Holly & The Wormy Man & Sand Ploughing!

Hello Woofers!

It's us back again, Daisy & Holly.

We very nearly almost got a rabbit this morning, I went chasing after the gang of rabbits down by The Sea Wall and Holly was keeping up with me. I saw a rabbit to my left and one to my right, so picking on the one nearest, I swerved to my left and.................tripped over Holly!

Result was, Rabbits-1 Dogs-0

Next time we will get them!

Old Two Legs stopped and took some more pictures of the Spiky Leaf Sort of Thistle Type of Plant. It had got some new blooms and the one that had bloomed first was looking all ragged and ready to give up the ghost!

More Blooms on the Spiky Leaf Sort of Thistle Type of Plant!
Then Holly and I bumped into a youngster on the path and she wanted to play but got dragged away by her owner who wanted to get home!

Wanna Play?
We walked on a bit and came across a Wormy Man who was preparing to go out looking for worms.

Holly was cheeky and had a look in his bucket, then had a sniff, then asked if he had any sandwiches on him!

No Worms! Got any sandwiches?
We left him to search for the worms!

OTL spotted a Arion ater!

To everyone else it is called a Black Slug, the biggest slug in the British Isles. You know it can grow up to 20cm long!

That's almost snake size!

This one didn't look that long!

Look! an Arion ater
Then it stretched out to move forward, it was getting to be enormous!

It had a funny hole in the side of its body that OTL said was called a Pneumostome and was really the hole through which it breathed! Now, we have always done our breathing through our mouths, just like OTL, but now we have seen a beetle that breaths through its backside and a slug that breathes through a hole in its shoulder!

Big Black Slug taking a breath!
Holly said that it's not unusual really considering that there were times when I spoke through my tail! ..........................and that's when the fight started!

Back home to some chicken and biscuits and The Missus has saved the last of yesterdays Doggy Scoff so we can put it out for the Hedgehog tonight, just as a surprise present!

I'm sure it's because OTL wants to take some more photographs of the Mr Prickles!

This afternoon we went to The Sea Wall again but this time we went over to where the mountains of sand are!

It was great, running up and down the hills, finding big puddles to paddle in.

Holly found that if she ran down the hill and stuck her nose into the sand, she could dig a big long hole!

.........and this is how you Nose Plough!
We left OTL trying to photograph a Damsel Fly but he didn't have the best lens on his camera and on top of that, the Damsel Fly kept of flying away!

Damsel Fly
He did see one that was almost transparent, but again, as soon as he got near enough, it flew off!

Almost very nearly Transparent!
We got back to the beach and as the tide was right in, I went for a paddle to get rid of the sand stains off my legs. Holly decided that she was staying on the beach and so ended up going home to a wash and scrub to get all the sand stains off her!

I mean, just look at her, she looks as yellow as a Teddy Bear!

Teddy Bear Holly!

Back home to a snooze followed by some mugging of OTL at dinner time and we are settling down to watch out for Mr Prickles to arrive for his dinner!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Different Doggy Scoff and We're left at home!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again!

First of all a big 'Hello' to Jane our latest 'Follower'. Super to have you on board and we hope you enjoy following our adventures!

Talking of adventures, I must tell you about last night!

We were doing our Midnight Guarding Patrol, marching in line and in step around all of the rooms in the house. Just to make sure there were no burglars or other sneaky things creeping about!

Hup, two, three, four, Hup, two, three, four!

We got down stairs and were patrolling the back windows when Holly spotted something!

We both set about woofing to alert Old Two Legs to the fact we had spotted an 'Intruder'!

Down OTL staggers, looking like he was on 'auto pilot' and opened the door for us.

Out we flew, all 'teeth and tails' and snarling like we were six foot tall and had sharp teeth and a mean attitude!

There, behind the ladder, next to a pole, there stood the Intruder!

Please Don't Eat Me!
Wot are you doing sneaking around our garden Holly asked, the Hedgehog said that his name was Prickles and he was searching for something to eat, like slugs and snails and worms and if he could find some, Doggy Scoff!

Holly said that he could just keep his eyes off our Scoff, even if it tasted like Yuk!

However, Holly said that he was welcome to all the snails and worms and slugs he could eat 'cos we had no use for them and they didn't taste very nice anyway, but he is not to make any noise 'cos OTL is a light sleeper and doesn't like being woke up in the middle of the night!

Back to bed, until the next 'Patrol', it's a good job we are Professional Guards or that hedgehog might have escaped detection!

On our walk along The Sea Wall, OTL seemed to be keeping a close eye on us, every time we got a sniff of something interesting, he was there like a shot to make sure we didn't have a roll!

He stopped to have a look at that Spiky Leaf Sort of Thistle Type of Plant, but he didn't spend long taking pictures 'cos we had caught the scent of our Super Sniff from yesterday.

Spiky Leaf Sort of Thistle Type of Plant with new blooms!
It was a case of 'click, click' Oi! Keep away from that sniff you two!

We got our marching orders!

Back home we were served up some Doggy Scoff but not the normal rubbish, it was some new unexciting Doggy Scoff! It smelt different, so we left it untouched. OTL said it was the same Scoff he gave to Mutters, his old Labrador, many years ago and he loved it.

That's the trouble with a Labrador, they will eat just about everything, including the carpet, the sofa and the bathroom mat and still come back for more!

Around lunch time OTL sneaked out of  the house with his tools, he left us with The Missus who took us for a walk across the Fields, not as exciting as The Sea Wall but as we haven't been there for ages it was interesting to catch up on the sniffs, but nothing to roll in, if you get my meaning!

We even remembered where to wait for TM to put our leads back on!

OTL came back and we all had a good game before dinner. We managed to mug OTL for some of his Shepherds Pie that he put into our food bowl, on top of the Doggy Scoff, so we had the Shepherds Pie and carried on into the Scoff underneath!

We didn't have it all but enough to make a dent!

Maybe we will finish it off tonight before bed time.

That's after mugging some of OTL's Shortbread!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

We've been to Pets 'R' Us!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again.

We have been very naughty girls today! In fact we have been extra special naughty girls!

This morning we were having our normal walk along The Sea Wall, Old Two Legs had gone wandering off ahead of us to find the Thistle Thingy Plant to see if any more blooms have come out.

The Bugs have moved in!
Holly and I were just wandering along, 'sniffin the sniffs' when all of a sudden, carried by the wind, came this super sniff that said 'Find Me!'

Holly and I went diving into the long grass and finally found it, it was super, I mean Really Super!

So we both had a good sniff of it, then we had a good roll in it, and then we had another good roll in it!

OTL went Ballistic!

Holly had it all over her shoulders and head, she had even got a good smear under her chin as well!

and a Little Dab Behind The Ears!
Her collar was caked in it as well, just so she could have a sniff later on!

I went for the 'Splash it all over' look. Just like 'enry Cooper!

Splash it on all over!
I even managed to get some on my collar as well!

OTL Went Super Ballistic!

He called us all the Smelly Nelly's under the sun, then he called us a pair of 'Honking Hounds' !

It was about then that he cut our walk short, put us on a lead and headed back to the car!

We were made to stay in the back with all his tools and not move until we got home.

We had to go in via the back gate and I was tied up out side in the garden while Holly got a good scrubbing!

Then it was my turn, I got scrubbed from the tip of my nose to the tip of my tail and there was no place that OTL missed!

When OTL had finished I smelt like a 'Tarts Handbag'!

We were not in OTL's good books!

This afternoon OTL said that we could go with him as long as we stayed clean and smelling like wot dogs should, I was going to tell him that dogs don't smell like wot we were smelling 'cos it's not natural but Holly said that maybe I should keep my trap shut in case we got into more trouble!

Out we went to The New Park and we went for a good long run, I was chasing the ball, then managed to loose it!

Do I look Goood or Wot!
Holly was playing safe and only had a sniff at all the sniffs on the side of the paths, she was playing the 'Little Miss Goody Two Tails'!

Holly said that she felt that The Watchers were keeping an eye on us!

They are watching us!
When we went past the cattle, we woofed 'Hello' but they just told us to keep Moooving!

Keep Moooving!
When we got to the Swimming Hole I asked OTL to throw the ball for me but he said that as I had lost it I was out of luck!

So, as there was another dog swimming out to fetch his ball, I asked if I could have a play with his ball.

Oi! Can I play with your ball?
Holly said I was chancing my tail 'cos there is no way he was going to share his ball. She was right, he told me to woof off!

On our way back to the car we met up with a couple of doggies and one told us of this super sniff he had found and was having a good roll in it. He asked us if we wanted a share!

Hey! This is Goooooooood!
His mate whispered that it was not a good idea as our OTL was giving us the old 'Hairy Eyeball'!

I wouldn't if I were you!
We got back to the car without getting into any more trouble, so OTL stopped at our favourite shop on the way home! We got some chews and some doggy scoff and Chicken Strips, (our Favourite) and shampoo (we used the last of it this morning!)

So, we think that OTL is going to keep an eye on us for the next few days regarding the Super Sniff!

It is difficult being a puppy sometimes!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly (Sniff-less!)

Things are growing in our pond!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again.

We have had a lazy Sunday, we got Old Two Legs up at six this morning, not for any reason, it was just that we were up doing our 'House Inspection' and thought he might like to march around the house with us!

Down on the beach, we had a problem, Holly said she had buried a chew on the beach but couldn't remember where!

I can't remember!
What a Wally!
We stopped at the Thistle Thingy and found the some bugs had set up home in the petals already!

Here be Bugs!
We spent some time in the garden with OTL having a snooze in the sun shine and mugging him for some of his 'Bacon & Mushroom Baguette' !

Then all of a sudden OTL pointed out some wriggling thing in the pond. I could hardly see it, so OTL got out his camera gear and managed the following photo's.

Here comes a floating Mozzy!

We reckon this doesn't count 'cos it had left the water and had been flying about!

A Mozzy Larvae about 9 'o' clock in the picture.
OK, but not too impressive!

Mozzy and Beetle!
We went back to the Mosquito and all of a suddenly this beetle came up to the surface and took a breath, then swam down to the bottom again!

A Butt Breathing Beetle!
Then it did it again!

Now we were amazed by the beetle taking a breath from that end of his body, well I mean, normally you just breath out from that end!

OTL says he is going to get an adaptor ring for the lens so he can fit a Polarising Filter to cut out the glare and then you can see other things that may be growing in our pond!

Well, I'll tell you this, it certainly has got our Holly all excited with anticipation!

Mmmmm Interesting, I suppose!
So, after such an exciting day like that, we are off to have a snooze before dinner!

Almost forgot, OTL took a picture of a couple of rain showers, but the picture is 12 inches long, so click on it and scan along!

Two Showers over Sheerness

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Fountain of Fun!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again!

We love Saturdays, the telephone is asleep, so Old Two Legs gets more time to play with us!

We had an extra half an hour in bed and so did OTL. The Missus was up as early as she normally is, we think it was still dark!

On our walk along The Sea Wall, we made a note of the Spiky Leaf Sort of Thistle Type of Plant, 'cos the the petals had come out on the first flower.

First Bloom!
Now all we got to do is work out what it's called!

Holly said she likes our name 'Spiky Leaf Sort of Thistle Type of Plant'!

When we got to the Sea Wall there were some fishermen teaching their worms to swim, rather boring really, it's not as if they they caught any fish!

Go on worm, swim!
Back home to a breakfast of chicken and biscuits, then we went for a snooze in the sun.

When we were all comfortable and just about to get snoozy, the fountain in the pond burst into life!

Holly went to have a look.

How does it do that?
She couldn't work out how it it was switched on and off, so, she called me over 'cos I'm a bit more 'Technical' than her!

Must be magic!
I had a good ferret around but couldn't find any switches, so Holly being Holly decided it was Magic and OTL was controlling it!

Off we went for our afternoon walk and spotted a family playing on the beach but as Holly said, you would think they'd found some sand to play on!

Go on son, make a castle out of the rocks!
the best bit was the clouds, they looked super, all white with blue sky, so, this one is for Trev!

Clouds for Trev!
Back home we had a snoozy afternoon and a cuddle with OTL.

We have got to take OTL out tomorrow to get some supplies at the Doggy Shop!

So, if we are lucky, we may get him to buy us a chew, or two!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Chips and Dozzer and F1 Racing!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly & WHaaaaaaaaaaaCHoooooooo! Here again!

What a Friday! Today we took delivery of a Solar Powered Fountain for the pond!

Now, is that impressive or wot!

First thing this morning we went for our stroll along The Sea Wall, the sky didn't look to good but we kept our claws crossed fo a bit of sunshine!

Not the best start!
Then we bumped into Barney, well, not so much bumped, rather run over by Barney and his mate called 'Dozzer'

Yo Girlies!
First of all Barney came running over the hill with his ball in his mouth ready to have a game with Old Two Legs. Before they could get into the game of 'Throw The Ball' we saw a Retriever type in a 'Playful Crouch' position. Barney went tearing up to see him and the pair got into a game of 'Chase'

Hey! Barney, get a load of this Sniff!
Then Dozzer found a good sniff and had a roll. That got him into trouble!

It was getting too much for Holly and me, we prefer a more gentle game!

Holly down the Home Straight!
So, we left them to it and went off to play F1 racing along the Sea Wall.

We got home and OTL did a sneaky trick of getting us all sorted and about to snooze when he sneaked off to do some deliveries all on his own!

When he got back we went for another run along The Sea Wall.

Holly's Just Ahead
We said 'Hello' to Mr Corvid who was out looking for some lunch!

Mr Corvid looking for lunch
Then had another game of F1 racing but this time I won instead of Holly!

Back home we had been invaded by the Chips Away Team, well, a couple of lads who had come around to repair some chips in the big car where other drivers have opened their doors and bashed into OTL's car door.

Burger and Chips TakeAway
The first time Holly saw that she said she fancied Chicken and Chips or maybe a Burger and Chips TakeAway!

OTL gets all cross when they damage his car and he got even crosser when he found out how much it was going to cost to repair the damage!

When it was all done, the bodywork looked like new. Let's hope it stays like that!

Now, this fountain thingy. OTL spent a lot of time getting it positioned correctly into to deepest part of the pond and we were all wondering if he was going to fall in as he put it in the pond!

Luckily, he didn't, which was a shame really 'cos Holly and I would have still been laughing!

This thing has a Solar Panel that makes the fountain work, but only in direct sunlight.

It also has battery backup which means it can work at night for four hours throwing water into the air and.....................it's got LED lights that light up the water as well!

We can't wait for the night to come so we can see it working!

Night Time Fountain
There, now wasn't that worth waiting for!

Wot about this one then?

Ooooo! Sparkles
We know what OTL is going to be doing come the warm nights, he is going to be sitting by the pond, sipping his whisky and watching the fountain bubble away!

Have a good weekend and see you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, WhaaaaaaaaCHooooooo and Holly!

Taming of The Shrew

Hi Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again!

Old Two Legs got up late this morning, too much shortbread last night! That meant that we got an extra half an hour in bed as well!

Down on The Sea Wall the Spiky Leaf Sort of Thistle Type of Plant has not burst yet, just a small showing of the petal poking out the top!

I see a Petal!
We did see a funny sight, a car parked on an old jetty post stuck in the mud! OTL says the parking around here is terrible!

Parking Problems!
It was a super run along The Sea Wall and the view across the Medway Estuary was very clear this morning!

A Clear Morning!
We met up with a Westie we sometimes say hello to and he showed Holly a super sniff as well!

Yo! Holly Babe!
We went out with OTL to deliver stuff and ended up at the school that Auntie Zoe went to. We stayed in the car and we had loads of children come up to the car and go Oooooooo! And Aren't they Sweet!

I mean, of course we're sweet, it's part of our job description!

After that we were off to another customer who was on a farm and boy! Wot Sniffs! OTL said it was the cattle he kept but Holly couldn't understand why he kept all the cow poo in big containers!

Well, when we have a poo, OTL just picks it up and sticks it in the poo bin!

Next it was off to The Forest for a stroll around looking for squirrels, OTL found some Hollyhocks.

More Hollyhocks!
Then he spotted a Jay up in the tree, but the Jay didn't want to be photographed and any way, OTL didn't have his big lens with him, so we just had to make do with the one he had!

Snooty Jay!
We wandered on and came to a split in the path, Holly wanted to carry on the way we always go but I wanted to try the other path, just for a change, so I did! Trouble is, the path doesn't go on for long, so I had to turn around and chase after Holly and OTL!

Shall we go Left or Right?
We got home and OTL spent some time in the garden cutting the grass that was getting to be a jungle! Poor OTL, he got bitten by loads of bugs that didn't want him messing about with their homes!

While he was having a break to drink a cup of tea and scratch his bug bites, I did my 'I Wanna Go for a Walk' look and once again it worked. The only problem was, I had to wait while he had a shower!

Down on The Sea Wall we found a family sitting on the wall. I knew what was going to happen, so I hid in the grass, it was so embarrassing!

How Embarrassing!
Holly did her normal trick, up she wanders as bold as brass and says 'Here, you got any sandwiches left?'

Here! Got any Sandwiches Left?
OTL found another flower to photograph, he says it's a 'Wild Sweet Pea', I don't know how you can be Wild and still stay Sweet!

A Wild Sweet Pea!
On our way back to the car Holly got all excited about a sniff and started to have a roll in it, OTL got all 'Showy Off' and made her get up, then looking at what she wanted to roll in, declared that it was a dead Shrew, a sort of tiddly type of mouse and one of the Kestrels favourite meals!

Kestrel Take a Way!
I said that it was Holly rolling in a wee sniff that crushed the shrew as it ran under Holly mistaking her for a storm cloud moving overhead!

Holly didn't think much of that and said so and then she called me names and I called her names as well.................................That's when the fight started!

Back home for some chicken dinner and mug OTL for some medicinal shortbread to help calm the bug bites!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly
