wood
Back at the caravan, TM was still making cards and bashing away on her computer, such a busy TM!

Tomorrow she has promised to come down to the beach with us and have a game of chase through the dunes!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly
