A little rain!

Hoots Mon!

McDaisy, MacHolly, Miss McMay, Miss McApril, Miss McWendy and Freddy de McFerret here!

Well, wot a fun day we have had!

The rain stayed away all morning while Old Two Legs was doing his chores and cleaning and walking and feeding and all the other stuff he does including Miss April and her medicines!

We have finished with the anti-biotic stuff that was prescribed for her sore paw and as we said yesterday, it isn't sore but just a bit swollen, so we will be making a trip to the vet when we get back, unless it has gone down of course!

Mind you, that doesn't stop Miss McApril from exploring in the undergrowth!

Bet you can't see me!
All the ferrets had a ferret around in the Bluebells and were even digging in the moss!

I sniff Mouses!
After his chores, OTL loaded us up in the car and we headed off to Glen Garry where there is a single track road that leads nowhere but is twenty two miles long!

We managed to get out for a couple of walks off the lead which was great 'cos we aren't allowed off the lead in the caravan place and of course we have to watch out for cars running up and down the road!

There was one place we wanted to get out but OTL said it would not be wise, especially as we were making so much woofing noise!

Still, just think of it, if we moved up here we wouldn't be troubled with cats poo'ing in the garden it would be Red Deer poo'ing on the drive!

Come out here and say that!
There were some super views along the road but because of the rain OTL decided to leave the big camera and lens in the bag and instead use his small camera.

Glen Garry in the rain!
On our first stop we jumped out and were off the lead as soon as we got out, which was rather handy 'cos we both were in need of a wee and a poo! Miss Holly Chops was first to notice it was raining harder than when we first got out of the car and decided that walking off the lead is fun but a nice warm, dry car with the heater turned up was far more preferable!

Here, my tails getting wet!
Holly took the lead and we were heading back to the car at full speed, we didn't wait for OTL to pick us up, our names not Archie Babe!

Last one back is a Ferret!
Once we had arrived at the end of the road, we turned around and headed back! Well, we couldn't go any further so there was no point in hanging about!

About half way back the rain stopped, so OTL pulled over onto the side of the road and we headed out for another run off the lead!

Look! Sand!
This time we got onto an island in the middle of a flooded bit of the glen but the water level had gone down so we were able to walk across the rocks to the island. We even found a sandy beach, so I had a roll and so did Holly!

That was until OTL spotted us and told us to 'Behave'!

Spoil Sport!

Then it started to rain again, so back to the car!

We headed back to the caravan and OTL telephoned to The Missus to arrange for a couple of warm Doggy Towels to be ready for us when we got back!

We do love a good rub down with a warm towel!

That was followed by a bowl of chicken and a teeth cleaning chew then onto the bed to cuddle up to the Raccoon that has lost one of its squeaks!

So, that's it for today, the locals have forecast howling gales tomorrow so it looks like it could be another trip out in the car to look at the misty mountains!

Bye bye for now.

Luv,

McDaisy, MacHolly, Miss McMay, Miss McApril, Miss McWendy and Freddy de McFerret.

  1. Hoots back at you all you McGodwins. Wot an interesting day with lovely photos. Shame about the rain but at least it stopped at times. Love Miss April and Miss May in the bluebells but where's McWendy and MacFreddy? Hope you're not tempted to bring that deer back with you. Now, I'm wondering why someone would build a road that stops?????? Hope the forecast is wrong about the gales otherwise you might all be rocking in the caravan. OTL is so thoughtful, how nice of him to phone ahead to make sure you had warm towels waiting for you. Ooohh and a nice bowl of chicken too, you lucky girls. Just remember girls, don't eat anything up there that isn't served in a bowl, you don't want grumbly tums on holiday. Have a lovely evening and snuggle up if them storms do come. Love, little Arch and Mr Nipper xxxxxxxx

  2. Oh what lovely sites you have found, Glen Garry even in the rain looks wonderful. Sorry about the rain, we watched the weather forecast and a great wave of BLUE rushed across Scotland and we thought of you. No awning out again tomorrow by the looks of it so hope you are managing without it. How kind of TM to provide warm towels, I wondered how she warms them apart from wrapping herself up in them because the ferrets wouldn't be big enough to cope with two towels? Good to see you had run free even in the wet stuff, even had a roll, hope you don't take too much sand inside the caravan! We are off to Walton-on-Thames tomorrow so I may be missing but rest assured that when I can comment I will. Carry on enjoying the holiday, hope TM has managed to be very crafty and sorry that Mr Raccoon has lost a squeak. Love from us here to you there. xxxxxx xx
