Walking? No, I'm Swimming!

Hi Woofers!

It's us, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Mr Brambles, Miss April and Miss May back again!

What a night last night! We had such fun and didn't get to bed until very late!

OTL was telling stories of when he was young and he and his woofer (Bob) would go for long walks in the fields near his house and chase rabbits and hunt for mice and voles!

Holly showed us a new dance she had made up called 'The Tail Wiggle' then she and OTL danced around the sofa doing The Tail Wiggle which was hilarious 'cos OTL hasn't got a tail so he had to use a dish cloth tucked into his belt!

Holly and I were laughing so much it hurt!

Surprising enough,  we were up early 'cos today we had to take the caravan to the menders for a couple of repairs that OTL couldn't do at home.

Out we went for our walk and got to the beach just as the first few drops of rain started to fall.

I feel rain drops!

 We didn't hang about too long and all of us were heading back to the car.

Just for a change, Brambles wasn't hanging about either, sniffing as normally does, instead he was chasing up the path behind Snowflake telling her to 'Get a Wiggle on'!

Come on Girl, get yer tail in gear!

We got to the car just as the rain started to come down proper like and luckily, OTL had one of our towels in the back so we all got a rub down, including the ferrets, before heading back home.

After clearing up all the mess from last night OTL asked if we wanted to go with him to the caravan menders.

Silly question!

As we headed off the rain really came down in bucket loads, I mean, there were puddles like ponds and ponds like lakes!

When we got there the rain eased off enough for OTL and the man to go into the caravan to talk about the things that needed doing without getting too wet!

We of course stayed in the car, we're not daft!

Back home Holly and I went off for a snooze while OTL got some 'Paperwork' done that he had been putting off for a while. Too much partying!

Lunchtime came and it was still raining, Holly and I had to get dressed up in our rain coats. The Page Three Girls hadn't got any coats and they were complaining that they were going to get wet!

But, we were in luck, when we got out of the car, the rain had stopped!

Mind you, that didn't stop April complaining about getting her paws wet!

She is as bad as Holly!

 OTL picked them both up and went down to the beach where it wasn't so wet and they had some fun showing Holly and me how good they were at hole digging!

This is how you start!

 It seems that Ferrets carefully mark out the edges of the hole very carefully and then.........

Dive in and go like the clappers!

 It was good fun watching them throwing the sand about!

Along the beach we all spotted a large log that had been washed up. Holly and I had a sniff and carried on up the beach. The Girls decided to climb all over the log giving it a good sniff!

Pleeese Daddy, can we take it home?

 The sun came out for a while and Holly said she was getting a bit warm in our coats!

Now I'm too warm!

 Miss May was ferreting around the rock pools and at one point she slide down a rock and landed in the water!

That was fun!

 Back home OTL was busy working so we left him alone and went off to woof at everyone who passed our front door!

The Missus is having fun 'Up North' and making lots of cards and meeting her mates. We haven't heard if she got caught in the rain today but she will phone tonight to find out if OTL is keeping the house clean!

As if!

Sun and then the rain!

Hi Woofers!

It's us, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Mr Brambles, Miss April and Miss May here again!

Well, wot a mix up day, it was super sunny when we went out this morning but when it came time to do the lunchtime walk, down came the rain!

Our morning run was OK, Miss Snowflake even had a little dig in the sand before climbing over the sea weed for her morning wee!

Over there looks good!

 Holly was mooching around on the beach when Old Two Legs told her that there was a woofer coming along the Sea Wall, it was Butch!

Now we all know that Holly fancies him rotten and always dances around him like a Big Tart! 

Yo! Butch Baby!

Today he stopped jumping around and said, 'Why do you call me Butch?' then he added, 'My Name is Bert!'

Holly said sorry for calling him by the wrong name and then went on Tarting about!

The name is Bert, short for Albert!

It was then that the ferrets and I wandered past him, but on the beach, and he looked over at the ferrets and asked if they were Holly's sisters!

Are those your sisters?

Holly had to admit they were but added, 'the brown one is my brother'

It was a good job Brambles didn't hear that or he would have got her to repeat it all the way home!

We looked at Michael's blog and saw he attended a show and met up with the Harrietsham Ferret Rescue who were doing some 'Ferret Racing' at the show! Have a look at Micheal's day out http://michaelgoodes.blogspot.co.uk/

OTL was watching the F1 Racing but for a change, he watched most of the race 'cos the rain was coming down and Holly and I decided that even with rain coats, we didn't fancy going out just yet!

So, just before the race finished, we decided that it was time to go out and OTL, the Page Three Girls, Holly and me went to the field behind the houses and had a run around. Well the ferrets ran and Holly and I chased a cat over a fence and OTL tried to keep order!

We are going to have a party tonight, so OTL is getting the Shortbread out and Holly and I have our 'Biscuit Bones', (which make loads of crumbs!)

We plan to put a couple of Bob Dylan CD's on and some Dog Music, (Howling Wolf) with a bit of luck we may stay up all night!

Visitors and I get Soggy!

Hi Woofers!

It's us, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Mr Brambles, Miss April and Miss May here again!

 I don't know what it has been like where you are but here it has been very hot today!

Even first thing this morning it was warm and getting warmer!

We waved good bye to The Missus as she headed off to Birmingham then Snowflake, Brambles, Holly, me and Old Two Legs headed for the beach!

Miss Snowflake didn't fancy digging holes this morning but had a really good 'Ferret Around' in the long grass!

I don't think it's a Sandy Day!

 Before getting onto the grass path we met up with young Barney II who was out for his morning walk. He doesn't get off the lead much 'cos he goes deaf when the lead is removed and doesn't come back when called!

It's called 'Selective Hearing'!

Lunch time we were out with the Page Three girls but it was a bit too warm for them and OTL had to give them a lift back to the car. Mind you, they did get down for a walk and a sniff but they said it was better being carried!

We were going up the path when we heard a terrible noise coming from out of the sky, OTL took a picture and it proved to be a low flying plane following the shore line.

We got back home and both ferrets crashed out after a drink!

An hour later we got a knock on the door and Tilly and Sassy and Andrea were visiting us!

We went back down to the beach again and there were loads of Two Legs enjoying the sunshine. First of all the tide was coming in and there were three young TL's messing about in the mud and one was even rolling in the mud!

You can imagine what OTL would have said if I did that!

Oh Dear! Wot a mess!

 Then there were a couple of older TL's waiting for the water to get deeper so they can go in swimming!

It will be here soon, trust me!

 Tilly and Sassy found some Sea Weed with a tiny little crab hanging onto the frond end! We reckon it will take a few years before it was big enough to eat!

Sassy put it back into the sea!

 Then we found a small stick and I went in swimming to fetch the stick. Holly stayed on the beach and kept her paws dry!

I ended up a very Soggy Doggy but OTL had a towel in the car, so I got a rub down before we got home. Mind you, I had to stay in the back of the car 'cos no one wanted a soggy doggy on their lap!

 Back home Holly and I looked for a cool place to enjoy a snooze while OTL burns some food!

TM the Lepidopterist!

Hi Woofers!

It's us, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Mr Brambles, Miss April and Miss May here again!

Wot a hot day today! It has been so hot that we considered abandoning our walk and instead staying in the shade!

First thing this morning it was a bit cooler and we were out before it got too hot. We saw a couple of Thames Barges sail past. OTL had the 35mm lens on the camera so had to go 'Artistic' instead of 'Close Up' with a telephoto!

 Miss Snowflake was not in the best mood this morning and wanted to go back to bed but Old Two Legs said that she should get out for a 'Bit of Fresh Air' and promised to pick her up if she needed it. Her poo was inspected and noted that it was a little green, which means she could have an upset tummy!

On the walk she did another poo and that looked OK, according to OTL who knows about ferret poo!

I was a little sad that Snowflake didn't feel well so I got OTL to pick me up for a cuddle!

I felt better and told Snowflake that OTL does a good cuddle! A bit later Snowflake got a cuddle as well and she said it made her feel better as well!

At lunchtime it was very hot and I really missed the water! I did have a little rest on the Sea Weed, just to cool my tummy!

April and May were out and running after OTL as he walked along the path 'cos they still feel a little unsure about the Big Wide World!

OTL is teaching them that when he blows the thingy from a squeaky toy, they can get picked up for a carry!

It's working! 

How many more fences have we got to climb over!

They are put down and allowed to wander off sniffing the sniffs and then OTL blows on the Thingy and they both come scampering up to OTL and then get picked up!

Of course, it would never work with us woofers!

The ferrets said that the walk was tiring and they got thirsty. Lucky for them they found a rock pool with fresh water and were able to have a slurp!

Not only thirsty but this walking thing is wearing my legs away!

 While the ferrets were doing their 'Training' thing, Holly and I found a dead crab on the beach and we took turns in rolling in it, safe in the knowledge that OTL couldn't get to us to make us stop!

Oooooooooh! That feels better!

When we got to the sandy beach both ferrets set about digging a hole, it wasn't very big but for a ferret it was quite deep!

We are going to need ladders soon!

Holly and I said that although it deep if you were a ferret it wasn't up to a 'Woofer Hole', then we set about showing them!

Now, This is a Hole!

Back home again for a snooze but before we could get settled, The Missus told us that she had photographed a Hummingbird Hawk-moth that was feeding on the flowers, and, she had taken some photographs!

TM is getting ready to go off to Birmingham to do some baby sitting for the next week, so that means all us woofers will be able to have parties and eat carrots and not worry about the crumbs and the ferrets can hide our biscuits down the back of the sofa and they have told OTL they will hide some under TM's pillow!

I'm Injured!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Mr Brambles, Miss April and Miss May here again!

Well, what a day it's been today!

We were up late 'cos I got Old Two Legs up in the middle of the night 'cos I wanted a wee!

You know I am amazed that he manages to keep upright and bounce off the walls at the same time!

Down on The Beach we met the lads and young Poppy wanted a game of 'Chase'!

She is a cheeky little thing but she has a sweet little face so we let her chase us up and down the beach!

Play Chase?

Both ferrets said hello to her but didn't hang around 'cos the grass path is more interesting than a woofer, according to Miss Snowflake anyway!

I'm staying here until there is grass under OTL's boots!

 Back home the ferrets were rampaging around the house while OTL did his 'Cleaning' bit. Then, being a little tired Snowflake and Brambles headed for their bed and a morning of snoozing.

Now, Holly and I are used to just two rampaging ferrets and we stay up on the sofa, out of the way, and we watch them running about. Then, after they are back in bed, Holly and I head for our snoozing place.

That was until the Page Three Girls arrived and Holly and I have to stay up longer while May and April charge around and pinch our biscuits and hide them behind the furniture.

Today I forgot!

So, there they were, ferreting about and without thinking, I jumped down off the sofa and headed for the stairs, stopping to have a sniff of an interesting spot at the bottom of the stairs. 

Unknown to me, Miss April sneaked up behind me, had a sniff of my butt, then sunk her fangs into my leg!

How I didn't sink my teeth into her butt I'll never know!

That was it, off I went up to the bed and OTL gave me a cuddle and inspected my leg, just in case it was in danger of falling off!

That ferret had better look out, I may catch her next time and then we'll compare fangs!

Lunchtime I'd almost forgotten it, even though I was still limping terribly!

The Page Three Girls came out with us and they had fun running along the beach and climbing the steps up The Sea Wall.

This is Hard Work!

Miss May said that she was just too tired to do any more running but that was only to get OTL to pick her up for a while!

I need a Carry!

April was doing well climbing up the steps but got a little nervous about the jump down again!

OTL helped her a couple of times and it wasn't long before she was belting around all over the place!

If you think I'm going that way, think again!

Back home it was 'Manufacturing' for OTL and all us woofers spent the afternoon snoozing!

Tomorrow we will be having a run around 'cos OTL has got a load of stuff to deliver and then it's off to the carriers, so somewhere along the road we should bump into the Riverside Park!

Sun Shine and Sand and Digging with Ferrets!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Mr Brambles, Miss April and Miss May here!

What a super day today, loads of sun and some balmy breezes and holes to dig and I show off my latest Pilates position!

First thing this morning Old Two Legs enjoyed his breakfast with Snowflake and Brambles, as normal and he also put a bowl of milk in for May and April.

As soon as they had slurped the milk down, Brambles and Snowflake then set about winding up April and May by climbing on top of the cage and telling April and May that they were highly trained ferrets from the SFS! (Special Ferret Service)!

OTL told them off and they were put into the 'Traveling Box' and had to wait even longer before they went out for their walk!

Down on the beach Holly and I had a great time digging holes and at one point I was so busy selecting a hole digging spot that I didn't see Young Dave creep up behind me!

Holly was showing off by running up and down the beach and getting up such a speed that at times she was flying!

 While Holly was tearing up and down the beach I was doing the latest Pilates Position. This is called 'The Nose Stretch'. It took me a while to get the balance just right 'cos Holly was putting me off by woofing and running past me!

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, Level Nose, Level Thoughts!

 After a while Holly and I returned to digging holes and Brambles tried to muscle in but we weren't letting him share our hole!

Back home we had Lambs Heart and crashed out on the sofa while OTL did the ferret cage and the ferrets took turns in 'Rampaging' around the house!

April and May played their game of 'Hide The Biscuit' but this time they were pinching dog biscuits from the the pile they had built up over the last few days!

Lunchtime it was The Page 3 Girls turn to go out and have a walk along the beach.

The tide was coming in but it wouldn't be deep enough to swim in for at least thirty minutes, so Holly and I set about the holes we started this morning.

Young April wanted to join in the fun but we were not having any of that and told her to Woof Off!

No you can't! Go and play with OTL!

She soon got the message 'cos she ran over to OTL and told him what we had said!

Daddy, they won't let me play with them!

Both ferrets went off to tell OTL and ask to have a cuddle!

Daddy, we need  cuddles!

OTL picked them up but it wasn't long before they were scrabbling to get down so they could have a ferret around in the long grass where there loads of 'ferret sniffs'!

OTL got a telephone call to say that the second bit of the new cage will take about ten days to deliver and it is coming all the way from Italy which OTL says is a long way away!

We have not decided yet what to call the new cage so we are looking for suggestions.

Brambles has suggested we call it Azkaban and should surround it with Floaty Guards to keep the girls under control!

Wot a Wet One!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Mr Brambles, Miss April and Miss May here again!

You can tell the holiday season is here, it's raining!

We managed to get out for our morning walk between the showers!

Before heading out Old Two Legs had breakfast with the ferrets, as he normally does. Brambles and Snowflake have their Lactose Free Milk and OTL has orange juice and rabbit food!

Today, OTL took up a bowl of the milk for May and April, it seems that they love the stuff, nose in and tails up until it's finished!

Snowflake climbed up onto the top of their temporary cage and was pulling faces at them and saying that she would 'Sort them out' if there was any more trouble!

As if!

OK you two, Watch It!

 Down on the beach it had stopped raining for a while and Holly and I had this super idea.............

Fancy digging a hole?

Holly trotted past Brambles and in a loud 'Stage Whisper' said to me, 'Lets dig it here'!





That was it, Brambles was there like a shot and got a face full of sand for his nosiness!

Ere! That went in my eye!

Snowflake, who was still charging around in the sea weed, was all alert in case Brambles got trodden on in the rush to dig our hole!

Oh No! What is he doing now?

Then she rushed over and chased Holly and me out of the hole and then told Brambles to 'Keep Clear'!

This is getting rather deep!

Then she began shovelling the sand using her nose. 'This is the way to get a hole going' she said, 'not all that paw waving stuff!'

You've gotta have a nose for this job!

 Holly said she was talking through her tail and she would show a ferret how to dig!

In she went and started to move sand!

That was until Snowflake blew a raspberry into Holly's ear and made her jump back in shock!

ack home OTL did all his 'Ferret Jobs' and then, after a rampage around the house and pinching our Doggy Biscuits, both ferrets settled down for a snooze, cuddled up together, like wot ferrets should do.

May and April having a cuddle and a 'Quiet Time'!

With May and April the 'Quiet Times' don't last, one of them gives the other a nip and pandemonium beaks out again!

Not so with Brambles and Snowflake, they have learnt that the best snooze is had cuddling each other!

All warm and Cuddly like wot a ferret should be!

Lunchtime we were down the beach again with May and April but the rain was starting, so none of us hung about, a quick wee and back to the car!

We then went off delivering stuff all over the place, and everyone wanted to see the ferrets!

Holly has told the ferrets that 'Fame is a Fickle Thing' and to make the most of it now 'cos it don't last long!

She should know, every one use to want to stroke us but now it's just the ferrets every one wants!

Wot a Mess!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Mr Brambles, Miss April and Miss May here again!

It's going to be a short blog today, you see, the expected last bit to the ferrets home is due in the next couple of days and The Missus and Old Two Legs decided, well TM decided, that there should be some major alteration to OTL's office and TM's store room!

They moved the freezer from OTL's office and located it in the card room. That was the easy bit.

Making a space to move it from one room to the next was the real problem, loads and loads of stuff had to be transferred to other rooms  before the freezer even started its journey!

There was no place for us to sleep during the day and Holly and I were right upset about it all!

Our Page Three Girls took it in their stride 'cos they have had a lot of movement in the last week, so they didn't get too worried, especially when they see what OTL is building for them!

Our walks have been without camera and although Miss May and I got wet from having a dip in the sea, April and Holly Chops stayed very dry, as normal.!

So, bye for now and we'll catch up tomorrow!

Decision Time and OTL is crying again!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Mr Brambles, Miss April and Miss May here again!

Well, it has been difficult over the last few days, after the 'Introductions' at the Rescue Centre. Miss May has taken to nipping Old Two Legs and we are back to the TCP like it was with Snowflake when she first turned up. However, she is getting picked on by Snowflake who has taken to chasing her around the house and attacking her.


OTL, being a bit of a softy, has decided that he will give up on trying to get all the ferrets to live together in one group. So, we are going to have two groups!


Snowflake and Brambles have gone back to cuddling and snoozing in their own cage and April and May have set up home is Aprils cage. April, who is the dominant one still gives her sister a nip now and again, just to let her know who is in charge!

All Agro stops for a Slurp!

We were down the beach first thing with Brambles and Snowflake, Snowflake decided that she would enjoy another Sea Weed Wrap to help get rid of all the stress of having a visitor she would rather not have!

I want to go back to eight days ago!

Then after enjoying the Sea Weed, she headed up the beach and dived into a load of dried sea weed for a quick Exfoliate!

I love a good rub down!

That was it, she felt on top of the world and we all headed back home!


On getting home, OTL let all three ferrets out for a rampage and the first thing that Snowflake did was to beat up Miss May!


That was it, decision made, May was back with her sister and OTL was onto the supplier of cages for another Tower Cage so that they have the same space.

Lunchtime we took May and April down the beach and they a run on the beach and in the grass. They enjoyed chasing after OTL 'cos they are still a bit wary of the Big Outdoors!

After a while they both wanted to be picked up and carried. OTL put May in the bag and April stayed on his arm and rested her head in his palm. Then, with OTL stroking her head, she fell asleep!

It was about then that May jumped out of the bag and went tearing off along the grass path!

A little further along the path they asked to be picked up again and dived straight into the bag again!

OTL stopped at one of the benches and we sat there for a little while, enjoying the sunshine.

This beats walking!

May curled up at the bottom of the bag for a quick snooze!

It's tiring having fun!

April stuck her head out and rested her head on OTL's tummy and drifted off to sleep again!

I like a soft tummy!

 So now OTL has got to reorganise The Office so that the cages will fit in together. This means moving the freezer to The Missus's Card Room and rearrange the cupboard and filling cabinet!

I can see that there will be lots to do this coming week!
