Ferret Fun!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss April, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret here!

Well, today has been a day for the ferrets. You see it started this morning before our walk. Little April managed to escape from the office with a piece of chicken in her mouth. Now normally she hides it in the bottom drawer of Old Two Legs filing cabinet but today she just flew into The Missus's store room and disappeared into the boxes on the shelves!

After a while she came back with a silly grin on her face and OTL said he was going to do some 'checking' when we got back!

Down on the beach we were having fun trying to stand still so OTL could get the camera focused, without the use of his glasses, that he doesn't have at the moment!

Hurry up and take the woofing picture, I can't stay still much longer!

Holly did the best one, she sat down on her butt, sighed and asked us to tell her when it's over!

Tell me when it's over!

 Little May had a hard job standing still but managed to stay still just long enough for the camera to go 'Click'!

Quick, quick, I can't stay like this a moment longer, I'm a Ferret you know!

April dived into the Sea Kale looking for the shrew that May had hid there the other day but some one had gone in and pinched it!

Oi! It's gone!

Holly reckons that it wasn't Archie Babe who had it 'cos he has to wear a 'Muzzle' when he goes out, just to stop him eating any tasty stuff he may find. Well, I think that when he goes out with it on he will look dead hard!

No woofer with a muzzle on gets called anything but Sir!

Back home, OTL cleaned the ferret cages out and then started to look in the 'Hidden Places' the ferrets hide their stolen nibbles.

Behind the cupboard in the lounge OTL emptied about a pound of Doggy Biscuits into the dustbin!

Wendy and Miss April were upset about that 'cos they had been stashing stuff there for ages!

Next OTL had a look in TM's card store room and found that a box of Christmas Crackers had been emptied onto the floor and another load of Doggy Biscuits stashed into the box!

TM said that OTL had to look on the Internetty Thing to see if he could find Muzzles for Ferrets!

Can you imagine it? Archie Babe, down here for a visit, walking along the Sea Wall with a ferret either side of him and all of them wearing muzzles?

Talk about 'The Hard Bunch'!

 Lunchtime Freddy had some fun with OTL, he said that he had found a 'Super Sniff' to roll in and OTL didn't see him until the last moment!

Oooooooo! This is Great!

We saw some Swallows fly over about three weeks ago and today there were a load more heading up north. But on top of that, we heard a cuckoo calling this morning!

A sure sign that Spring is here!

OTL plays The Teacher!

Hi Woofers!

It's Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss April, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret!

It's super brilliant wonderful news that Archie Babe has managed to get released from the vet! Now all he has to do is behave himself and get back to eating again!

Holly had the 'Grumbly Tum' yesterday and she was off her food for a little while! You can't keep a good woofer down and she was back stuffing her face before we went to bed!

Now, you know Old Two Legs has had his eyeballs sorted and now he has been to the optician to get new lenses in his glasses. This means he has to hand over his frames to the optician to get the new lenses fitted.

No problem with that except that now he can't see to read or work on the computer! Everything is out of focus close up!

So, here is the excuse bit, he can't tell if the pictures are in focus or not!

That's his excuse and he is sticking to it!

Here is the first picture, taken of Miss April taking her medication first thing this morning.

Now is this in focus or not?

OTL says it was April who moved!

 Down on the beach we were sniffing for Nargle and even OTL couldn't mess up this one

In focus? Depends on where you look!

Heading along the grass path we walked very slowly so that he could get us in focus. It would have been better if he let us get closer 'cos at this distance we look more like a pair of ferrets!

Slowly, he is still twiddling with the lens!

Down on the beach he gave up, unless the ferrets were not moving. This was Miss May having a good roll in a sniff.

We all called out for her to 'Smile' and just once, it all seemed in focus!

Smile!

 You know, it got so bad that Holly and I were waiting on the hill for ages waiting for the inevitable 'Click' as the shutter goes!

If he takes any longer, I'm going home!

 Lunchtime we were watching out for the rain that was all around us but OTL had looked at the radar and said he saw a 'Window of Opportunity' and off we went!

Is this the window?

While we were on the beach we spotted a load of Mini Two Legs being marched down to the beach.

Holly and I got off the beach and headed up the grass path out of their way 'cos we didn't want to be chased!

Fred and Wendy huddled together and asked if they eat any of them!

If they poke their fingers at us then we can bite them off!

OTL told them they had to be gentle with the Mini TL mob 'cos they had teachers with them!

While Fred and Wendy were having a sniff on the grass path, one of the teachers came up to OTL and asked if the Mini TL mob could see the ferrets?

OK, says OTL and picked up Fred and Wendy and went down to sit on the wall while the TL's gathered around.

It seems there were a number of TL's had seen ferrets before  but there were enough who hadn't and they listened to OTL tell them all about ferrets and how wonderful they were!

Wot a show off OTL was, you know Holly and I didn't even get a mention, it was all ferrets!

Holly and I sat behind OTL and after he had finished the Mini TL's all said 'Thank You' to OTL and they headed back to school while we headed off to the vets for some more medicine for April!

So, that was it really, back home Holly and I shared a Rawhide Chew, well, OTL cut it in half so Holly and I wouldn't argue!

As if!

We are off now to see what is for dinner, OTL's not us!

She is Back!

Hello Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss April, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret!

Wot a day it's been!

First of all, the alarm went off at 04:00hr, well actually there were three alarms that went off. There was the mobile phone alarm but just in case Old Two Legs didn't set it properly, the bedside radio alarm went off and just in case they were blocked out by a Solar Storm, the buzzer on the alarm went off as well!

It made Holly and I jump and OTL fell out of bed as well!

Well, it got him up!

So, while OTL was having a shower, Holly and went back to our snoozing!

OTL had his breakfast with May and April, as normal but to day they went back in the cage instead of coming for a walk with us. OTL reckoned he would have to leave the house by six to be in plenty of time to pick up Zoe and Paul from Heathrow.

So, five past six we set off, heading to Terminal Five via the motorway system, M20, M26 and M25!

Now OTL reckons that at that time we would hit the rush hour so a journey time of three hours should be long enough enough to get through the rush hour traffic and arrive in plenty of time.

OTL is a bit funny like that, he says he would rather arrive thirty minutes early than thirty seconds late!

Well as it turned out, we arrived twenty two minutes early, so we sat in the car park watching all the passengers meeting up with their cars!

We waited in the car and soon we were all ready to take them home. They had a bumpy flight for a while but settled down to breakfast before landing!

We got to their house and we could sniff The Missus through the door! That was it, the door opened and we went a little potty!

So did TM!

Then it was unload the car and load it back up again!

We reckon that TM had more luggage for herself that Zoe and Paul had for a week in New York!

Of we headed for home and arrived just in time to take Fred and Wendy out for a run on the beach. The sun was shining but we saw some rain clouds over Southend on Sea, so we didn't hang about too long!

All this rushing and rearing about, OTL didn't take his camera, here are a few pictures from young Ethan!

First of all there is an 'Explosion' of blossom!

Then of course there were the ducks showing off to each other!

Just look at these wings!

 The Mallards were the best for showing off.

So you can talk under water, but I'm not really impressed!

The best one is the Coot.

I just don't do Ducks!

So we are off to investigate dinner, Holly reckons it is Chicken but I think it's Doggy Scoff 'cos OTL didn't get any chicken out of the freezer!

Now, we have heard that Archie Babe could be home today so we are all crossing our claws that he manages to escape!

A New Beach!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss April, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret here!

It has been another of those days when everything has been messed about with and some of us have missed out!

Let me tell you what I mean!

First of all Old Two Legs was up an hour earlier than normal 'cos he says he has a 'Lot to do'. Which was OK as far as Holly and I were concerned, more time snoozing on OTL's pillow!

Well, we got out much earlier and even the ferrets thought it was a bit off getting woken up before normal. Mind you, that didn't stop them mugging OTL for some nibbles and a slurp of Ferretone!

Down on the beach it was a bit blowy and there was rain in the air, so we didn't hang about too long!

OTL had forgotten the camera, so there are no pictures of Holly being a big tart in front of Bert!

We were left at home while OTL went off to have his eyes measured for some new glasses. Yes, he came out crying and saying that the opticians are as bad as vets!

I don't know what he is complaining about just think how much he would get charged if us woofers needed glasses!

OTL came back with some radios he had to re-programme and take back today!

He is such a busy boy!

Next we were off to collect some radios for delivery today and after collecting them we went down to the sea front at Herne Bay!

It's a really strange place 'cos it has the end of a pier out in the sea but there is no way of getting out to it unless you had a boat!

We meet a Herne Bay Woofer!

The Herne Bay Woofer was chasing stone that his Two Legs was throwing into the water.

We had a sniff and ferret around and Holly got us in trouble. You see she found a sniff on the wind and followed it, that was until OTL chased after her and put her on the lead. Now normally I wouldn't be bother but OTL decided to put me on the lead as well!

We headed back to deliver the radios and then home for a pre dinner snooze!

Tonight we have got Lambs Heart for us but we are not sure what OTL has in mind for himself.

One thing is for sure, he will not be dining on curry 'cos he had it last night!

Fate was kind to him after all!

We will be up early tomorrow to pick Zoe and Paul from Heathrow, at 08:30hr!

That means that OTL will have to be up at four in the morning to get everything done and on the road in time to get through all the morning traffic around the M25!

Still, we will have fun blowing raspberries at all the other cars!

Sunshine is here!

Hi Woofers!

It's Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss April, Miss Wendy and the one and only, Freddy de Ferret!

We had some fun this morning!

Now, Old Two Legs is not one of those 'Risk Takers' or a gambler. He reckons that 'Good Luck' sort of passed him by and he subscribes to the 'Fate  Theory', like if you do good then a little bounces back and you get pleasant surprises.

Like two woofers and four ferrets!

Well, this morning we reminded him that we needed supplies from the freezer, like chicken and curry and a bottle of milk!

So he had a rummage around and found the chicken pieces and the milk but he wasn't sure about the curry. You see, The Missus has a 'Batch' cook and prepares half a ton of curry and puts in into little plastic boxes which are meal size. The all you have to do is thaw out the contents, cook some rice and Hey Presto, OTL has got curry for dinner!

Now she also does this for Cottage Pie and Shepherds Pie as well.

Normally a good sniff tells you the difference between curry and the other pies, that is of course, you have a good sense of smell.

OTL doesn't.

So, tonight OTL is looking forward to Curry and Rice which could transform into Shepherds Pie and Rice or even Cottage Pie and Rice!

It is at this point that 'Fate' takes a hand. OTL has cleaned the ferret cages, played games of 'Chase' with the ferrets, fed them tit bits of their favourite nibbles and a slurp of Ferretone!

Holly and I got a fresh Bonio biscuit each as well!

So, claws crossed, OTL will get a curry with loads of meat in it!

But, if he has been naughty, who knows what he'll get tonight?

Let's see what Fate does for him!

Fate was on our side this morning first thing. We were our of the car and chasing rabbits along the grass path.

When May went looking for the Shrew it had gone. Holly reckons that some Weasel had found it and was enjoying a good breakfast!

April thought it had run away!

It had no head, how can it run away?

We were all playing 'Hunt The Shrew' in the grass but there was no sign of it at all!

April said that we should all check our paws 'cos she thought I had trodden in something smelly!

'ere, wot you trod in?

We found a puddle on the path and was all had a splosh before getting back into the car!

Lunchtime we were down the beach again, this time with Fred and Wendy. Unfortunately it was rather chilly and drafty, so you know what happened..........

We've had a wee, can we get back in the bag now?

 As we got closer to the car both ferrets jumped out of the bag and raced towards the car park. All this running makes them both thirsty and of course, they were first into the back of the car!

I know it tastes of Woofer but I really need a drink!

Young Ethan has been out with his camera again and managed some good shots of the local ducks!

This is an Egyptian Goose with last years  offspring!

The Canada Goose was showing off 'cos he couldn't get all the food that was being thrown in the water!

OK, throw some food my way!

 Of course there were Mr and Mrs Mallard!

It's the Quackery Family!

There was a good shot of some tulips but the background was a bit untidy, too many houses, so, OTL played around with it on his computer and this is the result!

So, that is about it at the moment, OTL is off to have a look at his frozen dinner, we still can't work out what it is but the frost has fallen off the outside but the lid is still frozen in place!

Our chicken looks almost ready to cook so at least we will get our dinner tonight, OTL may be down to a Bacon Sarnie with rice!

Let's hope Archie Babe is better and he gets released early next week!

Saturday is Fun Day!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss April, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret back again!

Well, today we over slept, which is a bit strange 'cos we fell asleep yesterday evening and only woke up in time to go to bed!

We don't mind really 'cos it is the Weekend and we are allowed to do stuff like that!

We had some fun down on the beach, I found a well chewed ball and Old Two Legs was throwing it for me to chase. It's a pity that the tide wasn't in 'cos I could have gone in for a swim!

Miss May was sniffing the air and her whiskers were all of a twitch. She could sniff something that would be a 'First' for her!

It's here, I know it's here, I can sniff it's here!

 She had a ferret around and the dived into the Sea Kale, well, we thought, it's just the plant sniff but she went in and was shaking something that wasn't going to see midday!

It was a Shrew! Within a few seconds May had chewed the head off and was looking for somewhere to stash the rest so she could come back tomorrow for 'afters'!

A little bit left for later!

It was lucky that OTL had the camera out 'cos she dived back into the Sea Kale and hid the rest of the Shrew for later!

Now I'd have a look at it but remembering back to Archie Babes troubles, (Giardia) I think I'll give it a miss this time thank you very much!

Lunchtime we were down the beach again and OTL forgot the camera, plonker!

Mind you, we did visit the Sea Kale but both Freddy and Wendy decided that the dead Shrew was disgusting and there was no way they were going anywhere near it!

We had some pictures sent to us by The Missus of just what they were all getting up to!

Now these were all taken by Ethan on his camera he got as a present!

OTL reckons he is getting better all the time!

How about some Duck Soup?

 Of course, once Duck Soup was mentioned they all cleared off!

 Then he decided to stick to trees and flowers, at least they won't get up and run away!

 Next he tried some 'Macro' work on this blue plant, I reckon the colours are super!

Well, it's not a Blue Bell

Finally he got really close to this Fried Egg Plant, well, we are not sure that is it's name but they do look like a fried egg!

 So, we have had a good day and as soon as OTL finishes on the computer we are off for some dinner.

We have got Doggy Scoff 'cos OTL forgot to get our chicken out of the freezer, he also forgot to get his curry out as well so he is on some sort of scoff as well!

Busy day for OTL!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss April, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret here and I know, we are  late again!

Blame Old Two Legs this time. He has been so busy yesterday and we didn't have dinner until late and of course, after dinner what do you do? Yep! Fall Asleep!

Trouble is, we all fell asleep waking up just in time to go to bed!

So, here is today's news in brief!

Down on the beach Holly found an old shoe that had come in on the tide.

How can they walk in these?

 Freddy said that he fancied a swim today but when he got down to the beach, the waves were just a little too large!

No, Not Today Thank You!

 Mean while, in a town a long way away, we have received pictures that show Auntie Jane with Megan, Finley and Ethan trying to catch some ducks for dinner!

Here Ducky, Ducky!

In the end they decided to go home and get something out of the freezer!

Next Time!

 At the school, they were having a Happy Birthday Feast Thingy Wotssit Day and everyone had to go in dressed as a King or Queen. Well every one except The Missus and Auntie Jane!

 So, other than the snoring from OTL, that's our day, a little boring when OTL is working but we expect there to be some fun today, or else!

Today the Workmen came to call!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss April, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret here again!

We had a super sleep last night, no snoring from The Missus, and, we got to sleep on her side of the bed as well!

We still had to put up with Holly snoring but that is normal for her!

We were up early 'cos May and April were fighting in their cage. Just 'cos they didn't have their full quota of rampaging yesterday!

OTL let them out for breakfast and to give April her medication after that they went potty running all over the place!

In the end they were exhausted and climbed onto my cushion for a rest!

A nice soft Woofer Bed!

 We were soon off down the beach, just in time to see the sun climb up over the horizon.

Good Morning Sunshine!

We didn't see any woofers on our way out to the beach but we did hear some woofing noise in the distance!

Who the Woofing Heck is that?

April and May were charging about on the sand and OTL caught May having a roll in something sniffy!

Just give me a moment and I'll get out of this sniff!

May then went off hunting. She started off looking for Slimy Minsters but then decided she would go hunting Nargles!

Needless to say, she didn't find any Nargles!

There must be a Nargle somewhere around!

Back home it was all rush and tear around getting cages cleaned and stuff like that 'cos we were expecting some workmen to arrive to give all the double glazing windows and doors a good servicing. Some needed re hanging and some required new handles and some just needed re aligning so that the all shut properly and stopped all the draughts!

OTL insisted that we went up to his office and have a snooze while they were working 'cos he didn't want us playing with their tools!

As if!

Lunchtime we were back down the beach with Freddy and Wendy. Holly and I found some sniffs that had been brought in on the high tide and although it was a little blowy, it wasn't too cold!

and there's another sniff here!

Both ferrets decided to have a game in the Sea Kale and little Wendy was even prepared to set up a bed in there!

Can I stay in here for a snooze?

 OTL wouldn't let them stay and instead marched us all back to the car!

Oi! The sniffs are better over here!

Back home we all fell asleep, except OTL who was working on his Tax Return!

You know, that always makes him grumpy, you see, he is not an accountant and he needs to pay close attention to what he is writing in the little boxes!

Now, we are glad to hear that Archie Babe is making a good recovery but sorry to hear he had to have a wash. I mean, dogs only get wet when the go for a swim or get caught in the rain!

Now wot's this allergy bit? I mean, a woofer has got to have some pleasures in life! When I have to have tablets, OTL does his best to hide them in all manner of stuff from cheese spread to a dollop of ice cream!

He has even been known to crush a tablet, shove it down the front of a plastic injector thingy and then back it up with some ice cream, then he shoves it down the side of my tongue and squirts it down my throat!

He don't half get a surprise when I spit it out again!

Oh! The little pleasures of being a woofer!

Keep yer tail up Archie Babe!

Right, we are off to see what OTL is going to cook for himself tonight and find out if it is worth mugging him for some!

We're Back!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss April, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret here!

Sorry about no blog last night, you see we have been out with Old Two Legs in the big car, all day!

After the morning run down the beach we were rushed back to the house 'cos we had to be out good and early!

The Missus is off to baby sit while Auntie Zoe is off to America for a weeks holiday! What is more, OTL had to run them to the airport to catch the plane!

Of course, we got left behind so we didn't see OTL help to catch a plane, I mean, we see them pass over us but they are so high in the sky and we can#t jump up that high and get them, so, we still don't know how Auntie Zoe and Paul and OTL managed to grab one!

They must have done it 'cos OTL arrived back, rather late, and said that it was 'Hell' on the M25 and all roads around the M25 as well!

So, off we went home. Well, we now know what he means 'cos we were sitting in the car and not moving for ages! Holly and I had our noses out of the window sniffing the sniffs and woofing at the other two legs in their cars. We didn't see any woofers so I suppose they all stayed at home and kept out of the way!

Finally, very late, we got back home, just in time for bed!

So, that's the reason for the missing blog!

The ferrets were not too happy about being left all day without any games but we promised to make it up to them today!

Freddy tries sun bathing!

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss April, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret.

At the moment we have not had any information on how Archie Babe is doing. We know he has been given a pink bandage to hold the cannula from falling out, I mean, PINK?

It's a good job his mates can't see him!

Auntie Sue has got a red eye, if she had two red eyes she would look like a white ferret!

Down here in North Kent we have had some sunshine to warm everything up. So, first thing this morning we were down on the beach playing games. Holly and I had fun doing a 'Dig and Whizz'

Out to see we noticed that a ship was coming into the River Medway to off load but as Holly pointed out, it was getting close to the shore!

Then she did some calculations and reckoned that it could run out of water if it didn't move off to the Port Side.

That Holly Dog certainly knows her stuff, the ship changed direction slightly and headed up river!

It could run out of water soon!

Back home Old Two Legs had to take the big car into town to get an MOT test done, so we got left at home looking out the bedroom window and waiting for them to come back!

Lunchtime was fun as well 'cos OTL took us down the beach again and Freddy decided to 'Do a Holly' and catch some rays!

Wendy told him that is he stayed on the beach like that he would appear on shipping maps as a 'Hazzard'!

Come on you lump, Move!

Well, Freddy decided that as the sun was warm and the sand was even warmer he would stretch out and have a little snooze while Wendy was playing Bulldozers with Holly and me!

This is the life!

Wendy is quite good at digging trenches in the sand but she has to keep stopping to shake the sand off her nose!

Sand up your nose makes you sneeze!

As the tide was in, I went to play in the water. OTL told me I couldn't go in swimming.

As if I listened to him!

Come on Holly, have a splash like me!

 Well we both had a paddle but in the end I just couldn't hold back any longer. I pretended there was a stick out on the waves that needed rescuing and in I went!

Holly started to woof and she even got her paws wet, just her paws!

But OTL said no!

Mind you, Freddy and Wendy decided that they would stay out of the water 'cos it looked muddy.

Just wait until the summer arrives, I reckon the pair of them will be in and splashing about!

We got the big car back from it's MOT, so now we are all ready for our holiday up in Scotland, all we have left is for the caravan to get serviced!

OK, we are off to see what we can mug off OTL 'cos we got served up Doggy Scoff!

Yuk!
