Winter is on its way!

 Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here again!

Now, you know how certain things happen that signify a change or the arrival of a season or even an event? Like Whizz Bangs going off midd August which tells you Guy Forks Night is coming soon. Well when winter is coming we get frosts and chilly winds and shivers down the spine, another early sign is the automatic central heating. Today, Old Two Legs got up and headed for the shower and as he passed the towel rail he touched it only to find it was hot, very hot!

Now, that only comes on at a temperature OTL has set on the thermostat as 'Cold'!

So, there it was, a towel rail gently roasting a couple of towels and OTL sobbing cos the price of keeping warm has gone up!

This morning it rained but it was before we went out for our walk. By the time we got out it was wet but not raining. Great! No problems except that the grass was wet and young Eric, having very short legs and a tummy that is held close to the ground, managed to get a soaking wet tummy!

Now, young Eric has worked out that if the grass is wet or cold, all he has to do is climb up OTL's leg until OTL bends down and lets Eric climb onto his warm, dry jacket. That is until his tummy gets dried on the arm of OTL's jacket, whereupon he struggles to get down again and walks along until his tummy gets wet again and off we go again, Daddy I want a Carry!

I must admit, lunchtime walk was a little boring, only one woofer we haven't seen for some time and it was just a quick sniff and off we go!

Mind you, there were some interesting sniffs around the poo bin!

You will never guess what this is!

One of the interesting things about the forrest walk is the stuff that has been buried over the years. Take today, we have passed this spot for over ten years and today we scratched the surface and this honking great sniff just jumped out of the ground!

I mean, it nearly blew my ears off!

Hey Sis! Just get a load of this one!

I had a really good scratch at the ground and it was getting stronger the deeper I dug. Well, Holly walked back and had a sniff and a scratch and another sniff and another scratch and it was then that OTL saw what we were doing and told us to 'Leave it Alone'!

That's the trouble with OTL, he just don't appreciate a good sniff!

We all sat down this afternoon to watch the F1 Racing and to be honest, it was a fast race but just a little boring. I mean, the start was exciting for the first few corners then some overtaking a bit later on but I must admit, I have seen better.

The next race is in Italy, so we are expecting a little more excitement!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

  1. Yo maties. Well we've had quite a good day weatherwise, not too warm but not too cold and it's been dry. I went for my walk this morning and didn't see anyone, not 4 paws or TL's NO one. That huge great puddle is still up the road, it doesn't appear to want to go away. We've had a nice quiet day all 3 of us. Now when I go to bed with my mum I usually snuggle up for a cuddle and then I get a bit too warm so I move down the bed for a cooler spot until I want to be warmed up again. Well last night, my boy needed to have a word with my mum about something and there I was down the bottom end of the bed, well when he came in I ran to the top of the bed to snuggle right up close to my mum in case he thought he was going to snuggle, well he and my mum were laughing and do you know wot my boy did? Well, he had the cheek to move me down the bottom of the bed, well I shot up the top again and got in my place next to MY mum, cos it is MY mum. Well he moved me again, I got quite cross with him, how dare he try and move into my space next to MY mum. I didn't forgive him until he gave me a biscuit at lunch time, that'll teach him to try and get between me and MY mum. Smashing pictures today, I must admit when I find a decent sniff, I always find that if you scratch it, it's much better for getting on round your neck and shoulder. Now I read a thing on the internetty wot said about how important it is for us woofers to have sniffs, even more important than a long walk, you see it's the sniffs wot we need to find to make our walks interesting and make us use our brains..... I showed it to my mum, if I find it again I'll let you know where it is and you can show OTL and let him know how important sniffs are and he shouldn't make you come away from a sniff. We watched Mrs TM and her video today, we do like watching. Now maybe OTL should invest in a little coat for Eric with a waterproof bit wot goes under his tummy then it wouldn't get wet. My mum and my boy are both at work tomorrow so that means no lay in for me. Tell OTL to be careful of the towel rail, he wouldn't like to burn any important little places. Take care all and have a good evening. Love, licks, wags and sniffs from little Arch and the Nippers. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
