Back to Work!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles here and ain't it good to be back to work again! I mean, these long holidays get a bit boring in the end!

We were up good and early this morning, well, Holly was, she did her 'I wanna get on the bed' woof which really means 'Come and lift me up 'cos it's too dark for me to see where I'm going to land!'

So Old Two Legs lifted her up and put her on the bed, trouble was, I was sleeping there and she landed on top of me! That's when the Grumbling started!

Once we got that sorted OTL had a look at the time, three thirty!

Ooooops!

Of course, that means OTL doesn't go back to sleep and ends up doing his paddling the Mary Celeste around the office and waking the ferrets up!

We had a good walk along the Sea Wall, even though it was earlier than we would have wished for!

Never mind, the sniffs were all good and there was even a Light Show to please OTL as well!

The Light Show!
We met up with a new woofer, he was a bit unruly, but being just three months old we didn't mind too much.

I had to give him a warning grumble when he stuck his nose under my tail without asking permission!
I don't know my name, I keep forgetting!
Our lunchtime stroll was a bit boring really, no doggies to chat to, the tide was almost in, so no birds to woof at, except the one that flew overhead squawking that 'We're all going to Drown in the Flood'!

Soppy Seagull, we are nearly over the flood here in North Kent!

Holly reckons that he is a bit bonkers 'cos it has lost a leg. That was confirmed when he said his name was Long John Silver II!

Long John Silver II
Back home to Doggy Scoff! You can tell Christmas is over, it looks like we're on short rations until Easter!

As we expected, OTL has been playing with bits of paper and messing about on the computer, you can tell everyone is back at work today!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

A Doggy Day!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles here again!

We saw some sun this morning, not much but there was blue sky as well, for a short period!

Strange Clouds!

We had never noticed those sort of clouds before but that is because us doggies mostly go around with our noses sniffing the ground!

We had some fun when we met up with some of the lads and of course, Holly decided that we could have a 'Committee Meeting' to discuss the local sniffs!

Order, Order, Order!

We were walking along the Sea Wall and Shep, (Wot a Name for a Sheep Dog!) his owner threw the 'Ball on a Rope' but missed the Sea Wall and sent it into the mud! Of course, Shep went charging after it and came back with a super set of 'Boots!'

Yay! Girls! Look at me Boots!
Now we thought we owned the only dopey two legs but when we looked over the Sea Wall, there, crouched down behind a camera was another camera totting two legs trying to get the 'Perfect shot', no chance!

Another Bozo with a Camera!
As we were laughing about Shep's Boots there was a yapping behind us and when we turned around, there was 'Puddles', all of six months old and full of  Yap!

When I grow up I'm going to be Fierce!
Back home the rest of the day was spent snoozing and Holly decided that the best place was under Old Two Leg's desk with me 'cos it was nice and warm!

Snoozing with Sis!
Now, Holly has been keeping a eye on the Rat Trap and so far has not seen Ratty again. We reckon that Ratty was thinking about setting up home but the fact that Holly and me are always charging around the shed has scared off Ratty and he has decided to make his home in another garden!

OTL says he is going to keep the trap baited and see what happens over the next month, he may catch a mouse or a marauding worm!

See you tomorrow Woofers!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

The Mary Celeste is Refloated and Sails Again!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are, back again!

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Last night we all followed Old Two Legs up to the office where he was disassembling the Rowing Machine. The rope that was attached to the handle had snapped where it joins the handle and OTL had fallen off the back, much to all our amusement!

Well, OTL, being an 'Old Engineer' he said he could fix it with the aid of a screw driver, adjustable spanner and a big hammer!

True to his word, the machine was reduced to bits and the rope re-threaded through the pulleys and guides and re attached to the handle using one of OTL's special knots!

Before long it was put back together and OTL was showing off by doing a few stroke with Mr Brambles on his lap!

This morning he was up before it got light and thrashing away on the Rowing Machine! Snowflake says that we should rename the Rowing Machine and call it 'The Mary Celeste'!

Holly said it should be called 'The Titanic' 'cos the way OTL rows it is bound to sink again!

Our morning walk was horrid! It was raining and wet and windy! Of course, Holly objected and was dragging her paws all the way around!

Can we go home yet?
After breakfast we went back up to the office to watch OTL clean the ferrets house. Mr Brambles had been having great fun digging in the wooden pellets that OTL put in the Poo Tray. The bottom floor of Snowy Towers was covered with pellets and of course, where Mr B had been kicking the water bowl around, all the water had sloshed about and the pellets had soaked up all the water!

It was a bit messy!

It took OTL some time and both Snowflake and Mr Brambles escaped from Snowy Towers and had great fun charging about the office kicking the boxes and other stuff all over the floor as fast as OTL was clearing it up!

Mr Brambles says it's a 'Ferret Thing'!

Lunch time we went out just before High Tide and today it is a Spring Tide, we could tell that because the water was rather high up the beach and at times it completely covered the beach!

Spring tide!
We reckon on a day like this the only ones who are enjoying themselves is the birds!

High Speed Oyster Catchers

Now, with all this stormy weather and reports of Two Legs getting washed out to sea and drown you would have thought that messing about dodging the surf would not be the best game to play on the beach.

There are some real twerps about!

Twerpy Two Legs

We met up with Bonnie going out for a walk and we joked about going in for a swim, in a puddle!

I'm daft but not that Daft!
Back home we crashed out, as only we know how, and Holly spent the afternoon relaxing in OTL's chair!

This is the life!
So, Monday comes and the world should be back to work again, including OTL, so we're making the most of the last couple of days!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles

OTL Has Sunk The Rowing Machine!

Hello Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles!

We have had some fun today, first of all Old Two Legs was woken up early this morning by some Quadraphonic Snoring! The Missus and Holly and Me were all laying on our backs, mouths open and giving some stick! Poor OTL just couldn't get back to sleep, mind you it was his own snoring that woke him up! In the end he got up and crept off to the Office with plans to spend some time rowing around in circles and waking the ferrets up!

No such luck, the ferrets were awake and scampering around Snowy Heights having an early breakfast!

So, he sat down on the machine, strapped his feet into the foot rests, took a deep breath and started to row. In, Out, In, Out, In Out, In, Out, In, Out, In Out, In, Out, In, Out, In Out, PING, Whoa! Thud! OUCH!

OTL had fallen off the back of the machine holding the handle that was supposed to be attached to the rope that he pulled on the make it all work!

OTL was not a Happy Puppy! He now has to take it all to bits to make repairs before he can get going again!

Of course, being up so early means we got out for our run early as well!

The Infrared Camera Whatsit Thingy was the first camera he put his hand on and decided to try some 'Early Morning' photo's.

The Path from the Car Park.
It looks dead strange in Infrared! Holly is looking forward to the snow 'cos she says that the snow should look black!

I don't think so!

Would Frost look black?
Once we got onto the beach OTL took a picture of us and our brown rain coats come out looking blue! Mind you, the sky which should have a blue tinge to it looked brown!

Blue?
The sand on the beach, which is a sort of brown looking stuff looked brown when it should have looked blue!

Brown Sand that should have come out Blue!
Now all this is confusing OTL like mad!

What with all that rain last night the ground was getting really soggy and on the way out to the beach it was all Quaggy everywhere so OTL came back on the concrete path!

It's just Too Quaggy on the way out!
One good thing about the path was, No Puddles and Holly stood next to OTL and she reckons the picture should be called 'Holly & Old Two Legs'!

'Holly & Old Two Legs'
All along the path there were patches of Lichen with a yellow colour but when we used Infrared on it the colour changed but the yellow Bug turned Pink!

Spot the Pink Bug!
OTL thought that possibly there were good pictures that he could convert to Black and White!

Sand Waves!
Holly spotted a pyramid on the beach and asked if it was called The Grain Pyramid?

The Grain Pyramid!
TM got a Happy New Year Present in the post this morning from Archie's Mum, a super 2014 Calendar, with three Fairy's on it and flower thingy's around the edge!

TM has hung in in her craft room and taken down the calendar that OTL gave her saying she never liked pictures of coaxial cable!

At lunch time, the wind got up and when we went down to the beach wearing our Waggles Jackets, which was a good thing 'cos it kept us good and warm!

Holly says that OTL would look good in a Waggles Jacket!

Mind you, we do look rather smart when we are all dressed up.

Looking Good Miss Holly!
You know what, when we went along the Sea Wall there were some Two Legs who were thinking of going for a paddle in the water but the doggy with them said that if they wanted a swim, they are on their own!

What Part of 'No' don't you understand!
It wasn't too long before there was a yapping around the corner that signalled to arrival of Max and Oscar! Of course, as soon as they saw him they were all over OTL like a rash!

Yo OTL!
Back home we crashed out for the afternoon listening to TM and Auntie Shela playing with the glue pot and a box of glitter!

Not sure what is for dinner tonight but it's just got to be better than the Doggy Scoff we got served with this morning!

Now, we want to know how Archie Mate got on at the vets. He went in for some blood tests and was expecting to get loads of cuddles and nibbles all day long! Lucky lad, it's got to be better than Doggy Scoff!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Is That The Sun?

Hi Ho Woofers!

We're back again, Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles!

Old Two Legs was up early, waking up the ferrets with his rowing machine and after saying 'Good Morning' they went back to bed.

So that left us to enjoy a morning walk along the Sea Wall. The sun was above the horizon and it was only OTL playing with the camera controls that makes it look an hour or two earlier!

Morning!
One of the good things is that we could have a good run around on the beach without worrying about loosing a ferret or two!

Holly and I dug some holes and chased each other around OTL who was trying to take some 'Action' pictures!

OK, Can we run now?
Silly OTL tried to get us to run together and then run to him or run away, none of which we took any notice of and did our 'Own Thing' and had a super time!

Catch Ya!
OTL gave up in the end and went off looking for something to photograph that didn't move!

First of all was Mr Corvid who was watching us having a run along the beach!

Mornin' Girls!
Then he found the ideal subject, a solid, non moving, colourful subject with an interesting pattern!

Concrete!
We had a good laugh about that, poor old OTL, reduced to taking pictures of rocks and pebbles!

Next we suggested he try photographing sand or better still,

Mud!

Patterns in the Mud!
We headed back to the car and Holly mentioned that she thought it was taking too long for the elastic to stretch on our new coats, maybe we should get them washed a bit more often 'cos The Missus has a knack of stretching or shrinking OTL's clothes, so we have a fifty percent chance of having the elastic go in the right direction!

Still tight!
In the afternoon we had Auntie Zoe and Paul and Finley and Megan and Ethan visit which was great fun except that when they 'Stroked' us, they grabbed our hair which made both Holly and me rather 'Grumbly' so OTL told us to have a snooze on the bed so we wouldn't get stroked!

Sneaky that OTL!

Then OTL had to get the ferrets out so they could be stroked and given some Ferretone, which if your a ferret you don't mind being stroked as long as the Ferretone keeps pouring!

So we had a good time and of course, the sun was shining as well. I'm not  sure what the weather is going to be tomorrow but we hear there are flood and wind warnings!

I think we will stay in bed until Spring arrives!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles

Yuk! Yuk! Yuk!

Hi Woofers!

Us again! Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles!

Wow! What a night, there we were all getting ready for the 'Magic Hour', Old Two Legs was doing damage to his bottle of Finest Single Malt, The Missus was slurping away on her bottle of Champagne, Holly and I were well into the 'Nibbles Tray' and the Ferrets were stuffing their faces with Ferret Nibbles!

About nine thirty some Dozy Bozo Two Legs started letting off some very loud Whizz Bangs!

Of course, that set Holly off and pretty soon she was quivering and shaking and pacing up and down, not able to settle at all!

Well, we know what to expect now and by ten we were in bed cuddling up to TM while OTL had his 'Good Night Cuddle' with the ferrets before coming to bed.

So, there we all were just like the Babes in The Wood, all cuddled up with our heads under the duvet!

This morning all the Whizz Bangs had gone and OTL was up early, for the first time since he went down with the cold!

Next thing we heard was the Rowing Machine being worked by OTL. Looks like he is back on the Keep Fit and Loose Weight plan, this will be fun, especially after all the chocolate he has been stuffing down his throat over Christmas!

The ferrets woke up and saw what he was doing, both raised their eyes to the ceiling and went back to bed!

That all means we were up early and out down to the Sea Wall. Before we left home OTL said it was windy and a bit of rain in the air so he said we could wear our new coats!

Us in our Waggle Coats, looking dead cool!
They were very warm and covered our chest as well so the wet grass landed on our coats instead of soaking our fur!

We met up with Max and Oscar who were seriously impressed and said we both looked wonderful!

You two look Good!
You know what? Even Max and Oscars owner stopped and gave us a stroke and said how smart we looked! Holly said that we must be the best looking dogs on the Sea Wall!

Just look at us getting all the attention!
The ferrets had stayed at home 'cos it's too wet out on the beach so we could have a run around and that threw up a bit of hitch with our coats!

The elastic is a bit tight under the legs innit?
When we got back home we stayed down stairs for a woof at the birds while OTL went up stairs to do some work on the computer. The ferrets woke up and demanded they were let out of the cage for another run around the office! In the end they were whacked out and fell asleep on my sleeping cushion!

Cheeky Ferrets!

Shall we keep this bed?
The rest of the day was horrid, it was wet and windy and not very nice. Our lunchtime walk was delayed 'cos we thought it may stop raining but in the end Holly and I couldn't hang on any longer, so, OTL took us over the field behind the houses and we did a quick wee then legged it back home as fast as we could!

So, here we are all snug and warm and ready for a snooze before dinner! Not sure what is happening tomorrow, it all depends on the rain, if it keeps raining then we will stay tucked up at home!

We must say a big thanks for all the emails and comments about our little blog and we are ticked all the way through to our tail tips that you all enjoy reading about our world!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles

New Years Eve!

Hi Woofers!

It's us back again, Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Well, it looks like Ratty is indeed 'Neophobic', we woke up this morning and the the trap was still wide open. No rat, mouse or even a Holly Dog inside! We are still keeping a close eye on it and as soon as the door is shut then we will be down there!

We left the ferrets snoozing in their bed 'cos it was looking like rain and Old Two Legs says that ferrets don't do rain.

Oh yeah? Well there's two little woofers here that subscribe to that theory as well!

OTL was in such a big rush to get us out that when he picked up the camera with the Infrared Thingy Wotsit so this is wot happened down on the Sea Wall!

First Holly and I checked out the sniffs and I found a sign that the rabbits were out again.

Rabbit Wee!
Rabbit Wee? Spring is coming!
While Holly and I were 'Sniffin' the Sniffs' OTL started to take some pictures and when he looked at the preview screen he was heard to be grumbling 'cos he suddenly realised it was Infrared!

So, the clouds that looked interesting in colour were transformed!

Infrared Sea Scape!
He even tried a shot of a Sea Gull wot was standing on the breakwater and later changed it to a Black & White picture!

Got and Sandwiches?
Holly was laughing when the Sea Gull asked her for some sandwiches, silly gull, as if Holly would have any sandwiches in her pocket!

A bit further along the Sea Wall we saw a 'Scruff bag' sort of woofer coming in our direction, so Holly and I ran up to her woofing our 'Hello' woof. She got all worried and ran off to her master who was chatting to OTL about the state of the tide.

Loud Woofers!
She was a little nervous 'cos we were two and she was only one! So we left her to say hello to OTL but even though we walked off she didn't want to get close to OTL, maybe 'cos OTL had our sniff on him!

Off we went again and discovered some more rabbit sniffs up near the Poo Bin but OTL was still playing with the camera.

Come on OTL, home for some breakfast!
When we got back to the car, our legs and tummy's were all wet and muddy 'cos we had been running in and out of the puddles!

OTL gave us both a rub down with the towel when we got into the car. Just as a woofer went past the car.

So, close your eyes and picture this, OTL holding both of my back legs and trying to dry them while I'm woofin' my head off and straining to get out the side window!

Wot Fun!

Back home to a chicken breakfast and followed by a snooze under OTL's desk!

The ferrets were awake and stuffing their faces with Ferret Nuggets and of course after that they also went to sleep!

Professional Snoozing!
Those ferrets are real 'Professional Snoozers'!

Lunchtime OTL still hadn't heard from the Tree Man and was thinking of chopping the tree down himself but after looking at it again decided to wait until everyone was back at work and do some more telephoning!

It was still horrid looking out side and OTL grabbed his camera, the right one this time, and off we went for another rampage around the Sea Wall!

Well, that was the idea but when we got out of the car it was dark and wet and HORRID!

We tried our 'Nose Down Tail Up' stance but OTL just clipped our leads on and guided us further along the path!

Then he tried to take a photo and you know what? That little 'Point & Shoot' camera kept on putting the flash head up 'cos it was too dark!

Look! My reflective strip lights up with the flash!
Mind you, I reckon we could stitch this reflective stuff on our coats, just where our skeleton bones are and we could scare everyone into believing we are scary woofers!

Mine lights up as well!
We plan to have our dinner at the normal time but this evening we will be staying up with TM and her bottle of champagne and OTL and his whisky to say Happy New Year to each other!

So, in case we don't see you before midnight goes 'Bong' all of us here wish all you Woofers out there a very big

Happy New Year!!!!!!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake, Mr Brambles

An Arboreal Adventure That Didn't Happen and The Rat Man Cometh!

Hi Woofers!

It's us, Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles!

What a day! It started of with Old Two Legs getting up early, well, normal time really but he has been lazy for the last week or two 'cos of his 'Cold'! We took a look outside and could see that the rain was just starting, you see we could see the drops of rain being blown past the street lamp that was still shining 'cos it was still dark outside!

With that knowledge, OTL decided that the ferrets could stay in bed and get their exercise by running around the office!

We just love a late snooze!
So, after donning our rain coats we were off to the Sea Wall. his time we went on our 'Doggy Route' which is a bit longer than the 'Ferret Route' and doesn't include the beach!

It started off with the wind blowing us along the path, from behind, then as we turned the corner it was blowing our whiskers back into our faces!

OTL had brought the big camera with him this morning, so he was playing about trying to photograph the lights on Sheerness Docks!

The Lights of Sheerness Docks!
We didn't hang about too much 'cos the wind was blowing the rain onto us and there's one thing we don't like and that is High Speed Rain!

Back home we helped tidy the ferret house and sorted out our beds. Then there was a ring on the door bell. Well, being 'First Class Guard Dogs' we flew down stairs Woofin' and Howling and Snarling in our best Guard Dog Mode!

It was Richard, the Postman and he had brought a couple of parcels. The first was some card making stuff for The Missus, so she should be happy for the rest of the day!

The other parcel was the Big Cheese Rat Trap! Exciting stuff!

OTL opened the box up and pulled the contraption out. It was all metal and galvanised, so it shouldn't rust out in the rain, and it is 'Non Lethal' which means the rat is trapped alive. We had seen some mouse traps that use a big spring to whack the mouse, which is very quick but not in line with OTL's outlook on life, you know we reckon OTL must have been a Buddhist in a previous existence!

What to bait it with? We had a big discussion about this and in the end decided to experiment with stuff a rat might like. There is cheese and peanut butter and bread and jam and cake and biscuits and cereal and doggy scoff and maybe Ferret Kibble?

Decisions, decisions! In the end we thought we would appeal to the rats sweet tooth and put a bit of Christmas Cake in the trap complete with marzipan and icing. Then OTL placed it at the entrance to the gap between the fence and the shed where we first saw the rat, just so he couldn't miss his Christmas Present!

Ratty's Christmas Present!
Now we sit back and keep an eye on the trap door, if it's up, no rat, but if it's down, well rat, mouse, bird, Holly Dog, Snake or Hedgehog!

Take your pick!

We were expecting the Tree Surgeon to arrive at 09:30hr but that time came and went, OTL said he might have been called out on an emergency, what with all this wind we had today there is bound to be trees falling over! So, OTL left a message on the answering machine saying 'Where the Devil are You?' or summat like that!

Lunch was a little late 'cos Holly and I were finishing off our Rawhide Chews that we got for Christmas. We never get colds because we chew Chews! Maybe that's what Michael needs, Rawhide Chews, that will clear up his sniffles!

Down on the Sea Wall it was still as windy as this morning but the tide was right out. All the water left on the mud was reflecting the clouds in the sky, OTL started playing about with the camera controls, again!

A Long Shot?
I got a bit bored with him messing about with the camera settings and indulged in a bit of practise Line Dancing, Holly decided to investigate some sniffs in the long grass and left me to practise on my own. Even OTL wasn't interested in doing any line dancing along the Sea Wall!

The Lone Line Dancer!
OTL tried a horizontal shot of the clouds. That is, he turned the camera around to horizontal instead of him falling over and becoming horizontal himself!

A Horizontal View!
Back home we went up to tell the ferrets about our walk but you know what? They were still asleep!

Those ferrets sure know how to sleep!

So after our afternoon snooze we will be hunting out OTL's dinner and see if it's worth mugging!

See you all tomorrow and who knows we might get the Arboriculturalist to call!

Bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles.
