We don't do Rain!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Miss April and Miss May back again!

This morning when we got up it was raining, I mean, sloshing it down, filling the pond up a treat but Holly and I had other ideas!

Like, Go Back To Bed!

Old Two Legs got Miss Snowflake all dressed up in her harness, then he found our rain coats on top of Snowflakes cage and came into the bedroom so we could get dressed up.

Holly and I didn't move!

We sort of went all limp and floppy, so it took a bit longer but in the end we both had our rain coats on!

Now, Old Two Legs doesn't normally get us all dressed up unless we are going to get wet and we just don't do wet!

Especially Holly Dog!

So, there is OTL, down at the front door calling Holly and me to go walkies, Holly is tucked up on the bed, not moving a hair!

I got carried down stairs with Snowflake and  got clipped onto the lead. Holly still wasn't moving a hair!

In the end, The Missus went marching up stairs and returned with Holly tucked under her arm!

So, there we were, in the car with the wind shield wipers going slap, slap, and the rain pouring down!

When we got to the car park the rain had stopped but OTL wasn't taking any chances and we were clipped onto our lead and marched off to the beach!

Snowflake got a carry!

Down on the beach there was Mrs Corvid picking up a cockle, flying up in the air and dropping it onto the concrete to break it open so she could eat it. Holly had the pickle in her and chased down the beach pretending she was going to pinch the cockle!

Here comes Holly!
Of course, half way there Mrs Corvid has finished the cockle and has taken off searching for another one!

Beat Yah! I Beat Yah!
Holly pretended she didn't care but just for once she would have liked to give Mrs Corvid's tail a nibble!
That sorted her out!
OTL had to go out to work, so we didn't hang about too long and pretty soon we were back in the car and heading home to a big bowl of Doggy Scoff, YUK!

Lunchtime came and OTL had got home just in time to take us out again. May and April were a bit snoozy but they had sort of woken up by the time we all got down to the beach.

The sun had come out and it wasn't cold at all, in fact I even considered going in for a swim.

Shall I or Shall I not?
It was OTL who decided and told me 'NO!' just 'cos he didn't want to spend ages drying me off when we got back to the car!

Both ferrets looked at the water then rushed up the beach having decided that a swim was definitely not an option!

I don't care if it is warm, she's on her own!
After a run along the beach Miss May tried to get OTL to give her a carry back to the car but that was never going to work, let's face it, she needs the exercise!

Go on, I even give you a Licky Kiss on your ear!
OTL said that while May was a super little ferret, he was still keeping her away from his soft bits, like ears and nose, although she has given him a Licky Kiss on his cheek!

When you think back to Miss Snowflake when she first arrived, she was almost eating OTL at every opportunity until she worked out that he wasn't going to harm her and he had treats such as Ferretone!

Nowadays she climbs up onto his shoulders, licks his ear and has a cuddle under his chin!

So, there is hope yet for May and April and they are learning now that they shouldn't bite too hard when they are playing with OTL!

We are off to see if the Doggy Scoff has changed into something edible!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Miss April and Miss May.

  1. Hi Daisy and all my southern Godwin friends. Greetings from Cumbria. ..Yes that's right, I made it home, just in time for tea. We had a good journey back, even if it was raining and the lorries kept spraying so the wipers went swish swash.
That Mrs Corvid is certainly skilled with the cockles. Holly did try hard to get her though. You were very brave dipping your claws in the water, Daisy. It looked a bit chilly to me. I think the Page Three girls had the right idea running back up the beach. I think that April and May were very polite and we'll mannered when we met yesterday although I did heed OTL'S warning to keep away from the bitey end.
Did your doggy scoff turn into haute cuisine chicken chunks tonight. I've just finished my doggy scoff . I did try to practice your mugging technique but Dad had cooked VEGETARIAN sausage rolls!! So I ran away in disgust...Yuck!
Hamish says hi. He got all soppy when he saw me and tried to give me lots of Lickey kisses. It's good to be missed and it was quite a welcome.
I'll teach him the mugging technique tomorrow when there might be REALLY food on offer. Love, wags & sniffs from Izzy. Xxx
PS mum says that TM put my photo on a Faceache thingy and that lots of people said I was cute and adorable so I want to say thank you for your lovely comments. I promise to be like you, Daisy and not let it all go to my head. Xx

  2. I agree with you Daisy, it was a really yukky morning. I don't blame you and Holly for wanting to stay in bed. My mum got me to the door and I looked out and turned round and went back to the sofa for a few more snoozes. OTL and your TM are very harsh carrying you both down the stairs and making you go out. Poor Snowflake might have been carried off in that deluge. You're very brave going into the sea, the page 3 girls are quite sensible not joining you. I went out after the rain stopped and did some mugging of a few TL friends. Do you need me to get my mum to have a word with your TM about this doggie scoff in your bowl? Good to hear Izzy made it back home for tea time, I bet Hamish had a good sniff to see what sniffs she's brought home. Right I'm just off to check the clock and see if it's scoff time yet. Love, licks and wags, hope the mugging is good tonight. Little Arch xxxxxxxx

  3. It was a messy old morning on my drive to Bexleyheath this morning and big traffic delays, the coming home was easier and dry so no more work until next week. It sounds like a very lazy start to the day, if OTL wasn't having to work I bet you would have all been snoozing until lunchtime. Do you mean to tell me that TM was being quiet and not up at 4 am hoovering and crashing about, wow!!
Tomorrow we have a Daisy of our own here to stay for four nights but she can put her own raincoat on and do the buttons up, also she no longer has a lead!
I hope that doggy scoff turned into something better, you need warm succulent food when the weather is all mucky. Looks as though you got your legs half wet this morning so OTL needed to be on call with the towel. Glad Izzy got home safe and sound, a long journey but very exciting with all the different sniffs. April and May seem to be settling down, that is very good news, I wonder if they are more sociable to Snowflake or perhaps it is her that is not sociable to them? Have a lovely Thursday with a devine dinner. xxxxx
