It's here, Horizontal Rain!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret back with you again!

Well, it looks like winter time is beginning, we could tell that by the wind and rain that has arrived today!

We were out at our normal time this morning and the wind was blowing in off the sea, so that means it is an easterly wind. Eric was dug out of his nice warm ferret bag and placed on the ground so he cold have a run.

He ran.

Straight up Old Two Legs leg and into the ferret bag!

Holly and I got involved with a sniff and didn't realise the wind was coming around the bushes and just a couple of steps took us from 'Not too Bad' to 'Woofin Heck that's Chilly!'

Even though it was dark, we decided not to hang about and were quick to head back to the car.

Holly was the first to go and we both got back to the car before OTL had crossed the field!

That's, I'm off back to the car!
It was good to get back and we were soon wrapped up in a blanket and snoozing!

Now, OTL has been preparing the ferrets getting them ready for this weekends Ferret Show.

Just in case you have forgotten, it is being run by the Harrietsham Ferret Rescue.

There will be a super raffle and 'Ferret Fun' contests, also there is 'The Best Decorated Cage' and the Fluffiest Ferret and, well just loads of fun!

Best of all, there is no entrance charge and you will be able to buy more raffle tickets with the money you have saved by not paying an entrance fee!

So, this Saturday we will be all done up in our finest bib and tucker to look our best.

OTL has been trimming the ferrets claws and has been checking the ferrets ears for any sign of wax. The judges just love clean ears!

Miss Wendy has a habit of sometimes dipping her tail in her poo so has to get a 'Bum Wipe' before going for judging!

It will be Eric and Monty's first Ferret Show and they may also meet up with some old mates from their time at the Ferret Rescue!

Lunchtime came and off we went with both Wendy and Monty this time. It was the same as this morning, stop for a sniff and then take two steps back and.......

Hey! The wind is over here!
Monty and Wendy were dug out of the bag for a run but as soon as they caught the wind, it was straight up OTL's leg and back in the bag!

So much for the exercise!

When we got to the top of the hill we could see the rain heading our way, so, that was it, the quickest wee we had done today and back to the car.

Here comes the horizontal rain!
By the time we had got back to the car the rain was cleaning the car while Holly and I hid around the other side of the car to the wind!

Back home and into our beds under OTL's desk!

If we are lucky, we should be getting chicken tonight!

Claws crossed!

I think I'll head down and see what's cooking!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret.

  1. Yo maties. Well it's been a very chilly day here today and we had some heavy rain at times as well, luckily, I managed to miss the rain, well you know me, I put my nose out the door, if I sniff a drip then I'm back in before the drip can land. I've spent lots of time snuggled up, either with my boy while my mum was at work, then with her, then back with my boy when she went back to work and now I'm going to snuggle up to her again in a minute. You can't beat a good snuggle under a nice warm fleece can you. Now if I was a judge, all your ferrets would get first prize in every category. I'd even vote for you and Holly chops in the biggest ferret class. Did Mrs TM recognise OTL when she got home last night, with his new hair cut? A bowl of chicken at the end of a chilly day sounds just the job to me. Hope you all have a lovely snuggly evening with plenty of scoff. If the weather isn't too good tomorrow, climb up OTL's leg and tell him you'd sooner stay in bed in the warm. Love, licks, wags and sniffs from little Arch and the Nippers xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  2. So it was cold, windy and rainy, thank you for that because I haven’t been out of the door today and I needed to know, did I not sure about that. The little ones are getting their exercise running up OTLs leg, good job he is tall or it would have cut down their run. Tomorrow I am out to dinner at lunchtime an early Christmas I suppose but Michael has Trevor coming to lunch so he won’t be home alone ahhhh!
All noted about timings for Saturday I was wondering what time it started, we will be having our lunch there and if we manage to win some fun ferret stuff we know who to give it to. Looking forward to seeing you all, Margaret doesn’t know anything about ferrets but she loves woofers so you and Holly are bound to get a fuss. xxxxxx
