In the Poo Again!

Hi Woofers!

McDaisy, MacHolly, Miss MacSnowflake and Mr McBrambles here!

We had a really long walk with the ferrets this morning, they were both ferreting about and exploring holes under rocks and even dug up some fresh Mole Hills!

We didn't go very far but rather did some serious sniffing. There was one time when I was so busy sniffing a sniff that I didn't notice Miss MacSnowflake under my paws, that was until she gave me a nip on my back leg!

Saucy Ferret!

By the time we got back both ferrets were ready for breakfast and a snooze. Ferret snoozes are special, they seem to last most of the day!

So, we left them to it and crept out of the caravan site.

We headed off with Old Two Legs for a game on the beach! Now before, MacHolly and I love this beach 'cos there are loads of rabbit holes which hold, loads of rabbits.

MacHolly spoilt it before by rushing off to hunt some rabbit, so, OTL put her on the lead and marched us both off to the sea side.

I was well up for this and jumped into the water and even lay down so I got good and wet!

Me, getting wet!
Then I got this sudden urge, you know, one of those urges that just won't go away!

I Just Needed To Chase a Rabbit!

Me, getting the Urge!
Then I was off like a streak of light!

It was about ten minutes later that OTL caught up with me and I was back on the lead again, Curses!

That rabbit is HUGE!
We had to leave the beach 'cos we were in deep poo!

Next stop was a pretty waterfall that is visited by loads of people to photograph it in the summer time but OTL wanted to have a go in the Spring Time!

The Water Fall.
It was a bit boring!

We also had to wait for him at the top of a very high cliff and MacHolly and I were glad we had our lead on!

It's a long way down there!
Next we got tied to a tree while he took some more pictures!

Just how long is he going to be?
It was a bit much!

Still we managed to get him to get a move on and before long we were off again, woofing at the sheep and the Heeland Coos!

Off to see some Heeland Coos!
OTL wanted to try photographing Ben More with the 'Normal' camera and the 'Infrared Thingy'

Fist in IR.
Not sure which one I like the best, maybe the IR one!

Again in 'Normal Mode'
Not sure what the plans are for tomorrow but whatever they are, it's bound to be fun!

See you tomorrow!

So where is the Lighthouse Daughter?

Hi Woofers!

McDaisy, MacHolly, Miss MacSnowflake and Mr McBrambles back again!

Boy have we had some fun today! We were out good and early this morning and it was such a rush to get out that Old Two Legs forgot to get his 'General Camera' from the caravan, so the only one in the car that was ready to use was the Infrared Thingy Wotssit Camera!

So, there we were, hunting Nargles, while OTL was trying to remember the controls and what he had to set them on to get a picture!

Then he set to photographing everything, including doing a 'Selfie', well, MacHolly did press the shutter for him while the camera was resting on a rock!

Not very pretty!
We don't think those glasses do anything for him but they do keep the wind from making his eyes water!

Me doing a 'Selfie'
We were looking for Nargles and Eagles when OTL spotted a Sea Eagle but it was too far away to photograph, but we did see the sun shine through his white tail, that's how we know it was a Sea Eagle!

Feeling all proud of ourselves we started to look for his mate but were stopped in our tracks, there, up in the sky, hovering like a big balloon was a UFO!

It's a Mull UFO in Infrared!
MacHolly said that we should all run away but OTL explained that the UFO was the diaphragm in the lens! MacHolly said she doesn't care what he called it, it still looks dangerous!

Back to the caravan to do our chores, well, OTL has to get the ferrets sorted and walked around the field before we can go out!

We stopped off in Tobermory to park the car and OTL tried a shot of the harbour in Infrared, well, it's different!

Infrared Harbour!
After we parked the car we set off for 'The Light House'!

In all the years OTL has never got out to the lighthouse. He nearly made it out one year but The Missus managed to spoil that trip by demanding that they had to go back!

OTL said he would tell us exactly what happened, later!

We finally arrived at the lighthouse and while OTL was messing about with the camera we sat and enjoyed the view of the yachts sailing by!

Sailing By.
Then we went right up to the lighthouse and had a good sniff around but we couldn't find any light house keepers!

Can we be the Lighthouse Daughters?
Mind you, the housing looks OK but there are no roads to the Light House, so it's all by boat or a walk along the very muddy path!

The Cottages.
Now, on the way back we had to jump onto some plastic crates that have been put on the muddy bit of the path. Many, many years ago, OTL and TM were heading for the lighthouse when they came across these crates that were put there to help keep you out of the mud. All you had to do was to lightly skip across the crates and land on the other side.

Not TM!

OTL crossed half way and turned around to help TM but she launched herself onto the crate and slid off the end and landed, splat, in the mud!

She was not a Happy Puppy and stomped off back to the car to head back to the caravan and showed off!

We all had a good chuckle and MacHolly showed off by dancing across the crates calling out 'Watch Me! Watch Me'!

This where she went SPLAT!
There was a little waterfall we past on the way back and OTL decided to try some 'Slow Shutter' pictures that make the water look all misty!

Possibly another Ethereal?
Not bad, especially as the camera was 'hand held'!

Back to the caravan for chicken and biscuits, followed by a good snooze!

See you tomorrow!

The Last Week!

Hi Woofers!

McDaisy, MacHolly, Miss MacSnowflake and Mr McBrambles back again!

Well, today we not only had NO RAIN, but The Missus decided to come along and see what we get up to during the day!

First of all we headed up to our normal run and went off looking for rabbits and as normal, we only got sniffs, no sights!

Still, not to be too worried, we watched Old Two Legs help TM across the stream while balancing on the rocks.

MacHolly said she was taking bets on what part of the stream TM would fall in! Luckily, OTL held on to her and she crossed without incident!

Mind you, the way back was fun 'cos OTL's foot slipped and he ended up with a boot full of water, not that it worried him, his feet needed cooling off!

As normal, we ended up doing the full three miles and MacHolly and I even headed up into the hills, just to check out a sniff MacHolly caught on the wind!

There be sniffs here!
Next we were off to Lochbuie, which, is at the head of Loch Buie!

We had been there before and knew it contained loads of rabbits! The only trouble was, OTL also knew it was stuffed full of rabbits, so he made us wear our lead and then gave the lead to TM to hold!

Not fair!

Next thing we knew was the ferrets chasing us down the beach! MacHolly and I behaved like good puppies and played around on the sandy beach and even dipped our claws in the sea!

OTL told TM that we just wanted a splash about and that we may have forgotten the rabbits.

Yeah! Right!

We got let off and did a Very Fast Exit, up the beach to the gorse bushes where we knew they would be!

That was it, TM came stomping up the beach and we were both put back on the lead and marched down to the waters edge again!

Of course, the ferrets were laughing their whiskers off at MacHolly and me!

Because OTL had the ferrets, he didn't take the camera out of the car, so no pictures I'm afraid, blame the ferrets!

However, on the way back in the car we spotted 'Peacock Pete' strutting his stuff!
'ere! Wot about this then?
He was shaking those tail feathers fit to bust but we didn't see any females about, so maybe he was just practising!

Am I Hot or Wot!
Back home in Tobermory TM went off shopping while the rest of us stayed in the car and watched the world go by.
OTL suddenly starts waving his hand and calling out 'Hey! Are you Sid's offspring?'

This young gull turns around and says 'Yes'!

Sydney, Son of Sid!
Then him and OTL have a chat and we find that Sid has moved across to Oban 'cos the pickings are easier there and he has two brothers and a sister living there already.

All the time they were chatting there was another young sea gull sitting on a tyre giving a running commentary of who was buying what at the Fish & Chip van. Son of Sid said that they had now started to mug the youngsters of their chips if they hung about too long!

Son of Sid's Mate
Then TM came out and before long we had said good bye to Son of Sid and his mate and off back to the caravan for some dinner.

So, that's about it for today, we are off for a snooze before dinner then a snooze before going to bed!

This is our last week here and by next Saturday we will be back at home with a load of sniffs to sort out!

See you tomorrow!

Grass Point Again!

Hi Woofers!

McDaisy, MacHolly, Miss MacSnowflake and Mr McBrambles back with you again!

Last night there was no rain, just a bit of wind to blow the awning about! Mind you we slept well, MacHolly and I both got the best bit of the bed and refused to move when Old Two Legs crawled into bed!

He had just finished off his bottle of Jura Malt Whisky and was feeling 'Sleepy'!

Both ferrets have been running around the caravan earlier and were just worn out, so they hit the sack and crashed out!

This morning we were up a bit later than normal 'cos everyone decided to have a lay in 'cos we're on holiday!

Our walk was down by Loch Frisa again but this time, because the water had all finished coming down off the hills, it was almost back to it's normal flow rate!

When we came to the crossing, I jumped straight in and was across in no time.

This is the way!
MacHolly, she had a little paddle the headed for the stones again! You know, she can be a right wimp sometimes!

This is Dangerous stuff you know!
Because we could cross the stream, we had a three mile walk! We even stopped and had time to watch the world go by from the top of some rocks by the path!

Better than Paddling in the stream!
It was good the OTL didn't find any Ethereals to photograph!

This is not Ethereal!
Mind you, on our way back MacHolly still had the problem of crossing the stream!

Going Back Again!
When we got back to the van The Missus reminded OTL that she wanted to make some cards today so he and us had to 'Ugger Orf'!

The ferrets said they would stay in their Snowy Heights in the awning as it wasn't cold or damp and they wanted to get some fresh air!

We decided to head for Grass Point and have a game on the rocks and the beach. OTL said that there was a beach we could go swimming off!

The first thing was saw was a 'Cross', which was a strange thing to see on the rocks and even at Grass Point, I mean, there wasn't even a church there!

Funny Place for a Cross!
After a sniff around we started to charge about all over the place and OTL had to keep up with us to stop us getting into trouble!

Mind you, he did stop off to photograph a flower we found growing between the rocks!

A Rock Plant?
Then we found it!

The Beach!

As you would guess, I was first down the beach and into the water!

Chaaaaaaarge!
MacHolly came down the beach at a run and went into the water, up to her knees, then stopped!

Thus Far and Far Enough!
It's strange that I like water and MacHolly doesn't!

Mind you, OTL found we had left our 'Mark', paw prints in the sand!

We Wuz Here!
Mind you, once the tide came back in they will get washed away!

Back at the caravan TM had done her cards and was ready for dinner. The ferrets got their run around the field and were soon back in the caravan having a game of chase with OTL.

Not sure what the weather is going to be like tomorrow but if there is no rain we are off to another beach we have visited before, but this one has got lots of rocks to climb on!

See you tomorrow!

OTL's found some Ethereals Again!

Hi Woofers!

McDaisy, MacHolly, Miss MacSnowflake and Mr McBrambles back again!

I wish I could report a super sunny day today but instead al I can say is that it has been a little, damp!

Not that it spoilt our day, it has been fun and games all day!

Old Two Legs decided to let the ferrets loose in the caravan again and they went potty, charging up and down the caravan, chasing each other and OTL and then trying to get up on the seats where MacHolly and I were sitting to watch the games!

The Missus was sitting next to us and she kept her feet up in the air 'cos Miss MacSnowflake just loves to attack TM's feet when she's not looking!

Our walk this morning was down by Loch Frisa. It's safe down there and OTL can watch out for Sea Eagles while we chase rabbits!

The rain last night had flooded the river that crosses the path, so we couldn't go as far as we would have normally. Mind you, I did suggest that MacHolly should try crossing the river but she told me to 'Go Jump In The River Myself'!

That's it, Jump!
You could see just how much water was pouring off the hills as the waterfall was much whiter than normal!

Real White Water!
OTL and TM went off shopping while MacHolly and I stayed back at the caravan doing our 'Guard Dog' duties!

Lunchtime was fun, MacHolly and I decided that we would try some Rock Climbing without our normal climbing gear, you know, ropes and climbing harnesses!

We studied the planned route, looking for all the paw holds and also planning an alternative route if we ran out of paw holds!

Then we can travers across there?
It was great fun and in the end we both stood on top of the rock looking at the view, great!

What a View an Wot a Sniff!
Going further up the path we spotted a big bull standing on top of the hill, OTL said it was 'Standing Bull' getting ready to attack anyone who came down the valley!

OTL said he looked 'Ethereal', 'O! Gawd' we both said together, 'Not Another Ethereal'!

An Ethereal Standing Bull!
OTL was quite proud of that, so he shoved an 'untreated' one in just to show off!

Big Chief Standing Bull, 'As Is'!
As we went down the path towards the car he stopped and declared that he had found another 'Ethereal' under the bushes.

And now an 'Ethereal Waterfall'!
MacHolly said we should give him a good kick up the Ethereals if he does it again!

Back in the caravan we all crashed out for a snooze 'cos all this running and jumping and climbing can wear a girl out you know!

I started off looking out of the window and just sort slipped down the cushion!

Jus' Snoozing!
We are hoping that the rain stays away tomorrow, then we can head off to the beach and maybe teach the ferrets to swim again!

See you tomorrow!

McDaisy, MacHolly, Miss MacSnowflake and Mr McBrambles!

Wednesday, 21 May 2014

Hi Woofers!

McDaisy, MacHolly, Miss MacSnowflake and Mr McBrambles here!

You would never guess but, it's still raining!

Last night Old Two Legs had to get up at two fifteen to get rid of a large puddle of rain water that had settled in the roof of the awning!

He did try to wake The Missus up and send her out but she wouldn't wake up!

Funny that!

Now yesterday was great!

We went for our walk and saw one of the Loch Frisa Sea Eagles circling above the cliffs and trees. The sun was shining and MacHolly and I were on the hunt for the rabbits we knew were around. MacHolly said that they were crafty rabbits 'cos they were always looking up to see if the eagles were about!

OTL spotted a notice about dog walking and cycle riding along the paths and how we should shut the gates and not let woofers chase sheep, unless you were and experienced Sheep Dog Woofer and then only under the command of a Shepherd!

MacHolly wanted to know what happens when the Heeland Coo's arrive!

Getting back to the notice, OTL saw right at the bottom, next to a clump of moss or lichen there was a reminder about the weather!

Don't we Know!

There are loads of Bluebell flowers up here, all of them are the English Bluebell, none of your Spanish ones like the ones down South! These ones are shorter, (to keep out of the wind) and the flowers are darker, very pretty!

English and Proud of it!
MacHolly and I set about looking for rabbits. Instead of just charging about hoping to scare one of them into running, MacHolly decided to do the 'Sneaky Up On Them' trick and started off by hiding behind a rock!

I Spy with My Doggy Eye, Nothing!
While she was doing that, OTL was on his knees taking a picture of a fern that was 'unrolling'.

Hello Fern!
Having failed to spot a rabbit, MacHolly came running up the path and got to the small river thingy that crossed the path. Normally it is not very deep and we just skip across, but not today. It was no problem for me 'cos I don't mind the water but MacHolly just doesn't do big puddles of deep rivers!
So, she very slowly started to cross.

Looks a bit deep!
The water started to get too far up her legs, so she turned around and crossed by the rocks that OTL used!

These are a bit Wobbly!
I was up on the rocks trying to spot some rabbits but they were all hiding again!

Keeping an eye out for.....?
Once we got back it was off to Tobermory to do some shopping while MacHolly and I stayed in the car guarding it against anyone who came too close!

The Harbour.
That done we headed off to Loch Spelvie to do some Otter Spotting. Now Otters are a bit lit our ferrets, but much bigger and they spend almost all of their time in the water, unlike our ferrets who just fall in the water by mistake!

OTL and us sat on a rock for a while trying to spot Otters!

Us Otter Spotting!
As we were heading back home OTL suddenly stopped the car and said that he had seen an Otter! We watched the water where he had seen it and sure enough, there it was hunting for it's dinner!

It's an Otter!
OK, not a very good shot of the otter but OTL and TM spent some time watching it through their binoculars which they said was a better view!

MacHolly and I don't have binoculars, so we just looked out of the car and wondered if it tasted like a ferret?

Talking of tasty things, we came across a load of chickens in a field and there, hiding in the grass was a big Peacock!

Of course MacHolly asked the usual question!

Yes.....but does it taste like chicken?
Back home we told the ferrets all about the otter and how it looks just like Mr McBrambles but a thousand times bigger!

We are expecting some rain tomorrow morning but with a bit of luck the sun will come back by the afternoon!

See you tomorrow!
