She's Back!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Mr Brambles, Miss April and Miss May here again!

Wot a super day we have had down here, the sun was hiding behind the clouds this morning but came out to see us at lunchtime!

We were up early this morning, too early! I needed a wee at about four thirty and we just didn't really get back to sleep. You see we had a 'End of the Week Party' last night and this morning it was a bit of a mess down stairs!

It was a good thing that the dustbin men call today 'cos there was loads of stuff to get rid of, you know, biscuit boxes and whisky bottles and shortbread tins and chew packets and loads of other stuff!

We thought that we had broken the vacuum cleaner at one time 'cos it stopped working 'cos it got too hot!

By the time we went out for our morning walk it had been all cleared up and the cleaner had cooled down enough so it wouldn't catch fire if we put it away in the cupboard!

We got down to the beach but the tide had gone out and all there was left were rock pools. Now they don't hold much interest for me, unless there is a crab or two to play with, but Snowflake has fun climbing over the sea weed and having a wee into a rock pool which she says sounds all musical!

Oh Gawd, a Ferret with a Musical Wee, what ever next?

Enough for a little 'Water Music?'

 I had some fun rolling in the dew on the grass and ended up a bit of a Soggy Doggy!

I feel a little damp!

 Snowflake and Brambles did the same but they found a sniff that wasn't too wet!

OK, He's not looking, have a roll!

We couldn't hang about for too long 'cos The Missus was heading back home from her week away baby sitting in Birmingham!

Old Two Legs said that she would give us a ring before she got home, just so we can finish off the clearing up and then be sitting at the window to welcome her back!

Just like the good little puppies we are!

Well, when she arrived we went a little potty, no, tell a lie, we went really potty! She got a right royal Woofers Welcome and a good ear licking as well!

She had a look around and didn't tell OTL off for making a mess and she hasn't yet had a look under the sofa to check for 'Ferret Stash', so we think we may have got away with it!

Lunchtime we are back down the beach but with May and April in the Ferret Bag.

There were loads of Two Legs on the beach, so, those ferrets got a lot of attention and strokes!

As it was warm and sea was right in and there was no wind, there was only little waves lapping the shore. April got all big and brave and went for a little paddle. She didn't go in very far 'cos she didn't know how deep it was and she didn't know if she could swim.

I'm not too sure about swimming in there!

I tried to be helpful by telling them both that it wasn't too deep!

Honest Girls, it only comes half way up a duck!

I don't think they believed me!

OTL hadn't got the red rubber bone 'cos he left it in his other jacket so all I had to chase were the stones he tossed in the water!

Why won't the stones float?

 As we made our way along the beach the tide was going out and pretty soon I could run out a long way and still have my paws on the bottom. So, just for a laugh, I tried sitting down!

Well, it feels deeper if you sit down!

The only problem was, you end up with a muddy butt!

Back home I got a rub down with our towel and Holly and I got a chew each, so we spent the rest of the afternoon chewing and snoozing!

Not sure what is for dinner tonight, with a bit of luck it will be something worth mugging!

OMG OTL has got himself a Laphroaig Beanie hat!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Mr Brambles, Miss April and Miss May here again!

Just what has happened to the summer? I mean, Bank Holiday is arriving and Old Two Legs is digging out his 'Wet Weather Gear'!

We had a super evening, we watched two episodes of The Hobbit and we cheered and booed all the way through! OTL shared his shortbread with us and Holly let him have a chew of her Teeth Cleaning Chew!

I hid my chew under our cushions in the bedroom so it was only Holly's that he got to nibble!

This morning was all damp and grey and you know what? We didn't see another woofer at all!

Maybe they have gone away on holiday.

We all had a run around on the beach and  dug a few holes. OTL got out the red rubber bone I normally play fetch with when the tide in in. He threw it down the beach and instead of bringing it back, I dug a hole and buried it!

Well, what do you think I am, a Bozo Labrador that fetches?

Mr Brambles tried a run along The Wall of Death but fell off and rolled down the beach!

Just Watch this run!

 It was so funny watching him fall over that I was rolling on my back and laughing!

Well, really, I'd found this super sniff and needed an excuse to roll on the ground!

Oh! That is So Funny!

As we got close to the car park, the ferrets found some fungi that had grown during the night and Snowflake cracked a funny!

Any more and there wont be Mushroom to move!

As Holly said, 'Oh Yes, Very Droll!'

Back home to a hot bowl of chicken, cooked with a slosh of Virgin Olive Oil!

We know how to live!

OTL has been busy manufacturing so we left him alone until lunchtime when Holly and I woofed at him and the Page Three Girls kicked their Poo Pot around to get his attention..................It's Walkies Time!

We got to the beach and the tide was right in! That was it! OTL got the rubber bone out and I had a great time sploshing about.

There were no waves so we had nothing to worry about!

As flat as a mill pond!

Miss April got all excited and rushed down to the waters edge but didn't realise that the water was lapping onto the shore. So, she was just thinking about a wee when a small wave rushed in an wet her butt!

What the devil was that!

Mind you, it didn't stop her from having a game of Bulldozers in the sand, she dug her nose in and ploughed up the beach in fine fashion!

Brrrrm! Brrrm!

I joined in and helped her by playing at being a Steam Roller, but really I just fancied a roll in the sand!

Holly on the other paw looked down and called us all 'Soppy'!

Did we care?

I'm a Steam Roller!

 On the way back, up on the top path Miss May had great fun digging up the path saying that she could hear rabbits underneath. The only problem was, she didn't know how deep!

There be rabbits down here!

 We got home to find a parcel waiting for OTL, so, up to the office to open it up and guess what?

It was a Beanie hat that he had ordered from his favourite distillery!

He says that when we are on holiday he can wear it when he takes us out, if it's too windy for his normal hat!

We are not too sure that we would want to be seen with him in that hat!

 We are off to see what he is cooking up tonight and then afterwards we will get the shortbread out and enjoy one last night of crumbs and sing songs before The Missus gets home tomorrow.

I hope it's not too early, there is a lot of crumbs and biscuits to clear up, and then there is the washing up, but that's another story!

Wot happened to the sun?

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Mr Brambles, Miss April and Miss May here!

Right, we have a question that needs answering!

Here we are, in the South East of England where we get most sunshine, it is August, and what do we get?

Wet!

I mean, it is just not on!

We should be getting sun tans and complaining about the heat!

We went out first thing this morning and you know what? It started to rain!

Even Snowflake was put out, I mean, can't a girl have a wee in peace!

Now I can feel rain!

 Holly and I had a good run up and down the beach but as soon as the rain started, we were off!

I feel rain and our coats are back in the car!

 Lunchtime came and we looked out the window to see no rain drops!

That was it, a quick woof at Old Two Legs and we were all off in the big car!

Well, it started OK, the walk that is, but pretty soon Miss May said that she could sniff rain in the air!

That was it, we went up a gear and stopped dawdling !

I can sniff rain is on it's way!

 Mind you, we still stopped at the sandy beach to have a little dig in the sand and Miss May tried to sneak up on Holly but she will have to be quicker than that!

I can hear you breathing a mile away!

 We had a laugh at May's expense. You see, both of the new ferrets are going through a moult at the moment and there is tons of hair everywhere! Before they moult they are all fluffy and cuddly but during the moult they look right scruffy, well that is our observations when Brambles and Snowflake go through a moult.

Miss May has been shedding hair all over the place and at the moment all her hair has gone except the bit around her back side and her tail.

To be honest, she looks like a Mini Two Legs who's knicker elastic has gone twang and her knickers are slipping down!

She needs a new bit of Knicker Elastic!

 Needless to say, Miss May was 'Not Amused'!

It's a good job we don't moult, instead we have to get washed and shaved every six weeks!

I'm not sure which is the worse!

Now we are off to mug OTL 'cos we had Doggy Scoff served up today, all because he forgot to get the chicken out of the freezer!

He's not going to forget tonight, we'll make sure of that!

We have discovered their little secret!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Mr Brambles, Miss April and Miss May back again!

We had some fun again last night, Holly tried to get Old Two Legs to do the 'The Tail Wiggle Dance' again but he was too interested in a new bottle of Malt Whisky and a pack of short bread.

Mind you, we also helped him finish the shortbread, mind you, he can keep the whisky, not our type of drink!

 Just for a change, it was all sunny down on the beach and both ferrets had some fun digging in the sand. Holly was more interested in catching a few rays to top up her tan!

This beats woofing at birds!

Mr Brambles went down to the waters edge to look for his 'Weeing Rock' but the tide was right in and it covered all the rocks. So, he had a wee on the sand but what he didn't see was the waves creeping closer and closer and in the end he got a wet butt!

It's behind you!

 Back home OTL cooked up some lambs heart for us and then spent some time cleaning out the ferret cages. Holly and I found a quiet place to snooze and only woke up when the post man called!

Lunchtime Miss April and Miss May were all excited about going down the beach again. They had never been on the beach before and it was all new sniffs and the sand was just great for digging in!

Miss April was play a game of 'Hide n Seek' with OTL and he pretended he couldn't see her!

O Dear! Just where has April got to?

They started off by digging a hole together, a bit like Holly and me when we get going!

Then the hole got deeper and suddenly there wasn't enough room for them both, so off went May to dig her own hole!

This hole 'aint big enough for the two of us!

 April carried on digging and laughing at the same time, you could tell she was in a good mood!

I jus' Love a Sand Hole!

 Mind you, May wasn't going to let April dig the bigger hole, so she started digging and throwing sand up into the air!

This is how to do it!

It was a little while later that the rain started to come down, which didn't please the ferrets or us!

We got to the 'Short Cut' turnoff and headed back towards the car!

Back home both ferrets went straight to bed for a snooze while Holly and I did some investigating!

You see, in the morning, after coming back from our run, Brambles and Snowflake have a rampage around the house while OTL cleans their cage. Mr Brambles heads down to our biscuit bowl and has a good feast on our 'Chicken Biscuits', they with a big fat belly, he waddles back up the stairs and into his cage to sleep it all off!

Snowflake sometimes has a nibble but mostly spends her time investigating The Missus card making stash and playing games with OTL.

After they both are back in their cage, April and May are let out and straight away they head for the kitchen.

They both have a feast on our biscuits as well, then, after a nibble or two, they grab a biscuit and head out into the lounge to stash the biscuit, for later on!

Now OTL and TM know the ferrets hid biscuit behind the book case and under the TV stand as well, but, us being woofers with very good noses for food have found some other places where they have stashed our biscuits!

Under the chair where Holly likes to snooze, dreaming of food!

Now we know the name "ferret" is derived from the Latin furittus, meaning "little thief", I think we can agree with that as well!

Walking? No, I'm Swimming!

Hi Woofers!

It's us, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Mr Brambles, Miss April and Miss May back again!

What a night last night! We had such fun and didn't get to bed until very late!

OTL was telling stories of when he was young and he and his woofer (Bob) would go for long walks in the fields near his house and chase rabbits and hunt for mice and voles!

Holly showed us a new dance she had made up called 'The Tail Wiggle' then she and OTL danced around the sofa doing The Tail Wiggle which was hilarious 'cos OTL hasn't got a tail so he had to use a dish cloth tucked into his belt!

Holly and I were laughing so much it hurt!

Surprising enough,  we were up early 'cos today we had to take the caravan to the menders for a couple of repairs that OTL couldn't do at home.

Out we went for our walk and got to the beach just as the first few drops of rain started to fall.

I feel rain drops!

 We didn't hang about too long and all of us were heading back to the car.

Just for a change, Brambles wasn't hanging about either, sniffing as normally does, instead he was chasing up the path behind Snowflake telling her to 'Get a Wiggle on'!

Come on Girl, get yer tail in gear!

We got to the car just as the rain started to come down proper like and luckily, OTL had one of our towels in the back so we all got a rub down, including the ferrets, before heading back home.

After clearing up all the mess from last night OTL asked if we wanted to go with him to the caravan menders.

Silly question!

As we headed off the rain really came down in bucket loads, I mean, there were puddles like ponds and ponds like lakes!

When we got there the rain eased off enough for OTL and the man to go into the caravan to talk about the things that needed doing without getting too wet!

We of course stayed in the car, we're not daft!

Back home Holly and I went off for a snooze while OTL got some 'Paperwork' done that he had been putting off for a while. Too much partying!

Lunchtime came and it was still raining, Holly and I had to get dressed up in our rain coats. The Page Three Girls hadn't got any coats and they were complaining that they were going to get wet!

But, we were in luck, when we got out of the car, the rain had stopped!

Mind you, that didn't stop April complaining about getting her paws wet!

She is as bad as Holly!

 OTL picked them both up and went down to the beach where it wasn't so wet and they had some fun showing Holly and me how good they were at hole digging!

 It seems that Ferrets carefully mark out the edges of the hole very carefully and then.........

Dive in and go like the clappers!

 It was good fun watching them throwing the sand about!

Along the beach we all spotted a large log that had been washed up. Holly and I had a sniff and carried on up the beach. The Girls decided to climb all over the log giving it a good sniff!

Pleeese Daddy, can we take it home?

 The sun came out for a while and Holly said she was getting a bit warm in our coats!

Now I'm too warm!

 Miss May was ferreting around the rock pools and at one point she slide down a rock and landed in the water!

That was fun!

 Back home OTL was busy working so we left him alone and went off to woof at everyone who passed our front door!

The Missus is having fun 'Up North' and making lots of cards and meeting her mates. We haven't heard if she got caught in the rain today but she will phone tonight to find out if OTL is keeping the house clean!

As if!

Sun and then the rain!

Hi Woofers!

It's us, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Mr Brambles, Miss April and Miss May here again!

Well, wot a mix up day, it was super sunny when we went out this morning but when it came time to do the lunchtime walk, down came the rain!

Our morning run was OK, Miss Snowflake even had a little dig in the sand before climbing over the sea weed for her morning wee!

Over there looks good!

 Holly was mooching around on the beach when Old Two Legs told her that there was a woofer coming along the Sea Wall, it was Butch!

Now we all know that Holly fancies him rotten and always dances around him like a Big Tart! 

Yo! Butch Baby!

Today he stopped jumping around and said, 'Why do you call me Butch?' then he added, 'My Name is Bert!'

Holly said sorry for calling him by the wrong name and then went on Tarting about!

The name is Bert, short for Albert!

It was then that the ferrets and I wandered past him, but on the beach, and he looked over at the ferrets and asked if they were Holly's sisters!

Are those your sisters?

Holly had to admit they were but added, 'the brown one is my brother'

It was a good job Brambles didn't hear that or he would have got her to repeat it all the way home!

We looked at Michael's blog and saw he attended a show and met up with the Harrietsham Ferret Rescue who were doing some 'Ferret Racing' at the show! Have a look at Micheal's day out http://michaelgoodes.blogspot.co.uk/

OTL was watching the F1 Racing but for a change, he watched most of the race 'cos the rain was coming down and Holly and I decided that even with rain coats, we didn't fancy going out just yet!

So, just before the race finished, we decided that it was time to go out and OTL, the Page Three Girls, Holly and me went to the field behind the houses and had a run around. Well the ferrets ran and Holly and I chased a cat over a fence and OTL tried to keep order!

We are going to have a party tonight, so OTL is getting the Shortbread out and Holly and I have our 'Biscuit Bones', (which make loads of crumbs!)

We plan to put a couple of Bob Dylan CD's on and some Dog Music, (Howling Wolf) with a bit of luck we may stay up all night!

Visitors and I get Soggy!

Hi Woofers!

It's us, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Mr Brambles, Miss April and Miss May here again!

 I don't know what it has been like where you are but here it has been very hot today!

Even first thing this morning it was warm and getting warmer!

We waved good bye to The Missus as she headed off to Birmingham then Snowflake, Brambles, Holly, me and Old Two Legs headed for the beach!

Miss Snowflake didn't fancy digging holes this morning but had a really good 'Ferret Around' in the long grass!

I don't think it's a Sandy Day!

 Before getting onto the grass path we met up with young Barney II who was out for his morning walk. He doesn't get off the lead much 'cos he goes deaf when the lead is removed and doesn't come back when called!

It's called 'Selective Hearing'!

Lunch time we were out with the Page Three girls but it was a bit too warm for them and OTL had to give them a lift back to the car. Mind you, they did get down for a walk and a sniff but they said it was better being carried!

We were going up the path when we heard a terrible noise coming from out of the sky, OTL took a picture and it proved to be a low flying plane following the shore line.

We got back home and both ferrets crashed out after a drink!

An hour later we got a knock on the door and Tilly and Sassy and Andrea were visiting us!

We went back down to the beach again and there were loads of Two Legs enjoying the sunshine. First of all the tide was coming in and there were three young TL's messing about in the mud and one was even rolling in the mud!

You can imagine what OTL would have said if I did that!

Oh Dear! Wot a mess!

 Then there were a couple of older TL's waiting for the water to get deeper so they can go in swimming!

It will be here soon, trust me!

 Tilly and Sassy found some Sea Weed with a tiny little crab hanging onto the frond end! We reckon it will take a few years before it was big enough to eat!

Sassy put it back into the sea!

 Then we found a small stick and I went in swimming to fetch the stick. Holly stayed on the beach and kept her paws dry!

I ended up a very Soggy Doggy but OTL had a towel in the car, so I got a rub down before we got home. Mind you, I had to stay in the back of the car 'cos no one wanted a soggy doggy on their lap!

 Back home Holly and I looked for a cool place to enjoy a snooze while OTL burns some food!
