Where has the Sun gone?

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here again!

Wot a day! We almost didn't want to get out of bed this morning. The clouds were all over the place and we didn't see the sun anywhere! It took two visits by Old Two Legs into the ferrets room to even get them to open their eyes! And after that they still went back to sleep while OTL had his shower!

Mind you, they were wide awake when he returned with their Ferret Milk and his Rabbit Food!

Holly and I enjoyed the wide open space on the bed after OTL and The Missus had vacated it!

The ferrets were still snoozy when we got to the car park and were huddled up in their ferret bag trying to go back to sleep.

They missed out on some fun!

As Holly and I rounded the bushy corner, there, in front of us, facing away from us, sat the fattest rabbit we had seen for some time. That was it, both of us took off like a 'Double Barrelled Shotgun' turning sharp right into the long grass!

That was when we lost sight of the rabbit, but we still were rushing about trying to flush it out again.

OTL had stopped and got the ferrets out to watch the fun and have a wee as well.

It was then that we heard OTL and the ferrets giving us the secret 'Rabbit Spotted Call' and they were all pointing up the path!

Rabbit doing a 'Sneaky'!
At first we weren't sure which way the rabbit was running, left, right or straight on!

Neither was the rabbit!

Rabbit doing a 'Quick Divert'!
We were still crashing about in the grass until I spot a white tail on the path and then it was 'Off Again'!

Did he turn left or right?
Well, in the end he disappeared into the bushes and we lost him. We had a good hunt around but there was no sign of our 'Bunny'!

Down on The Beach, both ferrets were making fun of us, first of all they kept shouting out that they had spotted more rabbits hiding under the sea weed!

Oooo! Look! More Rabbits!
Holly and I did our best to ignore the pair of them, I mean, what do they know about chasing rabbits!

It didn't help when Brambles came up behind me and asked if I like 'Rabbit Stew'!

Rabbit Stew Tonight Then?
I wasn't in a good mood so I told him to Woof Off before I stewed him in milk and served him to the birds!

It still didn't stop them from calling out for Bunnies to chase!

We all had a snooze after some rather tasteless Doggy Scoff and at lunchtime we reminded OTL he had his duties to do, WALKIES!

The only trouble was, TM had pinched the car!

Not to worry, we still had the Big Car, so off we went in style down to The Beach again and belive it of not but the sun came out and so did the wind!

When we got down there the Tide was right in and I was hoping for a swim but looking at the size of the waves, I decided to pass today!

A High Tide!
There were places where it was splashing over the top of The Sea Wall and making everything all wet!

Stand by for a Splash!
We met up with a couple of woofers who we know. One had this super trick she does.

By standing at an angle to the wind, she can get her ear to stand up!

Look Semaphore!

Now, we had never heard of Semaphore until OTL explained it to us!

Yes, very clever, we'll flag that up for next time!

Then there was the young Staffy who said she was learning how to blend into the background and become 'Invisible' just so she could chase rabbits!

Yeah, Like, I can't see anyone laying on the ground waiting to spring into action!

Holly and I can do better than that but decided to keep our secrets to ourselves today!

Back home again to a snooze before dinner. We know OTL has Gammon tonight so Holly and I are both licking our lips in anticipation!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles!

Sunday in the Garden.

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles!

What a fun day today!

Yesterday The Missus was doing one of her 'Master Classes' and when she got home  she could hardly keep her eyes open, she was snoring her head off on the sofa at six thirty!

By seven she was in bed, snoring!

During the night, Holly thought she heard a noise in the back garden and did one of her 'Warning Woofs' at the back door which woke TM up. TM staggered down stairs and let Holly out into the back garden to do one of her 'Warning Woofs', then Holly turned around and headed for bed.

TM thought it was about four so was trying to decide if she should go back to bed or get up and make a card or two before everyone else was woken up with the 'Stamping Sounds'!

Then she looked at the clock, and then she looked again, it was just gone eleven!

Back to bed!

When we finally got up, at the right time, it was all off to The Beach!

Miss Snowflake was in and out of the sea weed doing wot she always does!

Careful Girl or you'll fall in!
Then it was a race to get up onto the grass path where both ferrets had fun 'Swimming' in the grass!

Come on Bumbles, shift yer tail!
Mr Brambles was have a great time doing what he calls 'Grass Surfing'!

A Grass Surfing Beach Boy!
Then it was Snowflakes turn but she did what she calls 'Grass Swimming'!

Grassy Beach Babe!

While the ferrets were having a grassy Splash About', OTL was on his knees clicking away at a Goats Beard that was in full bloom, unlike the ones we have at home!

Mind you, the flower heads on the one at home is a lot smaller than this one, so, claws crossed we may still see the ones at home bloom yet!

Will ours look like this?

Holly and I were getting a bit bored waiting for the ferrets to finish their 'Grass Swimming' and OTL getting a flower to say 'Cheese'!

So, I didn't see him creep up and grab a sneaky shot of me looking bored!

Waiting for Ferrets again!
Back home OTL was out in the garden again and this time he filled up another two Wheelie Bins full of vegetation and it looks like he has almost finished. Holly and I were resting on the patio giving instructions!

Then TM came out to have a look and 'Suggested' that OTL put a mirror up on the shed wall, just to make the garden look bigger!

I'm not sure what the birds will make of their reflections!

We got a visit from Martin, Lisa and The Boys, Holly said they looked very different from what she remembered when she lived with them!

They had been to a party on Saturday and were a little, tired!

So, they didn't stay too long before heading back home!

Now we waiting to see what OTL is going to have for dinner, just so we can mug him!

Hey! Archie Babe, what's this about yer Butt? You been eating that grass again! We have seen The Hobbit DVD many times, it is one of OTL's favourite films, other than Lord of the Rings!

I reckon we can tell you the story from start to finish!

I hear dinner plates being rattled, so we're off to see whats being served!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

A Saturday with Maizey!

Yo Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles!

The Missus was up early this morning and what with all the noise she makes and Old Two Legs sneezing his head off, we were up and running by seven! Even the ferrets were up and ready on time!

Come on, we'll be late!
Down on The Beach, Brambles said he would get a hole started for Maizey 'cos she wasn't great at hole digging!

I'll get a hole started!
Time was getting on and we had loads to do before Maizey arrived, so it was a quick march up the Grass Path and heading back to the car!

We got back home and OTL sorted the ferrets and made the place tidy and got a couple of  blankets to make up a bed should Maizey want a snooze!

We met Maizey up at the Village Hall and headed off to The Beach again 'cos Maizey said she wanted a Walk, a Wee and a Poo!

We met up with Oliver and he said Hello to Maizey and they both had a traditional Doggy Sniff!

Hello Oliver!
There was a couple who remembered Maizey from the last time she was down and they had a chat about some of the local sniffs!

Yeah, I remember you from last time!
We headed off to the beach where Maizey had a little run around and even found Brambles Hole!

Maizey said that she didn't like all the steps everywhere but agreed that running up and down would keep you fit!

Loads of steps to climb!
One thing she did like was the sand and the sea weed on the beach.

There were loads of sniffs and of course, plenty of space for a wee!

This is a very good place to wee!
She said it was better when we got onto the Grass Path and we asked if she could sniff the ferrets that came up here this morning!

Your right! I can sniff ferret!
We had a super day and I even shared my Chicken Dinner with Maizey, who also had some of our biscuits as well!

Before long it was time to get back to the hall to meet up with 'Maizey's Mum'!

We said Goodbye to Maizey and Hello to TM who was clearing up after her Master Class!

Back home to see what OTL has for dinner and is it worth mugging him!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

A Little Bit Off The Back!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here!

It has been a 'Muggy Day' today. It started off with clouds everywhere and no sun, but it was 'Close', as Old Two Legs said.

We were out a little earlier than normal 'cos Holly and I had an appointment with the 'Parlour' for our 'Shampoo & Set'.

Both ferrets got out of the ferret bag almost as quickly as OTL put them in, they said it was too hot in the bag and after a quick wee, both settled for a cuddle in OTL's arm until they got to The Beach.

Mr Brambles had been talking about our holiday and seeing those enormous Nelly Fish on the beach. He said he was going to keep a eye open just in case we got any on our beach!

Not a Nelly Fish to be seen!
Holly pretended that a Nelly Fish had buried it'self on the beach and tricked Snowflake into doing an 'Investigation'!

When she worked out Holly was play a trick  on her she turned her head on one side and asked if Woofers taste like chicken?

Mmmm! A Ferrets Warning?

No! Woofers Don't Taste Like Chicken!
Once we had finished our walk it was straight down to the parlour where we had to wait for ten minutes for them to open. OTL opened the back of the car and Holly and I did some 'Sniff Investigations' while the ferrets looked out of their cage at all the woofers caged in and sounding rather unhappy about it!

Snowflake said that it was a good thing that they both came away on holiday with us all and not left in a cage with no walkies!

I won't bore you with the details but we were washed, sploshed, shaved and clipped and we ended up sniffing like a couple of Tarts Handbags!

We heard OTL at the counter, we know it was him 'cos his wallet makes a terrible noise when he opens it and he does make such a crying noise when he has to pay the bill!

Soon we were out and in the car telling OTL to hurry up and 'get the woof outta here'!

We were off to The Beach for a quick walk and OTL had picked up the wrong camera, he had brought his Infrared Camera instead of the normal one!

So, this is what we saw on the beach!

No water to go Splosh in!
We stopped again on The Bench and did our best to make sure we were looking the other way when he took a picture.

This one is the twenty fifth try!

Rats! He got us this time!
Next stop was to pick The Missus up, she had been out with her mates today, then back home to a bowl of Scoff and a snooze!

That left OTL in the garden trying to catch a frog hopping about on the Lilly Leaves!

So, the frog doesn't reflect Infrared, yet!

It don't get much better than that!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

A Bit Better Today.

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here!

Well, it was not so windy this morning, just a gentle force eight breeze! We got to The Beach and both Holly and I decided we would stay out of the water today!

Mind you, Holly says that every day!

No, I Ain't Going in Either!
I found a tennis ball on the beach but it was all wet and soggy and it tasted a bit yuk, so I left it for the sun to dry out and if it's still there at lunch time, we may have a game!

With the sun shining on the water, Old Two Legs tried to get all 'Arty' again, looks just like waves to me!

Another Incoming Tide
Miss Snowflake found a wooden post on the beach and reckoned that she could make a good surf board out of it but when she tried to turn it over to inspect the underside, she couldn't roll it!

In the end she just flopped onto the post and said it made a good place to sun bathe!
No, I can't shift it!
It's amazing just how the waves can be pushed up the beach when there is an 'On Shore Wind' blowing. Just imagine what it would be like in mid Winter and a Howling Gale blowing in off the sea!

The last time that happened all of the shingle on the beach was moved back up the beach and onto the Sea Wall, and they still haven't shovelled it back down the beach yet!

It's an On Shore Breeze!
Now, what's all this about Archie Babe getting seeds in his coat? It's a bit much and definitely an 'Over Kill' to ship him off to the Parlour just to get a brush!

We are off to the Parlour tomorrow for our Shampoo & Set and all the stuff they do, mind you, we haven't got any seeds growing on us!

We spent the morning snoozing, after our Lamb Dinner, and we even let OTL go out delivering on his own!

Mind you, it was comfortable on our cushions and under the desk!

A Soft Cushion, Holly's Chew and a snooze!

Lunchtime it was back down to The Beach and you know what? We found a tennis ball on the beach!

OTL did his best to throw it for us, well, me really 'cos Holly doesn't do balls!

Ball Chasing!
When we got to our beach I was a bit warm and wanted to have a lay down in the water but the tide was out and all I found was a muddy pool, OTL ordered me out of that as well!

But it's Soooo Cooool!
We had some more running but when we got to the bench we all had a rest, I was under the bench, OTL was sitting on the seat and Holly was on top watching the world go by!

and there's another ship!
Back home it was a nibble and a snooze!

The Missus is off out tonight going to some local crop so we have OTL to ourselves to mug rotten!

We will be out early tomorrow 'cos of our appointment with the lady and her hair cutting tools!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Winter Draws On!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here!

Well, wot a Chilly Day it has been down here in North Kent. Normally we have the best weather and the warmest sunshine but today I think we got the coldest wind!

Out early this morning we didn't hang about too much. We got to The Beach and Holly and I took one look and decided to leave the 'Morning Dip' until another day!

Too Cold, Too Wet and Too Early!
Both ferrets stayed away from the water as well and it was only Snowflake who found a rock, declared it was 'Hers' and wanted Old Two Legs to take it home for her!

It's Mine! All Mine!
She sort of went off it after Brambles did a wee on it!

Normally it is Mr Brambles who rolls around in 'Ferret Sniffs' and holds us all up but today, there he was leading us all back to the car!

Even Holly got left behind at one point!

Back home it was Lambs Heart followed by a big juicy chew and a snooze until lunch time when The Missus decided she wanted to have a walk as well.

Bang goes the Rabbit Hunt then!

No, you leave the Bunnies alone!
So, all we had was sniffs and a bit of art!

Well OTL said it was a bit of art and we all had a go at guessing wot it could be.

Holly started of saying it was the caterpillar of The Drinker Moth! She remembered yesterday!

Then TM said it looked like a worm with tummy ache.

I said it was a sign left by a passing alien!

OTL was rather boring, he said it was a Stone Fish!

OK, now it's your turn, answers on a £5 note and addressed to me!

Wot is it?
OTL spotted a Dragon Fly charging up and down the side of the bushes and he spent ages trying get a picture, but, the Dragon Fly wouldn't stay still and this was the best shot!

Nearly!
Mind you, he had more success with a Speckled Brown who was having a rest on the Bramble Bush!

A Speckled Brown.
Then it was back to the car and home for a little snooze before mugging OTL again!

Not sure what the weather will be like tomorrow but with a bit of luck we might see the sun again!

Bye bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

The sun has gone but the Puffins have arrived!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here!

What happened to the sun? It was here yesterday but this morning it was all cloud!

Of course, guess who forgot the Yellow Filter!

No Sun but the clouds are OK!
Snowflake didn't mind the wind 'cos she dived out of the ferret bag, shot across the sea weed and headed for her own Private Loo that she says gets flushed clean twice a day. Holly says that it's called 'The Tide' but Snowflake thinks it's her own personal flush system!

Snowflakes Private Loo!
Along the Grass Path we met up with a load of woofers, there was Max and Oscar, then Young Bryn poked his nose in and there was Zak as well. We don't often see Zak so it's always good to meet up with him.

There was a new tail there, a Woofer called Holly!

Look, it's another Holly!
This Holly belonged to the sister of Bryn's owner and was down for a few days visit.

They had all been out for a run together and Zak had even shared his ball with them all!

Zak and Oscar!
Back home we investigated the food bowls and guess what? Doggy Scoff! Yuk!

While Holly and I were wondering what we could eat today, The Missus called out to Old Two Legs that she had forwarded an email onto him from Christina who is out on the Outer Hebrides photographing Puffins!

Oh Dear! I'll bet that next she will say she has got out to St Kilda to photograph the St Kilda Four-horned Soay Sheep, St Kilda Wren and St Kilda Mouse!

No, we haven't seen OTL at all!
Now you remember he didn't get out to Skomer 'cos the waves were too high? What did he get as a consolation prize?

Zoe sent him a Tag with a Puffin on it!

Now he has Christina showing off her excellent photos of.........Puffins!

OTL? Last seen in West Wales in a storm!
 Wot a Showoff!

This is too much for OTL to bear!

So, it was a sad OTL who headed out at lunchtime looking for Puffins along The Sea Wall, and, as you would expect, there were none there!

All was not lost! There, on the ground, looking not too happy with itself was this caterpillar.

So, out comes the camera and 'click. click' and next stop the 'Insect Books' and guess wot?  Yep, he couldn't find it at all!

Wot is it Precious?
This thing was about 60mm long and about 12mm diameter. OTL picked it up with a bit of stick and put it under the plants by the side of the path, out of harms way!

Then he sent off an email and picture to http://www.ukbutterflies.co.uk and now we wait for a reply!

It was still very windy down on the sea front and you can see the waves being whipped up over in Sheerness!

Wind and Waves!
Well, how's this for speed?

UK Butterflies have just replied to our email!

The answer to our question is,  a Drinker moth larva! The Drinker Moth so called 'cos the larva which is supposed to have a liking for drops of dew!

OTL says he like Mountain Dew but we don't think it is the same thing!

Now we have had a look at the pictures and it certainly is not one we have seen before, now that is another one that we need to add to the list of ticks!

Off for a little snooze before mugging time!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Goats Beard in Our Garden!

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Another sunny day here is North Kent. The alarm clock went off early this morning, The Missus had a dream about a design for something or other and just couldn't sleep, so up she gets and of course, wakes everyone else up in the process!

That of course means we were down on the beach a little earlier than normal!

The early bird looking for breakfast!
Mr Brambles was out of the ferret bag for an 'Early Morning Wee' but Snowflake decided to stay in the bag for a little while longer!

Just a five minute snooze thanks!
Mind you, when we got to the beach she was out and chasing Brambles all over the place!

Come on, Shift Yer Tail Lad!
Back home we were served up chicken but to be honest, it was just too warm for eating!

Now, a couple of years ago, after digging out the pond, Old Two Legs decided that we should have a 'Wild Life Garden' right up the back of the garden, in the sunlight and his idea was to put a log or two there, drilled with holes for the bugs and bees to live in. Then he got a few packets of 'Wild Flower Seeds' from a stallholder who was trying to get him to sign up to a 'Funeral Plan'. OTL said that if he got a shovel from Amazon and TM was still around, she could bury him in the Wild Life Garden and save a fortune!

TM didn't seem to think it was a good idea!

Any way, as well as the packets of seeds he collected some seeds from the wild 'Goats Beard' flowers down on The Sea Wall, and, at the correct time scattered them over the Wild Life Garden with the instructions to 'Get on with it'!

Last year there was nothing but weeds and poppies that came up but he left it and didn't even cut down the foliage as he was supposed to do.

This year, he was pulling some of the weeds out that had crept over the rocks which mark the border between 'Wild' and 'Planted', when he spotted four flower buds and guess what?

They are Goats Beard!

A bit small but they are Goats Beard!
So, not only have we got to keep an eye open for Trevor and his mates but now we have got to keep an eye on the Goats!

You know, Holly and I have been helping with the Wild Life Garden and every night we both got there for a wee before going to bed!

Holly reckons her wee has helped the Goats Beard 'cos that is growing just where she likes to wee!

I reckon that if that is true, then the whole garden should be a jungle by now!

Then we spotted some water coming out of the pond!

Tadpoles doing a Wee?
Lunchtime we headed off to do some deliveries and ended up at the Riverside Park!

Any moment now and we'll be off!
Holly and I had a great time sniffing the sniffs and when we got to the far end, we had a super game of 'Chase' and managed to scare a couple of pigeons out of the bushes with our woofing!

A Woofing Good Game!
OTL was all upset 'cos he didn't bring his Yellow Filter and there were some dramatic clouds over the Power Station!

Where's a Yellow Filter when you need one!
Back home for a snooze before dinner, we may be feasting on the chicken, unless OTL has got something tasty in his bowl!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.
