Dancing between the showers!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again!

It has been a day of showers and cloud!

We were out this morning walking along The Sea Wall and although it wasn't raining it was getting close!

Old Two Legs was waving the camera about and pointed out that is was very clear weather conditions and he could see the wind turbines and the Thames Forts in the distance!

We can see for miles!
You know, it was that damp, OTL started taking pictures of the rain drops!

Rain Drops
Now that has just got to be desperation creeping in!

Back home we had a snooze after breakfast then Holly decided that we were being attacked by puppy eating monsters, so she and I raced around the garden woofing and snarling and growling until Holly gave the 'All Clear'!

The F1 racing was good, except that Jenson or Lewis didn't win but it was a good race and no rain!

The lunch time walk was fun, we jumped from the car and went chasing after the family of rabbits that live close to the car park. We chased them all through the bushes and then the undergrowth, it was a bit of bad luck that I missed getting one that had a bad leg and was limping towards the rabbit hole and fell in just as I arrived, running at 100mph!

OTL was busy photographing a couple of bugs on the Spiky Leaf Sort of Thistle Type of Plant.

Bugs on the Spiky Leaf Sort of Thistle Type of Plant!
Holly started to bark, then she went into 'Serious Bark' then into 'I am really going to get upset Bark', so, OTL had to give up with the bugs and find out what she was doing.

There she was, standing on the side of The Sea Wall, woofing at a couple of Two Legs who were sitting on the wall preventing her from walking along the wall as she normally does!

Woof, WOof, WOOf, WOOF!

OTL shouted 'Enough', which is the sign that he wants us to stop woofing, Holly was just about to woof again but she turned her head towards OTL, took one step forward........and fell off The Sea Wall onto the beach!

Everyone laughed, except Holly, who looked most put out!

A bit further along the beach we saw another Two Legs sitting on the beach taking pictures of the sea, nothing else, just the sea, and he was playing with glass filters, like wot OTL does when he wants to get all 'Posh'.

Smile!
Holly didn't woof at him 'cos the sea was close and she didn't want to fall in there!

Then it was back to the insects for OTL, the wind was blowing and the flowers were waving about all over the place, so the bugs had to hang on tightly!

Wot you doing Mr?
OTL had the same problem with a fly who was wandering around a flower sneezing, except the fly was trying to eat the nectar but the pollen kept of getting up his nose, so he was sneezing!

OTL asked if he could hang about while he took a photo but the fly seemed more interested in trying to find his hanky so he could blow his nose!

WhaaaaaaaChoooooooo!
Back home before it rained again and settle down to a snooze before mugging OTL for some of his dinner!

Next week it is going to be busy, OTL has got a load to do, AND we are off to the Kent County Show on Friday!

Loads of sniffs there!

Bye bye for now.

Daisy & Holly

Sun Shine? Wot Sun Shine!

Yo Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again!

Wot a Saturday!

We were up good and early this morning, we could sniff the rain in the air, so we wanted Old Two Legs to get us out earlier than normal. It didn't work, he got up late!

In fact it was so late that the rain passed over us and we went out when it had finished rather than before it started!

Back home to some breakfast and a snooze before the F1 Qualifying.

What a wash out!

To tell the truth, we got so bored, we chased OTL out of the house for our midday walk along The Sea Wall!

OTL spotted there was a new bloom about to burst on the Spiky Leaf Sort of Thistle Type of Plant, so he took a shot of it, we think it looks a bit strange and unless we told you what it was I don't suppose you would have guessed it was a budding bloom!

A Baby Spiky Leaf Sort of Thistle Type of Plant
OTL was walking along the beach with me but Holly decided she would stay on top of the wall and every so often she would sit down and ask..................

are we there yet?
She said she was practising for when we go on holiday!

OTL and I had a laugh about that and I said that it would be The Missus who would be asking that question!

Flushed with success, OTL spotted another flower and got all arty again.

Looking down the middle of a bloom.
I don't know what the flower is called and OTL says he used to call them Fairy Trumpets!

Then he spotted some movement on the plant next to him and took this picture.

Spider on a prickly plant.
We were getting a bit fed up with this photo lark, so we went chasing rabbits and foxes!

Once we got to the top of the hill, we saw a cruise ship going up the Thames, Holly said that if all the people on board would get onto the deck, then all together shout.......'are we there yet' then it would sound just like a fog horn!

All together now.............'are we there yet?'

She gets some strange idea's sometimes!

See you tomorrow, if the rain doesn't wash us all away!

Daisy & Holly

Fun Friday

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again!

We have seen some newish things today including a dead Mole!

We were out with Old Two Legs and he had taken us on a path behind all the trees and overlooking a reed bed. We think he was looking for dragonflies and stuff like that.

Well the first thing we came across was a pile of feathers, so that means the Sparrow hawk has been active. Then we spotted the dead mole. It must had died during the night but we couldn't work out what it had died of!

One Dead Mole!
OTL said we should leave it along 'cos it may have died of a terrible affliction that was bad for dogs!

So, we left it alone!

Next we looked at the Spiky Leaf Sort of Thistle Type of Plant and noticed it had yet another bloom open this morning, so, OTL just couldn't resist!

Another Bloom!
Then we met up with Barney, he was having a good time chasing his ball. While OTL and his owner were having a chat, Barney dropped his ball at her feet expecting her or OTL to throw it for him,  but this time it rolled off the path and headed towards the mud.

Barney was told to go and fetch it but he said that if he got his paws muddy he would be in trouble, so, if his owner wanted the ball, she can get it her self!

Getting Barney's Ball!
That Barney can be so masterful sometimes!

Next we spotted this super looking snail with a super swirly shell. OTL tried to take a photo but he couldn't get the camera low enough to get a good shot.

Pretty but not good enough!
So, OTL picked up the snail and sat it on the top step. Now that was OK but the snail was so frightened by the 'Flying Through The Air' bit that it refused to come out of it's shell and smile for the camera!

No I'm not coming out again!
Not that we blamed him!

Tomorrow we hope to get a bit bird watching, in if it stops raining!

If not, then it's all sit down and watch the F1 qualifying at Silverstone. Holly says that this year they will be using rowing boats instead of cars if it keep raining!

Bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

A Super Sunny Lazy Day

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

It has been a super summer type of day today, we were out for our walk this morning and the breeze was blowing gently from across the water. We could sniff the Bacon and Eggs being cooked in the Greasy Spoon cafe on Southend Sea Front or maybe it was Herne Bay!

Old Two Legs took some more pictures of the Spiky Leaf Sort of Thistle Type of Plant 'cos the blooms now seem only to last a couple of days before they start to fade!

Another Bloom on the Spiky Leaf Sort of Thistle Type of Plant!
We saw Mr & Mrs Corvid having breakfast on The Sea Wall and went rushing up to see what they were eating, they thought we were going to take it away from them, so the flew down to the break water to finish it off!

A Moving Breakfast!
We called out to them to share it with us but they only laughed at us and carried on feasting!

Mmmmm!
A bit further along we met up with Barney who said he was almost worn out! He had been chasing all over the place and on the beach and in the sea weed. In fact you could see from his face that he had been in amongst the weeds!

Feeling a bit Grubby!
He said he felt a bit Grubby, Grubby? We said he didn't know what Grubby was, and then we proceeded to tell him about the Super Sniff and our rolling in it and subsequent bath!

He did laugh when we told him that OTL was keeping a very close eye on us!

Back home to some Doggy Scoff for breakfast and then a snooze by the side of the pond before going for our lunch time walk!

Pool Side Puppy!
We went out again and OTL was off looking for insects and stuff like that, we were after the sea side sniffs!

This Small Skipper or Thymelicus sylvestris, if you want to sound posh, was sitting on one of Holly's Whizz Bang plants and although OTL had got the right camera and the right lens, he could do nothing about the wrong wind!

The butterfly had landed on the flower but was being blown all over the place! Poor OTL just couldn't get the focus and depth of field correct. When he got one right the other was so far out that the picture looked horrid!

Next time a tripod and no wind please!
All that wind was blowing the sea up the beach and as it was high tide OTL got some good pictures of the waves breaking on the Sea Wall.

Splash!
He really wasn't this close!

Another Splash!
OTL said that we should stand on top of the steps so he can take our photo when the wave splashed up!

A Big Splash!
As we said, In your Dreams!

On the way back to the car we spotted some more insects on a bloom, so, OTL just had to take a picture. Trouble is, we are not sure what they were doing, OTL said they were playing 'Piggy Back', Holly didn't believe him!

Piggy Back Games?
The rest of the day we spent lazing by the pond, snoozing and going back in for a drink then snoozing again!

It's a hard life being a puppy you know!

See you tomorrow and don't forget, it's Friday!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Holly & The Wormy Man & Sand Ploughing!

Hello Woofers!

It's us back again, Daisy & Holly.

We very nearly almost got a rabbit this morning, I went chasing after the gang of rabbits down by The Sea Wall and Holly was keeping up with me. I saw a rabbit to my left and one to my right, so picking on the one nearest, I swerved to my left and.................tripped over Holly!

Result was, Rabbits-1 Dogs-0

Next time we will get them!

Old Two Legs stopped and took some more pictures of the Spiky Leaf Sort of Thistle Type of Plant. It had got some new blooms and the one that had bloomed first was looking all ragged and ready to give up the ghost!

More Blooms on the Spiky Leaf Sort of Thistle Type of Plant!
Then Holly and I bumped into a youngster on the path and she wanted to play but got dragged away by her owner who wanted to get home!

Wanna Play?
We walked on a bit and came across a Wormy Man who was preparing to go out looking for worms.

Holly was cheeky and had a look in his bucket, then had a sniff, then asked if he had any sandwiches on him!

No Worms! Got any sandwiches?
We left him to search for the worms!

OTL spotted a Arion ater!

To everyone else it is called a Black Slug, the biggest slug in the British Isles. You know it can grow up to 20cm long!

That's almost snake size!

This one didn't look that long!

Look! an Arion ater
Then it stretched out to move forward, it was getting to be enormous!

It had a funny hole in the side of its body that OTL said was called a Pneumostome and was really the hole through which it breathed! Now, we have always done our breathing through our mouths, just like OTL, but now we have seen a beetle that breaths through its backside and a slug that breathes through a hole in its shoulder!

Big Black Slug taking a breath!
Holly said that it's not unusual really considering that there were times when I spoke through my tail! ..........................and that's when the fight started!

Back home to some chicken and biscuits and The Missus has saved the last of yesterdays Doggy Scoff so we can put it out for the Hedgehog tonight, just as a surprise present!

I'm sure it's because OTL wants to take some more photographs of the Mr Prickles!

This afternoon we went to The Sea Wall again but this time we went over to where the mountains of sand are!

It was great, running up and down the hills, finding big puddles to paddle in.

Holly found that if she ran down the hill and stuck her nose into the sand, she could dig a big long hole!

.........and this is how you Nose Plough!
We left OTL trying to photograph a Damsel Fly but he didn't have the best lens on his camera and on top of that, the Damsel Fly kept of flying away!

Damsel Fly
He did see one that was almost transparent, but again, as soon as he got near enough, it flew off!

Almost very nearly Transparent!
We got back to the beach and as the tide was right in, I went for a paddle to get rid of the sand stains off my legs. Holly decided that she was staying on the beach and so ended up going home to a wash and scrub to get all the sand stains off her!

I mean, just look at her, she looks as yellow as a Teddy Bear!

Teddy Bear Holly!

Back home to a snooze followed by some mugging of OTL at dinner time and we are settling down to watch out for Mr Prickles to arrive for his dinner!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Different Doggy Scoff and We're left at home!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again!

First of all a big 'Hello' to Jane our latest 'Follower'. Super to have you on board and we hope you enjoy following our adventures!

Talking of adventures, I must tell you about last night!

We were doing our Midnight Guarding Patrol, marching in line and in step around all of the rooms in the house. Just to make sure there were no burglars or other sneaky things creeping about!

Hup, two, three, four, Hup, two, three, four!

We got down stairs and were patrolling the back windows when Holly spotted something!

We both set about woofing to alert Old Two Legs to the fact we had spotted an 'Intruder'!

Down OTL staggers, looking like he was on 'auto pilot' and opened the door for us.

Out we flew, all 'teeth and tails' and snarling like we were six foot tall and had sharp teeth and a mean attitude!

There, behind the ladder, next to a pole, there stood the Intruder!

Please Don't Eat Me!
Wot are you doing sneaking around our garden Holly asked, the Hedgehog said that his name was Prickles and he was searching for something to eat, like slugs and snails and worms and if he could find some, Doggy Scoff!

Holly said that he could just keep his eyes off our Scoff, even if it tasted like Yuk!

However, Holly said that he was welcome to all the snails and worms and slugs he could eat 'cos we had no use for them and they didn't taste very nice anyway, but he is not to make any noise 'cos OTL is a light sleeper and doesn't like being woke up in the middle of the night!

Back to bed, until the next 'Patrol', it's a good job we are Professional Guards or that hedgehog might have escaped detection!

On our walk along The Sea Wall, OTL seemed to be keeping a close eye on us, every time we got a sniff of something interesting, he was there like a shot to make sure we didn't have a roll!

He stopped to have a look at that Spiky Leaf Sort of Thistle Type of Plant, but he didn't spend long taking pictures 'cos we had caught the scent of our Super Sniff from yesterday.

Spiky Leaf Sort of Thistle Type of Plant with new blooms!
It was a case of 'click, click' Oi! Keep away from that sniff you two!

We got our marching orders!

Back home we were served up some Doggy Scoff but not the normal rubbish, it was some new unexciting Doggy Scoff! It smelt different, so we left it untouched. OTL said it was the same Scoff he gave to Mutters, his old Labrador, many years ago and he loved it.

That's the trouble with a Labrador, they will eat just about everything, including the carpet, the sofa and the bathroom mat and still come back for more!

Around lunch time OTL sneaked out of  the house with his tools, he left us with The Missus who took us for a walk across the Fields, not as exciting as The Sea Wall but as we haven't been there for ages it was interesting to catch up on the sniffs, but nothing to roll in, if you get my meaning!

We even remembered where to wait for TM to put our leads back on!

OTL came back and we all had a good game before dinner. We managed to mug OTL for some of his Shepherds Pie that he put into our food bowl, on top of the Doggy Scoff, so we had the Shepherds Pie and carried on into the Scoff underneath!

We didn't have it all but enough to make a dent!

Maybe we will finish it off tonight before bed time.

That's after mugging some of OTL's Shortbread!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

We've been to Pets 'R' Us!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again.

We have been very naughty girls today! In fact we have been extra special naughty girls!

This morning we were having our normal walk along The Sea Wall, Old Two Legs had gone wandering off ahead of us to find the Thistle Thingy Plant to see if any more blooms have come out.

The Bugs have moved in!
Holly and I were just wandering along, 'sniffin the sniffs' when all of a sudden, carried by the wind, came this super sniff that said 'Find Me!'

Holly and I went diving into the long grass and finally found it, it was super, I mean Really Super!

So we both had a good sniff of it, then we had a good roll in it, and then we had another good roll in it!

OTL went Ballistic!

Holly had it all over her shoulders and head, she had even got a good smear under her chin as well!

and a Little Dab Behind The Ears!
Her collar was caked in it as well, just so she could have a sniff later on!

I went for the 'Splash it all over' look. Just like 'enry Cooper!

Splash it on all over!
I even managed to get some on my collar as well!

OTL Went Super Ballistic!

He called us all the Smelly Nelly's under the sun, then he called us a pair of 'Honking Hounds' !

It was about then that he cut our walk short, put us on a lead and headed back to the car!

We were made to stay in the back with all his tools and not move until we got home.

We had to go in via the back gate and I was tied up out side in the garden while Holly got a good scrubbing!

Then it was my turn, I got scrubbed from the tip of my nose to the tip of my tail and there was no place that OTL missed!

When OTL had finished I smelt like a 'Tarts Handbag'!

We were not in OTL's good books!

This afternoon OTL said that we could go with him as long as we stayed clean and smelling like wot dogs should, I was going to tell him that dogs don't smell like wot we were smelling 'cos it's not natural but Holly said that maybe I should keep my trap shut in case we got into more trouble!

Out we went to The New Park and we went for a good long run, I was chasing the ball, then managed to loose it!

Do I look Goood or Wot!
Holly was playing safe and only had a sniff at all the sniffs on the side of the paths, she was playing the 'Little Miss Goody Two Tails'!

Holly said that she felt that The Watchers were keeping an eye on us!

They are watching us!
When we went past the cattle, we woofed 'Hello' but they just told us to keep Moooving!

Keep Moooving!
When we got to the Swimming Hole I asked OTL to throw the ball for me but he said that as I had lost it I was out of luck!

So, as there was another dog swimming out to fetch his ball, I asked if I could have a play with his ball.

Oi! Can I play with your ball?
Holly said I was chancing my tail 'cos there is no way he was going to share his ball. She was right, he told me to woof off!

On our way back to the car we met up with a couple of doggies and one told us of this super sniff he had found and was having a good roll in it. He asked us if we wanted a share!

Hey! This is Goooooooood!
His mate whispered that it was not a good idea as our OTL was giving us the old 'Hairy Eyeball'!

I wouldn't if I were you!
We got back to the car without getting into any more trouble, so OTL stopped at our favourite shop on the way home! We got some chews and some doggy scoff and Chicken Strips, (our Favourite) and shampoo (we used the last of it this morning!)

So, we think that OTL is going to keep an eye on us for the next few days regarding the Super Sniff!

It is difficult being a puppy sometimes!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly (Sniff-less!)

Things are growing in our pond!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again.

We have had a lazy Sunday, we got Old Two Legs up at six this morning, not for any reason, it was just that we were up doing our 'House Inspection' and thought he might like to march around the house with us!

Down on the beach, we had a problem, Holly said she had buried a chew on the beach but couldn't remember where!

I can't remember!
What a Wally!
We stopped at the Thistle Thingy and found the some bugs had set up home in the petals already!

Here be Bugs!
We spent some time in the garden with OTL having a snooze in the sun shine and mugging him for some of his 'Bacon & Mushroom Baguette' !

Then all of a sudden OTL pointed out some wriggling thing in the pond. I could hardly see it, so OTL got out his camera gear and managed the following photo's.

Here comes a floating Mozzy!

We reckon this doesn't count 'cos it had left the water and had been flying about!

A Mozzy Larvae about 9 'o' clock in the picture.
OK, but not too impressive!

Mozzy and Beetle!
We went back to the Mosquito and all of a suddenly this beetle came up to the surface and took a breath, then swam down to the bottom again!

A Butt Breathing Beetle!
Then it did it again!

Now we were amazed by the beetle taking a breath from that end of his body, well I mean, normally you just breath out from that end!

OTL says he is going to get an adaptor ring for the lens so he can fit a Polarising Filter to cut out the glare and then you can see other things that may be growing in our pond!

Well, I'll tell you this, it certainly has got our Holly all excited with anticipation!

Mmmmm Interesting, I suppose!
So, after such an exciting day like that, we are off to have a snooze before dinner!

Almost forgot, OTL took a picture of a couple of rain showers, but the picture is 12 inches long, so click on it and scan along!

Two Showers over Sheerness

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly
