Brambles Birthday Today!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here.

Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday Bro Brambles,
Happy Birthday to You!

Brambles is around 6-7 years old this year and he came to live with us two years ago today!

So, we decided that the 17th July is his birthday!

He got loads of treats, his Malt Paste Ferret Bits of which he made a bit of a pig of himself!

Then he got to have first dip into the Doggy Biscuits, which he just loves!

And of course, he got first licks of the Ferretone and a cuddle with Old Two Legs!

I Love Cuddles!
Then he gets and extra 'Birthday' slurp of Ferretone, after which he rolls onto his back and stretches out on OTL's lap and licks his chops while OTL tickles his tummy!

Oh! This is Fun!
Down on the beach, the lads all stopped and sang 'Happy Birthday' to Brambles!

'Happy Birthday Toooooooo Yoooooo!'
On the beach we thought we had come across a Big Monster, so Holly and I went off to woof it away from the ferrets.

Snowflake stayed behind her favourite rock and watched us do 'The Business'!

Just look at those Brave Woofers!
As we got closer to The Monster we saw it was three balloons tied together and the wind was blowing the balloons along the beach towards us!

Well, it looked like a Monster!
Bro Brambles said we were 'Brave Woofers' for going off to sort out the 'Monster', even if they were nothing but gas!

Bramble found his rock that Holly tried to bury yesterday and he had fun digging out again!

Up you come my beauty!
Now, we had sort of arranged for a 'Meeting' between Brambles, Snowflake and Miss April and Miss May.

We were about to set off when we got a phone call to say that April and May had come into season and a meeting would not be a 'True' meeting.

OTL said that if we put Brambles in the cage with them he would get the best Birthday Present ever! Miss Snowflake would possibly get the brush off!

So, after talking for a while it was agreed that the ferrets would be sent off to the vet to be 'Done', like wot Snowflake and Holly and I have been!

It will stop any problems in the future!

So, into the vets next week and then a two or three week recovery period and then it will be visiting time, around mid August!

OTL has ordered up the bits to put another level onto Snowy Heights to make it into a three level tower!

The top floor will be a sort of 'Games Room' and a 'Bolt Hole' for any ferret who wants some peace and quiet!

So, that's it for now, The Missus is out all weekend doing crops and Master Classes and we will have fun with OTL!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

New Ferrets got names!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles back again!

Well, we have been busy little woofers today, rushing about helping Old Two Legs do his 'Manufacturing' and then out to deliver it all!

We started off on the beach having some fun with sniffs.

The ferrets had wandered up the beach and were investigating some dried sea weed which Brambles loves to rub on his tummy and help tone up his skin.

Holly and I began by sniffing the wet sea weed and around the rock pools. Holly says she found traces of 'Slimy Monsters' and I found traces of ferret poo!

Well it sniffs like ferret poo to me!
Holly wanted to play a trick on Bro Brambles 'cos he makes her call him Bro!'

Holly started off by pretending to 'Guard' Brambles Wee'ing Rocks. Then, after Brambles had gone after the dry sea weed she came up with a rather naughty trick!

Yep! I'll guard your rocks Bro!
Then, while Bro Brambles was busy, Holly says to me, 'OK, dig a big hole next to the rock'

Holly's idea was to bury the rock so that Brambles would think that a 'Slimy Monster' had pinched it!

OK, dig it deep while he's not looking!
Brambles was keeping his eye on Holly and wasn't fooled by her trick!

Back home we had a message from the Ferret Rescue Centre to say we should bring Brambles and Snowflake down to meet the new ferrets on Friday, so OTL has to make arrangements on Friday morning.

We also have found out their names and ages.

They are two years old and are called Miss April and Miss May!

Now, I don't know about you but OTL says that Miss April and Miss May sounds like a couple of Page Three Pullouts!

We, of course, have no idea what he is talking about but we are all getting excited about meeting them for the first time!

So, more news tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Oh Dear! It's St Swithins Day!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here!

Now, did you know it is St Swithins Day today?

Well, you do now!

So the 'Lore' goes, if it rains on St Swithins Day then you will get rain for forty days and forty nights!

We are OK, it didn't rain at all down here but we are sure that there were some showers splashing about the UK today!

If you got rained on then I'd get out your brolly and don't put it down until the end of August!

We were lucky, no rain!

Old Two Legs over slept this morning, so that means we were all late in getting to the beach for our morning stroll.

Even the ferrets were asleep again by the time we got down there!

Are we there yet?
The tide was out so there was no swimming this morning but we did spot a Goats Beard in flower, the only one around, OTL reckons it could be the last one on our beach!

The last flower this year?
We were all a bit slow except Holly Dog who was calling out ' Come on Bro, get you Butt in Gear'

Yeah, I said Bro!
Brambles was dead chuffed she called him Bro, but wasn't too happy about her talking about his butt!

Back home to some snoozing and around lunchtime OTL called us to go out again. First it was delivering, then it was down to the school to do some adjustments on the radios and the off to the beach for a swim!

The tide was right is and of course I was in and swimming before those two had even got to the beach!

I Just LOVE a Cool Swim!
It was just super splashing about and fetching a small stick. Holly stayed on the Sea Wall and refused to come down to the water.

She said that St Swithins applied to getting wet from swimming as well as being rained on!

Dopey Dog will be wet for forty days now!
I think she made that up and anyway, the sun was drying me off a treat!

Who's wet? Not Me!
While we were out, OTL got a telephone call from our burglar alarm system saying that there was a fire at our house.

He called back to The Missus to check everything was OK and asked her if she was doing any cooking?

TM confirmed that there was no fire and warned him of Impending Doom if he made any more comments about her cooking!

That's telling him!

I'm off to see if there is anything we can mug!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

A Muggy Day but OTL finds the Soldier Beetles!

Yo Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here again!

Wot a Muggy Day it has been. We got up late because The Missus over slept. She blamed us because were 'Fidgeting' and kept her awake!

Us? Fidget? Never!

It was all her fault, talking in her sleep, bouncing up and down on the bed and calling out 'It's Behind You!'

Gawd knows what the dream was about, nothing to do with 'Crafting' I'm sure!

Of course, all that noise kept the ferrets awake as well, so they were late getting up as well!

Today they had their normal Lactose Free Milk and slurped it down as though they hadn't had it for years!

You see, TM forgot to get the milk when she did the shopping and Old Two Legs had to get some Soya Milk from the Co-op 'cos they had run out of Lactose Free Milk.

The ferrets were not happy, neither of them drank it, in fact, Mr Brambles kicked both bowls of Soya milk across the office and stomped off in disgust!

Today OTL had got their proper milk, so he was in their 'Good Book' today!

Down on the beach Bro Brambles found his favourite rock again 'cos the tide had gone out!

Long time no see!
Miss Snowflake got out of the ferret bag and had a sniff and a wee but managed to creep back into the ferret bag while OTL wasn't looking, but she got in the wrong pocket and left her tail hanging out!

A right give away!

Can't see Me!
Back home it was Chicken, fresh out of the oven, just how we like it!

Then off for a snooze while OTL went out delivering.

Come lunchtime we were back down the beach and this time OTL was looking for insects on the plants.

First he found a Buff Tailed Bumblebee buzzing around the flowers.

Just Too Buzzy To Stop For A Chat!
Next we found a Solitary Bee that OTL thinks is a Colletes Halophilus, well that's what he thinks but to be honest, I wouldn't put any money on it!

A Colletes Halophilus?
Next he found a new crop of Soldier Beetles in a place where he had never found them in the past!

Now, you will be interested to know that they spend almost all of their time in the ground, except at mating time, and that is the only time OTL ever sees them.

And you can guess what they are doing!

It's Spring Time!
Holly and I were more interested in sniffs and we found one on a plant that was in the middle of the path, all on it's own, with nothing around it!

My! But was it an interesting sniff!

Now That is an Interesting Sniff!
Back home for more nibbles and a cuddle with OTL on the sofa 'cos he has decided to finish early and do some reading on ferrets. I wonder why!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles

Racing Snails!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here!

It has been damp and soggy today, not a day for catching a few rays!

We were out first thing and it hasn't stopped raining for most of the day. Not a heavy rain but a steady trickle that gets you all damp around the tail!

We headed towards the beach and came across the rubbish bin where there was a couple of snails skidding around on top doing wheelies and hand brake turns!

Stirling Snail doing a Hand Brake Turn!
His mate Martin Schumacher, was busy doing wheelies around the notice someone had scribbled on top of the bin!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
It was amazing just how fast they can go once they got going!

We headed down to the beach and Snowflake was straight out onto the rocks to have her morning wee!

Mine! All Mine!
You could tell the ferrets were in a good mood, I got chased up the beach by them both and Brambles even had a go at chasing Old Two Legs up the grass path!!

Ferret, Hunting Dog!
We headed back home and found that we had Doggy Scoff in our bowls, not the best nosh but it's OK if you are really hungry!

We weren't!

OTL has been busy today, working on the computer and getting rid of a big big pile paper that has grown on his desk!

We've been snoozing and sniffing at the Doggy Scoff and trying to look like we were starving!

Not sure what OTL has got for dinner tonight but if we are lucky, we may just get a nibble!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles

We let OTL out on his own!

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Not so hot today and there was a rain forecast so we were up early to get down to the beach before it got too wet!

Miss Snowflake was out on the Sea Weed having a sniff and a wee before heading back to the beach.

Just Sniff the Muddy Sea Weed!
Of course, back on the beach, Snowflake decided that what she really wanted was a carry until we got to the grass path!

Come on, just a little carry?
So, Miss Snowflake got picked up while we waited for Mr Brambles to have some fun playing with some dried sea weed.

I just Love a good Exfoliate!
Snowflake said Brambles was a 'Total Embarrassment' !

I just can't take you anywhere!
Back home we had some lambs heart waiting and after Old Two Legs had cleaned out the ferret cage we said Bye Bye to him 'cos we had agreed that he could go and do some photography on his own.

We have had a look at the pictures and we think they tell their own tale!

Where did he go first?

The Ferret Stand!

Ferret Racing to raise some funds!
In the tent there were owners ready tell everyone about their ferrets and even let you handle them!

First Ferret Stroke!
The racing was fun and was enjoyed by the crowd and the ferret!

Am I first?
Of course, there is always one winner and it was the owners who seemed to more excited than the ferrets!

We Won!
There were several races, singles and double ferrets down the same tube and even 'Reverse Track' which was also great fun!

That was Fun!
The winners were put back in the cages to allow others a chance of winning, and of course, the owner had a bigger grin on their face than the ferret!

We Won! We Won!
Then the ferret got shown to the crowd and even got some strokes as a reward!

Another first stroke!
Roy was happy talking 'Ferret' to all who came into the tent!

............and of course, plenty of water!
The ferrets seemed to really enjoy being picked up and having their tummy tickled!

It's a hard life being cuddled!
OTL also had words about the two year old Jills that were up for adoption and on Friday OTL spent a long time 'Chatting' to them!

We think that OTL has fallen for them and subject to satisfactory introductions, we look like having to enlarging the ferret house, 'Snowy Towers' to a three level establishment!

More news when it comes!

OTL then went off to see what he could see, and photograph.

The Galloper's round a bout was all pretty with the lights on and if it was a bit darker he could have had some fun with blurring the lights!

But it wasn't, so he didn't!

Whizzing!
Then OTL spotted a water bowl that he said had been set out, just for us!

Designed for Woofers!
Old Two Legs risked all and headed into the Horticultural Tent to photograph flowers and Bonsai trees!

Now this one was good, like, can you see the Dragon?

Can you see it now?
We just loved the side shows and OTL found one where there were a couple dancing to music that had words to it about there being 'Nobody here but us Chickens!'

Get out your Chickens!

So, that was it, back home to get ready for Monday and enjoy a last slurp of Single Malt with a nibble of Shortbread.

We of course will help him with the Shortbread!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

A Day with Archie Babe!

Yo Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles and Archie Babe here!

Hasn't it been hot today!

When we got down to the beach first thing I was in for a dip as quick as a flash!

There's nothing like cooling off before breakfast!

I just Love Cool Bits!
Straight after getting the ferrets back and their cage cleaned out we were off up to the village hall to pick Archie Babe up and back down to the beach again!

Now, I don't know why, but I thought that Archie loved water and getting wet and swimming, but it seems I was wrong, he is as excited about water as Holly is!

I don't do wet!
He wandered down to the waters edge and stopped! He just about got his paws wet and that was it, a quick retreat up the beach to where a crab was catching some rays!

I love getting a good tan!
No matter what I said, he wouldn't go in any further than his claws!

This is getting too deep for me!
I stopped trying to get him in for a swim and carried on playing 'Fetch The Bone' with Old Two Legs who had brought the rubber bone with him!

Nearly there!
I headed back to shore to find a big Husky type of woofer who was standing in the water, shaking!

'Hi!' I called over to him and asked if he wants to play 'Fetch The Bone' with me.

'No blooming fear' he says, 'I'm not going in any further, I hate the water!'

No further for e!
It seems he has to go in to where his paws are covered with water, just to please his owner who reckons that all Husky Types should love water!

I reckon that Husky would love it further up the beach!
Back home we all had some chicken and Archie shared ours and the woofed down a bowl of his Dry Biscuits and then pinched a Jumbone Chew!

That woofer sure knows how to eat!

We all enjoyed a snooze and I even let Archie Babe climb up on OTL's lap for a cuddle and a snooze!

A bit later on in the afternoon we headed back to the Sea Wall but the tide had gone out, so no swimming, just a wander along saying 'Hello' to the Two Legs and seeing if they had anything worth mugging!

A Stroke? No Way if there is nothing to eat!
Archie showed us his 'New Freiend' trick to get some food. Trouble was, he didn't check beforehand to see if there was any food to be mugged!

See, he thinks I'm his new mate!
I had to go over and tell Archie that there was no food!

Archie, he's got no food, so, No Strokes!
We went back to sniffing the sniffs and looking for rabbits but it was too hot for them to come out for a game.

You two are dead lucky to have so many sniffs on your walk!
Unfortunately, it was soon time for Archie Babe to head back home 'cos his Missus had finished slapping the glue and glitter around and she wanted to head home. Still, we had a great day and we are looking forward to Archie's next visit!

OTL is off tomorrow on his own to the Kent County Show to take some more pictures of the animals and TL's and maybe a visit to the ferret stand!

I wonder, will he come back with a commitment to see if Brambles and Snowflake get on with the two little Jill's?

I wonder!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.
