More Doggy Lessons for Butch!

Hey! Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr 'Butch' Brambles back again!

Y'all know Brambles is trying to be a Dog, well, it's not working very well!

Seems like he really only starts being Dog when he has his nose in the food bowl!

Take this morning, now,  y'all know that dogs like to be stroked by Two Legs and tickled up behind the ears. Well, up comes this TL and says 'Hello Mr Brambles' and then proceeds to stick her leather gloved finger in his face to give him a stroke on his forehead.

Normal thing to do for a 'Doggy Contact', but Butch didn't see it like that!

He took one look at this Big Black Monster Worm heading his way, so he bit it!

Maybe a lesson learnt for the TL but a 'Black Mark' for Butch!

It didn't help when he started a-hootin' and a-hollerin and saying that 'Next Time it's all Yer Finger!'

Next Time!
While we were on the beach Bryn, Max and Oscar came past, Max and Oscar had their coats on 'cos they had just had their hair cut.

Butch took one look at them and said that there was no way was he going to wear one of those, absolutely no way!

It's all the Rage darling!
Butch looked rather concerned that he may have to wear a coat and he kept quiet and kept looking at Old Two Legs out of the corner of his eye, just in case OTL should produce a coat from out of his pocket!

Half way up the grass path Butch suddenly stopped and sniffed, 'Mouses!' he said and then stuck his nose into the long grass.

Pssst! Mouses!
Snowflake stopped and gave the air a sniff, Mouses or Rats?

Could be Rats.
The pair of them started hunting around in the grass looking for these rodents. We of course were just a little bored, I mean, we just don't do Mouses, that is for Pussy Cats and Owls!

I think he should stay a Ferret if he is going to behave like this!
Back home we tucked into some nice warm chicken and then headed for the cushion in OTL's office.

Both ferrets were having a game of 'Chase' all over the house while OTL did the 'Poo Shoveling' !

When he had finished he went looking for them and guess where they were?

Y'know, it ain't too bad!

OTL chased them both back up stairs and into their cage and they both had a slurp of Ferretone before getting into bed for their snooze!

Come lunch time we called out to Butch that it was time for our walk and he should get up and get his harness on!

'Butch' told us to 'Woof Off' 'cos he was warm and comfortable and cuddled up to Snowflake and he didn't want to go walking along the beach in this cold weather!

When we told him it was very 'Un Dog Like' to refuse a walk he mumbles that being a dog had its draw backs!

Down on the beach we met up with a Brent Goose who was having a little paddle.

Afternoon girls!
Holly said that if we did a quick sprint we may be able to find out what goose tasted like but I was too interested in a sniff to bother!

Don't even think about it!
Next we spotted Mr Corvid on a post and before Holly could say anything, he turned around and looked at Holly and said...........

Well, that put paid to any feathered nibbles!

I found some rabbit fur that had been dropped by one of the foxes and for some reason both Holly and OTL were laughing at me!

Holly said that I looked like an old Southern Gentlemen with my beard!

Wot Beard?

Now, have you noticed that I have shoved a few 'Southern American' words in this blog? Well, young Sandy is moving to Florida soon and that's in the Deep South and she has got to start learning to speak like the locals.

So, I've been studying the Wikipedia pages on Southern American Language!

So, Bye Bye for now and Y'all come back real soon!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr 'Butch' Brambles!

Stinker Butch?

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr 'Butch' Brambles!

Well, what a day!

We got up early this morning and had a look at the comments on yesterdays blog.

Mr Brambles a stinker? Never has he been known to cracked one off! He is a well behaved, (sometimes) gentle ferret with impeccable manners!

Mind you, we did have a lost ferret here once, her name was Twinkle, and she let off a few 'Crackers' whilst she was here, made every ones eyes water!

Now, Butch says that he might just own up to being a little bit of a 'Tea Leaf' but that is in his DNA and he can't help that, all dogs are opportunists!

He says that he has never tried mouse, does it taste like chicken?

Do they do Mouse Tasting Biscuits?
Butch was a bit worried this morning about the size of the Doggy Drinking Bowl, he didn't know if he had to drink it or swim in it!

Swim or drink, Drink or swim?
On the way down to the beach we met up with that Big Bouncing Bozo again but this time he didn't come bounding over to us, instead he sat down and called out to us............'You got those Ferrets there?'

Miss Snowflake stayed curled up at the bottom of the bag but 'Butch' stuck his head out and said that he should come over and see!

I ain't going anywhere near ferrets again!
Miss Snowflake stuck her head up and asked if he tasted like Mouse? And, could she have another nibble of his nose, just to check!

That was it, he was off like a rocket!

On the beach, Mrs Corvid was bashing away at a Winkle shell and said that sometimes she just didn't think it was worth all the effort!

I think I'll go back to carrion!
Down on the beach, instead of having a wee behind the rocks, as normal, Butch tried cocking his leg, like a real dog does.

He fell over onto his back, on top of the wet sea weed!

Miss Snowflake was so terribly embarrassed and stood there shaking her head!

Oh No! He can be SO Embarrassing sometimes!
Back home, we all had a chase around the house and Snowflake said that she was going to make a card today, but not with the Glue & Glitter, instead she would use the 'Bleeding Tissue' method that The Missus was teaching at her Master Classes.

That was if she could keep Butch from swimming around in the drinking bowl!

I think I'll make a card today!
Old Two Legs has been peeking into the bird box, there is a camera in there and we can see what the birds are doing. Well, the sparrows have started to build their nest for this year and there is new bits of grass all over the place.

The male sparrow is the one who it seems has taken charge of nest building and spends lots of time pushing and shoving the grass around and in and out. We just hope that he doesn't cover the lens like he did last year!

See you all tomorrow!

Brambles tries to be a Woofer!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr 'Butch' Brambles!

You know what? He has been at it again! That sneaky Brambles was caught raiding our food bowls again. This time he had both front paws in the bowl and tipping it up so he could get right inside!

You know, these are really tasty!
Holly stuck her head in, just to check he wasn't eating the chicken but he was too busy chomping away on the Chicken Biscuits!

I have decided that I'm going to be a Dog, especially if I can eat this stuff!
That was it, Mr Brambles has now become a Dog. He has always been a 'Woofer' 'cos he is one of our family but now he wants to become a Dog!

Holly and I had a bet on how long it would last. Holly said it would last until he got fed up with our Doggy Biscuit!

We headed out for our morning walk and when we got to the car park, Old Two Legs let us out then opened the ferret travel cage.

Mr Brambles stuck his head out, said 'Woof' and then asked it there were any cats around he could chase!

OK, where are the cats?
Brambles then told us that in future he was to be called 'Butch' 'cos that is what a serious dog should be called!

'OK', we said, come on Butch, let's find some sniffs!

Butch said that he would stay with Miss Snowflake to keep her safe in the Ferret Bag until we came across a good 'Doggy Sniff'!

Come on Butch, there's a really good sniff here!
'Butch' stuck his head out and asked OTL to put him down. Over he ran and had a sniff, then he fell over onto his back, 'Pheeew! Wot A Stink!' he said and rushed back to OTL to be put back in the bag!

Mmm! says Holly, 'I think we may have lost a Doggy!

Down on the beach 'Butch' was acting more like a ferret now, running backwards, cuddling Snowflake and asking OTL for a cuddle!

Miss Snowflake said that it was good to have her Ferret Mate back 'cos she didn't fancy snuggling up to a Dog for the rest of the day!

I'm staying a Ferret thank you!
Miss Holly saw a strange new thing on The Sea Wall, it was a load of rocks!

I bet it was a shower of Meteorites says Holly, she knows these things does Holly Dog!

Mmmm! Meteorites!
OTL said that he thinks that someone has dragged some of the rocks from the rock pools, up the side of the sea wall. Holly on the other paw says that they come from Outer Space!

Back home we all did our duties, us eating breakfast and OTL shoveling ferret poo!

He gets all the best jobs!

We had some stuff to deliver so Holly and I got to sit in the front seat of the Big Car!

On the way back we stopped off at The New Park! We haven't been there for a while and it was great to catch up on the 'Sniffs'!

There were a couple of Woofers who were a bit 'Yappy' made so much noise that Holly had to give them a 'Woofers Growl' which is Doggy Speak for 'Shut The Woof Up!'

That's better! We don't do loud!
Further on we came across a couple of young heifers who told us that they had been told that they mustn't talk to woofers!

We don't Do Dogs!
We met up with a load of woofers out there in the park and I was getting a bit tired of being chased around!

Quick, pick me up!
Back home we enjoyed a good snooze after finishing off the chicken and Holly asked if we should take some of our biscuits up to 'Butch' but in the end we decided it might look as though we were making fun of him!

Us? Make fun of 'Butch'? Never!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr 'Butch' Brambles!

Brambles is getting a taste for Doggy Biscuits!

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles!

You know, life can get so exciting here in North Kent! Take today for example. It started when we got down to The Beach.

First of all Mr Brambles fell into the rock pool and got his paws and tail all wet!

He looked all bedraggled and so sad that Snowflake gave him a cuddle and even Old Two Legs picked him up to dry off his paws!

I really do need a cuddle!
While the ferrets were messing about in the rock pools, Holly and I were playing 'Bookends'.

This is a game where we both sit very still, looking at each other and the first one to move looses!

Sometimes I fall asleep playing this game!
We were heading back along the top path when the Big Bozo Doodle Dog was spotted further down the path. He is a Very Big Woofer who is just six months old, full of bounce and absolutely no manners!

The Two Legs who was with him couldn't control him and he bounded off down the path towards us!

I Legged it onto the lower path leaving Holly, the Ferrets and OTL to sort it all out!

The speed of the Bozo''s approach meant that OTL didn't have time to pick up the ferrets so he decided to 'Sort The Bozo Out'!

As Bozo arrived OTL grabbed him by the harness and held him next to OTL's leg, the ferrets came closer to see what it was and the Bozo shoved his nose down and into Miss Snowflakes face.

Not the most sensible thing to do!

Miss Snowflake did what any ferret would do when confronted by a 'Big Bounding Bozo'

She gave him a nip on his nose!

The Bozo jumped back three feet and stood there wondering what had happened!

By then the owner had arrived on the scene and grabbed the lead and harness and wrestled the Bozo away!

That sorted him out!

I was still down on the lower path, I'm not stupid!

Back home there was Lambs Heart ready and waiting for us but Holly and I decided to leave it for a while and have a snooze first.

That was our mistake!

While Holly and I enjoyed a snooze, OTL cleaned out the ferrets quarters and the ferrets went 'On The Rampage'!

Both ferrets headed down stairs and chased around for a while, until OTL came hunting for them.

Yes, you have guessed, they were in the kitchen pinching our biscuits!

I was only looking, Honest!
Mr Brambles was tucking in and having a great time chomping away and he said that the biscuits were so tasty that he was thinking about becoming a Dog!

I could easily convert to Dog!
I think he may have trouble being a dog 'cos he doesn't like the doggy sniffs we do!

OTL sorted both ferrets out and soon they were back in their house and in no time were fast asleep!

Lunchtime we headed off to the beach again and had a great time. First we had to find a suitable bit of beach.

Fancy a dig here?
Once we had selected a bit of beach it was all go!

First I dug, then Holly dug and then we both had a dig all in the same hole!

Shove over Sis!
It was warm and sunny, in fact it was almost like Spring, blue skies and warm balmy breezes!

Just like Spring!
Back home again for a bit of lunch and then a snooze, well what else are we going to do, work?

OTL was busy 'manufacturing' which we will be delivering tomorrow and with a bit of luck, we'll have a run in a new place!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

P.S. Hello to Sandy over the other side of the pond, lovely to know we reach North Carolina!

Brambles the Tea Leaf!

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles!

Wot a super day today! First of all we got an extra hour in bed this morning, not 'cos the clocks went back but rather The Missus, waking everyone up by getting up at two thirty and stomping around all over the place and as we were just getting back to sleep, back she comes and it feels like she is practising her trampolining on the bed!

So, because of this, we all over slept by an hour! Mind you, it was fun waking up to the sun shining through the window!

The ferrets weren't too happy about us messing about with the time, they said they were an hour late in getting their Lactose Free Milk and an hour late in going out for a walk!

That TM has a lot to answer for!

Mind you, it wasn't so cold today and even the ferrets enjoyed the beach, but not for too long!

Mr Brambles managed to get a lift and a cuddle from Old Two Legs, until they were off the beach and Miss Snowflake just couldn't understand why she had to walk!

OK, What about a lift and a cuddle for me?
We met up with some of the gang and at one point there were so many woofers and Two Legs milling around that OTL had to pick up the ferrets for their own safety, not that they minded that!

Back home we got served up with Posh Doggy Scoff, Holly got her nose stuck into that straight away, especially as it was my bowl she had her nose in!

Holly and I headed off to the bedroom for a snooze while OTL cleaned the ferret house and the ferrets went off for their morning 'Rampage' around the house, just to see what mischief they could get into.

We did note that Mr Brambles turned left out of the office and headed for the stairs, going down to see TM?

Well, after the cleaning up OTL went looking for Mr Brambles and guess where he was?

I'm only counting them, honest!
The little 'Tea Leaf' was chomping away on our biscuits for all he was worth!

I mean, it's not as if he has no food in his own bowl!

Holly says we will need to mount a guard on our food in future, especially when the ferrets are on the Rampage!

Mr Brambles then had a great time chasing Miss Snowflake around, the pair of them were in a great mood, I suppose it was the Doggy Biscuits that did the trick!

Out of my way, She's after me!
By the way, just to let you know, the term 'Tea Leaf' is a sort of rhyming London slang. it means Thief. So, Thief rhymes with Leaf and leaf goes together with Tea. So if you hear someone say that 'He's a right Tea Leaf' they mean He's a Thief!

I hope you had a 'Giraffe' about that!

Work it out!

After a mornings snoozing under OTL's desk we headed off down the beach again. The sun was shining and the cold wind had dropped right the way down, it even felt warm!

There were loads of fishermen down on The Sea Wall throwing worms into the sea. There were so many that we couldn't walk along The Sea Wall, so OTL took us up on the top path.

It was the warmest day for ages and the sun shining made us think that Spring and Summer isn't far off.

Then I can go swimming in the sea again!

Back home and an afternoon snooze before dinner and a good mugging of OTL for his shortbread!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, and the two Tea Leaves, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles!

We've Been Robbed!

Hello Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

You know, there we were, fast asleep, cuddled up to Old Two Legs, all warm and cuddly and looking forward to a nice long lie in 'cos it's Saturday.

Then it happened, the jet powered vacuum cleaner was switched on and someone turned on the TV and all we could hear was the recording of 'Big Mother' blasting up the stairs!

Very slowly we opened our eyes and OTL stopped snoring, then we realised that all this noise was because we had to take The Missus up to the village hall for her Master Class.

Next thing was to wake up the ferrets who said they weren't going anywhere until they finished their Lactose Free Milk!

We got out early for our walk and there was loads of frost on the ground

Loads of Frost!

Being a bit earlier than normal, the light was all very strange and of course, OTL just had to start clicking away with the camera!

Light over Sheerness!
Down on the beach, Miss Snowflake headed out into the sea weed for her 'Morning Wee'.

It's a bit wet!
She didn't hang about and soon was back on the beach joining me in sniffing for sniffs!

We both agreed that sniffs were better in Spring and Summer!

Any good sniffs?
Brambles and Holly were heading back to the car and Holly said it was good that she had her coat. Brambles said he has never tried a coat but he had a super thick coat that trapped the warm air and kept him warm, except of course, when the wind blew from behind!

Well, I'd try a coat if fitted!
Back home we enjoyed a chicken breakfast and was soon back up stairs for a morning snooze.

The ferrets were having a rampage around the house and OTL saw the pair of them heading down the stairs.

While OTL was cleaning the ferret house, the ferrets were strangely quiet, no things falling over, no charging around under the chairs or ferreting through TM's card making stuff!

OTL was getting worried and he went 'Hunting Ferret'!

He found both of them, in the kitchen eating from our doggy bowl!

Now, the bowl was full of a new biscuit that was small enough to be 'Ferret Size' and was made of chicken and brown rice!

Now, Holly and I didn't go a bomb on it but the ferrets said it was great!

Mind you, I do like the Ferret Nibbles and Holly has got a thing about the Ferret Chicken Nibbles!

Lunchtime we were down the beach again and we spotted the Brent Geese swimming off shore  and of course Holly was wondering if they tasted like Duck or Chicken but OTL said that they were Geese and would taste like Goose!

OTL knows what you taste like!
We got mobbed by a noisy little woofer who wanted to stick his nose up my tail and I had to give him the serious 'Woofer Warning'!

That will teach him!
Having got rid of that rude woofer we had a great time on the beach, we played 'Chase The Woofer' with OTL and then Holly and I dug a super big hole!

You missed a bit in the corner!

Back home we had another snooze until OTL had to go up the hall to collect TM and all her stuff.

We kept watch from the bedroom window until we saw the car then rushed down stairs to welcome
TM back!

Let's hope that tomorrow it will be a bit warmer, that wind off the sea can really set your teeth on edge!

Bye bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Three Walks and a North East Wind!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here on a very cold day!

You could tell it was cold, Old Two Legs had to put his hood up over his hat!

Holly said that it was because there was a North East wind blowing in off the sea!

Both ferrets weren't too happy about being out of the Ferret Bag and when I asked Snowflake if she wanted to share a hole I had dug, she told me to 'Keep Over My Side' and all 'cos the sand was flying all over the place!

That's Your Side!
We saw Mrs Corvid trying to break into a limpet shell by flying up high and dropping it onto The Sea Wall. After a while he managed it but said that it was a lot of work for just one little cockle!

OK, Bombs Away!
Holly was nowhere to be seen, she was too cold to hang about and she had legged it back to the car!

The ferrets and I thought it was a very good idea, so we legged it back as well!

Lunchtime we were down The Sea Wall again and were surprised to see a fisherman on the beach. Mind you, he wasn't sitting on the cold wet stones! When we got to where he was you could see that he was cold and Holly reckons that he will be back in his car before we got back!

Too cold to hang around!
After we got to the car we instructed OTL to turn on the heater and in no time we were warm again.

Next stop was the carriers to drop off a parcel and then on to do some deliveries of our own. After that we stopped at the Riverside Park, it was cold there as well!

The wind was blowing in off the estuary and it seemed just as cold as it was on The Sea Wall!

We did see some Quackers and even they looked cold!

Cold Quackers!
We went up to the end of Horrid Hill and as we started to go around the corner we got the full force of the North East Wind!

White Horses on The Sea!
Holly called back to OTL asking if she could go in for a swim!

I think OTL knew she was joking!

Shall we all have a swim?
At the end of Horrid Hill, the wind was blowing the waves into the wall and the water was breaking over the top of the wall. Not big waves but enough to make you wet if you got caught!

Splosh!
On the way back we came up behind an old Two Legs who kept stopping and looking around. Holly said she reckons he has lost his way and was wondering if he should go in for a swim!

Holly can be pretty daft sometimes!

Swim? He hasn't even got his towel with him!
Back home again and off to the cushion under OTL's desk, all lovely and warm, just the thing on a day like today!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

OTL Nearly Looses His Lens Hood!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles!

Well, what a day!

We were up early this morning, not that we wanted to be woken up early, but, The Missus was making so much noise with the jet engined vacuum cleaner it's a wonder how the whole village wasn't up in arms about it!

Down on the beach the ferrets were not too happy about the cold wind blowing and were soon trying to dig holes in the grass to get away from the North Wind!

Mind you, it did blow away the clouds, well, most of them and it also cleared up the air condition so we could see the windmills planted in the sea off Herne Bay!

Loads of Windmills!
On our way down to The Beach, something terrible happened, Old Two Legs was walking along with his camera tucked under his arm while he was struggling to put his gloves on, he managed to drop his Lens Hood!

He didn't know he had dropped it!

Holly and I spotted it on the grass as OTL was marching off ahead of us.

Holly woofed but OTL didn't take any notice and off he went striding along the path. That was until he went to take a picture and he spotted that there was something missing!

Back he went and about five minutes later he appeared with the Lens Hood firmly screwed onto the lens!

Well, are you going to tell him?
We met up with the Curlew in his normal hunting spot, looking for breakfast, as normal!

I think I would like to try Doggy Scoff!
The ferrets were heading for home as quickly as they could, they didn't like the North Wind, just like us!

When we got back who should turn up but Auntie Chris who was visiting to play at some Glue & Glitter slapping with TM!

There was so much stuff flying about that Holly and I headed up stairs to OTL's office and climbed onto our cushions.

Glue & Glitter Slapping is Us!
OTL has been busy today and we had to give him a serious woofing to get him to go for our lunchtime walk. It was great that Auntie Chris came with us as well.

TM stayed at home and said that she was 'Too Busy' to go walkies!

'Too Much Glue Slapping' we called it!

It's Friday tomorrow! The weekend starts then! OTL says that we may go down to the Riverside Park 'cos he has some deliveries to do!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.
