Hello Woofers!
Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here!
It's been a fun day today, loads of sunshine, a panicking Missus, a Fearful Frog and a speedy Hissing Syd!
Confused? So were we!
Let's start at the beginning. First thing this morning we set off for our walk across the football field, Eric was wide awake, so he fell out of bed, got dressed in his harness and sat on Old Two Legs shoulder until he decided to get down for a walk at the goal posts. He started off slowly then gathered up speed and ran nearly all the way home!
Come lunchtime he was fast asleep cuddled up with Wendy and the pair of them were on their backs with their paws crossed, no walkies for them!
There was no swimming for me, mainly because it was low tide and all I could have done was swim in mud!
OTL only had his small camera and small lens but he did manage to get this shot of a Red Darter Dragonfly.
Looking at Me?
Back home we were just about to enjoy a snooze when we heard TM screaming her tail off for us all to come PDQ!
Now PDQ is akin to, (a) Kitchen On Fire (b) Knickers on Fire) (c) We are Being Attacked by Burglars!
So, out we all rush to see what she is doing. We get out in the garden to find her pointing to the Old Jar where we saw the back end of a Grass Snake sliding into the pond at high speed. It had obviously been scared by TM's alarm call!
It was here a moment ago!
Now we all thought it was great to have a Grass Snake living in our garden together with the Froggy's. That was until OTL said that Grass Snakes eat Froggy's and other amphibians wot live in ponds, maybe that is why we haven't seen the baby Froggy's of late!
Holly, being a nosy woofer went snuffling around the rocks at the side of the pond and found a Froggy hiding under a rock, too scared to come out while Syd was around!
I'm staying here until I feel safe!
Well, Froggy Chops stayed there all afternoon as well, he wouldn't come out until he had seen Syd slither off to her bed!
That was OK cos OTL could get a close up of Froggy's face!
We sat outside in the garden watching for an hour or so but there was no sign of Syd!
Holly and I will be keeping a close lookout in future when we go out for a wee in the garden!
See you tomorrow.
Luv,
Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.
Yo maties. Wow wot an exciting day you've had ...... you do have some interesting adventures in your garden. The most excitement I had today was chasing some pigeons off and stopping them having a drink. On a really interesting day I might even manage to chase off some squirrels and then go and dig up their nuts and eat them. So far I haven't come across a snake yet. Now I did take a little friend in the other night for a sleep over but when my mum was stroking me, she found my little friend snuggled up to my chest, she put the light on and then removed my little friend and popped him out the window ... I hope little slugs glide down without crashing. My mum can be a bit of a meany at times you know. Hope that snake didn't eat too many frogs, my mum reckons one frog will do him for a few days ...... she reckons snakes don't eat every day ...... now wots this about every day ...... I need to eat every couple of hours or I'd waste away. I bet you and Holly chops will keep a good eye out for it. Will OTL be getting a tank set up so it can come a live indoors with you all? Nice pictures today, that little frog looks very handsome. We're having an early night today cos we was up very early today and maybe having a lay in, depending on the weather tomorrow cos my boy has to go to work but the forecast isn't good. My mum will take him in the car so he don't get wet if it rains. Me and my boy don't do WET. Take care all and have a good evening, keep your eyes peeled for hissing syd. Love, licks, wags and sniffs from little Arch and the Nippers. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good day for wildlife. We've seen a squirrel AND a mouse eating our sunflower hearts that we put out for the birds . . . First time we've seen either of them in the garden. No snakes thankfully. X
