Getting Ready for The Show!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here!

Wot a busy day! We were up early to get The Missus off to her weekend of Craft & Carding up in Daventry. Old Two Legs forgot the card for the camera, so no pictures of ferrets this morning!

Still, OTL has spent all afternoon grooming the pair of them and don't they look 'The Business'!

That is until Brambles goes swimming in the water bowl and then rolls in his poo tray!

We have prepared a notice to tell everyone about how they came to live with us, what do you reckon?

We are, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Miss Snowflake is a four year old Albino Jill and Mr Brambles, a Sandy Hob, we think, is six years old.

Snowflake turned up in the back garden on a cold 27th December a couple of years ago and was spotted by the dogs, she was hiding under the shed. She was brought inside and given some Ferret Kibble and a lump of raw chicken.

She stayed in the shower for about a month until we found her last owner who agreed to pass on ownership to us.

She had seventy four ticks that had taken up residence on her and were removed over a three day period.

She used to be a 'Working Ferret' but had suffered some trauma at some stage causing abnormal bone growth on her spine and rib cage. Lucky for her, it doesn't cause any problems, nor does it stop her chasing Mr Brambles around the house!

Mr Brambles came to us from the Harrietsham Ferret Rescue Centre, to live with us as a friend for Miss Snowflake. He has two toes missing from his back leg but it looks like a birth defect rather than an injury. He is the perfect gentleman. He loves cuddles, Chasing Games and Dog Biscuits, which he pinches from the dogs bowl every morning!

Us ferrets are walked every morning on the beach and in the grass field at Isle of Grain, for about an hour, together with the two dogs, Daisy & Holly. Life is good and we have now both found our 'Forever Home'

There are a couple more photos showing Brambles raiding our biscuits and Snowflake in the shower when she first arrived.

That should get a few Oooo!'s and Arrrr!'s and it saves us keep explaining how they come to take over here!

Lunchtime we were out down the beach, with the camera but no ferrets!

We had a run along the beach and on the sand and then OTL says we got to 'Pose' so he could include us in the Ferret Information Notice, but in the end we decided it was for the ferrets and not us!

What are we doing on a Ferret Info Sheet?
It was more fun chasing each other up and down the beach!

Catch me if you can!
I had a great time digging a hole that was almost a hundred feet deep, honest!

Me and Me 'ole!
Holly was practising her 'Commando Crawl' that she uses when she is sneaking up on rabbits!

Silent as a Mouse and Fierce as a Lion and invisible as a Fart!
We had a game with OTL, we would go off into the grass for a sniff or a wee and he would hide. When we looked for him he was gone, so using our super sensitive noses, we hunted him down!

I Gotcha!
This afternoon we have been cleaning the ferret Show Cage and sorting out some bedding for them.

Mr Brambles is getting all excited about tomorrow and the possibility of maybe meeting his son, Buddy, again!

We'll let you know what happens!

Bye bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Happy Birthday Missus!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here!

Well, we woke up really early this morning and sang our 'Happy Birthday' song to The Missus who was up early as well!

She was looking at all the messages that were coming through on FaceAche saying Happy Birthday!

The only down thing was , 'It's Raining'!

Now, as you know, Holly just doesn't do wet, in any form! So, when OTL helped us put on our rain coats we were expecting howling gales and floods everywhere!

When we got down to the beach the rain had eased off but hadn't stopped, so Holly was still showing off 'cos she doesn't like rain drops on her nose!

It's still raining!
Down on the beach both ferrets were running around the rocks investigating the hiding holes of the 'Big Slimy Monster'!

Here! This tastes all salty!
We didn't hang about too much and were glad to get back home to a nice warm cushion and a snooze.

The ferrets were having fun rampaging around the house playing 'It', you know, one would chase the other until they managed to grab them and call out 'You're It'!

Snowflake is very good at it but Mr Brambles is sneaky 'cos he hides behind the cupboard and jumps out and grabs Snowflake as she goes past!

Gotcha! Now You're It!
Old Two Legs and The Missus had to go out delivering stuff and then up to the Craft Shop for TM!

We headed out at lunchtime and this time OTL took his B&W camera with the Yellow Filter 'cos the sky and clouds looked quite dramatic.

Looking over towards Southend on Sea the clouds were super but the sniff of Kebab and Chips made us hungry!

Southend & Kebab!
We headed off and Holly was wondering if they had any Kebab Shops in the village!

I just fancy a chew of a Kebab!
OTL spotted some foot prints in the mud, going out from the beach where the Wormy Man had wandered out with his Fork and Bucket.

We couldn't see any foot prints of him coming back!

Where's the Wormy Man?
Holly pointed out some tracks over to the right and we decided not to mount a search!

Instead, we headed off to the Rabbit Hunting Ground and shouted down the hole for them to come out, but they didn't!

There's no one home!
Back home OTL had got another order come in and he spent the afternoon 'Manufacturing'!

The sun came out and the rain headed off and we went to inspect the Frog Spawn. Nothing new, the little frogs were still growing but hadn't got to 'Tadpole' stage yet!

TM is off tomorrow to a weekend of Crafting and Glue, so she should be having a good time while we make a mess on the sofa eating nibbles and chews!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Getting Ready for The Big Day!

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Well, we have found out what Old Two Legs was up to the other day, he had to visit the Two Legs Vet! Seems like he got a infection and needed some 'Get You Well' pills!

So, now he is walking around bumping into things!

Holly reckons he needs some Worming Tablets!

Wot a wonderful morning today! The Sun was shining and there was just a gentle breeze blowing in from Southend on Sea, which this afternoon brought in the sniff of Kebab & Chips!

This morning we were late in getting to The Beach, so that gave the Sun time to get up and brighten everything up.

Miss Snowflake stopped for a wee on the way!

Hang on a Mo!
When we finally got to The Beach we met up with The Lads who were having a break before heading off to the end of the Sea Wall.

Yo Lads! Got any Nibbles?
OTL got Mr Brambles out of the bag and Bryn came over to say 'Hello' and have a sniff!

Yo! Ferrets!
Mr Brambles went off looking for his Rock and still couldn't find it. He even started to call out for his rock to 'Put You Paw Up'! Trouble is, rocks don't have paws!

Well, jump up and down then!
Snowflake just couldn't believe that Brambles was making such a fuss over his rock!

Oh! Wot Is He Doing Now?
Back home we had Lambs Heart waiting for us, all warm and it even had some gravy on it!

Lunchtime the sun was still shining, Holly and OTL were playing Shadows on The Sea Wall!

Shadow Games!
We even started to dig a couple of new holes. Mind you, Holly ended up sitting next to OTL on the beach catching a few rays!

I'll start mine here!
Back home we left The Missus sitting down stairs and got her present from the hiding place. Then OTL got the wrapping paper out, (Christmas Paper!) and we managed to get it wrapped before TM came up stairs!

You see, TM has her birthday tomorrow and we are going to wake her up with a loud 'Happy Birthday' song we have been practising!

How old is TM?

Well, OTL says that there are three figures and a decimal point! It's deciding where to put the decimal point that is the problem!

So, we expect to see loads of 'Happy Birthday' wishes on Face Ache for her!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

A Chill Out Day!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here.

It has been a Grey Day today, we got up to find it was raining, not a good sign!

When we were ready to go out, Old Two Legs got our rain coat out of the airing cupboard. Holly was not happy. You see, Holly just doesn't do wet.

She doesn't care if it's waves, puddles, wet grass or rain.

She doesn't do Wet!

You can imagine what a show off she becomes when OTL puts our rain coats onto us? Well, she did it again, she put her head down and wouldn't get close to OTL!. He had to pull her towards him before he got her coat over her head!

It was lucky that when we got down to the car park, the rain had stopped!

Down on the beach, Brambles still couldn't find his rock!

Snowflake sat on her rock and told him he should have been more careful when he put it away last!

No Dear, this one is Mine!
Holly and I were nosing along the beach when we heard a big load of woofing, like a few dogs having an argument!

Lucky for us, we didn't see them and we headed back to the car before the rain came back!

Who said Woof?
We got back home and as we were eating our breakfast, the pair of them sneaked off again, without us!

This is getting serious, I mean, not taking us, leaving us at home and then not telling us!

Lunchtime, the rain was still holding off, so we enjoyed a run on The Sea Wall and OTL took a picture which he called 'One Up & One Down'!

Walking on Two Levels!
Holly stayed up on top 'cos she didn't want to get her paws wet!

Further along I found a balloon and jumped onto it and gave it a good big bite! Out came the windy stuff inside and I happened to breath in at the same time.

It was really weird, my Woof went all Squeaky!

Weeeeeeeef! (That's a squeaky woof!)
We all had a good laugh about that and while I was getting my 'Woof' back, we all ran along the sandy beach.

Holly doing a 'Bong'!
I got my woof back and then pretended to be a horse galloping along the beach!

Now I need some 'Jumps'!
Back home it has been all work again and we still can't find out what's going on, however, The Missus has had her hair cut!

OTL has been on the phone and we heard him book a place at the Harrietsham Ferret Show!

This Saturday!

This is the same one we went to last year and Mr Brambles got a prize!

You can see the last show on http://harrietshamferretrescue.co.uk/News--and--Event.php

We were kept in a cage last time but OTL says that we will be allowed to sleep under the table.

I think that we will have to keep an eye open in case any ferrets decided to have a 'Ferret Around'!

So, if you fancy helping us support Harrietsham Ferret Rescue and of course meet us, then come along on Saturday, doors open 09:00hr and booking in from 10:00hr.

Harrietsham Village Hall, Harrison Drive, Harrietsham. ME17 1AP
A day of Fun 'n' Ferrets!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Busy Day Today!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here!

A sunny day today!

The ferrets were out of their bag well before the beach and they spent some time searching for a place to wee!

This looks like a good place!
Down on the beach Mr Brambles was hunting around for the rock he found yesterday but couldn't find it anywhere!

He was not a Happy Ferret!

OK, No One Move, I'm going to search every one of you!
As if!

Then it all went sort of pear shaped after that.

We got home to OTL making phone calls, then he was out in the car, (Without Us!) and then was back at midday, just in time for our walk.

He didn't take the camera with him but instead was sort of 'In A Hurry'!

He wouldn't let me go for a swim and he wouldn't let Holly run off and have a game with her mate the Staffy!

Most unusual!

Wot's more, when we got home The Missus was all ready to go out and OTL was into the big car and off they went, leaving us behind!

This is Not On!

They finally came home just after six!

We are going to interrogate them at dinner time, just when they want to eat!

We'll let you know if there is anything interesting!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Sunday, Lazy Funny Sunday!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

We love Sundays, you see there is no rushing about and the telephone is quiet and The Missus plays with her Glue & Glitter and Old Two Legs is a miserable as they come 'cos England missed out on the rugby!

You should have heard him, one moment cheering his head off and next cursing 'cos England lost by just one converted try!

We, of course, joined in with some supportive woofing but in the end it was Ireland who carried the trophy home!

We were down the beach good and early just to see what the tide had done. It was a very high tide yesterday and what with the wind blowing as well, the beach was washed clean of all the rubbish that was there a couple of days ago, including our holes that we had dug!

'ere! Me Holes Gone!
The ferrets stuck their heads out of the bag but decided it was just too windy and cold to get out early and instead they decided to wait until they got onto the beach!

No Thanks, we'll stay here until we get to the beach!
Mind you, they didn't stay long and were soon running for the grass path.

Mr Brambles did say that all the wind and water yesterday had loosened a rock and if we all gave it a push we could roll it along the beach for fun!

Yeah! On your bike sunshine

Look, we could Rock & Roll it a bit!
Back home the ferrets were having a great time exploring the 'Fun Palace' that OTL had put together for them. There is only two holes in the front, a sort of 'In' and 'Out' but it is full of toys and tubes and boxes full of packing material and loads of rustles with the brown paper!

Snowflake reckons it is Brilliant and even Brambles had fun exploring it and trying to dig into the brown paper!
The only problem is, Holly and I haven't worked out how to get into it and pinch the squeaky balls!

OTL had some paperwork to catch up on so this morning Holly and I  lazed on our cushions having a chew of our Rawhide Chews.

After all the work was done, OTL tried out the new printer on a couple of pictures he fancied seeing on printed paper.

Not bad, even if we do say so!

Lunchtime it was still chilly but the tide was almost in, so the fishermen were back but today.......

No Fish!
The water was splashing against The Sea Wall and some was even coming over the top!

More Splashy Water!
Holly said that she was just too fast for water to catch her but just at that moment........

Yikes!
 It got her!

Back home for more snoozes and a chew on our Rawhide chew.

At least there is no more rugby to upset OTL!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

OTL is building the Ferret Fun House!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here again!

Happy Saturday!

Old Two Legs has finished his 'Manufacturing' and the entrance hall is stuffed full of a kilometre of cable on wooden drums. He was hoping to get them shipped yesterday but was just too late for the carrier!

This morning, by way of a celebration, OTL changed the camera over to B&W and screwed the Yellow Filter onto the lens and off we went!

It was cloudy, but not the sort of 'Dramatic' clouds that OTL likes. Mind you, it was a bit windy as well!

OK, but nothing special!
Miss Snowflake was off and running as soon as she got out of the bag but Brambles hung about a bit trying to get warmed up!

In this wind I really shouldn't be moulting yet!
Snowflake came over and gave him a cuddle and a quick lick of his ear, just to get him going!

Come on Dear, We'll be home soon!
Holly and I were having a sniff on the beach when we heard a load of woofing further on down The Sea Wall, it was The Lads on their walk.

I'm surprised sometimes at the amount of noise a woofer can make!

Sounds like The Lads are on their way!
It was some time before they finally arrived, Holly and I stood on the beach watching out for them. You know we were standing so still Brambles thought we had frozen stiff!

Just to help us get going again he offered to start digging a hole and we could join in later to get warm!

Fancy a Hole?
Back home OTL sorted out all his jobs and finally got around to opening up his Printer Box!

Now OTL is a softy really so, instead of setting up his printer, what did he do?

Yes, he made up another 'Adventure Playground' for the ferrets full of cardboard tubes and brown paper and packaging material and boxes with holes in and, well it is almost full up!

Oh yes, all of their squeaky toys, so of which they have pinched of us woofers!

In the end it got put under the bench and now we await Snowflake and Brambles to wake up and investigate!

Down on The Sea Wall at lunchtime it was a Very High Tide plus a chilly 'On Shore' wind!

So, you can imagine what OTL was doing!

Yep! Clicking away at the waves!

Trying not to get wet!
Every time OTL got close to the edge a wave came crashing into the wall!

There's another one!
A bit further on there were two fishermen getting wet and cold! Holly was looking for sarnies but then a wave came crashing in and she decided to leg it!

Here comes another wave!
We met up with Henry, a sort of Westie with a history! he ran around us but wasn't let off the lead 'cos he would run away from his Two Legs!

I just love to run!
So, back home while OTL set about trying to set up his new printer. Well, he got it onto the shelf and that was it. He then spent some time clearing up and watching the rugby!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

The Eclipse and OTL's not a Happy Puppy!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here!

Have we had some fun today!

It started with Old Two Legs walking into the Clothes Horse Thingy, early this morning, in the dark and bashing his toe!

Oh Golly Gosh he said, in another language!

Then, when he went down stairs to get a bowl of Rabbit Food and some milk for the ferrets only to find there was no Rabbit Food, only a Bowl of Shredded Cardboard!

That went back into the box and he decided to suffer with a glass of orange juice and a cup of tea.

So, with that and the Ferret milk on a tray he headed for the office to Breakfast with The Ferrets as he does every morning.

At the top of the stairs he bashed his toe again which sent the orange juice flying off the tray and down the wall!

Oh Double Golly Gosh quoth OTL in that foreign language he reserves for such occasions!

That was it, the tea went down at lightening speed and we headed off to The Beach with the ferrets!

We were expecting a quiet walk but when we got there the car park was full of cars and down on The Sea Wall, someone had put up a tent thingy and there were a few Two Legs setting up their telescope to watch the eclipse.

Wot way is the sun?
OTL told us what the eclipse was, so we left them to get on with it 'cos the ferrets wanted a wee!

Both of them were hanging out of the bag and asking................

Are we there.......................
Pretty soon they were out of the bag and tearing around over the sea weed and of course, they just had to fall in the water!

Yuk! That was Wet!
Mind you, they both had fun 'Hunting Monsters!' and Mr Brambles fell in the water as well!

I got a wet and soggy paw!
We stopped off at the tent on the way back 'cos Holly could sniff bacon sarnies!

OK, who's got the Bacon Sarnies?
The greedy Herbert's had finished off all the sarnies by the time we got there, so, no strokes for them!

Back home the ferrets were having fun rampaging around the house and Brambles spent some time watching out of the bedroom window, but that was after he had spent time eating our biscuits!

You can't beat a good roll on the carpet!
OTL has spent today working so we have had to look after ourselves. Holly went looking at the frog spawn again and I did some reading about Tadpoles. You know they live off the fat in their tails?

I reckon Holly could live for weeks on her tail!

Lunchtime we were down the beach again and when we got down there, the people with the telescopes had all gone home. Now I'm not surprised 'cos we were looking out for the eclipse as well but it got so dark we couldn't see a thing!

Still can't see the sun!
Holly said that she was going to try flying again and set off down the beach at a terrific pace. You know, it was just enough to get her airborne but her ears couldn't provide the lift to get her right up off the ground, still she had a go!

Zoooooooooooooom!
I spotted a large plank of wood in the sea and asked OTL if we could take it home so we can make a surf board .

He said it wouldn't fit in the small car so we are leaving it until tomorrow and OTL says he will bring the wood saw to cut it to length!

Yeah! Ride the Waves with this!
Back home Holly and I crept back under OTL's Work Station and fell asleep while OTL finished off him 'Manufacturing'!

There is nothing better than a good snooze!
Still, the weekend is here and it's the First Day of Spring, now that can't be all bad!

See you tomorrow and it's England v France!

Bye bye.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.
