OTL tries Blanket Stitch!

Ho Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Not a bad day today, The Missus was off early to go to some 'Craft Fair' at the Kent County Showground'. We have been making guesses on just how much stuff she will come back with and just how big it will be!

We left the ferrets in bed this morning 'cos it was all misty and damp with dew.

We had only just got out of the car when Old Two Legs called out 'Woooosssssh!'

Now that is our secret word for Rabbit!

Holly and I were chasing all over the place but we couldn't find it!

Then we worked out how OTL could see a rabbit while we couldn't.........OTL's got long legs and could see over the bushes!

As seen, over the bushes!
Holly and I had a chase around and enjoyed the opportunity to have a run 'cos when the ferrets are with us we have to go at 'slow walking pace' 'cos they have shorter legs than us!

Look Mum! No Ferrets!
As it was a bit misty OTL had to put up with waving the camera at the railings or lack of railings!

Spot the missing bit!
Lunchtime we had a walk over the fields behind our house 'cos OTL was busy in the caravan screwing bits back that have fallen off over last years use!

He also found that the mattress on the bed had broken the stitching and the seams were slowly undoing!

So, armed with a curved needle and a roll of white cotton he set about repairing the four splits that were about six inches in length, each!

I must say, I was fascinated, it looked so fiddly and that needle looked wickedly sharp!

If I was him I'd use this Thimble!
In the end he finished the repair and we reckon it may be OK until he finds where he can get another mattress from!

Well, TM should be home soon so we are off to watch for her from the bedroom window!

See you tomorrow!

Nice Day for a Wedding!

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Well, wot a super sunny day, just right for a wedding! Mind you, the ferrets couldn't stay awake long enough to watch the whole thing but they did wake up for the ride down the 'Magic Mile'!

First thing this morning both Eric and May came out with us and although there was a lot of dew on the grass they both had fun ferreting around searching for mice, voles and Nargles!

Eric was especially pleased to be out in the fresh air!

You can't beat dew drops on your tum!
Old Two Legs reckoned that the tower looked good enough for a photograph cos of the reflection in the damp mud!
Look! Two towers!
Just for a change the two ferrets were in a chatty mood as we headed back to the car and would you believe it, Eric didn't try to bite me at all!

He's learning his lesson!

When I was a young puppy there were loads of rabbits and mouses along this path!
We bumped into a small snail who was trying to march through the wet grass and as soon as we got close he dived back into his shell!

We said 'Hello' but he didn't come out but he did tell us his name........Streaky!

Streaky cos of the dark streaks on his shell?
It was too warm at lunchtime for Fred and Wendy to come out with us, so, we left them tucked up in the cuddle cup snoring their tails off!

Now, that's a pretty sight!
By the time we got back the wedding had all but finished and they were all heading back for a nosh up before the dance tonight!

As a treat, OTL has been promised a big steak to go with his salad tonight, so Holly and I are planning to do some serious mugging later!

Sunday tomorrow and OTL plans to get in the caravan which he was going to do today but he got all lazy instead!

See you tomorrow!

Thank Woof it's Friday!

Hello Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly,Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

I just love a sunny day it makes you feel good to have some sun on your back!

Both Eric and May had great fun ferreting around in the grass and Eric says he found a Nargle hiding in the grass, but it ran away!

You just can't beat a good ferret in the grass!
When lunchtime arrived both Wendy and Freddy decided they wanted some fresh air and a walk.

Now Freddy is getting on a bit and not up to rampaging around the football field!

So, for the first half of the walk Wendy and Freddy had a cuddle with Old Two Legs then as we headed back, Wendy got down and started to investigate all the sniffs.

Freddy on the other paw said that the cuddle was just what he wanted and the sun shining on his back made him feel good!

You just can't beat a snooze and a cuddle when the sun shines!
Wendy takes her time when she is sniffing the sniffs, so, Holly and I get ahead and enjoy investigating our own sniffs. I like climbing up on the bench to see what's around while Holly stays underneath in the shade!

I spy with my little eye something beginning with ..........W?
By the time we had got back to the football field Freddy had decided he fancied a stroll in the grass.

He stood for a while sniffing the grass and listening to the noise made by the little Two Legs in their school.

Freddy wanted to know why they make so much noise but, as Holly said, 'It's a TL thing'!

It's the sun that brings them out!
Back home both Freddy and Wendy enjoyed a feast of Brambles Biscuits before retiring the bed for a snooze!

Holly and I are looking forward to going out in the caravan tomorrow to help OTL check on all the bits that normally vibrate lose like the bed mounting or the clips on the cupboards and the shelves in the kitchen!

He is also going to look at the mountings for the new water heater that is going in on Monday!

After all that, we let The Missus in to tidy everything before the holidays!

Now, I reckon we should have some chicken tonight!

Good to hear that Archie Babe is getting better now and it's always fun to try some new jollop from the vet!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly,Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Another working day!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

Well, apart from the chilly wind this morning, today has been super sunny!

Eric and May came out with us this morning but at lunch time Fred and Wendy decided it was too hot to go for a walk with us!

Old Two Legs had decided that today 'cos it was so sunny, he would give the caravan a wash and after lunch he started. First he had to find the shampoo which had hidden it's self deep in the back of the shed where the spiders have there nests!

Next we searched for the bucket and a rag to wash the mould off the roof of the caravan!

Finally the water pressure washed was dug out from under a load of rubbish that The Missus had hidden in the shed!

It wasn't too long before OTL had it all set up and was waving the pressure washer and scrubbing the roof!

Holly and I decided that the best place was the bedroom window 'cos we could see what OTL was doing and of course we could tell him if he missed a bit!

It was funny when he was washing the soap off and and the water jet hit the handles and threw the water directly back at him!

OTL was getting wet and soggy!

Well, we sat there for ages, pointing out the missed bits and then suggested how he could do it quicker and cleaner if he did it the way we suggested.

OTL didn't seem to appreciate our suggestions and he did suggest a few things he would do to us if we kept on poking fun at him!

Finally he finished it all and I must say, it does look clean, all we have to do is hope that it stays that way up to when we go off to the Mull of Kintyre!

While we are up there TM is going to a Master Class at a place called Ecclefechan. Now both Holly and I think that Ecclefechan sounded like something nasty the vet would sort out!

Maybe it was something you only get in Scotland, I mean, instead of a 'Good Morning' you could have 'How's your Ecclefechan today?' or, 'I've got a touch of the Ecclefechans!'

When we get there we'll let you know what's it like!

We are off to see what's for dinner!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Getting ready for some serious action!

Hello Woofers!

It's Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here again!

OK, sorry, no pictures today 'cos we have all been very busy running around like blue tailed flies!

Eric and May came out for a walk first thing this morning but it was a little windy and just a teeny bit cold!

Not that it worried Eric too much but May did ask for a carry a couple of times!

Lunchtime it was Wendy who came out leaving Freddy de Snooze curled up in the cuddle cup bed!

The weather hadn't changed, it was still windy and just a little cold.

However......................

We have a wildlife pond in our garden that contains loads of insects and stuff that has arrived there by natural selection, with the exception of the frogs wot arrived in a plastic jug via Auntie Helen!

OTL got some aquatic plants to decorate the pond rim but all the rest is mother nature, including the three feet of rotting leaf mould from the tree in the garden.

Everything was going well and the plants got on with each other while the insects ate each other, as they do!

OTL does nothing other than top up the water level when the sun burns off the water during the hot weather.

Last year there appeared a strange looking plant that quickly took over the pond, killing off several of the plants and blocking the light from getting to the established plants. It played hell with the water snails and wiped out the plant that was supposed to make the water all clean and oxygenated! After it had made a really determined effort to take over not only the pond but all the surrounding areas, OTL decided it wasn't playing fair and started to dig it all up!

This year it has started to grow again!

Can't it take a hint?

So, armed with a sharp trowel, OTL set about digging up whatever new shoot stuck it's stalk and leaves above ground level and as much of the root as he could find!

Yesterday he decided that he was fighting a loosing battle and cold steel with a sharpy pointed end was not having the desired impression!

OTL has decided to 'Nuke' the unwelcome visitor that arrived in our garden via a lump of bird poo!

He has ordered up some syringes and a litre of commercial grade plant killer!

The plan is to let the stalk push its head up far enough so that OTL can stab it with a syringe full of Nasty Plant Nuking Fluid and that will kill off the roots and the stalk!

The best bit is it can be used around animals and sort of dies when it gets in contact with the earth!

If all goes to plan we should be rid of this foreign plant this year!

Well, that's the plan anyway!

All OTL has to do is sharpen the end of the needle if it won't go into the stalk but as he has loads of tools I'm sure that will be no problem!

So, that's what has been happening today!

We are all exhausted and are planning an early night, after a few nibbles of course!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

OTL Starts the Rebuild!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, iss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

Wot a super sunny day it's been today. A little chilly first thing but that didn't stop the ferrets from enjoying their walk.

Young Eric is really chancing his tail, you know, that little Rat Chops tried to give me a nip just cos I wasn't getting out of his way! I gave him the Woofer Grumble and asked him 'Just how much does he value his tail!'

I think he got the message!

Mind you, you have got to admire his bravery, I mean, he is barely one kilo and I'm nine and a bit kilos! A sort of one sided punch up if he carries on!

Come on, let's sneak up on them!
It was then that May requested a little carry but Eric didn't see her and got all upset cos he thought she had run away!

Hey! Where has she gone? May is Missing!
Of course, she hadn't but that taught Eric a lesson to keep his eyes open!

Back at the football field, Holly found as super sniff that had her name on it!

Old Two Legs says her name should be 'Smelly Woofer'!

This is almost as good as a bowl of chicken!
On our way out at lunchtime we tried to find the sniff but we couldn't find it anywhere!

I hate it when you loose a sniff!
I got down to the beach before OTL and Holly arrived, there was Cody and his mate having a little splash, so I joined in and managed a splash before OTL started calling me!

A sneaky splash!
I thought it was great fun getting a dip in the water before OTL could tell me off!

I beat OTL! I beat OTL! I beat OTL! I beat OTL! I beat OTL! I beat OTL! I beat OTL!
We didn't take Freddy and Wendy cos they were both asleep and didn't want to get up!

This afternoon OTL was out working on the caravan, getting the new battery installed and re installing the gas bottles and clearing out the rubbish out of the front of the caravan!

He has been in touch with the manufacturers of the caravan looking to get a replacement front end to the caravan cos it has some cracking of the plastic so he has asked if they can put a new one on or repair the existing one!

More expenses!

See you tomorrow!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

I was Feeling Neglected!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

It was a bit chilly this morning, the wind was blowing in from off the sea and even the ferrets stayed tucked up in Old Two Legs arms until the last minute!

As normal, with two woofers and two ferrets he didn't take the camera and the phone stayed in his pocket in case we were visited by Ferocious Woofers!

Mind you, we didn't see any but you never know when one will pop out from behind a hedge!

Some good news! We had chicken served up for lunch and as we both finished the bowl, there was a Teeth Cleaning Chew each as a 'Treat'!

Lunchtime came and Freddy decided to stay in bed, well, he had got all exhausted running around the lounge and jumping up and down on the bubble wrap!

A quick slurp of Ferretone and then a dash back to bed and that was him sorted for the afternoon!

Wendy decided as the sun was poking it's head out from behind the clouds that she would come for a walk with us.

The tide was right in, in fact it was right up the beach and Holly reckons it could even be a Spring Tide!

Well, it looks like a Spring Tide to me!
Miss Wendy said that it was most likely a Spring Tide cos it was Spring Time and the grass was growing quickly!

Miss Wendy is clever sort of ferret but really only socialises in Ferret stuff!

The grass is Rizz, I wonder where the Mole Hills Iz?
Ferrets aren't very good at poetry!

We had a good game charging across the football field  to find the latest sniffs. Miss Wendy was up for that game especially if there was a chance of catching a Mole!

Any Moles under the grass?
When we got back we found that we had visitors, Terry and Shirley, they had come over to see if OTL can work out how to program a radio scanner!

There was OTL and Terry plonking about with the buttons and getting nowhere. Then, just as they were about to give up, OTL made a 'Mistake' and the thing worked!

So, then it was having to 'Work Backwards' to find out what he had done to make it work!

Loads of poking and pulling and fiddling but finally they managed to make it work 'On Command'!

Now, I was getting right fed up with them fiddling and decided I needed some attention. So, I jumped up onto OTL's lap and snuggled down for a cuddle!

OTL got the message and we had a good cuddle while he was gassing with Terry!

I wonder what is for dinner tonight, steak and chips or is it still salad stuff!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Sunshine Again!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret back with you again!

I don't know what sort of day you have had but here is has been 'Relaxing'!

It started off with our morning walk along the sea front with both Eric and Miss May.

May was being a little lazy and stayed cuddled up to Old Two Legs until we turned to home and only then would she get down and have a run!

Eric, on the other paw, all he wanted to do was get down, have a sniff and get back up again.

As soon as we turned for home he was down and running along with Miss May!

Back home we had a great time playing with some bubble wrap that had been wrapped around a couple of new ferret cages that will pass through the caravan door without having to tip the cage on it's side, sending ferrets and ferret poo crashing into the side wall!

Luckily for us the rain that landed last night had gone by the time we got out so the grass wasn't that wet.

Lunchtime we took Miss Wendy with us and left Freddy to have a snooze. You see Freddy is getting old now and is not as active as he used to be. We took him out a couple of days ago and he has taken two days to get over it!

Miss Wendy, on the other paw is a couple of years younger and can still enjoy a jog along the shore sniffing the sniffs!

Get a move on or I'll run you over!
What we like about Wendy is, she doesn't try to give you a nip if we get too close! Not like Eric, he is always trying to catch us and it really upsets Holly!

Here I come! I told you to move!
Being a Sunday, there were the normal tourists plus a big gang of fishermen. We didn't bother with the fishermen 'cos they had all eaten their sarnies but we did get stopped by the tourists. you know, 'does she bite/smell/only come out at night?' Gawd, the number of times we have heard that!

OK, where have the fish gone?
No sarnies, no fish, might as well go home!
When we got back, Freddy came out of the cage for a little run around the house and to play with the bubble wrap. He also loves getting into the plastic shopping bags to have a good scratch! OTL also rolled him onto his back for a tickle and also to blow a raspberry on Freddy's tummy!

Freddy loves that and he always chuckles when OTL does it!

We all watched to F1 Racing which was interesting but not wildly exciting. You see, once Hamilton gets in front, no one can catch him, unless there is a 'Safety Car' moment but as long as he is in front, off he goes again, it seems that the Mercedes don't like 'Dirty Air'!

OK, we are off to do Holly's ears now 'cos OTL got another bottle of ear gunk to get rid of the Streptococklewottsit bug that has mad a home in both ears! It's slowly going and by the time we have finished the bottle it should have gone, a bit like OTL's money!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Saturday is fun!

Hello Woofers!

We're back again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Today The Missus is off to her Master Class and as normal, she was up before the sun!

We all stayed in bed enjoying the extra space on the bed!

Finally we had to get up 'cos the noise she was making, no one could sleep through!

So, about quarter to seven us, the ferrets and Old Two Legs were heading down to the sea shore.

Because we had been having some wind over night, that stopped the dew from forming so both ferrets were charging about and rolling in sniffs!

OTL didn't bring the camera 'cos two woofers and two ferrets to look after didn't give him time to take any pictures!

It still was fun and the ferrets just loved diving into the dried grass that was left in piles after the groundsmen had mown the football field!

Freddy didn't want to get up this morning. He stayed in bed an extra hour and said he was feeling 'Worn Out' from age. We reckon Freddy to be six years plus and that is a good age for a ferret but now he would rather stay under the blankets than charge across a grassy football field, mind you OTL says that as well, normally when it is raining and Holly and I want to go out for a walk!

Lunchtime we left Freddy and Miss Wendy snoozing 'cos it was raining and ferrets just hate the rain!

Holly and I didn't hang about, a quick wee and then we head back to the car!

We were going to watch the F1 qualifying but as OTL had some work to do we left that until this evening when we can all watch it from the recording!

So, not such a wild and dangerous day, just a sort of lazy Saturday, maybe it will get exciting tomorrow!

Bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Eric plays the Red Indian!

Hi Woofers!

The gang is back again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

We thought it was going to rain today but we were wrong, it's tomorrow. Well according to the weather forecaster!

It has to rain tomorrow cos it's the weekend!

Eric and May came out with us first thing and Eric said he was going to have a game with Holly.

All the way down to the sea front Eric was telling May how Ferrets were first kept by the American Indians and they were train in how to capture Buffalo for dinner!

Holly Chops was listening but pretended not to be listening, if you know what I mean!

So, it started.

Holly was nose down in the grass investigating a tasty sniff, when, out of the corner of her eye she spotted two ferrets creeping through the grass!

OK, go around to the right and circle her!
Miss May kept telling Eric to keep his tail down but forgot to stop waving hers!

OK, now we start to gallop and when she gets dizzy watching us we can then go and bite her tail!
Well, that was the idea but of course, Holly was watching all the time and as soon as they got near she woofed at them and chased them around in a circle!

Eric disappeared into the grass while May rushed over to Old Two Legs to get protection!

Quick! I need to be rescued from a ferocious woofer!
Before long both ferrets were up in OTL's arm while Holly just sat there with a Superior Look on her face!

You gotta be better than that to catch me!
Lunchtime Freddy and Wendy came out with us and although Freddy didn't walk all the way, he did get down for a little wander as well as a wee!

When we got to the football field he got down again and in his own time walked all the way across the field!

Mind you, he has spent all the afternoon snoring his tail off!

Now, Isle of Mull, here is another shot of an eagle flying down to get a fish thrown from the boat!

Fish are OK but I wonder what a ferret tastes like?
You know, when the eagle is full grown her wingspan can get up to ten feet!

Now that's one big bird!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!
