We're Back!

 Hello Woofers!

It's Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here, back from the wilds of Scotland!

Sorry we didn't do any blogs but Old Two Legs didn't take the laptop with us, he said something about wanting rest from work!

Him? Work hard? That'll be the day!

Mind you, the drive was as normal, boring, I mean, once you have blown raspberries at a few truckers and had a shouting match with the ferrets, there’s not much you can do except look forward to the next 'wee and a poo stop'!

As normal, the first stop in Gretna Green got us some time for a little shopping and a sniff along the 'dog walking area' which is just a strip of grass alongside the road!

Still, after the trip it was a case of 'Anywhere will do'!

Next day we finally got to Carradale and while OTL was getting booked in, The Missus, Holly and I went down to see the beach for the first time!

Let off the lead, Holly and I were jumping around and paddling, weeing and sniffing!

We're Back again!

Once being 'Booked in' OTL set about installing the caravan while Holly and I took another look around the place. Things have changed a little since last year. For a start the river has altered the sand bar pilling up loads of sand where before it was just flat beach!

Well, at least the boats are still here!

All alone the beach we found some large logs that had washed up over Wintertime and no doubt will provide some material for a beach fire to sit around later!

This looks like it could even be a stranded giant fish!

One thing that OTL is good at is setting up the caravan, then there is installing the awning so that the hedgehogs and rabbits can’t get in and eat up all TM's glue and glitter stuff!

You can see just how close to the beach we are!

We have this caravanning sorted, just a few steps from the beach and late at night we have our last wee of the day in the grass which is just across the pathway from the van!

Sorted or wot?

We spent lots of time on the beach, sniffing and digging holes and one day we went off to see a statue someone had planted in the rocks!

Close to the statue was this Scottish type of fortified house, I suppose it's OK for Scotland but wouldn't look right in North Kent even with that satellite dish!

The Wee Hoose by the Sea!

Just a bit further on from the 'Hoose' you could see the statue on the rocks but OTL said there was no way he was going to walk out there cos it was just too deep!

Statue by Antony Gormley looking at the ships!

OTL spent some time playing with his 'Tilt/Shift' lens trying to get the foreground and distance to be in focus. Then he decided to throw rocks into the water just before the shutter went off!

Oi! It's behind you!

Then he moved around a bit, OTL, not the statue and got a bit more foreground in the shot!

If he stays any longer he will get wet feet!

One of the fun things was meeting up with other woofers on the beach. Both Holly and I would lead the other woofers away on the beach while the Two Legs would call them to follow in the opposite direction!

Of course, the woofers thought that it was a great idea but, in the end, it got them in trouble, the woofers, not us!

There's an even better sniff down here close to the water!

Hey! Look! There is a giant crab here!

Just for once I wasn't joking and there, looking all tough and mean was this crab that had lost it's way and kept trying to walk back up the beach!

One soppy crab going the wrong way!

It was great fun swimming in the river when the tide was in, for a start it wasn't salty! In the middle it was deep so I could get wet all over!

Here comes the deep bit!

Although Holly didn't go in swimming or even deep paddling, she did enjoy a roll on the warm sand and of course, being on holiday OTL didn't tell us off when we got together for a good roll!

This is how it's done!

The trees close to the beach all seem to have lost their leaves!

It seems that all the plants close to the ground were growing but anything above a foot and a half got wiped out!

I'm only one foot four, so I'm safe!

All this beach running and stuff would wear us out and once back to the caravan Holly would settle down to listening to some of her Hard Rock recordings on OTL's iPad!

Boom, Boom, Crash, Boom!

That was all OK until TM wanted her headphones back. Well, that's what TM calls them but Holly says that all the 'Professionals call them 'Cans'!

Wicked Man, Just Wicked!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

  1. Yo maties. Well I'm glad to see you back again, I did miss you all. Now I heard a rumour that you and Holly and Mrs TM had your holiday at Thurrock services .... well that was the last thing I remember my mum telling my boy anyway, seems OTL dropped you off and went back home. Smashing pictures, you know which ones are my favourites. Not a lot has happened here while you were all away but next week, it seems, Alfie puggle is coming to stay again for a week. Now Alfie's mum has bought him a buggy, now it better not come here cos I'm not losing all my street cred walking alongside a woofer in a buggy, I mean how embarrassing. I've been to visit Brenda and Milly while you were away and had a nice couple of hours at her house while Brenda and my mum were gassing. Anyways, I'm glad you all had a good time and are back safe and sound. Take care and stay safe and have a good evening all. Love, licks, wags and sniffs from little Arch and the others. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
