Hi Woofers!
Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!
Wot a rotten day it's been, no sun, a little rain, horrid misty foggy stuff and on top of that Holly had a trip to the vets!
The weather has been so bad that Old Two Legs didn't even take the camera out today, and that's bad!
The morning run was done at double speed because the rain was starting to fall. We got home just in time and after the ferrets had been out for their rampage around the house, OTL made the phone call to the vet.
Now, Holly Chops has been troubled by an infection in her eyes. It's her own fault, she keeps burying her nose into the sand and gets all the beach onto her face and of course her eyes suffer!
Then, for some reason or other she has got an infection in her ear. Just the one ear, it is all red and sore and of course when she scratches it with her paw, it makes it worse!
We have had some stuff from the vet before but it didn't do any good so today we got out the big guns!
The vet has taken a swab from her ears and has sent it off for 'Culture Testing' which means that they are checking if for a fungal infection and they will 'Grow' the fungus and see wot it is!
In the mean time, Holly has been prescribed some anti biotic pills and some ear drops which, we hope, will reduce the soreness in the ear.
This all took about twenty minutes and cost OTL a fortune!
He was sobbing hysterically and wringing his paws!
I think he was putting it on but we got to get Holly's ears sorted!
So that's it today, sorry no photos but you can't do much with mist!

Yo maties, I'm sorry to hear that Holly chops has a sore ear and I hope it gets better very soon. I wonder wot will grow, do you think it will grow mushrooms? If it does then Mrs TM can use them in her new super doper food processing thingy bob wot she said she got on faceache. It's horrible when you get an itch wot you're not supposed to scratch. Poor OTL's wallet and just before his holiday as well. I hope he doesn't have to go without a nip or he'll have to stay home and take pictures of seagulls instead. Did you go to the vets with Holly to give her moral support? I've got to go on Wednesday for my butt check but that's ok cos they check my butt for free and then my mum doesn't get upset cos she doesn't hand over any dosh. Mind my last bill there came to 4 followed by a couple of other numbers and lots of 0's so my mum reckons they should be happy to check my butt. Now my butt is a tad itchy but I can't reach it with my paw. I've been on guard duty today but I did have my boy to help me and this afternoon me and him had a snuggle and a snooze and then we did some wrestling. I'm having an early night tonight cos I'm worn out with all the guarding I've done today. Paws crossed that the itch soon goes and Holly's ear feels much better. Have a lovely evening in the warm and dry and hope you get some extra special muggings, specially if Holly was a brave girl today. ReplyDeletePoor Holly not only sore eyes but a sore ear as well, I do hope nothing nasty grows in the little dish, could be mushrooms as Archie said or as I was thinking could be brussel sprouts either way TM will make use of them in her new food processor. Does she have any paticular plans on what to process, a bit worrying when she buys something that can do a lot of damage? What with Archies itch and Hollys itch it will be "You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours". Understandibly no photos today, OTL will have to do some "Still Life" photography or such like or he will forget what all those buttons and knobs do! xxxxxx
