Hello Woofers!
We are here again! Daisy, Holly,Miss May, Miss April, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret!
We had the delivery man call with a package for Old Two Legs, a Landranger Map of the Orkney Mainland!
It is getting closer! I expect OTL will be working on dates and routes and B&B's and just what he wants to see when he gets up there!
I know he has already enquired about a B&B and had a reply, so that bit is sorted, almost!
It is going to be fun being looked after by The Missus for over a week!
I wonder what trouble we can all get into while OTL is away?
Today we had a walk on the beach and this time Miss April said she felt like a bit of fresh air, so she was in the bag with her nose sticking out the top!
She even got out for a run on the beach!
And that's when it happened...........................................OTL fell over!
He got his paws all crossed and down he went! Makes you wonder what he would do with four paws like wot we got?
OTL Can't run backwards!
Well we all laughed and poor April had to be put back in the bag 'cos she could hardly breath for laughing!
Both Fred and Wendy were out for a midday run but instead of walking along the sea wall to help keep their claws trim, they instead went on the beach for a little 'Dig and Whizz'.
Well, in Freddie's case it was a 'Dig and Waddle'!
We were having a great time and the ferrets were enjoying a good roll in the grass when...........

OTL is a Smelly Nelly and April is picking up!
Hi Woofers,
It's Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss April, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret again!
Well, sorry about the late blog but Old Two Legs has been out working today and he forgot to switch the laptop on so I can do the blog!
Mind you, he has been working on the dustbin trucks again and they have left a sniff around him the The Missus calls a 'Pong'!
He is at the moment trying to scrub off the sniff in the shower!
Now, we managed to get a couple of videos of today's fun and games!
Smelly Nelly a Jungle Ferret and a Punchup!
We can hear OTL getting out of the shower, so off we go to see what he has for dinner!

Good News for April!
Hi Woofers!
Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss April, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret here!
Well, we have some good news today!
Yesterday we got Aprils meds and Old Two Legs started her off with a dose of Diuretic to get her going, and it did!
She was in and out of the Poo Pot all evening and through the night!
This morning she was all snoozy in her bed, tucked up with Miss May.
Normally what happens is that OTL gets his breakfast and a couple of bowls of Lactose Free Milk for the ferrets and while he is slurping away at his rabbit food, the May and April have a small rampage around the office and slurp their milk down. Now, of late, April has had a slurp then headed off for a snooze. This is all to do with here heart condition, however, this morning, OTL gave her another dose of the Diuretic and a quarter of her 'Heart Tablet'.
She slurped down the mixture with the help of a slosh of Ferretone then she was out of her sleeping bag and then set about trying to have a fight with Freddy and Wendy!
This is, 'Back to Normal' as far as she is concerned!
It looks like the meds are working!
OK. we know there is no 'Cure' for her heart condition but it is good to see her all bright and bouncing around. You know, she even flew downstairs to raid the biscuits and hide the stash behind the telly!
OTL said he was 'Well Pleased' with the results!
We still have to keep an eye on her but claws crossed things have improved no end!
We went out for our walk this morning and April came along as well but other than a wee and a poo, she stayed in the ferret bag 'cos it was rather chilly and raining!
We didn't mind and we issued an 'Excused Duties' chit for her this week!
Lunchtime came, Freddy and Wilma came out with us but decided that it was really too cold for walking. Freddy did his 'Rolling on His Back' bit and refused to walk! In the end he got a lift but only up to the bench where he was put down to walk all the way back to the car!

While we were out OTL stopped by the power station and got his big camera out. We were all wondering what he was doing when there was a Big Bang!
Freddy jumped and said it wasn't him! Wendy shouted 'Incoming' while Holly and I ducked under the doggy towel in the back of the car!
This what happened............
Then it all started to fall down...................
Then it all went 'Whumph!' and the dust went every where!
Now, if that made a big crash, just imagine what it will be like when the chimney comes down!
We were glad to get away from that pile of rubble and back to a nice warm cushion for a snooze!
April is OK and snoozing and even May has moved to another bed for a snooze.
She has been spending a lot of time cuddled up to April and we think she knew that April wasn't feeling too well.
The fact she left to have a snooze in another bed is good news!
Looking over to them I see they are back together again.
Freddy and Wendy are also sharing the same bed, so, everything is peace and quiet at the moment!

April gets her Meds!
Hi Woofers!
Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss April Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret here!
Well, today has been busy. Old Two Legs has worrying about April, April has been sleeping for most of the day!
The vet telephoned to say he had the medicine in for April and OTL was off like a shot to pick it up.
We were just about to go out with Fred and Wendy but did a divert to collect the bottles!
When we got there, OTL had to take Wendy in 'cos she was in the Ferret Bag 'cos we still can't trust her in an enclosed space with Freddy!
Needless to say, all the staff there were going Ooooo! and Ahaaaaa! over her and all she wanted was a walk around the waiting room!
When we got back from our walk April got the first medicine which is the diuretic. At first she didn't want to slurp it up but with the addition of some Ferretone, she licked every drop up in the end.
There are some pills that have to be chopped up into quarters and given an hour before eating. That is going to be difficult 'cos ferrets sort of 'Graze' all day long and trying to calculate when they are going to eat is almost impossible!
OTL reckons to try he pills first thing tomorrow after she has woken up.
Today OTL took nothing but video 'cos he says it is easier that taking single photos!
I have to say that the video are not what I call 'Dramatic' but we had fun!
So this is us Walking with Ferrets!

Another Windy Day!
Hi Woofers!
Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss April, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret back again!
Well, not wot we would call a 'Sunny Day', no rain, but the clouds were dark and the wind nearly blew Old Two Legs hat off!
He has one of these Tilly Hats and it has a special band that does a good job of keeping it in place when the wind blows. OTL says it is a design used by the Canadian Mounties in their hats!
Mind you, OTL looks nothing like a Canadian Mountie, he hasn't even got any riding boots, just a pair of Farmers Black Wellies and they don't count!
Mind you, he does a good rendition of 'I'm a Lumberjack and I'm OK'!
Today April came out with us this morning and had a little walk but got a little tired and got back into the Ferret Bag then she spent the next half an hour looking over the top at May, Holly and me!
Lunchtime we were out with Freddy and Wendy who not only had a run on the Sea Wall but enjoyed a good run on the beach and a roll in Mays favourite plant!
It's Fun being a Woofer!
Back home OTL has been doing some research on Aprils heart condition and while there is nothing we can do to 'cure' her, we can however help keep the fluid down in her abdomen by administering a Diuretic. OTL phoned the vets and they are to get in a syrup which will be easier to administer.
From what OTL has read, we should see an improvement in a couple of hours!
Not sure what we will see, a slimmed down April who can't get off the Poo Pot for wee'ing?
Well, anything to make her life easier and improve her quality of life.
OTL is all for that!
Holly and I reckon we could have a better quality of life if we got more Chicken Fillets and more of a share of OTL's dinner, but I suppose you can't have it all!
I tell you another thing, that camera OTL uses makes it easier for him to make video of the ferrets. Holly and I want more of us playing around but all he comes up with is................
Of course, if you have April, then somewhere there will be May and although it is Aprils head, May is under the covers giving April a warming cuddle, as ferrets do!

May and April get promoted to Honorary Woofer Status!
Hi Woofers!
Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss April, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret here!
Another Super Sunday, even if it did rain today!
After yesterdays fun and games, it was good to have an extra half an hour snooze before getting up to go for our walk!
Today April came along as well but stayed tucked up in the ferret bag for most of the walk. She said that she had 'done her stuff' on the carpet before leaving home, so just fresh air today please and don't bounce the bag as you walk!
OTL has got some clearing up when he gets back!
One thing we did notice, blossom!
It's not even February yet and there it is blooming all over the place!
Old Two Legs had ordered some more bedding for the ferrets and of course, we have all tried it out and little Wendy has been chasing Freddy from one bed to another! It seems she just can't decide on which bed to call her own, so she has decided that they all belong to her!
Now, Holly and I have been in a 'meeting' today and we have decided that both Miss May and Miss April are to get promoted to the position of 'Honorary Woofer First Class with Sniffs'!
Although Miss April is not as active outside as normal, she has shown all the attributes of developing into a Woofer who specialises in 'Subtle Sniffs'!
Miss May is the Woofer equivalent of a Boarder Terrier with a Tenacious Attitude!
We have instructed them in all the 'Secret Signs' and now they can talk to other woofers by leaving special signs in the grass!
We also had a visitor today, The Cat Woman, she has come over to play 'Glue Slapping' with The Missus.
Holly and I decided that it would be prudent to keep out of their way 'cos we don't want to end up with glue all over our tails!
Lunchtime we managed to stop OTL from pounding away on the computer and take us out for a walk.
Freddy and Wendy were snoring their tails off and we decided to let them carry on instead of waking them from a super ferret slumber!
We enjoyed going down to a part of the Sea Wall we normally miss with the ferrets. Holly and I had a great time catching on the sniffs!
We didn't hang about too much 'cos the sky looked like it had some rain up in the cloud and was getting ready to dump in down on us!
Back home it was Doggy Scoff so I went on the hunt for any Ferret Stash I could find. There was some in the office and TM's store room and behind the curtains down in the lounge and behind the Butchers Block!
It's just a case of using your nose and knowing where to look!
Mind you, if I'm in luck OTL may have some dinner I can mug!
See you tomorrow and we should have some news on April and the vet!

We've been visiting!
Hi Woofers!
Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss April, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret here!
Yes! I Know! Late again!
Blame it all on Alun and Glynis, they made us so welcome that we stayed too long visiting and having a woofing good time!
We have been waiting for the vet to call regarding April but it seems that his 'Phone a Vet' is away or having the weekend off, so we will have to wait until Monday when Old Two Legs will phone him!
Just to be on the safe side and as it was a bit cold today, OTL let April off the morning walk and instead took May on her own!
One thing that May does very well is to gallop! She doesn't run, she gallops! Then when we stop, she has to join us in hunting sniffs!
I can see that it won't be long before her and April make 'Honory Woofer' status!
Back home Freddy Boy has been hiding bits of chicken strips all over the place. Trouble is, both May and Wendy go searching for these tasty morsels and when Freddy goes back to where he stashed them, they've gone!
May being the sneaky one has suggested that it might be the Nargles!
She then did a very good impression of a Nargle pinching Freddy's slurp of Ferretone!
That May is getting just too clever for her own good!
When we were visiting Alun and Glynis, we also met Warren and Lisa-Marie. Now Lisa is dead keen on horses and keeps her horse in a big stable. Trouble is, with the feed sometimes dropping on the floor, there is always a passing rat to eat the dropped grain. So, to get rid of the rat someone has suggested that a few drops of Ferret Poo scattered around will deter rats from coming around. Now, just where can we get a ton or two of Ferret Poo?
Given a couple or three days we reckon our little ferrets could help out with a donation or six!
Mind you, there were some strange sniffs in the woods close to Aluns place but Holly reckons that it is weasels or maybe a stoat or two!
I'm not so sure myself!
We are off to bed now 'cos we are all tired!

Not the best day we have had!
Hello Woofers!
Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss April, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret here!
Well, today has been one of those 'Ever Decreasing Circles' type of day. We were up really early to get our walk in before Wendy was off to the vets. I tell you, weeing in the dark is no fun! We all managed to get back with thirty minutes to spare, so it was a gentle drive for April.
The vet had another go at listening to her heart and pronounce that she had a 'Heart Murmur' and that her tummy was full of fluid!
Not a good thing!
Having a dickey heart also means that she is not getting enough oxygen in her blood system and that is the reason she sleeps so much and seems to have lost her 'Sparkle'!
Old Two Legs agreed to an x ray and an ultra scan on her to see what was going on, he will get the full results and get a look this evening when he visits the vet.
The vet is to 'Phone a Vet' who is into ferrets for some advice on medication. If there is history of heart problems and a drug has proved to be of help then we have a good chance of keeping April around for some time but we won't know that until this evening.
OTL is not very happy at the moment, as he says, he has lost three ferrets in five months and that hurts.
We are all keeping our claws crossed that the 'Phone a Vet' will come up with something.
April says that she didn't mind the x ray 'cos she got a good slurp of Ferretone that OTL had left with the vet but the scan involved having the hair shaved off her tummy and now she is feeling the drafts!
On a brighter note, OTL found Freddy and Wendy cuddled up in the same bed last night and they were still there this morning! Mind you, Wendy still gave Freddy's ears a box when he refused to let her have the chicken strip he was eating!
They have been closer together today and even had a go at playing when they were on a rampage around the house. So we still think there is a good chance they will settle down together and when you think about it, she has been here less than two weeks, so there is plenty of time!

The vet is to 'Phone a Vet' who is into ferrets for some advice on medication. If there is history of heart problems and a drug has proved to be of help then we have a good chance of keeping April around for some time but we won't know that until this evening.
OTL is not very happy at the moment, as he says, he has lost three ferrets in five months and that hurts.
We are all keeping our claws crossed that the 'Phone a Vet' will come up with something.
April says that she didn't mind the x ray 'cos she got a good slurp of Ferretone that OTL had left with the vet but the scan involved having the hair shaved off her tummy and now she is feeling the drafts!
On a brighter note, OTL found Freddy and Wendy cuddled up in the same bed last night and they were still there this morning! Mind you, Wendy still gave Freddy's ears a box when he refused to let her have the chicken strip he was eating!
They have been closer together today and even had a go at playing when they were on a rampage around the house. So we still think there is a good chance they will settle down together and when you think about it, she has been here less than two weeks, so there is plenty of time!

It's the fault of OTL!
Hi Woofers!
Here we are, back again!
Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss April, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret!
Well, first the good news!
We have spotted Wendy cuddled up to Freddy in the tray next to the poo tray! OK, not the most desirable residence but it is warm and cuddly in the blanket!
Then today she picked on him again but this time he turned on her hand held her down on the floor with his teeth clamped firmly around her neck. Old Two Legs had to prise them apart and tell them both off!
Will she learn the lesson I wonder?
Yesterday OTL was down the dentist early evening having two fillings done to his teeth. Painful and expensive!
Then he had to take Miss April down to see the vet 'cos she seems to have lost her sparkle and gained a few grammes in weight around her tummy!
The vet couldn't feel any lumps or fluid and was a bit puzzled, just like OTL!
That also messed up the blog yesterday 'cos OTL didn't get back until late and by the time he had his dinner, he was too tired to help me on the laptop!
Too many passwords for my little claws!
We have got to take Wendy back on Friday morning for an x-ray and an ultra scan to see if there is anything wrong.
It may of course just be her putting on weight 'cos she eats too much, but OTL wants to make sure!
This morning on the beach May was playing 'Bulldozers' in the sand, even though it was a little wet and she got 'Buzzed' by a couple of woofers!

Lunchtime it was all rush and tear 'cos OTL had to go out working all afternoon, I mean, at his age he should have given up work years ago.
I didn't even start working 'cos it's a nasty habit to get into!
So, back he comes at six thirty, tired and ratty!
So it is his fault we are all behind like a Woofers Tail!
Well, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

Freddy gets kicked out of bed, Again!
Hi Woofers!
Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss April, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret back again!
Well, I know you are just dying to hear how Freddy got on last night.
He ended up in on the floor next to the poo pot, until Old Two Legs gathered him up, put him back into the hammock and covered him with a blanket.
That Wendy can be 'Sooo Bossy' sometimes!
Today we were up a little late so we missed the sunrise when we got onto the beach this morning.
We did spot the rain creeping up over the horizon!
There were a load of sea gulls fighting each other over some slices of bread that had been left on the beach. Holly and I thought it was great fun charging down the beach woofing our tails off and making the gulls fly around waiting for us to leave!
We got back before the rain arrived so we managed to enjoy a Lambs Heart Meal, without damp tails!
OTL went off to do his poo shovelling duties in the ferret cages and then it was back to work!
Lunchtime came a bit late and we didn't get out at our normal time but Fred and Wendy were more interested in trying to get into the ferret bag but as only one can get in at one time, OTL decided that they both had to walk!
Freddy seems to have a thing about cigarette butts, it must be the sniff 'cos whenever he finds one he has a quick chew!
OTL has his time cut out preventing Freddy form finding the butts but some are hidden behind the weeds on the path!
Holly says that he must have a 'Habit'!
Back home Wendy and Fred went into the cage and Wendy headed for the food bowl, as you do!
Fred had a drink and decided he would try to get his favourite sleeping place back off Wendy.
He's a brave Ferret!

Maybe one day they will share a cuddle and a snooze, but it is still early days!
