Sniffing Sunday!

 Hi Woofers!

It's Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here again!

You know, Sunday is the one day of the week when we can officially be lazy, take over the sofa or stretch out on the bed once the duvet has been made up again!

Eric and Wendy have fun rattling the cage door to come out and then rampage all around the house, pausing just to scratch on the bedroom door to let Holly and I know they are outside having fun!

What they don't know is the fact that both Holly and I have chews under our paws and are enjoying nibbles!

While we were out we bumped into the Husky Woofers who are great fun, well, they are not too fast and I can run circles around them!

Another trick I can do is to sneak up for a butt sniff without them knowing!

OK, Gottcha that time!

I'm not too sure which is the best, the sneaky butt sniff and the danger of being woofed at or sniffing the sniff of a woofer who has passed by and wee'd some hours beforehand!

Once again Eric woofed down his RC Powder and milk but this morning, he drank it all without having to put Ferretone in it and even more amazing, he drank it all down in the kitchen!

Since then he has been charging around the house and after a short snooze, he rattled the cage so much that Old Two Legs shooed Holly and I out of the office and let Eric loose for another rampage! After charging around and creating havoc he finally fell asleep on Holly's bed!

That's the trouble with ferrets, they need eighteen hours sleep each day!

Now, what's all this about something swimming off coast down here? We haven't read anything about monsters of the shores of Grain! Mind you, we are not connected to that Faceache thingy so things like that pass us by! OTL did some investigating and found out that it was a seal that was spotted off shore. We have seen a couple of them things chasing the fish just off shore. Normally these seals hang around on the islands just off Horrid Hill near Rochester but occasionally they drift down stream looking for food!

We are all getting ready for the F1 racing today, should be fun!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

Eric loves Maggs!

 Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here.

Now, as you know, Eric has been 'not very well' with a tummy upset and to help him get better has been given some penicillin the calm his tum. Old Two Legs has been helping him by squirting this stuff from a syringe into his throat.

Also, OTL has been trying to get Eric to drink up a mixture of RC (Royal Canin) convalescence power which is supposed to help him put on weight and increase his appetite!

Up to now we have been succesful regarding the penicillin, although there is always a struggle, but he gets there in the end.

The RC is another matter, even with a squirt of Ferretone in the mixture, Eric has steadfastly refused to eat it all up and it has been Miss Wendy who has slurped it all down!

Until today.

Today we got a package addressed to Eric arrive in the post. Now, Eric was asleep in one of the cuddle cups, sort of half in and half out, mainly cos Miss Wendy was in the bottom of the cuddle cup.

The Missus came clumping up the stairs calling out that Eric should get his tail our of bed and see what TM had in her paw!

Eric, still sleepy fell out of bed and landed on the shelf where his food bowl is kept, took one look at TM's paw and squealed with delight.

There, in a package all clear and crinkly was a pack of smoothies and a note that said 'To Eric, with love from Maggs 💗'

Well, that was it, Eric was playing with the smoothies as soon as he got out of the cage. He grabbed them, rolled on them and then ran off and hid them behind the cardboard sack that holds the ferret food!

Once he had hidden them he climbed onto the desk and started to slurp the RC mixture which also contains a splash of Ferretone!

You know, he slurped all of it, right down to the bottom of the dish!

So, a big 'Thank You' to Auntie Maggs for such a super present for little Eric!

We are off to watch the F1 racing, providing it stops raining!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret (plus his smoothies)!

Truffle Hounds!

 Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret back with you!

Well, here we are, Friday and the beginning of the weekend only it +seems to have lost its sparkle!

Just before we left this morning to go for our morning stroll, the rain stopped. Now that was a good thing 'cos that means we can wash our paws walking through the grass while washing off the mud we had picked up by walking through the muddy bits!

Just before we left home The Missus gave Old Two Legs 'Instructions' and when TM gives 'Instructions' you had better listen!

So, he listened!

The 'Instructions' went like this..........'As you go through the fence into the Old Golf Course you must turn right' she said, waving her left paw. OTL felt he needed clarification and pointed towards her left paw and said 'left?'

'Yus', says TM and carries on, 'Turn left and just a bit further down, on the right, (waving her right paw) you will find a pear tree, pick me some fine pears, ones without wasp holes in them, OK?'

We found the pear tree, chased off a partridge that was making out it's Christmas List and picked three pears without wasp holes in them.

That should keep TM happy!

As we carried on OTL got to telling us about Truffle Hounds who earned their keep by finding and digging up Truffle Fungi. What he also said was that Truffle Hounds could be Woofers but mostly they were pigs!

Holly said she could be a Truffle Hound 'cos she was always looking for food and she didn't like it when I said that she would be great 'cos Truffle Hounds were also fat, just like her!

It was then that the fight started!

We were still talking about Truffles at lunchtime when we headed off to the beach and for the first part of the walk we were snuffling around looking for Truffles!

Most of what we found wasn't Truffles, but rabbit poo, which we reckon tasted like Truffles but no good for OTL!

We found some Fungi hidden in the grass but OTL says that Truffles are buried in the ground and not in the grass.

The ones we found had just poked their heads up out of the grass and looked like they wouldn't taste very nice anyway!

Ones like these are normally found in deep grasses or piles of leaf mould and sometimes grew to be the size of dinner plates!

We got fed up with Truffle hunting in the end and headed into the woods to check on the leaf colours. There was one tree that looked like it was about to loose all it's leaves, well maybe in a week or so.

The colours are turning but there is still too much green!

The afternoon was spent looking at the TV and the F1 racing but it was just too wet to go out to play so maybe they will get the practice and the Q1+2 done tomorrow.

Have fun over the weekend!

Bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.
