It's us again, Daisy & Holly!
Another super sunny day here in North Kent.
We went out this morning and the sun was absolutely beating down on us. We were even getting a bit warm running about!
Old Two Legs was playing about with the camera trying to take pictures, into the sun, with no success!
This one Didn't Work! |
We were walking back to the car when we heard an amazing sound of birds having a punch-up, when we saw the cause of it all Holly couldn't stop laughing. It seems that a Rook was collecting twigs for the nest it was building. A pair of Magpies didn't like the idea of the Rook muscling in on their tree, so, they were telling the Rook where to go!
'Oi' You, Get Off Of My Tree!' |
In fact, just to show how much she cared, she snapped a twig off the tree and waved it at the Magpies, then, just to add insult to injury, she threw the twig on the ground and stood there making a racket, 'cawing away to the Magpies!
.....and do you know what I'm going to do with this twig? |
OTL decided that the afternoon was too good to waste in the office, so he hung the sign up that said he was 'away on business' and picked up the camera and us and we headed off to The Marsh!
We haven't been down there for ages so there was loads of new sniffs for us to catch up on!
A good time was had in the Bird Hides and we had a serious woof at anyone who wanted to come into the hide!
Holly spotted a very rare bird, she said it was the Two Legged Lake Chicken and that it was more than likely to have been blown off course in the high winds 'cos it's normal territory is South Africa, on the mountain tops and in fact there is a mountain where they all go to eat Chicken and it's called Table Top Mountain.
So there!
OTL said she was talking from under her tail, again!
Holly just ignored him and kept on about how to cook a Two Legged Lake Chicken!
A tasty Two Legged Lake Chicken! |
That was until we got covered in burs from these nasty plants, so we had to go to OTL for him to pick them all off for us.
He's good at that sort of thing!
On our way back we spent most of the time asleep in the car and after dinner, we have spent most of the time snoozing as well!
Now we are off to give OTL a cuddle and see if he's got the shortbread out of the cupboard yet!
See you tomorrow!
Luv,
Daisy & Holly
Hi you two looks like the Magpies lost then, that nastie old Rook. XX
ReplyDeleteThat's one mighty Rook, good job he didn't have you two to deal with! Lovely being so warm makes you able to do so much more, collecting the burs just means you have more attention.
ReplyDeleteGood on the new bird species, it isn't in Mikes' book.
Beautiful picture of the Greylag...oooops....sorry, lake chicken! Great shot OTL!
