Another Hot Day!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles back with you again!

This morning it wasn't so hot when we went out for our morning constitutional, a sort of 'Cloudy but still warm' if you know what I mean!

The tide had started to go out, so no swimming, but I reckon in a couple of days or so it should be deep enough for a splash!

Miss Snowflake was having fun pretending she was a 'Sniffer Dog'!

She started off by investigating the sniffs on the beach, approaching from 'Up Wind' as Holly had taught her.

She said that she could sniff a Woofer!

Mmmmmmmm, Woofer!
Then she followed the sniff along the beach until, there, sprawled all over the sand, was a Woofer!

Right says Miss Snowflake, I know what to do when I find a Woofer on the Sand!

She crept up, slowly and quietly, with no rustling the lead and at the very last moment she went ........

BOO!
Well, that scared the Tail off of Holly Dog who was relaxing and trying to catch a few rays!

Mr Brambles said that he was 'Keeping Out of Trouble' and instead tried to scramble up the sea shell cliff but as fast as he was moving his legs the faster the sea shells were falling down the cliff face!

In the end he gave up and climbed up the Rock Face saying it was 'Easier'!

This is just too much like hard work!
Back home we had Ox Heart again, super stuff! It seems that The Missus cooked too much yesterday so we got the second half today!

We're not complaining, anything is better than Doggy Scoff!

Well, while we were eating our Ox Heart, OTL sneaked out, arms full of stuff and he disappeared!

It was not the result we wanted, we wanted a run in the New Park, a swim in the Swimming Hole and a roll in something really smelly!

OTL got back about one thirty, so after a 'Hello Lick' we shoved him into the car and off to the Sea Wall again!

This time he took all his Macro stuff and a tripod, he is still looking for a good Soldier Beetle shot but today, they were all hiding!

Mind you, we met up with Oscar again and he told us that Lady is not his mates name, it is Bonny!

We had been calling her Lady for ages and she was just too polite to tell us off!

Oscar said he was getting on well with his new family and had an 'Episode' with a well matured bone under the TV Cabinet!

He said that he was getting well fed and plenty of exercise and tomorrow he was off to meet some more of the family, a Husky and a couple of Gerbils!

As Holly says 'Whatever turns you on!

Let's face it, we've got to get on with a couple of ferrets!

Now, OTL is still looking for these Soldier Beetles and he set the camera up but nothing, not a decent bug anywhere, so, not to be beaten, he took some pictures of the flowers along the path!

Depth of Field not too good, front in focus but the tip is fuzzy!
Then he found this one. It was good to see the three stages of the flower. First the bud, then the pollen-producing stamen and then the carpel that has been pollinated!

Three Stages in one shot!
Down the path a bit we saw this Snowball and next to it was a larger one but this had produced seeds and was waiting for a bit of wind to disperse the seeds.

Producing the seeds.
It was interesting seeing both stages again!

Waiting for a strong wind!
Then as there were no beetles and worse still, no rabbits, it was back home for a snooze in the shade.

If we get the sun tomorrow, there are two new lily flowers that should bloom. We'll get OTL to take a picture to show you.

Bye bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

It's another Busy Busy Day!

Hi Woofers!

We're back again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

This morning it was just great!

We got up late, had breakfast of Ox Heart and wandered down to the Sea Wall all sort of relaxed and full and behind time!

Holly and I both tried to chase some rabbits but to be honest, we were just too full up and there was no way we were going to catch them!

By the time we got to the beach, the tide was well on it's way out and Holly, saying she was just Too Hot even walked into the rock pool to cool her paws off!

Just Cooling My Paws!
Now, that was most unusual 'cos normally Miss Holly doesn't like anything to do with water!

It was really hot down there and there wasn't a single cloud in the sky!

Just to show you what it was like, here is the sky!

It Don't Get Much Bluer Than This!
As normal, the ferrets spent so much time in the grass, ferreting about, that Holly and I just collapsed into the shade of some grass to wait for them!

They do take Soooooo Loooong!
We were discussing just what there was for a ferret to take such a long time sniffing when we heard a big 'Hellooooooooooo Girlie's!'

It was Barney again!

As normal, his first stop was to have a tickle from Old Two Legs!

Hi OTL!
Then he got a bit worried 'cos he spotted the ferrets in the grass and was concerned 'cos he thought they were going to pinch his ball!

So, after a quick 'Hello & A Sniff' he was off and gone!

Both the ferrets had stopped and were crouching down trying to look like nothing interesting so Barney would leave them alone.

I'm not sure who was the most scared, them or Barney!

Like, I'm not even here!
Mind you, Miss Snowflake was still playing jokes on us 'cos at one time she suddenly stuck her head up and shouted 'Rabbits!' Which had Holly and me tearing back down the path to see!

Look! Rabbits!
This afternoon the sun had gone in and the clouds had arrived, bringing some rain as well! OTL had brought his big camera and a Macro Lens plus a tripod and a remote shutter release cord and a 'Plamp' that clips onto the tripod and holds the plant still when the wind is blowing.

He was going to photograph some Soldier Beetles, but as it was raining  he left all the gear in the car and took his small camera instead!

We spotted some beetles but the wind was so high and the plants were waving so much that we don't think he would have got a reasonable shot anyway!

Hanging On Tight!
The poor beetles were not very mobile over the thistle 'cos the wind was threatening to blow them off!

I wish I was on the Ground!
Most of the day has been spent watching OTL doing stuff in the office. Now, he hasn't delivered any of it, so, tomorrow we reckon he will be off and down the town, so we're keeping a close watch on him 'cos that could mean a stop at the New Park!

Claws Crossed!

So, bye bye for now, see you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

OTL's Still Sneezing and keeping us awake!

Hi Woofers!

It's us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

We have been a busy dog today. First there was our morning stroll and Holly spots a rabbit on the path and tries the old Creepy Creepy Tactic but  only manages to get as close as fifteen feet away before the rabbit does the 'I'm Gone' and vanishes into the bushes!

A Rabbit about to Disappear!
She does try though!

Down on the beach we had a race and just for once, I let her win!

Mind you, the way she kept on going on about winning I think next time I shall run circles around her and still come home first!

Holly Wins, Holly Wins, Holly Wins, Holly Wins, Holly Wins!
The ferrets were splashing about in the rock pools and 'Ferreting About' in the sea weed.

Mr Brambles said it was 'Just Like Scotland'!

Does this remind you of somewhere?
It could be Scotland but there are no mountains and the ground is muddier!

It's a bit muddy!
Miss Snowflake found a waste water pipe outlet and shouted 'Helloooooo' and was surprised to hear an echo!

WhooSatSayingHellooooooo?
When he heard the Helloooooo, Mr Brambles ran up the steps thinking it was a Nargle or a Monster up the pipe!

Let's get the Ferret out of here!
Back home we got chicken and biscuits and the ferrets got Kibble and a Malt Biscuit.

They also got a change of bedding, so, Mr Brambles was the first to stretch out on the cushion and have a snooze!

Lunchtime we had a look out of the window and although it wasn't raining, it did look a bit dull!

Old Two Legs was still sneezing his head off, keeping everyone awake, I mean, we didn't get our full mornings snoozing and you know what we are like if we don't get our snoozies!

The ferrets are terrible and show off good and proper if their sleep is disturbed!

OTL had a 'Result' on our midday march along the sea wall. He spotted the first soldier beetle on a thistle this year. They are normally ground dwelling but get up on top of the thistles to mate and generally have a good time!

Am I Too Early?
The tide was out, so I didn't get my swim but we did meet a new doggy!

We were on our way back when Lady came bounding over the hill and made a bee line for OTL to get her tummy tickled!

Behind her was a young Boarder Terrier who was new to us all. He stood back a bit, then came for a sniff and we returned the complement. He seemed a well behaved woofer and we allowed him a run around without telling him off!

Hello, my name is Oscar!
OTL gave him a stroke and a tickle as he passed in front of OTL but he wasn't too sure about being stroked too much!

Of course, Lady was there, tucked into OTL's legs enjoying a Tummy Tickle and also getting her ears rubbed as well!

Wot a Tart!

It seems that Oscar is about two years old and made the mistake of snapping at one of the children in his old home, so he was shipped off to the 'Rescue Centre' in Suffolk where he was seen by his present owner.

He has only been with his new home for about six days, so he is getting used to a big change!

He is allowed off the lead and comes when called, ('cos there is a treat when he does!) and he gets on very well with Lady.

After some more running and sniffing and treats he finally decided that OTL wasn't a threat or anything like that and allowed a tickle behind his ear!

I think I like OTL after all!
We will be seeing loads more of Oscar, so keep your eyes open, we could have some fun in the future!

OK, I'm off to see what OTL has for dinner, something tasty I hope!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

It's Another Doggy Scoff Day!

Hi Woofers!

We're back again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

You will be pleased to know, we didn't wake up Old Two Legs or The Missus up last night, the cats stayed away from our window!

We did our normal 'Puppy Patrol' around the house during the night, finishing up the Ox Heart I had left in the bowl for our 'Midnight Nibble'!

I even managed to beat Holly to the bowl!

I like these cooler nights, you can get a good sleep curled up at OTL's feet and wake up all relaxed in the morning!

Our jog on the beach was fun, the ferrets discovered that the tide had pushed all the sea shells further up the beach than normal and had left a big cliff to climb!

Come and give me a leg up!
It took them both a little while to work out a route, mind you, Miss Snowflake kept telling Mr Brambles to 'Get a Move On' and that didn't help!

Come on Brambles, move yer Butt!
Mind you, after a while even she was out of breath!

This makes you Puff!
Holly and I were taking the Micky and calling them 'Short Legs'. That was when Miss Snowflake rushed up to me and made me jump by nibbling me!

She Got Me!
Mind you, I didn't stay around to return the complement!

You know what? Holly and I were up the top of the hill waiting for them and looking out for rabbits when she tried to sneak up on me again!

Nearly There!
You just can't trust a ferret!

Mind you, we can't trust OTL either! We got home and he was banging and crashing about in his office. Sticky Parcel Tape and Brown Paper means he will be out delivering or dropping stuff off to the carrier.

We didn't let him get further than three feet from us.

We followed him everywhere!

Then we were in the car and staying there!
As we suspected, it was the carriers first, then a shop and then.............The Forest!

We haven't been to the Forest for ages and ages and we didn't even know if the Heeland Coos were still there!

Of course, the first place to check out is the Mud Hole and while OTL was trying to take some pictures of the Flag Iris's, who should wander into the shot?

Miss Holly Dog!

The Mud Hole is still here!

We carried on through the forest and as we went through the second gate, there, under the shade of the trees, gently munching away on some bracken was................

The Heeland Coos!

We shouted 'Hello' and told them we had been up to Scotland and had seen some of their family on the Isle of Mull.

They carried on munching and then said..............'What's Scotland?'

Never heard of Scotland, can we eat it?
Holly and I decided to leave them to munching and go hunting squirrel instead!

Well, we saw a couple but they were just too fast for us and shot into the trees as quick as a flash. So, we decided that we would come back in the Autumn when they should be fatter and slower!

There goes another!
It was good to see the trees were still there, well, most of them. The woodmen had been cutting the trees down to make an open space but we reckon that it should be left as a forest 'cos it's more fun like that!

Good to see your still here!
After the forest we then headed off to the Doggy Shop where OTL played a game with us. He went in with a basket and instead of heading towards the 'Treats' section, he headed for the Poo Bag and Disinfectant section, loaded up the basket with stuff and said 'That's it Girls, Off we go!'

We couldn't believe him! No Treats, no Nibbles, no Fillets!

Then we saw the grin on his face and knew he was 'Pulling Our Tail'!

We got back to the car and both had a couple of Duck Fillet Strips while he got everything put away!

Back home for another Duck Fillet before having a snooze!

We know how to live!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

He's Left Us Again!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here.

We are not a Happy Bunch today. Old Two Legs took us down the beach for a run this morning, as we do.

We had a look at the clouds and the ships sailing by.

After the rain comes the sun, but not much!
We could see a rainy squall out to sea but there was a bit of sunshine poking through the clouds.

Mr Brambles impressed us all with his 'Wall of Death' run and Miss Snowflake thought he was going to roll over because he was going so high up the wall!

Holly said we should rename him as Mr Whizzy!

Mr Whizzy takes off!
Back home it was Ox Heart for breakfast but while we were eating OTL sneaked out with a load of stuff he had to deliver.

Now that was just not fair!

What was worse, he didn't come back until after The Missus took us for our midday walk!

It appears he has been all over the place and then ended up at the Dentist!

He has to go back again next week, they want to hurt him and then take money off him!

These dentist people sure know how to upset OTL, Pain AND Money!

Well we spent most of the day catching up on our sleeping, so maybe that means we will be 'Light Sleepers' tonight?

Those cat had better watch out, we will know if they are around and we'll be after them!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr (Whizzy) Brambles!

A Ferret tries sniffing like a dog!

Hello Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

It was super and cool this morning, a gentle breeze blowing in off the North Sea. That means we can do a bit of running and chasing and Rabbit Hunting as well!

Mr Brambles even asked us to explain just what it is we are sniffing and what we look out for as we sniff.

Well, ask a dog about sniffs and the answer could last all week, and a bit more!

So, we tried the 'Simple Explanation'!

Now, first you approach from 'Up Wind'
I explained that if you approached from 'Down Wind' you may pick up other sniffs that had nothing to do with the post or tree.

Mr Brambles seemed to get that point!

You start at the top and work your way down the tree or post.
Holly took over and told Mr Brambles all about 'Following the Sniff' down the post and to make sure you gently sniff and not 'Snort' at the sniff!

Mr Brambles was following Holly's instructions but just couldn't get right up to the top or 'Start' of the sniff. He had a good try and stood on his hind legs but still wasn't tall enough!

Holly told him to try the area around the post 'cos some times doggy's 'Miss' the post!

Mr Brambles does the 'Perimeter Sniff'!
After that Old Two Legs picked Mr Brambles up and carried him the rest of the way to the beach. He asked OTL to check to see if there was a splinter in his nose 'cos he'd been sniffing close to the post!

I'm not sure but there is a sharp bit here!
OTL had a look but there was nothing there.

Down on the beach we were tearing up and down the beach having a great time. I even decided to try some 'Low Level Flying'

Zooooom!
On the way back Mr Brambles tried to explain how to sniff like a dog but Miss Snowflake wasn't listening, 'I'm a Ferret and a Ferret Sniffs Like This!'

I don't care, I Sniff Like This and This How a Ferret Sniffs!
Going back to the car OTL spotted a rabbit on the path and told Holly. Well, off she went like a Steam Train, pounding down the path, I was stopped waiting for any other rabbits who got spooked by Holly's charge and Mr Brambles was doing the 'Ferret Stalk', just in case there were

Rabbit Hunting, Woofer Style!

The Missus had cooked our Chicken, so when we got back it was 'Tail Up and Nose Down' followed by a snooze in the Office!

This is the way to spend a Sunday!

Now, I know you are going to be excited about this, the pond has been 'Maturing' over the last two years. There have been bugs living in the pond and plants have been growing in there as well. The Lily Plants we put in put on a show last year but this year they have been really growing well. The round leaves are much bigger than they have ever been and this week, the first bloom has opened and there are three other buds getting ready to open as well!

The first bloom this year!
Now, there is another section of the garden that OTL has been 'Nurturing' and that is the 'Wild Flower Corner'.

He put a plastic sheet over the patch for a year and expected that all the weeds had died. Next, throw in a couple of logs and a tree trunk from next door, drill some holes to make a home for bugs and finally, leave it to do it's own thing!

We expected loads of wild flowers and buzzing bees and creepy crawlies but it looks like, at the moment, to be a big weed patch with a couple of Poppies fighting for breathing space!

Well, he tried but we will see what happens next month!
We are now off to see what OTL has for dinner, being Fathers Day we are expecting it won't be burnt, whatever it is!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

A cooler day, but it's still Muggy!

Hi Woofers!

We're back again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Last night The Missus was out with some of her 'Glue & Glitter' mates. Old Two Legs had to play 'Taxi Driver' for the evening and of course we were late to bed!

Not that it allowed us to stay in bed a bit longer 'cos TM had us up early to get  all her stuff up the hall for another of her 'Master Classes'.

The only ones allowed an extra snooze were the ferrets!

Down on the beach the sun was hiding behind the clouds, which was OK by us, it was still muggy but we didn't have the heat of the sun on our backs.

Holly still said it was too hot to go running about all over the place!

No thanks, I'll just have a rest here!
The ferrets were happy that they could run along the Sea Wall without getting their paws roasted!

Come on Girl, get yer tail in gear!
Miss Snowflake was in a good mood 'cos she kept jumping on Mr Brambles back and nibbling his ear!

Come on, Gissa Cuddle!
Heading towards the car we spotted a rabbit on the path, Holly was off like a shot while I stayed back and watched. Of course, she didn't get anywhere near him before he disappeared into the bushes!

She'll never make it!
Back home to a bowl of Doggy Scoff! Well, we both had a sniff and decided to have a snooze instead, just what is she feeding us?

When we went down the beach at lunch time the tide was in and I was wondering about a swim but I decided that the lack of sun would mean I could be shivering by the time we got back to car!

So, I stayed out of the water and instead went to inspect the fish the fishermen had caught.

What a sorry sight!

It wouldn't make even a mouthful!

Last of the Monster Fish!
Further along I spotted a Bozo on the beach and he had Sarnies! By the time Holly had arrived he finished the last one!

Curses! Maybe next time we'll be lucky!

Quick Holly, he has a Sarnie!
We had a bit of a surprise later, there we were, sniffing the sniffs when Holly called out that she thought we were being stalked!

We're being followed!
Then, from out of nowhere there was a woofing and yelping as three Westies came crashing out of the undergrowth!

We caught you!
We weren't sure if we should run or stay!

Come on Gang, sniff them!
Holly and I soon worked out that they were friends and we had a fun five minutes. OTL got a 'Hello' from all of them and by the time the owner arrived they were all jumping up to lick OTL's nose!

There's another one here!
Of course, they wanted to play but the owner wanted to go the other way, so, out comes the lead and the older woofer got clipped on and of course, the other had to follow.

So it was Good Bye for now and see you next time!

See you again soon!
It was good to get home and have our afternoon snooze while OTL went to pick up TM.

I think that OTL has curry tonight, so that means we have got to be all big and brave and go back to the Doggy Scoff.

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.
