Do Ferrets Hibernate?

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Now, you know we haven't taken the ferrets out for some time on account that it has been too wet, too cold, too dark and too snowy?

Well today Eric and Miss May asked if they could come out with us at the lunchtime walk?

Old Two Legs said that he would see what the weather was going to be at lunchtime and let them know.

Freddy and Wendy said that they would pass on the walk and instead stay in bed where it was warm and snugly!

This morning we were up early 'cos The Missus was off to one of her Master Classes and she always gets up early for that and of course, wakes everyone else up at the same time!

Down on the Sea Wall OTL was waiting for the sunrise but it really didn't happen, too much cloud!

Mr Sunshine is hiding behind the cloud!
Not exactly the best sunrise, but different!

OTL was using his 24-85mm lens that is given away with the camera when you buy it at the shop and it really is a bit of a 'Cheap' thing that doesn't perform like some of his other lenses.

He has decided to change it for tomorrow, but today, he will carry on using it, just to remind himself of what it performs like!

We spotted some Black Headed Gulls on the breakwater trying to look all threatening like.

Some hope!

Do you remember Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds?
Lunchtime, good as his word, OTL woke Eric and May from their slumbers!

It was fun watching them enjoying the sniffs. Miss May was more enthusiastic than Eric, but that's not unusual!

I sniff Mouses and Shrew!
It took a little while for Eric to join in the fun but by the time we had got to the mole hills he was well up for a Mole Hunt!

Miss May was digging like mad, the earth was flying all over the place and Eric was joining in the digging as well!

There is nothing so wonderful as digging for Moles!
Of course, by the time they had got near to the Mole Hole, the mole had disappeared back down the tunnel and was making his lunchtime snack of Worm on Toast!

We had a relaxing afternoon watching some TV and enjoying a big bowl of chicken, followed by a Teeth Cleaning Chew that went down a treat!

OTL plans to watch the England, France rugby match later so he will be jumping up and down!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

  1. Yo maties, sounds like you've had a fun day down there by the seaside. Loved OTL's pictures, even the one with the free thingy is good. I can understand Wendy and Freddy deciding to stay in for a snuggly snooze. May and Eric do look like they're enjoying their dig. I bet them birds got cold butts sitting on them posts. Now I've had a fun day as well. Mrs Marianne came to fling some glue with my mum. My mum was saying wot a good boy I was being until this afternoon, I decided I'd do a swap with Mrs Marianne and I gave her my new teddy wot I got for xmas and exchange for her phone. Do you know she didn't want my teddy and she wouldn't let me keep her phone. I even gave her leg a cuddle to try to persuade her wot a good swap it was but she wouldn't swap. I'm a bit tired now cos I've been very good at clearing up stray bits of card and little bags and other treasures wot I've found and no I didn't pinch the pen that my mum and Mrs Marianne found me trying to chew and I didn't pinch something crunchy wot I swallowed before they could rob me of it and I didn't pinch any of the other things they kept taking off me, I was being mugged for all the treasures I found. I'm off for an early night tonight cos I'm on guard duty in the morning. Pleased to hear you got some decent scoff. Glad that Mrs TM managed to get to her masterclass this week after the snow last week. My mum is looking forward to seeing wot everyone made. Have a lovely evening all with plenty of muggings and mind OTL don't jump up and down and crack the floor. Oooooohhhh must tell you, I seen a frog last night in the garden so it looks like they've woken up at last. Love, licks, wags and sniffs from little Arch and the Nippers xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  2. Having heard now about the Rugby score I think OTL was jumping down and down and not up and down. It looks like you took two very dirty ferrets home with you as it didn't look very dry. Pity the sun wasn't playing ball today but maybe tomorrow OTL will have better luck with his sun rise. TM was having a happy day with her early start and the yakking, eating and sploshing that she did! Still sounds like this afternoon was a great time for the three of you, whilst the cats any the mice will play, have you heard of that saying? This afternoon there was a programmme asking who was "Best", a cat or a dog, the cat saw better in the dark but its sence of smell was far superior. They set various tests on hearing, finding their way, sniffing out a man whilst sniffing the T-shirt he worn the day before, he went on a long walk through the streets and the dog didn't fall for any tricks.
I enjoyed reading about your day but what about young Archie, didn't he try to get up to mischief, imagine if he lived with you, you would have nothing to call your own!!!!! xxxxxx
