The Weekend is Here!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here again!

It was not so chilly this morning when we went out for our morning constitutional, it was almost warm! Mind you, there was a breeze blowing which stopped us taking off our warm harnesses!

No, I think I'll leave mine on thank you!
Mind you, we looked across the mud flats and there were loads of birds paddling in the muddy pools looking for breakfast!

You know it's the devil's own trouble getting served here, it's just too popular!
Over the last few days we have been finding a brand new moth on the walls or ceiling and Old Two Legs has been spending time looking in his books trying to find it, with no luck.

The Missus whips up her phone, gets onto the Internetty Thing and comes back with....'Looks like a Box Moth'!

So, with that lead, off goes OTL and sure enough he finds that this Box Moth, Cydalima perspectalis,  was first found in the South East back in 2007 and lives and feeds in the Box Tree Plant, a sort of small dense hedge.

Just like the one next door neighbour has surrounding her garden!

Bet you not seen one like me before!
According to information on the Internetty, the moth has been found as far north as Scotland, but they don't say wot part of Scotland!

The wings are a cream colour with brown edging all the way around and in the breeding season they have a fluffy tail!

Strange!

They seem to have originated from East Asia and slowly spread across Europe and now have landed in the UK!

We suffered from an algae in the pond, nasty green slimy stuff that looked horrid. OTL spent a long time raking it out with his hands but today we noticed it had all gone! Let's hope it stays away cos it looks Yuk!

Walking through the trees you can see the leaves changing colour and the oak have all dropped their leaves already!
Here comes Autumn!
Tomorrow TM is off to the village hall for some more glue slapping and dancing around with baskets of glitter!

OTL has got to dig out the spare bathroom tiles and do some serious engineering!

Us woofers are looking forward to a good rest while he works his tail off!

Poor Lad!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret!

  2. Yo maties. Well here I am again having a read and finding out wot you've been up to today. Now firstly, shouldn't that box moth be on the hedge wot your neighbour has got in her garden and not in your house. Secondly, my mum reckons we've got algae in our pond but she doesn't fancy putting her arms in and scraping it out, so she's trying to think of wot she can do to get rid of it. Smashing pictures again today. Now I hope OTL doesn't disturb your snooze when he's doing the tiling tomorrow. I bet Mrs TM is looking forward to her glitter and glue flinging and I bet the ladies are glad to see her back. It's been another chilly day, we had a shower this morning but it's been dry since then. Do you realise at the end of this month we get an extra hour in bed, I think I like this month. Me and my mum have been a bit tired today so we're having an early night and we've got to get up early tomorrow but then we can have a nice lay in on Sunday so roll on Saturday night so we can snooze as long as we want. Have a lovely evening all and hope there are some tasty treats. Love, licks, wags and sniffs from little Arch and the Nippers xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  3. Sounds like the weekend is all sorted both are getting stuck into glueing but TM is going to be more adventurous with her art. That box moth is very different, I wonder how many there are in surrounding gardens, very pretty and a gold star for TM with her detective work. It has been quite cosy in the sunshine and we considering having our fried marmalade sandwich breakfast al fresco but maybe not, then a walk on the beach to see if there are any woofers like you. xxxxxx
