Back to Normal'ish!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles back again!

I am glad to let you all know that things have now returned to normal, well as normal as normal is in this house!

Lets face it, who would think it normal to run off to a place with loads of snow, on your own and spend your birthday, on your own and call it normal?

Old Two Legs has always been a bit strange like that, you know he has even been climbing the mountains on his own when his mate couldn't come with him!

Well, today he set off with all of us to explore the wilds of Grain Seashore!

The wind was howling and the snow came in horizontally and the wild bears were chasing us across the sandy beach!

Not really but you could imagine that OTL would think that was great fun!

Instead it was a little quieter than that!

All the Sniffs are Frozen!

 Due to the cold, the sniffs had no real information to give us and Holly said the only sniff she had found was me!

You know, she even started whinging about the water being frozen and she couldn't get a drink!

Look! The water is all hard!

 We had a bit of a laugh at Miss Snowflake 'cos she did her normal thing of climbing all over the Sea Weed to have a wee but got stuck between two rocks and OTL had to got and rescue her before she fell in the cold water!

Help! I'm stuck between a rock and a wet place!

Mr Brambles stayed on the shore and gave OTL such a pitiful look that OTL picked him up and gave him a cuddle until they got to the grass!

I marched up and down the beach looking for the Bears, but I couldn't find even a sniff!

I see no Bears!

 Back onto the grass Holly reckons she could sniff bear wee but I said it was Barney Number Two 'cos I recognised the sniff!

It's a Bear! No, it's Barney No 2!

 Back home we got some new Doggy Scoff which didn't taste too bad and I had a chew on it and almost finished the bowl but Holly said it tasted like Sheep Poo, which I have tasted and it's not too bad!

Anyway, Holly marched off with her nose in the air saying that she wasn't going to eat it and she was off hunting for old chews that she could sniff under the bed!

OTL was working away and had to go into the lift for some stuff, so, Holly and I got him to give us a lift up there and we went off in search of Nargles!

We didn't find any but it was still good fun having a rummage about in the corners!

No, no Nargles here either!

 We made a big fuss of hunting about that OTL was dead impressed with our search technique, so much so that he said he would ask The Missus for some real food for us tomorrow, you know, Steak & Rice!

You mean real, 'Real Food'?

 Well, that's all that Holly and I have been talking about all afternoon!

I wonder if TM will Braise or Stew the steak?

Claws crossed, we may get some real food soon, if not, Holly says that she will fall over on the footpath and just 'Fade Away'!

Right, we are off now to see what OTL has for dinner, I hope it tastes nice and is 'Muggable'!

Home Alone!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here!

Today has been a weird day, Old Two Legs stayed in bed a whole half an hour longer than normal, naughty OTL!

Down on the beach Miss Snowflake fell into a rock pool while having a wee!

That made her jump!

It's enough to turn a girls hair white!

 Pretty soon she came running back to OTL asking for a warm towel!

OK, no towel, put me back in the bag for a bit then!

 Just as she was climbing into the bag, Holly and I heard a lot of woofing from over the hill!

There be Woofers over yonder hill!

 We were rushed back home and in a flash both OTL and The Missus disappeared in the big car and saying they will be back later!

That was it, left all alone with nothing to do but woof a the passers by!

OTL arrived back at lunchtime, took us for a walk on the Sea Wall then dumped us back indoors and off he went again!

Holly and I are going to have a serious talk with him tonight!

Back to Normal Again!

By the way, did we tel you He's Back!

Of course we did and last night Holly and I cuddled up to him and I gave him a good licking on his bald patch, just to show we're pleased to have him back!

When he left Glencoe yesterday it was frozen ice and snow all over the car and it took some time to get it all off. When he did set off it started to snow again!

It got heavier and thicker the higher he went up Glencoe and by the time he got up to the Ski Lift it was almost a white out! Low cloud, horizontal snow and a big traffic jam 'cos someone had slipped off the road into a ditch!

Scary or wot!

That Snow Plough is Bigger Than OTL!

By the time he had got to Rannoch Moor the road had almost disappeared and was replaced with compacted show and ice, but the blizzard had stopped!

Hello Rannoch Moor!

The sun was trying to break through and while it never made a 'Full Blast Sunrise' there were moments that made him go 'WOW!' So he just had to take a photo!

All the road to himself!

Once he had cleared Rannoch Moor, he said he felt a lot safer, at least he could see the road under the ice and snow. The snow plough  had been out and it had spread salt all over the place. One thing you can say about the Scots is that they know how to handle snow!

The Snow Stopped!

I mean, down here in The South, two snowflakes fall and everything grinds to a halt!

Just imagine what would happen if they woke up to this!

Just a Dusting of Snow?

 Soon he was heading down to Tyndrum where the famous Green Wellie Shop is and that's where he stopped and took off his 'Cold Weather Gear' ready for the drive back home.

So, after that it was a long drive back to us!

Now, OTL will put away the pictures for a few months before he edits them and throws the duff ones away and saves the 'Keepers'.

I've managed to snaffle a few before he transferred the files so.........here they are!

We're off to see what we can mug from OTL's dinner plate, well, it's better than the Doggy Scoff we get!

Well about eight tonight he got in and after over five hundred miles and Snow Blizzards, White Out and Snow and sleet and rain and sun shine and slush and motorway driving and more rain, He's Back! He's Back! He's Back!

He crept in and as soon as we spotted him it was Licky Licky all over his little bald head!

Even the ferrets joined in in giving him licks on his ears and his cheek!

Miss Snowflake got all emotional and then licked his hand and Mr Brambles cuddled up and gave him a special licking in his nose!

I think you will agree that we are glad he is home.

Now, it's off to bed and a cuddle.

OTL and a White Out!

Hi Woofers!

It's us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

It's just not the same when The Missus takes us out. Like this morning, we jumped from the car and ran onto the grass to have a sniff when, there, in the corner of my ey, I saw, RABBITS!

Now we haven't seen them for a while, so it was good to know they were all OK. I set off at Mach 8 and a little bit more, heading for the furthermost rabbits. Holly was right on my tail and keeping up with me.

We went past a few rabbits who were just finishing off their breakfast and said 'Good Morning' to us as we came steaming through!

Of course, they disappeared back into the bushes and down their warren before we arrived, but it was good fun.

Now, normally Old Two Legs would have joined in the chase but TM just stood there calling us back!

I mean, does she really think we are going to take any notice?

We have heard from OTL, it seems that it was snowing while he had breakfast and later brightened up a bit as he went through Oban in search of 'inspiration', he didn't get much there, so, back he came and visited a park the call The Lochan, OTL has sent a couple of pictures, then, as the sun came out he dashed back up into Glenco and onto Rannoch Moor again to grab some more pictures, then, quick as a flash, he was off to the Ski Lift to grab a couple more.

That's when the trouble started.

It seems the snow was chasing him up the glen 'cos just as he got into the car park, a blizzard descended and he couldn't see any further than ten metres in front of him! 

He called it a White Out which means that all he could see was, white!

That was it, the end of his day!

He very carefully crawled back down the glen, bouncing off the drifts of snow and arrived back at the B&B where he got a big welcome from Hamish and Daisy.

I don't mind them looking after OTL for us while he is up there but we need him back down here!

Let's face it, we haven't even given him a Happy Birthday Lick yet!

News from the Wild Lands of Scotland!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

It has been fun teaching The Missus what paths to take on our walks, Holly did suggest that we took her into the bushes at the Rabbit Hunting Ground but we didn't think she would fit into the bushes, so we left that one for later!

TM has been playing with the ferrets 'cos she won't take them out for their morning run, so she has to make up for it by giving them loads of Ferretone, Cuddles and Ferret Nibbles!

Mind you, that didn't stop Mr Brambles and Snowflake from throwing a strop and kicking their Poo Pots all around the cage!

When they were allowed out Miss Snowflake spent most of the time chasing TM and the Battery Powered Carpet Sweeper!

I'm afraid the pictures of us are not up to Old Two Legs standard!

Why is she photographing our bums?

 To make up for TM's effort, OTL has zapped some picture down to us of his day's 'Clicking' around Glencoe!

Up by the Ski Lift he found this cottage and I think it may be good for running around the heather but can you imagine what it would be like for the Tesco's man to deliver the groceries!

No gas or Electricity?

 Now I ought to mention that OTL has decided to convert all of the pictures to Black & White 'cos he wasn't too happy with the 'White Balance'. If you want to know all about that, ask Mike!

Now this one was up near the top of Rannoch Moor where it was getting a bit 'Hairy' according to OTL. He says that there were vans being blown off the road and into the ditches!

 It's amazing just how trees manage to grow in the most unlikely places, this one was trying very hard to look all grown up, but it was doing a bit of a 'Shiver' every time a big truck went past!

Cold Innit?

 The last time OTL and Alun were up here they went down Glen Etive but OTL decided that this time he was going to 'Pass' on a return trip to sea the eagles!

Now, OTL mentioned that there were two Woofers in the house where he is staying, Hamish and Daisy.

Hamish is on the left and Daisy on the right.

Hamish looks like a Ruffty Tufty Yorkshire Terrier and Daisy is a Shiatsu.

Daisy is totally blind but that doesn't stop her from bossing Hamish about or it seems, playing games with OTL!

Now I know OTL is wonderful but I'm not too sure about this other Daisy getting too familiar with MY OTL!

Snow, Snow and Snow!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here!

Well, it's going to be a short blog today. Old Two Legs finally got out of the door at eight this morning, said 'Good Bye' and headed off to Scotland.

We had a couple of telephone messages from him on his way up to Glencoe and it seems all was going well, up to the time when his phone wouldn't answer and we couldn't get him at all!

It seems that the snow was a bit more and a bit deeper and it was piled up at the side of the road so he couldn't park up!

He has managed to get one picture back via email and I must say, it looks cold!

Rannoch Moor!

OTL took this from inside the car when he stopped for a moment. It was almost dark and the blue sky it the reflection of the car lights off the snow!

Not sure what he plans tomorrow but it's bound to be fun!

We have been out with The Missus and we had to show her the places we go with OTL and she followed on without shouting at us too much!

Poor Archie Babe seems to have been attacked by Ticks from inside his garden, nasty things they are, but the best bit was the vet was supposed to have got them off and instead he missed a couple!

Don't worry Archie Babe, they won't kill you but the vet will make a nasty hole in you wallet, just ask OTL!

Holly is a bit jumpy tonight and I think she is missing OTL more than she says, so we will have a cuddle tonight and both of us will share his pillow!

He's Off Again!

Hello Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here once more!

What a day!

We were out down on the beach having some fun with the ferrets!

First of all, we met up with Bonnie and Oscar, the Border Terriers and while Old Two Legs was having a chat, Mr Brambles stuck his head out of the bag and got the fright of his life, Oscar said he wanted him for breakfast!

Mmmm, Ferret, Egg and Bacon!

Needless to say, Mr B sank back into the bag and blew a big raspberry!

Down on the beach Brambles was still going on about his harness and how it can hide him from everyone and to prove it, he crept up on Miss Snowflake and went Boo in her ear!

Can't see me!

 Snowflake didn't seem too impressed and said she could not only see him but she could hear him as well!

Not only Hear him but Sniff him as well!

The funny bit was, while she was looking at Brambles, she didn't spot OTL creep up on her until the last moment!

Yikes! I didn't see you there!

The new suite arrived today just after the people who were supposed to collect the old one had left, without the suite!

How about this for a mix up!

OTL telephoned this charity who offered to take away our old suite and then sell it and make some money for the charity. Up turns a couple of lads who inspect the suite and then say they don't want it 'cos one of the handles is broken!

OTL said that the broken leaver was explained to the man who arranged the collection but these two decided they wouldn't take it!

OTL was not happy!

There he was, the old suite in the back garden and the new one coming in the front door!

It looks dead posh and Holly and I are looking forward to testing it for 'Snoozability' tonight!

A telephone call to the council later and OTL has arranged for the suite to be collected on Friday!

OTL has been looking at the web cam up on the ski slopes in Glencoe and has seen loads of snow down the bottom of the glen, so he has decided to do a quick dash up there with the camera. Alun, his cousin, can't get away so OTL is going on his own!

Now, because of the snow being right down in the glen, OTL thought it may be a good idea to be prepared for too much snow, so, he was out this afternoon buying a set of Snow Chains for the big car!

We bet he will never need to use them but it's a good idea to have them, just in case!

He has booked a B&B in Glencoe village, complete with en-suite and a connection to the Wi Fi, so he will be able to keep in touch with us by email!

So, an early night and an early start for him!

We will have to show The Missus the path and the beach but she says that she won't walk the ferrets, but she will clean out the Poo Trays and give them a run around the house, providing they don't poo every where!

As if!

We'll try to get TM to take some pictures but don't hold your breath!

Back to Work, but not fo us!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here again!

You know, we just love the fact that The Missus and Old Two Legs are retired and what work they do is done mostly from home, so, that means we have got company all day long and can snooze of go out 'Walkies' when ever we want!

Holly said that she used to get really bored when her first family all went out to work and that's why she used to chew the skirting board and get in trouble!

Not now, if she fancies a chew there's always the bit of rawhide chew to be found under the sofa or behind the bed!

This morning, while everyone was asleep, I found a bit of Rawhide Chew under OTL's pillow, just where Holly left it yesterday afternoon!

Tasted Great!

This morning's run was a bit drafty, the sun had got up and then gone back to bed, no sign of him anywhere!

The ferrets were showing off their new harness and trying to get us to believe that they help make them run faster!

Yeah, right!

Of course, Mr Brambles was showing off his 'Camouflage Harness' which he says keeps him hidden from Eagles and Nargles and other dangerous animals!

Once we got off the beach and onto the Sea Wall, Snowflake spotted OTL had stopped to adjust something on his camera and while he was doing it, the ferret bag had fallen open!

Is that a Bag I see before me?

Trouble was, she wasn't quick enough and OTL was walking away just as she got up speed to chase the bag!

On the grass path Holly reckons she could sniff Stoat Wee in the grass, just where Snowflake had spotted it yesterday but I couldn't sniff it at all.

I think she was just trying to wind me up!

Well, I can't sniff it at all!

I did suggest that Holly had been sniffing Brambles tail again and that's why she had Stoat Wee on her nose!

Lunchtime, OTL had some deliveries to do and of course we went along as Security Guards!

Just for a reward, we went down to the Riverside Park, but before that we went down to the Sea Wall again!

We met up with Mr Corvid who was showing off his 'Closed Wing Flying'!

Hey Girls, catch this!

Next we were off down to the Bank, the first on our list of 'Places to Go'. We stood guard in the car and woofed off anyone who came close!

Then off for a couple of deliveries and on the way back we stopped off at Riverside Park!

I must admit, it was a little rainy and the wind was blowing in off the river. There were a few woofers down there but it looked rather deserted!

Down the path a bit we spotted a Two Leg Bozo with a camera! Our OTL isn't the only Bozo with a camera!

 Holly and I had some fun running over the rocks and chasing each other!

I had some fun first of all hiding and then creeping up on her when she wasn't looking!

OK, here we go, creepy, creepy up on a Holly Dog!

It was all good fun but we were glad to be back home in the warm for a snooze before 'Mugging Time'!

OTL has got Gammon tonight so Holly and I are looking forward to some nibbles from his plate!

Tomorrow the new suite will arrive and the old one will be taken away, it's just in which order will they arrive!
