Friday Fun

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

I must say, this long run of good weather is really great. The ferrets get some fresh air, providing the temperature is just right and not too hot, damp or wet!

First thing this morning Eric and May had great fun chasing 'Things' in the grass. When we ask what they were chasing we were told 'Ferret Things'!

The Missus has been busy today getting herself organised for the weekend festivities. We were shown a picture of a cake being baked for the 'Guess the Weight' and would you believe it has a picture of a ferret on it!

We just had to ask who made it, certainly not TM! We have Auntie Tracy Hastings to thank for this super cake and she is a friend of 'The Cat Woman' who, incidentally, has been the Chief  Organiser and Whip Cracker this year!

Now normally we wouldn't eat cake but in this instance, we would be willing to make a change and get our eating gear straight in!

Eric says he thinks he knows the ferret in the picture!
Old Two Legs will be buying several 'Guesses' 'cos he just loves cake!

Holly and I have asked if we can help the winner nibble around the edges!

There will be loads of donations from the 'Craft Maunufacturers' to be won in the raffle and we did hear that there is a bottle or two of Giggle Juice!

OTL has been busy today getting all his 'Engineering' packed and off to the carrier so that the weekend is free for 'Relaxing'. Well, he can relax after the poo shovelling and woofer walking and there is some gardening to be done and of course we will be meeting up with Uncle Miffy again. He is the one who used to go climbing mountains with OTL, when he was younger!

Nowadays OTL has trouble climbing the stairs!

OK, we are off for some Doggy Scoff and an early night 'cos we have to be up early to help get the village hall organised.

See you tomorrow and OTL should have some photo's of the fun and games!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

A Seriosly Lazy Day!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Well, it has been a sort of boring day today, boring 'cos Old Two Legs has been 'Engineering' and cutting and chopping bits and on top of that he even had the soldering iron out!

We were up early and although it wasn't sunny, it was mild with a gentle breeze.

Eric and May had fun in the grass sniffing the sniffs and May even got in a good roll in a sniff!

This is better than hiding in the rubbish bin!
Eric, being the gentleman, sort of, agreed to keep a watch out for OTL, just in case he tried to stop the roll!

Keep going, he's messing about with the camera!
Back home we headed for the bed for a snooze while OTL did his jobs before going back to 'Engineering' again. That was until lunch time.

You see The Missus pinched the car to go and get a shampoo and set. Holly and I reckon she should have gone to ask OTL to get his clippers out and give her a trim!

OK, we know she hasn't got a tail but providing she doesn't fidget too much, OTL could soon zoom over her with with the electric shears!

Lunchtime we took Wendy out with us 'cos she likes a run on the sea front. Freddy was snoozing in bed and said he was 'Too Tired' so we left him at home. Well, he is getting a bit old now and tearing around just doesn't appeal to his sense of adventure any more, he'd rather curl up in the cuddle cup nowadays!

Wendy still likes a run although she is not into rolling in the sniffs but rather would ferret about looking for Nargles!

Bet you didn't see me creeping up on you!
Holly and I sampled the sniffs and then pretended we hadn't seen Wendy so we let her jump out at us and we both went Ooh! and pretended to fall over on our tails!

No, I don't see her at all, I wonder where she is hiding?
TM has been very productive this afternoon, one card, well she doesn't want to over do it does she?

This weekend is going to be an orgy of crafting with loads of ladies bringing their stuff along to enjoy a weekend of doing what they want!

We have been invited to come up and say hello and OTL will be bringing the ferrets to say hello to everyone as well.

There is bound to be loads of nibbles and at lunchtime there is fish and chips for everyone!

Holly is practising her 'Hungry Look' so with a bit of luck we won't have to eat that Doggy Scoff we normally get served with when TM has been out crafting!

See you all tomorrow.

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Finished the rocks!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

Another wonderful day with some glorious sun shine. Eric and May had a great time sniffing in the undergrowth and under the tufts of grass!

After the morning walk we headed home and guess wot I saw?

A CAT!

We hadn't even got out of the car park and there it was, sitting in the middle of the road, licking his tail and paying no notice to us!

Well, I wasn't having any of that and as Old Two Leg stopped the car I let go with a low down grumbly growl which is a prelude to some serious woofing!

Wot a Cheek!
This cat just sat there, I mean, does he think he owns the place?

OTL had the answer though, we crept forward a couple of feet so we was almost on top of the cat and then, just as the cat stuck his leg in the air another couple of inches OTL hit the hooter and

                                                            POW!

That cat went vertical from a seated position and we were sure he went sideways at the same time!

That got him sorted!

Lunchtime we left Freddy and Wendy asleep ''cos it was a little too warm for them to come out.

When we got to the car park Holly spotted some Two Legs munching away and thought she might just get a nibble or two!

Poor Holly, they took no notice of her and carried on stuffing their faces!

Not fair, it's just not fair!
The local council have cut the grass very short this year and as such we have not seen much of the insects that we used to see. The swallows and butterflies and bugs seem to have disappeared this yer. So, it was exciting seeing a small butterfly on the clover. OTL tried to focus up on it but it kept on flying away every time he got close!

Dunno what it is but it's the size of a 5p piece!
Not having the ferrets means we can have a sniff without worrying about getting a nip on the tail!

Mind you, there is a sort of excitement of not knowing if you are going to get a ferret diving between your paws!

I keep looking around expecting one of those ferrets to jump out!

OTL went down to the gardening centre and got another eight bags of pebbles and has been spreading them about and I must admit, it looks rather good!

Another plan is to get a big urn and plant it in the middle of it all!

When he gets it all finished I'll take a photo of it to let you see what he has done!

Today OTL got an order that requires some engineering so we reckon that for the next two or three days he is going to be a busy little OTL!

I suppose that means Holly and I will be looking forward to some extra snoozing!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

TM Gets into Nuking the dust!

Hi Woofers!

Another hot day for us all, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Living in the South East of the country we certainly get all the sunshine that is on offer! A little cloudy to begin with but later on its been Hot, Hot, Hot!

Eric and May came out with us first thing and then at lunchtime Wendy and Freddy. Freddy said it was just too hot and stayed cuddled up in Old Two Legs arms but Miss Wendy had fun sniffing the sniffs.

After lunch, The Missus and OTL went out in the big car. They had to take the big car 'cos OTL is 'Investing' in a few bags of 'River Pebbles' to finish off the back end of the garden.

No grass, unless it is weed and a woofer poo quickly bakes then gets washed away with the rain!

So, OTL being careful with his dosh stood looking at a bag of pebbles with the sign that said it was £7 per bag. Then, he looks over to the next rack to see the same pebbles, in a different coloured bag but with no price tag.

As one of the employees was passing, OTL grabbed him and whispered in his ear 'Wot's the price of those pebbles in the bag with no price tag?'

Ummm! Says the employee, 'Them over there are £7 a bag and the one wiv no price is £3 per bag, bloody rip off if yer ask me!'

Ha! Says OTL, I'll have the £3 ones! Then he loads a barrow up with ten bags!

Well, they have been spread around in the place where they are supposed to go and OTL now finds he needs another seven or eight more bags to do a good job!

That's a job for tomorrow.

Seeing all the dust and grot in the back of the car reminded TM she promised herself a new vacuum cleaner and as the shop was close she spent a good half an hour comparing cleaners. Finally she came out with a Thermonuclear Powered Super Sucking Cordless Vacuum Cleaner!

This one is so powerful that she can ride it just like a Harry Potter Flying Broom!

She has been flying around the village making a right load of noise, we will get the neighbours complaining soon!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Another busy Day!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

Wot a super day it's been! A bit misty first thing but this afternoon the sun has bee baking hot!

Lucky for Old Two Legs, he got an 'Expurt' in to install the new water heater in the caravan and now that it's finished it look real Posh and better still, it works!

Our morning walk was with Eric and May who spent most of the time playing 'Chase The Ferrets Tail'

That was until they got all worn out when the got to the football field!

OK, I give in, let's go and beat up a woofer!
The sky was all cloudy but it was still mild and Eric reckons the sun will be out this afternoon, he's getting all knowledgeable, just like Holly Chops!

Next he will be talking about isobars and cold fronts!
Lunchtime it was good to see Freddy de Ferret out in the sunshine. Nowadays Old Two Legs gives him a cuddle and calls him Freddy the Fearless on account that when ever there is any trouble he turns his back and ignores all the fuss!

Fearless Freddy hiding from the Nargles!
Now, we know that Eric is always up for some mischief and will often try to give Holly a nip on her back legs. Freddy, on the other paw has never got involved in any of that troublesome behaviour. That is why when Holly comes up behind Freddy she always asks if he is 'Alright'!

Are you OK Fearless?
Miss Wendy is the one who loves a jog but Freddy just ables along, minding his own business and every so often stops and gets a carry from OTL!

OTL, can I have a carry please?
Freddy is getting on in years and doesn't do the racing he used to do, he is more of a 'Thinker' than a 'Rampager'!

Mind you, he is always first out of the ferret travelling cage and first into the feeding bowl!

So, after all has been done today, OTL has declared that the caravan is ready for the holiday and that should be in three weeks.

All we got to do now is to get the inside cleaned and vacuumed and we can be off!

We are all looking forward to dipping our paws in the sea and even Holly said she might have a small paddle!

Ooooh! She is so brave!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

OTL tries Blanket Stitch!

Ho Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Not a bad day today, The Missus was off early to go to some 'Craft Fair' at the Kent County Showground'. We have been making guesses on just how much stuff she will come back with and just how big it will be!

We left the ferrets in bed this morning 'cos it was all misty and damp with dew.

We had only just got out of the car when Old Two Legs called out 'Woooosssssh!'

Now that is our secret word for Rabbit!

Holly and I were chasing all over the place but we couldn't find it!

Then we worked out how OTL could see a rabbit while we couldn't.........OTL's got long legs and could see over the bushes!

As seen, over the bushes!
Holly and I had a chase around and enjoyed the opportunity to have a run 'cos when the ferrets are with us we have to go at 'slow walking pace' 'cos they have shorter legs than us!

Look Mum! No Ferrets!
As it was a bit misty OTL had to put up with waving the camera at the railings or lack of railings!

Spot the missing bit!
Lunchtime we had a walk over the fields behind our house 'cos OTL was busy in the caravan screwing bits back that have fallen off over last years use!

He also found that the mattress on the bed had broken the stitching and the seams were slowly undoing!

So, armed with a curved needle and a roll of white cotton he set about repairing the four splits that were about six inches in length, each!

I must say, I was fascinated, it looked so fiddly and that needle looked wickedly sharp!

If I was him I'd use this Thimble!
In the end he finished the repair and we reckon it may be OK until he finds where he can get another mattress from!

Well, TM should be home soon so we are off to watch for her from the bedroom window!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Nice Day for a Wedding!

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Well, wot a super sunny day, just right for a wedding! Mind you, the ferrets couldn't stay awake long enough to watch the whole thing but they did wake up for the ride down the 'Magic Mile'!

First thing this morning both Eric and May came out with us and although there was a lot of dew on the grass they both had fun ferreting around searching for mice, voles and Nargles!

Eric was especially pleased to be out in the fresh air!

You can't beat dew drops on your tum!
Old Two Legs reckoned that the tower looked good enough for a photograph cos of the reflection in the damp mud!
Look! Two towers!
Just for a change the two ferrets were in a chatty mood as we headed back to the car and would you believe it, Eric didn't try to bite me at all!

He's learning his lesson!

When I was a young puppy there were loads of rabbits and mouses along this path!
We bumped into a small snail who was trying to march through the wet grass and as soon as we got close he dived back into his shell!

We said 'Hello' but he didn't come out but he did tell us his name........Streaky!

Streaky cos of the dark streaks on his shell?
It was too warm at lunchtime for Fred and Wendy to come out with us, so, we left them tucked up in the cuddle cup snoring their tails off!

Now, that's a pretty sight!
By the time we got back the wedding had all but finished and they were all heading back for a nosh up before the dance tonight!

As a treat, OTL has been promised a big steak to go with his salad tonight, so Holly and I are planning to do some serious mugging later!

Sunday tomorrow and OTL plans to get in the caravan which he was going to do today but he got all lazy instead!

See you tomorrow!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Thank Woof it's Friday!

Hello Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly,Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

I just love a sunny day it makes you feel good to have some sun on your back!

Both Eric and May had great fun ferreting around in the grass and Eric says he found a Nargle hiding in the grass, but it ran away!

You just can't beat a good ferret in the grass!
When lunchtime arrived both Wendy and Freddy decided they wanted some fresh air and a walk.

Now Freddy is getting on a bit and not up to rampaging around the football field!

So, for the first half of the walk Wendy and Freddy had a cuddle with Old Two Legs then as we headed back, Wendy got down and started to investigate all the sniffs.

Freddy on the other paw said that the cuddle was just what he wanted and the sun shining on his back made him feel good!

You just can't beat a snooze and a cuddle when the sun shines!
Wendy takes her time when she is sniffing the sniffs, so, Holly and I get ahead and enjoy investigating our own sniffs. I like climbing up on the bench to see what's around while Holly stays underneath in the shade!

I spy with my little eye something beginning with ..........W?
By the time we had got back to the football field Freddy had decided he fancied a stroll in the grass.

He stood for a while sniffing the grass and listening to the noise made by the little Two Legs in their school.

Freddy wanted to know why they make so much noise but, as Holly said, 'It's a TL thing'!

It's the sun that brings them out!
Back home both Freddy and Wendy enjoyed a feast of Brambles Biscuits before retiring the bed for a snooze!

Holly and I are looking forward to going out in the caravan tomorrow to help OTL check on all the bits that normally vibrate lose like the bed mounting or the clips on the cupboards and the shelves in the kitchen!

He is also going to look at the mountings for the new water heater that is going in on Monday!

After all that, we let The Missus in to tidy everything before the holidays!

Now, I reckon we should have some chicken tonight!

Good to hear that Archie Babe is getting better now and it's always fun to try some new jollop from the vet!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly,Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Another working day!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

Well, apart from the chilly wind this morning, today has been super sunny!

Eric and May came out with us this morning but at lunch time Fred and Wendy decided it was too hot to go for a walk with us!

Old Two Legs had decided that today 'cos it was so sunny, he would give the caravan a wash and after lunch he started. First he had to find the shampoo which had hidden it's self deep in the back of the shed where the spiders have there nests!

Next we searched for the bucket and a rag to wash the mould off the roof of the caravan!

Finally the water pressure washed was dug out from under a load of rubbish that The Missus had hidden in the shed!

It wasn't too long before OTL had it all set up and was waving the pressure washer and scrubbing the roof!

Holly and I decided that the best place was the bedroom window 'cos we could see what OTL was doing and of course we could tell him if he missed a bit!

It was funny when he was washing the soap off and and the water jet hit the handles and threw the water directly back at him!

OTL was getting wet and soggy!

Well, we sat there for ages, pointing out the missed bits and then suggested how he could do it quicker and cleaner if he did it the way we suggested.

OTL didn't seem to appreciate our suggestions and he did suggest a few things he would do to us if we kept on poking fun at him!

Finally he finished it all and I must say, it does look clean, all we have to do is hope that it stays that way up to when we go off to the Mull of Kintyre!

While we are up there TM is going to a Master Class at a place called Ecclefechan. Now both Holly and I think that Ecclefechan sounded like something nasty the vet would sort out!

Maybe it was something you only get in Scotland, I mean, instead of a 'Good Morning' you could have 'How's your Ecclefechan today?' or, 'I've got a touch of the Ecclefechans!'

When we get there we'll let you know what's it like!

We are off to see what's for dinner!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Getting ready for some serious action!

Hello Woofers!

It's Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here again!

OK, sorry, no pictures today 'cos we have all been very busy running around like blue tailed flies!

Eric and May came out for a walk first thing this morning but it was a little windy and just a teeny bit cold!

Not that it worried Eric too much but May did ask for a carry a couple of times!

Lunchtime it was Wendy who came out leaving Freddy de Snooze curled up in the cuddle cup bed!

The weather hadn't changed, it was still windy and just a little cold.

However......................

We have a wildlife pond in our garden that contains loads of insects and stuff that has arrived there by natural selection, with the exception of the frogs wot arrived in a plastic jug via Auntie Helen!

OTL got some aquatic plants to decorate the pond rim but all the rest is mother nature, including the three feet of rotting leaf mould from the tree in the garden.

Everything was going well and the plants got on with each other while the insects ate each other, as they do!

OTL does nothing other than top up the water level when the sun burns off the water during the hot weather.

Last year there appeared a strange looking plant that quickly took over the pond, killing off several of the plants and blocking the light from getting to the established plants. It played hell with the water snails and wiped out the plant that was supposed to make the water all clean and oxygenated! After it had made a really determined effort to take over not only the pond but all the surrounding areas, OTL decided it wasn't playing fair and started to dig it all up!

This year it has started to grow again!

Can't it take a hint?

So, armed with a sharp trowel, OTL set about digging up whatever new shoot stuck it's stalk and leaves above ground level and as much of the root as he could find!

Yesterday he decided that he was fighting a loosing battle and cold steel with a sharpy pointed end was not having the desired impression!

OTL has decided to 'Nuke' the unwelcome visitor that arrived in our garden via a lump of bird poo!

He has ordered up some syringes and a litre of commercial grade plant killer!

The plan is to let the stalk push its head up far enough so that OTL can stab it with a syringe full of Nasty Plant Nuking Fluid and that will kill off the roots and the stalk!

The best bit is it can be used around animals and sort of dies when it gets in contact with the earth!

If all goes to plan we should be rid of this foreign plant this year!

Well, that's the plan anyway!

All OTL has to do is sharpen the end of the needle if it won't go into the stalk but as he has loads of tools I'm sure that will be no problem!

So, that's what has been happening today!

We are all exhausted and are planning an early night, after a few nibbles of course!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!
