Nearly done!

 Hello Woofers!

It's daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here again!

Busy Busy today! We went out for our walks and today it is chilly and cloudy so it was a good job Old Two Legs got the 'sticking dow2n' done on the caravan. Today it the wiring and stuff.

Now, we have had a puzzling day today.

The 'Instructions' for installing the dome and stuff says in an almost throw a way comment. 'Do not shorten or lengthen the coax cable between the dome and decoder box.

Now, the cable going to the decoder will not go through the ceiling so OTL left that in place, added a couple of connectors and assembled it all.

It wouldn't work.

So, after a load of fiddling with the controls and getting nowhere OTL disconnected the additional coax, plugged it in and 'Pow!' it worked!

Now, OTL is into radio and antennae and understands things to do with coax lengths and frequencies etc.

After a little thinking OTL reckons the coax length is tied up with the frequency of the transmissions from the satellite and the coax feeder cable has been cut to act as stacked antenna. Stacked meaning a number of resonate antenna giving gain to the incoming signal.

No, I really don't understand it either but just accept that it makes it work!

So, all day he has been twiddling and fiddling and routing the cable around the bedroom door frame.

In the end it looked OK and now he has to finish off the other bits, get a new battery and tidy up all the tools.

So, there you are, a day of hard work for OTL and a day of snoozing by the front window watching OTL climb up and down the ladder and in and out of the caravan.

I'll bet he sleeps well tonight!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

  1. Yo maties. Well wot a very busy day you've had, watching OTL go up and down and in and out and making sure he didn't fall off, down or out. Of course I understood everything you said and at the end of the day, if it works, well it's worth all the fiddly diddly. Cos you see my mum sometimes reads destructions but then usually throws them away and does it HER way, sometimes she has to do some fiddly diddly but as she says, if it works don't knock it. I don't know though if these TL's realise how hard we work keeping an eye on them and making sure they don't have an accident cos then we would have to raise the alarm, so while they think we're there having a snooze, they're wrong, we're not, we are on a deep status of alert. Me and my mum had a siesta very early today, when she got home from work, she was so tired and her back ached, so I snuggled up and kept her back warm to help make it feel better. We're both looking forward to getting to bed tonight though on account of we're still both quite tired and I'd go right now but my mum said it is a tad early and she needs a night cap first. We watched Mrs TM on her videos today, she don't half fling that glue good. It's been quite chilly here today. Good news, the curtain rail didn't fall off the wall during the night, so that's a bonus. My mum and my boy had a chinese tonight cos my mum said she was too tired to cook, my boy had lemon chicken, flutterby king plawns and chips and my mum had aromatic crispy quacker pancakes. I had the sniffs to savour cos they don't share with me, meanies. My mum has got her jimjams on the radiator warming up for bedtime. I think I'll go practise my snoozing. Take care and stay safe all and have a good evening. Love, licks, wags and sniffs from little Arch and the others. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
