Snowflakes Harness causes some fun today!

Daisy, Holly and Snowflake back again!

This morning we were late in going out for our morning stroll along The Sea Wall 'cos Old Two Legs got up late and then, after cleaning out Snowflakes Poo Pans, decided to have a game with her using the 'Squeaky Mouse'!

I was sitting on his office chair watching the games and cheering Snowflake on every time she grabbed the mouse!

OTL was sitting on the ground in front of the chair and I got so excited that I bashed the back of his head with my paw and that put him off and Snowflake got the Mouse and beat it up good and proper!

So that's why we were late for our walk, not that it worried us 'cos when we got down there almost all of the snow had gone and we were back to muddy puddles everywhere!

No Snow, just mud, again!

The tide was going out and the grey sky and cold wind made it look very bleak!

In the Bleak Cold Winter, we know a song like that!

We had a bit of a chase around and on the way met up with a couple we see sometimes, terriers like us but a bit older! We said hello but they were more interested in playing up to OTL and of course OTL just loves that, he can be a right sucker sometimes!

Back home The Missus was going potty, it seems that she has been watching the Create & Craft TV show where they have shown some of her cards as examples of what you can do with the stamps they were selling. The presenter then tried to copy TM's design, with a little twist of their own, to be honest, we prefer TM's card as the one they made up looked too loaded up with stuff and the secret of TM's cards are, Bright Colours and Simplicity'. TM was getting all excited 'cos they had picked up her card and told the world that it was made by 'Eileen Godwin'!

Now because of her being 'Named', TM's Facebook thing and email box have been going potty with Ooooo's and Ahaaaa's.

Gawd, her head is big enough as it is now, if it gets any bigger OTL will have to widen the front door, just to get her in and out!

I suppose now we will be subjected to continuous replays of the show and the bits that feature her cards, all week long, boring or wot!

After all this, OTL got Snowflake out of her cage and gave her some of the Ferretone, now when Snowflake is licking this up, OTL can do almost anything with her and this time he fitted her new harness that arrived in the post yesterday. It is a pretty pink thing with white spots and after a while was fitted to Snowflake who was a bit unsure of it to begin with and needed some additional Ferretone, just to settle her nerves of course!

Then OTL took her outside to the garden and she had a walk around the back garden sniffin all the sniffs like wot a ferret should!

That was OK until she came to the back gate, she dived under the gate to do some investigating, found the harness stopped her, turned around and wriggled backwards out of the harness and was off to see the world. Of course, the back gate was locked and there was OTL panicking to get it unlocked before Snowflake caught the next bus into town!

By the time he got the gate ready to open, back came Snowflake, under the gate, saying that it was boring out there and she preferred the garden instead!

More adjustments needed on the harness me thinks!

 The lunch time walk was as bleak as this mornings! It was half a degree warmer but the wind was stronger, so adding in the wind chill factor, (Don't I sound Posh!) it was a few degrees colder!

There was an Oyster Catcher digging away in the mud and she was having a right grumble about the quality of the food and on top of that claimed she'd rather have steak and chips 'cos she didn't like shell fish!

I could do with a nice juicy steak!

A bit further on we came across some Brent Geese who were poking about in the mud just off the beach and Holly mused, not for the first time, 'Do you thing they taste like Chicken?'

We taste horrible, like mud and poo on a bad day!

We met up with a Husky going the other way and he called out 'Baking, innit?' Wot planet is he from?

 OTL was all wrapped up like an Egyptian Mummy and looked a proper Wally!

Back home TM was still swanning around going on about her cards, you know, if it gets any worse we will be moving out 'cos there won't be any room for us and her ego!

After a snooze we awoke to OTL getting Snowflake into her harness, well, what woke us up was the slurping noise Snowflake was making as she is licking the bottle cap clean of Ferretone!

Then, grabbing his camera OTL marched downstairs and into the garden to see what Snowflake would make of the new 'Adjusted Harness'

First of all she had a sniff at the box where TM keeps the bird seed and declared it to be 'Uninteresting 'cos 'there's nuffin wriggling around inside'!

Then she tried to escape behind the garden table but this time the harness held her back and then she started to throw a wobbly 'cos she's not used to the harness and lead yet.

Quick, let's go this way!

So, with that, OTL picked her up and found she was shaking, which means she is scared, so he took her back inside and calmed her down with another lick of Ferretone!

Busy Doing Nothing, well almost!

Hi Woofers!

It's Daisy, Holly and Snowflake back with you again.

Today we have been without Old Two Legs for most of the day. Poor OTL had to go out early this morning to do some work and didn't get back until mid afternoon!

The Missus took us out for our morning walk over The Fields and we had a really good roll in the snow! Well, I did, Holly just had a sniff and said it was an old fox sniff.

Not sure if she meant the fox was old or the sniff was old!

Having finished all his work, OTL dropped into the 'Doggy Shop' to pickup some essential stuff for us, Doggy Scoff, Biscuits, Ferret Nuggets, Chicken Fillets and some Chicken & Rice Chews that Holly and I just 'Love'!

On the way out he passed the rabbit cage and thought about Holly's request for one, for lunch, but decided against it!

So he says!

He got home and had to go out again to deliver some stuff, so off we go with him and we ended up in the New Park.

It was covered in loads of snow, masses more that we had at home! It was great running after the ball and chasing each other and of course, having a good roll in the snow until OTL tells us to 'Get Up!' Then he calls us Smelly Nelly's'!

We had a game of 'Chase The Ball' and Holly even joined in!

We got to the top of the hill and Holly found some deep snow and was doing 'Nose Dives' so that she ended up covered in snow all over her head!

Of course, I just couldn't resist another roll while OTL was puffing his way up the hill!

Ooooooooh! I just Love a good roll!

Then we ran off down the other side and stopped to say 'Hello' to The Watchers 'cos you never know if they are awake or not and it's best to ignore them or they may chase us out of the park or tell OTL if we are naughty!

Then we went off to see if the Indians were home but there was no one there, Holly reckons they have gone away on a holiday to get warm!

 When we got home we had a rummage through the bag of stuff OTL had got from the 'Doggy Shop'  and found that he had brought a toy for Snowflake, what he got was a 'Cat Tease', now this thing is a stick with some string tied on the end and on the end of the string is a mock mouse. This mouse squeaks, just like a real mouse when you jiggle it about and OTL thought that Snowflake could get some exercise chasing it about when she is let out of Snowy Heights!

To begin with Snowflake didn't really understand what she had to do, so OTL is thrashing this mouse around the room and the mouse is going 'Squeak, Squeak and Snowflake is going 'What The ......!' and running for her safety shelter behind the picture frames!

After a while she gets the hang of it and proceeds to chase this mouse around all over the place. Sometimes OTL lets her catch the mouse and she rushes backwards into the hole she made and gives this mouse a real good shake and sits there waiting for it to stop squeaking, 'cos when it stops squeaking she can eat it!

Now, all the time this is happening, I'm sitting on OTL's office chair calling out instructions to Snowflake, like ' It's over your shoulder!' and 'It's Behind you!'

Snowflake hasn't had much exercise since arriving here, so it isn't long before she decides that the mouse is either blessed with immortality and is impervious to her fangs or OTL is being Sneaky!

She settles down to a slurp of Ferretone from OTL's palm while he is stroking her with the other hand, after which she heads back to Snowy Heights for a rest before dinner!

That leaves me on the floor, looking at this 'Cat Tease'. Now I don't do cats and the sniff of Catnip on the mouse really makes your eyes water but the feathers on the end of the stick are fun!

OTL started off by tickling my nose with the feathers, then he tapped me on the paw with them then the other paw and before long I was chasing these feathers all over the place!

I reckon that if Snowflake went after the mouse and I went after the feathers we could sort this 'Cat Tease' out good and proper!

 So I'm going to have a word with Holly and see if she is interested in a 'Combined Attack' tomorrow!

Back to normal all around!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly and Snowflake back with you!

Well, the good news is that Snowflakes system is back to normal!

Another, 'Back to Normal' thing was Holly. As soon as OTL said 'Walkies' she was by the front door and waiting for OTL to get his boots on!

We had a super run down on The Sea Wall, diving in and out of the snow. It was dead easy for us to spot the new sniffs, we just looked for the yellow snow!

We had a great time charging about in the field where we sometimes see rabbits!

Holly asked OTL what these marks were in the snow and OTL, being the 'Big White Hunter Type' said they were footprints made by a bird!

He couldn't tell us what sort of bird, so, failure there for OTL!

For a doggy that didn't like the snow yesterday, Holly was completely changed today, running and jumping all over the place, just like a daft doggy should do!

OTL said that he doesn't get daft and then started taking pictures of some dead flowers that have been cable tied to the bench for ages. Still, I suppose he knows what he wants to show!

There were a couple of times when we thought we spotted rabbits but as we charged after them, they turned into Blackbirds and flew off!

Back home OTL gave us a brush and we got stuck into some Chicken and Biscuits for breakfast while OTL let Snowflake out of her Snowy Heights to run around in the office.

We know that Snowflake is back to normal 'cos she had a couple of poo's overnight and as soon as OTL let her out for a runaround, she did another poo on the carpet!

OTL didn't seem too upset, not like when we were puppies and got caught short between the lounge and the garden, he used to get all loud and showy off with us!

Snowflake was chasing around looking for our squeaky toys that she steals and then stashes away in her 'Hiddy Holes'  under the office desk top, in amongst all the picture frames and tripods and stuff OTL keeps there. To Snowflake it is a super adventure park which is full of places only a ferret can get into!

It is the speed she goes in that amazes us, even faster than Holly with a tasty nibble!

OTL is sneaky too, 'cos he keeps an eye on where she hides the toys and gets them out while she is looking for the next one!

He even spotted her 'Ferreting Around' in my 'Day Bed' looking for stuff to steal!

We were late in going out at lunch time but we had another run down on The Sea Wall an Holly enjoyed it just as much as this morning!

OTL spotted some more bird tracks and said that they were Lapwing 'cos he just saw them fly away!

The snow was getting a bit 'slushy' so that means it is melting and if it carries on then we will have nothing but mud to walk on! Mind you, it looked pretty looking over to the Isle of Sheppy!

I was ferreting around under the grass to see how the mouses were doing and came out withy a load of snow on my nose, which made me sneeze!

Holly and I had a good game of chase, we took turns to be the Snow Fairy and the other one chased the Snow Fairy and rubbed her nose in the snow!

On our way back to the car we spotted Mrs Corvid up in the trees, 'Seen any good carrion?' she called, I've had nothing but dustbin fodder today and I just fancy a bit of meat to finish it off!

Holly suggested we tell her about the dead fox we spotted on the road but decided against that 'cos there were a couple of Magpie having a nibble as we passed on the way out!

Snowflake has been out again and running around the office. She told us that the harness OTL got from eBay has been posted and she is looking forward to getting it fitted, mainly because of the amount of Ferretone OTL will have to give her to stay still while he fits it!

That is nearly as good as out photo sessions!

She's Here and Holly Wimps Out!

Daisy, Holly and Snowflake here!

She's Here! She's Here! The Snow Fairy has arrived! We got up this morning and it was all sort of sleety and by nine when we went out there were loads of it falling out of the sky!

The Missus went out into the back garden and filled up the bird feeders and put some fruit cake on the ground to feed the birds. Little did she know that Holly had sneaked out  behind her and was eating the cake!

When TM found out she chased Holly all around the garden but Holly wouldn't drop the cake, as she said, 'To Hell with The Diet!'

We went down to The Sea Wall as normal and Holly and I went in and out of the grass, kicking up the snow and sniffin under it as well!

It's all sort of 'Frozen Sniffs!'

 We ran off down the path and Holly started to moan about the snow making her paws cold!

Hey! This stuff is cold on my claws!

Then we turned the corner and caught the wind and snow coming in off the sea. 'Ee Up!' says Holly in her best ferret accent, ' t'Blooming Cold Here!'

I didn't mind it really 'cos I had my coat on but Holly had taken it into her mind that 'Enough was Enough' and legged it back to the car!

I'm OK but where's Holly?

OTL was looking for Holly and he found her tracks in the snow, so, off we set 'Tracking Holly'!

OTL was calling her and whistling as well but no sign of her, so back he went to the car park and there she was, standing by the door woofing to get back in!

Come on, open the doors!

Talk about a wimp!

So, that was it, we all pile back into the car and head for home and a warm bed!

Snowflake thought it was funny and had a good laugh from inside her 'Play Box' she hides her toys in when she is let out of Snowy Heights, so OTL can clean it out.

You are a Pair of Wimps!

Snowflake says she isn't feeling 100% today and she has missed out on her morning poo, which is not normal for a ferret. Normally she produces a prodigious amount for such a small body but the raw chicken yesterday may have upset her, so she is on Ferret Nuggets today until she gets sorted!

OTL thinks she may be 'Self Regulating' her intake 'cos she isn't a piggy like Holly and, as she has been well fed since she has been here, it may be her having a small 'Fast' so she can get in between the stuff under the desk!

Lunch time came and I bullied OTL into going out for our walk but Holly saw me getting into my coat and legged it up stairs and hid in the bedroom! OTL decided he wasn't going to wait and he and I went over The Fields, a place I haven't been for some time!

This is fun!

It was cold, snowy and fun! I had great fun jumping in and out of the snow drifts and we even saw a fox crossing the field ahead of us. As there was only me, I decided not to chase it today and save it for when Holly is with me!

On our way back we spotted Mr Snowy in a neighbour's garden and OTL said it looked like it had an 'Afro' haircut!

Back home I had a snooze while OTL took some pictures of the birds in the tree in our garden, we saw Goldfinch and Sparrows.

Holly got fed up watching the birds and went out in the garden with TM, Holly had a nibble of the cake she had stashed behind the shed this morning, TM was not Happy!

So we settled down to a late afternoon snooze and Snowflake tucked herself into her bed as well. It was only OTL who stayed awake!

I can now sniff the dinner cooking but I reckon our chances of some nibbles is very low and it's all Holly's fault!

It's still snowing and they say there is more on the way so Holly and I are going to make two sledges out of Snowflakes Poo Trays and in the morning we can slide down The Sea Wall hills!

Snow? Wot Snow!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly & Snowflake here again!

Well, we woke up this morning expecting snow drifts up to the roof, total 'White Out' in the garden and icicles from gutter to ground.

What did we get?

Nuffin!

I've seen frost deeper than the snow that fell last night! The cars were barely covered and you could see more grass than snow!

Where's the Snow?

We went down to The Sea Wall in the big car 'cos Old Two Legs gets fed up waiting for the little cars heater to warm up! He also wants to show off that he has a 4x4 when the snow comes as well!

When we got down to The Sea Wall it was cold, the wind was blowing in off the sea and OTL said that it was cold because of the 'Wind Chill Factor'. Holly said she wanted to go home after she had done her business and walked off up the path towards the car!

This is disappointing, can we go home now?

OTL called her back and off we went to get our 'Morning Exercise'. We met up with that Bozo of a Labrador that thinks OTL is a 'Wonderful Two Legs' and he was jumping all around and making whining noises like a little puppy!

We got back to the car all sort of shivery and glad to be out of the wind!

Back to the car and the heater!

Back home it was a brush and a big bowl of Chicken and Biscuits followed by a carrot for Holly and a teeth cleaning chew for me!

OTL then cleared out Snowflakes cage and while he was doing that he let her loose on the floor for a run around, which she loves! It was all going OK until OTL decided to have a game with Snowflake, what he does is to let her collect the squeaky toys and stash them away in a corner and while she goes off to get another to stash, OTL pinches one and puts it back out for her to collect again!

Now, Snowflake got a Tinkly Ball yesterday and OTL got that and shook it so it made a noise, Snowflake went potty! She started to jump up and down, roll over and spin around and arch her back. OTL at first thought it was great fun but as the game proceeded he was not too sure if the noise was disturbing her. At one point, he was standing up and rattling the ball and Snowflake ran onto his foot and up his trouser leg to the top of his sock and gave him a 'Love Bite' on his leg!

Her teeth went through his skin and left a couple of puncture marks but they weren't deep and didn't really hurt at all!

Now we have got to work out if it is play or  is she afraid of the tinkle sound!

OTL gave Snowflake a chicken wing, all chopped up and 'Raw' which she loves. Then afterwards she got to lick a couple of drops of 'Ferretone' off OTL's hand. He does that so Snowflake associates OTL with 'Good Things' so she doesn't take it into her mind to bite him, especially when she dives up his trouser leg!

I wonder if that would work with Holly and me?

We all had a good snooze while OTL played around on his computer!

The lunch time walk was terrible, the wind was whipping in off the sea and there was a sort of frozen rain drops that were beating on us and it was difficult to keep our eyes open!

This is getting painful!

It wasn't long before we decided that enough was enough, I took one look around the corner and I couldn't even open my eyes!

This is Stupid!

Holly took the lead, 'I'm off' she said and headed up to the shortcut back to the car!

I'm Off!

Back home it was straight up to the office and into our day beds for a snooze to get warm again!

Snowflake was taking the mickey out of us for going out for a walk in the cold. She said that we should learn how to use a tray like wot she does!

At least we get to have a run about, not like her, she is not allowed out yet until we get a harness for her, then we'll see how she stands up to the cold!

I was in trouble and the Snow Fairy's still not here!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly & Snowflake back with you!

Last night I got into trouble!

You see, Jane & Ian came over for a meal and brought Snowflake a present of a rope bridge! So, I just had to do the testing to make sure it was strong enough for Snowflake!

This needs testing before she uses it!

 Now, it's very kind of them to bring Snowflake a present, but, they brought their dog Lucy with them and she is sneaky and on top of that she has got a silly grin!

Lucy is a six year old Jack Russell and she is Sneaky! 

She comes over to Old Two Legs and is all cuddly and rub her wet nose on his hand and 'Please Tickle my Ear' an 'Shaky Paw' an sit at his feet playing with my rope ball and showing off by throwing it up in the air and catching it before it lands on the ground!

Wot a Show Off!

After just a few minutes I had decided I didn't like her and what's more, she's a TART!

Well, I got fed up with all this showing off, no one is going to cuddle up to My OTL, without getting past me first!

So, I sat on OTL's lap and as soon as Lucy came near I did my 'Last Warning Growl!'

That's the one where I get really showy off an snap at who ever I'm doing it too!

It was at that point that OTL picked me up and took me to the office and left me there with nothing to do except talk to Snowflake, not even a nibble of dinner!

I was not a Happy Puppy!

I had to stay there until dinner was finished and then when I was allowed down, I had to sit on OTL's lap or on the top of the arm chair where he was sitting, all evening!

I still kept a watch on Lucy and gave her the old 'Hairy Eyeball' whenever she came close!

 Next morning OTL was up early 'cos he had a customer coming to visit to pick up some stuff and it made a change not to go out to deliver it! Trouble was, the customer spent too much time adding stuff to the order, OTL calls it 'Selling The Extras'!

We went down The Sea Wall and although the Snow Fairy hadn't arrived, the cold wind certainly had, it was horrid!

We were keeping as close to the wall or the grass to keep out of the wind, even Holly was feeling the cold!

We had just turned for home when who should come charging down the hill? It was Barney! He had his mates with him as well, Archie and Charlie. We had a run and a chase but we were really interested in getting back to the car!

Archie and Charlie made a fuss of OTL, as normal, an' we all went for a run about to try to get warm!

Like the coat? It lights up at night!

Back home we had our brush and some Lambs Heart then we each found a soft spot for a snooze.

Snowflake got her rope bridge put up in Snowy Heights and had a kick about with her ball that went Tinkle Tinkle when OTL rolled it along the ground!

We told Snowflake all about Lucy and she said that the way to beat her is to play the cute card. 

Then she showed us how she does 'Cute', she said that there was no way she could be beaten on 'Cute'.

Mind you she said, just when they think it's all OK, I give them a bite on the butt, that normally sorts the rabbits out anyway!

Midday arrived and OTL had a spot of lunch before taking us out for our run. It still wasn't snowing, I mean, everywhere else was ten feet deep in snow and what do we have? Frost!

It just isn't fair!

The wind was blowing a bit harder and it was not nice down on the Sea Front. Holly said that she had a wee and when she turned around to check it out all she saw was an icicle!

I think she might have been exaggerating a bit but I know what she means!

We had a race along The Sea Wall to help warm us up but even after a race we both felt cold, so, back to the car and turn on the heaters!

When we got back home there were some very small bits of white stuff falling but you couldn't really call it snow, more like a cold sparrow with dandruff!

If it carries on like this I reckon the Snow Fairy will miss us all together!

No snow, no nibbles, cold wind and no Snow Fairy!
