Holly gets 'The Treatment' and OTL gets the bill!

Hi! Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Miss April and Miss May here to see you again!

The ceiling was dry after Old Two Legs had his shower this morning and better still, it was still dry after The Missus had finished hers as well!

Claws crossed we may have got it sorted!

This morning it was all rush and tear 'cos Holly Dog is due at the vets at ten thirty. So, of course, we all over slept!

Our morning walk was a 'Quick March' and even Snowflake was a bit put out being asked to 'Get a Move One'!

I am Senior Ferret here and I deserve a bit of respect!
She knew Holly was going to the vet but as she put it, 'You just can't wee on demand!'

In the end she did her stuff then said that if OTL was in such a hurry, he should pick her up and carry her to the car!

and I should be carried to the car park!
OTL said that she needed the exercise and she should shift her tail!

So much for being 'Senior Ferret'!

In the end, OTL got Holly down to the vet and the weighing machine! This machine if great fun 'cos it starts with OTL telling us to get on the thing and sit down. The reason we have to sit is because the numbers go all over the place if we wiggle about. So, what do we do? Yep! Wiggle!

It takes ages to get the correct reading but it is so much fun that I have even seen other woofers doing the 'Wiggle Trick'!

Finally, OTL decided that Holly Dog is 9.8kg, which is better than last time when she was 10.8kg.

Mind you, it could also be 'cos she hasn't had anything to eat over the past two days and has almost poo'ed herself inside out!

The vet did what we expected, first stabbed Holly with a needle after checking her temperature under her tail. Then OTL got a big syringe full of gunk to squirt down Holly's throat twice a day.

So, we expect that things will pick up over the next few days.

Not sure about OTL though, he was crying again as he got out his credit card!

Back home and Holly and I got a bowl of chicken and rice to help settle our tummies!

The Page 3 Girls were awake most of the morning, charging about the house while OTL fitted another four shelves and two ladders to their cage, so they can now rush about all over the place chasing each other, and there is even a plastic tunnel they can and do run through!

It's great fun watching Miss April being chased by May 'cos, being a bit smaller means she can 'Duck & Dive' through all the obstacles quicker than May!

It got to lunch time and OTL wouldn't let them fall asleep 'cos it time for a walk!

They tried every trick in the book to be carried along but OTL said they needed the exercise just as much as Snowflake!

The tide was heading out and I just managed to get  a couple of swims in while chasing a stick!

I can almost touch the bottom!
Miss May misjudged the waves and went of to explore the sea shore when she got caught by the 'Fourth Wave'!

Oh Rat Holes!
Miss April has a lot in common with Holly Dog, both are not too keen on sea water! Like Holly, April loves to stretch out on the sea wall and catch a few rays!

I love a sun bathe!
We met up with Auntie Sheila and her family as they were walking along the sea wall, super sun shine made it an ideal day for a stroll!

Now we have been told by TM that Lucy and Toby, our Mates up North, are getting treatment from the vet and are responding well. Good on yer Woofers! Keep yer tails up! and more to the point, Lucy's mum should keep her tail up as well, droopy tails are not allowed!

See you all tomorrow!

We are expecting Maisey to visit tomorrow, so, we must hide the biscuits!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Miss April and Miss May.

A bit of a Mixed Day today!

Hi! Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Miss April and Miss May here again!

Well, what a day today! There is poor old Hamish with his hair shaved off, I had that when I got 'Done', drafty or wot! The Page 3 Girls had all their stomach shaved when they were 'Done' and they refused to go out in the cold for two weeks!

Keep on with the mugging lad!

Holly has got a Grumbly Tum and Old Two Legs has got her booked into the vet tomorrow morning, she will keep eating stuff that makes her bad!

OTL has had a bit of luck, seems the last bit of sealant he spread over the shower enclosure seems to have done the trick. Well, he let the shower run for some time without water pouring through the ceiling but The Missus won't let him finish the job yet 'cos she wants a few showers without any leaks before he can paint over the patches and holes he made!

Now, what about Archie Babe and his possible tooth problem? Does that mean you will have to have the tooth extracted?

We hope not 'cos that will make your jaw ache for a while!

Funny is it not? Holly is going in with problems at the end and Archie is going in for problems with the beginning!

I'm staying well away 'cos there is nothing wrong with my middle!

Down on the beach this morning there was a gull sitting on one of the rocks when a flock of birds flew past heading for the Essex Marshes.

OTL whipped out the camera and was trying to frame it so he got the gull and the flock positioned just right when Snowflake stuck her cold wet nose up his trouser leg and wiped it on his leg.

That made him jump!

Taken with a ferret up his leg!
From then on, Snowflake kept running up to him shouting Gissa Leg!

Come on, Gissa Leg!
She even tried to hide in the grass so OTL wouldn't see her ambush his leg but even OTL spotted her this time!

Betcha Can't see me!
We had fun chasing each other along the path and we met up with a new woofer who was one of the 'All Mixed Up Mob', a bit like Holly and me!

We all said 'Hello' and had a good sniff but Snowflake hung back 'cos she wasn't too sure if he liked ferrets or not.

OTL said she should try shoving her cold wet nose up his tail and see what happens then! She would soon find out if he liked ferrets!

Nah! This is close enough thanks!
After we got home, Holly headed off to bed and snoozed the morning away until lunch time when OTL woke up the Page 3 Girls for their walk.

Miss April does love her snoozes, especially when she can sneak into the ferret bag and bury herself right down the bottom!

Mind you, she does come up for air every so often and to check just how far she is from the beach where she knows OTL will get her out so she can run all the way back!

This is so comfortable I think I'll stay here until we get home!

OTL had different ideas and before long she was deposited on a whacking big rock that was covered with sea weed!

April was not a happy ferret!

This is cold, wet and a long way down!
In the end she slid all the way down and scampered off back to the car!

I found a hard plastic ball but it was just a little bit too big for my mouth, so, just like OTL, I kicked it about using my paws but I couldn't make it go very far, but it was fun for a while!

Can you get football boots for Woofers?
This afternoon OTL and The Missus headed off to the hospital to get OTL's eyeball checked and after filling it with nasty stingy stuff it was decided to get the operation done, 'in three months' so he will be able to see in time for Christmas!

Trouble was, all this stuff they shoved into his eyes made the pupils all dilated, he looked dead weird with big black holes in the middle of his eyes!

Scary or wot!

Keep yer tail up Archie Babe!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Miss April and Miss May.

It is raining in the lounge, Again!

Hello! Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Miss April and Miss May here again!

And we have all got out life jackets on today!

Old Two Legs attempt to seal everything has failed, we turned on the shower and, SPLOSH, it all came through the ceiling again! OTL is not a Happy Puppy!

So, he has gone back and has spread sealant over places that shouldn't need sealing and we will await for tomorrow to arrive so we can test it again!

For a change, The Missus came out with us this morning, just so she could do some shopping at the local Co-op, but before she could do that she had to come on our morning walk with us!

Now, Miss Snowflake, being a crafty little ferret waited until she got put down on the sand then rushed over to TM and tried to beg a lift saying it was all 'Too Cold and Wet'!

Unfortunately, OTL was standing next to her and reminded her that she had to get her exercise in and on top of that, she hadn't had a wee and a poo yet.

Snowflake that is, not TM!

I'm a poor ferret that needs a lift!
The tide had come right in and was on the way out again but it still covered the rocks, so Snowflake had to wee from the beach but she misjudged it and ended up with a wet butt, again!

Rats! A Wet Butt Again!
I didn't mind about the tide 'cos it was in far enough to have a game of 'Fetch the Stick' and TM was a push over. We even got her to find a stick to throw!

Come On, COME ON! THROW THE WOOFIN' STICK!
TM even had a go at getting Holly Dog in the water to chase the stick, fat chance!

I don't do wet!
Lunchtime came and the water in the lounge had stopped 'cos OTL had turned off the shower and was hunting places to wave the sealant at!

That stuff has a funny sniff to it and what is worse, it takes twenty four hours to dry!

I don't know why they can't just have a splosh in the sea like wot I does!

The tide had gone out by the time May and April got down to the beach and April found a big rock to have a wee on but she still complained that it was too wet and damp!

I can't wee here, it's all just too wet and damp!
Mind you, April was spending most of the walk inside the ferret bag, poking her head out and blowing raspberries at May!

May was not best pleased and was promising all manner of trouble for April when she got back in the bag!

Just wait until I get back in!
Luckily for April, that didn't happen cos' OTL put them both on the ground for another lesson from me in identifying sniffs.

Both of them were dead keen but they will keep chattering when I'm trying to tell them the important stuff!
Hey! You two, stop chattering and listen to what I have to say!
Both said they were very sorry and then paid attention while I explained about Cross Sniff Identification and how they can change over a period of time if they got too hot, the sniif of course, not the ferrets!

This sniff business is so very complicated sometimes!

We hope Izzy and Hamish are getting over their nasty experience and are making the most of their injuries, I mean, just how often do you get to raid the biscuit tin!

Talking of biscuits, I sniff dinner downstairs, so we are of to see what is on the 'Mugging Menu' tonight!

Bye bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Miss April and Miss May.

Instructing The Girls!

Yo! Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Miss April and Miss May here again!

It hasn't been a bad day weather wise, well not down here anyway!

This morning we went out for our normal walk with Snowflake and she insisted on having a cuddle in Old Two Legs arm until we got down to the beach, then she jumped down, scuttled off into the sea weed for a wee and then headed off to the grass for a sniff!

She was in a good mood today and even chased Holly along the top path and making ferret noises that translated into 'I'm coming to get you!'

Not that Holly was bothered 'cos she knew Snowflake was having a game!

Back home OTL was again in the shower trying to find all the places where water could get out and into the ceiling downstairs. The up shot was, no shower this morning and a smelly OTL!

By the time lunch arrived, OTL had filled every hole and gap he could find, except the plug hole!

So, we now have to leave it for twenty four hours before turning on the water and checking the ceiling!

 Claws crossed!

Lunchtime we were out again and May and April were all excited about looking at the sniffs again.

When we got down there, there were some clouds over Essex and we just couldn't decide if they were heading our way or not and if they were rain or thunder clouds. In the end we decided there was no thunder and only a small chance of rain!

It can't really make up its mind!
May was in amongst the sea weed looking for the Big Slimy Monster but as she has never seen it, she was a bit worried about the size, I mean, a small monster you can deal with but a big one is another story!

Are these Monsters Big?
April said she was getting Too Tired to Walk and could OTL give her a lift? We all knew that she just wanted a cuddle and OTL being a big softy, picked her up and she got a cuddle all the way to the sniffing ground!

Go on, Gissa a Lift?
May was all excited and dashed around sniffing at everything and she remembered what I said about leaving some sniff for later! She also pretended to be a Grass Snake but instead called out that she was a Clover Snake!

Look, I'm a Clover Snake!

Once she got over her excitement I gave her instructions on how to follow the sniff along the path and how the rain can make sniffs go all soggy at the edges!

Now, pay attention, this is important!
We were doing very well but we got interrupted by the arrival of a Westie who was more interested in getting a nibble of a ferret!

We soon put him right and made sure he knew that these ferrets were 'Honorary Woofers' and he should keep his nose out of the way or he could end up with a pair of Ferret Fangs in his nose!

Just a little nibble?
Back home OTL sat down to the paperwork again 'cos it is the 'VAT Quarter' and that means he has to pay out money, not one of his favourite jobs!

Now we are off to see what there is to mug tonight, we hope it's not salad again, salad is not Doggy Food!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Miss April and Miss May.

A Ferret in Clover?

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Miss April and Miss May here with you again!

It has been a sort of 'Slow' day today. Old Two Legs has been in the shower scraping away at the old sealant and then getting the masking tape out and sticking that on the shower tray and wall tiles to make the edges all neat and tidy after squirting the sealant into the gap.

Well, that was the general idea but what with his bad back and his one dodgy eyeball, the edge of the masking tape looked like a relief map of the Himalayas!

Not his best job!

But in the end it all got sealed and he says that once he gets his eyeball sorted, he will have another go!

Tomorrow morning is the test time, on goes the shower and OTL will be downstairs looking for leaks!

Down on the beach Miss Snowflake was trying to get a lift across the sand 'cos she says that the sand gets in between her claws!

Go on, have pity on a poor little ferret?
OTL said she needed the exercise and made her walk!

We have noticed that the Boat has been slowly moving down the beach and I reckon that it won't be long before it heads out to sea again!

It says 'Which way is North?'
We left OTL alone for the morning and lunchtime came and went, well, the Page 3 Girls didn't wake up, OTL was still sealing and Holly and I were crashed out on the bed!

It was OTL who first noticed the time and went to see if The Girls were awake.

Miss April was sort of awake, well, in a dozy state! She got her harness on and was followed by Miss May and then they went into the travelling cage ready to head off for a game.

When we got to the car park, it was raining, well sort of spitting type of rain. The sort of rain that doesn't feel like much but ends up making your tail all wet and soggy!

The Girls didn't think much of the wet stuff 'cos they had spent all their time in a cage and had never experienced rain before. They have been out with OTL and got wet tummies from the dew on the grass but not this rain stuff!

To help take their mind off wet tails I told them about a super place us Woofers go to get some serious sniffs!

As you are Sisters, I'll show you a Secret Place!
I lead them to the Clover Patch. Now this spot has all the sniffs you could want, there are rabbit sniffs, and rat sniffs, and fox sniffs, (but not too many of them)! Then there are the mouse sniffs and the shrew sniffs and even some voles and best of all, grass snake sniffs!

OK, gently does it, don't wear out all the sniffs in one go!
Miss April was amazed by what was on offer. I showed her the different sniffs under the clover leaves and she even found a Hedgehog sniff I had missed!

This sniff is all prickly!
Miss May was all over the place, she was following the mouse sniff and came up on a Mole Sniff which is pretty rare around here!

Do we have to do them all?
I told them they should leave the sniffs where they were and that way we can come back tomorrow and enjoy a second round of sniffs!

Back home again and we had some Lambs Heart waiting for us but I just wasn't in the mood for Lambs Heart, so I kept on worrying OTL until he gave us a Doggy Biscuit that was shaped like a bone. Not brilliant but at least I got to leave some crumbs on the pillow for later!

We are off now to see what is muggable tonight, so bye bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Miss April and Miss May.

Sunday and it rained, indoors!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Miss April and Miss May here again!

How can you get rain inside a house? Well Old Two Legs and The Missus can!

This morning we started to get drips of water coming out of the light fitting in the lounge.

Which, is right under the shower!

OTL had to cut short his breakfast with the ferrets and rush down to make temporary repairs!

The rest of the day was spent in the shower digging up all the sealant so he can make a complete seal all around the shower!

Mind you, The Missus had the right idea, she cleared off to Cambridge for a Glue & Glitter Masterclass with The Cat Woman and Archie Babes Mum!

While the ceiling was drying out, we went for our morning walk with OTL and Snowflake.

The mist was still there on the sea, but not so much as yesterday!

Well, at least we can see the water!
Down on the beach we could just see Sheerness and the sun was throwing a strange 'Sunny' colour across the mist!

Yellow or Orange?
There was a Two Legs and his assistant counting the sea birds as part of a study for the local power station. As we went past he was rattling off different birds names and calling out numbers, like, Common Gull, twenty five, Lapwing, six, Oyster Catcher, fifty five. I don't know how he managed to count so many in such a short time!

OTL called out, Two Woofers, One Ferret!

We don't know if they put that on the list but OTL had a good laugh!

Ferrets, Twenty, Woofer, Two!
Miss Snowflake decided to head off to the wee'ing rock but her way was blocked by rock pools, so OTL had to lift her over the first lot of pools so she could hide behind the rocks!

OK, this is too wet for me!
When she had finished, she headed back but had the same problem as she had on the way out, so, she called out to OTL!

OK, I'm finished, Gissa Lift!
Back home we had some Doggy Scoff that TM had left for us. It was a bit Yucky but we were hungry, so we had to eat it!

Lunchtime walk was boring, I mean really boring, you see it's Sunday and on a Sunday there are loads of TL's walking along the Sea Wall and of course, as soon as the see the ferrets it is all Ooooo! and Ahhhhh! and Wot are they?

OTL tells the story and they all get to stroke the ferrets back.

I mean, no one takes any notice of us any more!

Even the ferrets were getting fed up, you could tell that 'cos they both did their best to hide in the grass when they saw any TL's approaching!

Have they gone yet?
Back home OTL was digging and scrapping and complaining about his back. He has managed to get the wall prepared, so tomorrow it is down to B&Q for some sealant!

Of course, after that he has some more decorating lined up, poor lad, he gets caught every time!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Miss April and Miss May.

Saturday fun!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Miss April and Miss May again!

Every so often we get one of those Saturdays when all the jobs are done and everyone is in a restful state of mind and we all enjoy an hour or so having a snooze!

Well, today has been one of them.

We were up early 'cos The Missus was making such a noise getting all her stuff boxed and ready to take up the hall, so, Holly and me cuddled right up to Old Two Legs and helped him stop snoring!

Holly dug her claws into his ribs and I gave him a good licking on his nose!

That always sorts him out!

As normal, OTL went and breakfasted with the ferrets and caught up on the emails. We were expecting TM to go up the Village Hall at seven and then come back with the car at about seven thirty.

Not today!

Because she had sat down to watch a recording she had made on the TV, she was late!

So, up she comes, crashing in on the Ferret Breakfast and demanded we all get our tails in gear and take her up to the hall!

We wonder what her last servant died of, it certainly wasn't kindness!

So, earlier than normal, we were parking the car and heading off to the Sea Wall and the Beach.

There is a large amount of bushes on the way and today the leaves on one plant caught our eyes, the colour was super, so, OTL just had to take a couple of shots and this one we like best of all!

Autumn Fruits!
Mind you, a Weather Warning was in place in our part of the world, 'Thick Mist and Fog', well it wasn't really fog but it was misty!

Weather Warning?
We were getting near to our beach when crashing out of the mist came a big 'Yarroooooooooh! Yo! OTL!'

Then we were set upon by Barney No. 2, a highly excitable Doodle Dog!

Yo OTL!
This is the first time we had seen him off his lead and we were dead impressed he had managed to curb his lust for running off down the Sea Wall!

He ran around us, then went to OTL for a cuddle, then off he went again, running around us and sniffing and the he ran back to OTL for another cuddle!

That was one excited Woofer!

Then, just to show how much he had learnt, he ran over to OTL for a final cuddle and trotted off with his Two Legs, as good as gold!

Back home Holly and I headed for the bed while OTL got the chores done and the ferrets enjoyed a rampage around the house.

First Snowflake and afterwards, Miss May, had to be rescued from on top of the Towers 'cos having got up torment the other, they couldn't get back down again!

Today, because OTL had worked so hard yesterday, all the chores were done by ten thirty, so Holly and I decided to stay on the bed and enjoy catching up on our snoozing while OTL sat down with a cup of tea and watched some Time Team programs on the TV!

Pretty soon it was lunchtime and Holly and I came downstairs to eat our chicken and wake OTL up.

Time Team does that to him you know!

Pretty soon we were up and off for a walk. Just as we got loaded up in the car, TM and Zoe arrived back from the Village Hall, seems TM had forgotten to take a stencil!

We all said hello to Zoe and even the Page 3 Girls were on best behaviour!

No Nibbles!

We had a wander along the beach, May and April enjoyed a sniff along the Breakwater looking for monsters!

Will the Monsters be fierce?
May was ferreting under some sea weed when she reckons she could sniff that Big Slimy Thing but no matter where she looked or dug, she couldn't find it!

The Sniff is So Strong!
May found some sacks that had been filled with sand and left on the beach to sink in, so now only the very tops were showing. May thought it was a great place to stand under if the rain came.

Holly said it was OK for a ferret but too small for any self respecting Woofer!

Who said it was for Woofers?
We came off the beach and had a walk through the grass. Both ferrets love the grass 'cos of all the sniffs there are for both Ferrets and Woofers!

Well, it sniffs like Mouses to me!
The only trouble with running on the beach or in the grass, is, it make a ferrets legs tired and pretty soon Miss April had managed to get back into the bag for a little rest!

No, I'll just watch for a while!
As we got closer to the car she got out and ran the last twenty five metres. It is always fun to watch when OTL calls them and they both come running to be picked up and put in the travel cage, just like Snowflake and Brambles used to do!

Mind you, OTL won't do that to Holly and I 'cos he says we are big enough to jump into the back of the car on our own!

Not sure what is for mugging tonight but we are sure OTL will get the Malt Whisky out, so that means Shortbread!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Miss April and Miss May.

The end of the Good Weather?

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Miss April and Miss May back again!

Well, it had to happen, the Weather Man says, 'There will be a change in the weather' which, if you know the 'double speak' they use, means, WE GOT RAIN COMING!

So, we have been out today soaking up the sun and running around on the beach and generally having a good time!

Miss Snowflake was a bit slow to wake up this morning but once she got her paws onto the sandy beach, she was dashing about all over the rocks and snuffling about under the sea weed!

It's a bit misty here as well!
Old Two Legs pointed out that the high tides had rearranged some of the sea shells so they looked like flower petals!

Sea Shell Flowers?
Snowflake was dancing along the sea shore, Holly said it looked like a 'Sand Dance'!

Dancing on the sand!
After she had finished dancing she headed up to that plant she loves and had a good roll in the leaves.

This is how it's done!
Then we headed off back to the car. We were all looking for sniffs, except OTL, he says he doesn't do sniffs, silly duffer doesn't know what he is missing!

Searching for a sniff!
Back home Holly and I retired to the bed so the ferrets could have a rampage around the house. The Tesco man didn't know, but he had a ferret watching him from the top of the stairs!

OTL has started on the big pile of paper that has sort of grown since we went away on holiday, but he has got it down to a couple of 'Must Read All of This' bits of paper that will have to wait until tomorrow!

Lunchtime it was back to the beach and Holly and I had a super game of 'Chase'. We started off digging a hole, that is one of us dug the hole while the other raced over to OTL, jumped up and shoved him on his shoulder, then ran back to the hole to kick sis out of the way and then she would dash over!

Over to OTL now!
I was having a good dig when May came creeping up and dived into the hole, she scared the Woof out of me!

Boo! Woofer!
That was it, I got shoved out of the way while she had a roll about in My Hole!

This is a Ferret Take Over!
Then she stuck her nose into the sand, just like Holly does and off she went pretending she was a plough!

Farmer May ploughing the beach!
As we turned back towards the car, we passed the boat bit and there were two rusty metal plates on the back. April said that they looked like eyes, almost like a crab!

A Crab Boat?
Back home we all headed for our beds and had a good snooze while OTL finished the paperwork and went off to do some deliveries. So, now we are all clear for the weekend!

The Missus is up the Village Hall with her Glue & Glitter Girls, so that means OTL can get his feet up for an afternoon snooze, if we let him!

See you tomorrow and keep your eyes open for 'Red Skies in The Morning!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Miss April and Miss May.
