Little Miss May has been suffering from Insulinoma for some time now and we have been amazed at how she has put up such a fight.
We thought that she was leaving us last Christmas but she pulled around and even put on some weight with the help of Old Two Legs and a few packs of convalescence powder and a steady supply of Prednisolone which is a steroid medication.
One of the side effects of Insulinoma is fits which May was suffering from with greater regularity.
Today she had a bad series of fits which were upsetting for her as well as painful.
OTL decided that it was time she had a rest from these attacks and telephoned the vet.
Miss May has always been a brave, brave ferret. She would walk beside her sister, Miss April, supporting her on her shoulder if she got tired after coming to the end of her morning walk.
She was always there to cuddle April after the morning rampage and was there by her side when April passed away on the way back from her last morning walk.
When she met Eric for the first time she chased him around the cage something terrible.
After a while she settled down with him and they both enjoyed a happy and loving relationship.
As much as we wanted May to remain with us OTL felt that to keep her with us was not in her interest.
So, we have let her go ahead of us and she is now sleeping in the garden urn where her sister and all the other ferrets are sleeping.

Oh little maties, wot can we say, we're so very sorry to hear the very sad news again today. Little Miss May was a feisty little trouper who fought for her sister and for herself. She gave Eric a run for his money before she fell for his charms and then became his best friend. We know OTL and Mrs TM wouldn't let her suffer after all her bravery and it must have been doubly hard to say good bye to her after the battle she put up and coming so soon after little Monty going. Our hearts go out to you all, we hope that Wendy and Eric don't get too upset over losing their beloved companions. It's particularly hard because we know just how much you all love each other and how much care you all give each other. Lovely picture of Miss May and Miss April. Good bye little May, rest in peace as you join the other beautiful furries who have made our lives richer for knowing you all. For those of you left behind, be comforted in knowing that Godwin Towers is the best place to live and be loved. Love from little Arch, Alfie lodger (he goes home tomorrow) the Nippers, my mum and my boy. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
