Holidays are for getting wet!

See Yooo Woofers!

It's McDaisy, McHolly, Miss McMay, Miss McWendy, MacFreddy and Eric de MacFerret!

Today we have all been having some fun with the water. First Fred and Wendy were out pounding along the beach doing their early morning jog! Wendy did suggest a dip in the river but Freddy said he would rather have a paddle in the pools!

Nah! I'll pass on that, it looks too deep for a ferret!
When May and Eric went out they stayed well away from the water even though May did her impression of an otter!

Look, an Otter Ferret!
Holly had the pickle in her and managed to grab a stick that Old Two Legs had thrown and she wouldn't let me have it!

Catch me if you can Droopy Draws!
We all had a snooze, including OTL who was trying to decide if he should stay or go for a drive up the road to see what was there. In the end he had a snooze 'cos The Missus had moved into the awning to throw some glitter around!

Who said it was Walkies Time?
The tide was out and it looked just too far to run out to the waves so Holly suggested we all lay down in the sand and catch some rays!

Well, it looks a long way to me!
OTL decided to visit the river and see what was going on. Holly did get to the river and said that it still looked like a puddle that was going down hill!

It's going down hill again!
OTL found a stick and Holly and I jumped into the river to get the stick back. Holly jumped in but only as far as the water covering her paws!

I don't care how shallow it is, I'm not going any further!
It wasn't too long before a big Bozo woofer decided that he should have my stick.

My Stick! My Stick! My Stick! My Stick! My Stick!
Not only BOZO but his mate nicked my other stick as well and wouldn't give it back, even to OTL!

A Tea Leaf Bozo!
Then, after he lost the stick, this Bozo tried to pinch another stick OTL had for me!

My Stick, I want it! My Stick, I want it! My Stick, I want it!My Stick, I want it!My Stick, I want it!
Unfortunately for this Bozo, his Two Legs called him away so Holly and I could have some fun with the stick!

Me, swimming the river!
Holly decided not to go swimming and instead she rolled onto her back to catch a few Rays! After a good game I decided to follow her lead and catch a ray or two while at the same have a good roll in the sand which got everywhere on me!

You just can't beat a good roll after a swim!
TM has been 'Creating' and there has been ink and glue flying around, she reckons she has been inspired by the colours on the hills and trees.

A Rhoderdender-ron-ron-ron
Mind you, it all looks green to me!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

McDaisy, McHolly, Miss McMay, Miss McWendy, MacFreddy and Eric de MacFerret!

Dog Fish or is it a Woofer Fish?

See Yooo Woofers!

It's McDaisy, McHolly, Miss McMay, Miss McWendy, MacFreddy and Eric de MacFerret!

Well wot a snoozy day we have had! It started off with someone waking us up very early by marching up and down the caravan getting card making stuff out and banging doors and drawers!

Yep, it was 'Her'!

After throwing everyone out of the caravan, including the ferrets, she decided to leave the carding until tomorrow!

And we were still not allowed back inside!

McMay and Eric came back with tales of gigantic Nelly Fish on the beach. Eric reckons it weighed at least ten pounds and maybe more! Old Two Legs wouldn't let them get too close to the Nelly Fish 'cos you don't know if all the stings were still there!

I wonder what it's name is?
Just for a change, Holly and I headed off to the right when we got to the beach and followed it all the way along until we got to the river. It looked both cold and deep, so I decided to keep dry and stayed well away from the water!

I think we'll hunt rabbits instead!
On the way back I found a Dead Dog Fish on the beach, we knew it was dead 'cos it wasn't breathing and on top of that, it wasn't moving!

OTL says it is a member of the shark family!
Later on we all went shopping, well, we left the ferrets to snooze as they said they didn't need anything in town and anyway they wanted to stay in their new cages in the awning!

Now, these cages are a sort of waterproof plastic canvas cage with zip up top and bottoms and places where you can stick the water bottle. The only problem is that they got all excited and kicked all the cat litter and the paper wipes all over the place then couldn't find anywhere to wee or poo, so they did it in the middle of the floor!

Still, the cages do mean that they get some fresh air and also they get to climb up the walls on the plastic netting!

It's a Ferret Alcatraz!
Now, since we have been down here, Miss Holly Chops has taken to getting her paws wet in the sea. Normally this madam doesn't like walking on wet grass, never mind wet sea! Is she getting all brave and will we see her having a swim before the holiday is finished?

Which way to the sea?
Mind you, after a long run on the beach chasing sticks that OTL has found, Miss McHolly Chops is normally all worn out and is in need of a place to snooze.

Where better than on the seat where The Missus is snoring her tail off!

Well, it beats chasing sticks!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

McDaisy, McHolly, Miss McMay, Miss McWendy, MacFreddy and Eric de MacFerret.

We are here!

See Yooo Woofers!

McDaisy, McHolly, McMay, McWendy, MacFreddy and Eric MacFerret here!

Well, we all arrived without any problems on the roads, no traffic jams or stuff like that. There were some road works that slowed us down but not for too long!

We arrived in Gretna and Old Two Legs and The Missus were going to spend some dosh at the Designer Centre but there were one or two minor problems. First the piping from the water tank sprang a leak and it was a big panic to find where it was leaking from! In the end OTL found it and plugged it all in again and Hey Presto!

No leaks!

Then the gas system would not light, it seems that when the van was serviced the engineer shut the gas off in a place that OTL didn't know existed! After some 'Tracing of Pipeworks' he found the valve and turned it on! Then he found that one of the gas bottles was empty!

Not a good thing to happen when you are on holiday!

So, wander around to the Office and purchase, at vast expense, a full bottle of gas!

Then OTL got his cup of tea!

We then found out that the water heater would only work on electric, not gas but that could wait until we planted the caravan by the sea side!

So, by the time OTL was ready to go shopping, the shops had all closed! Except the Co-op and the Chinese Takeaway!

Early next morning we were supposed to set off, like seven in the morning but because of a big meal of Plawn Balls and Plawn Clackers and a bottle of Champagne (Co-op's Best), they didn't wake up until eight!

So, by the time we were ready to go, it was nine!

Not to worry, we didn't have any ferries booked, it was all main roads all the way there!

When we arrived TM took us for a walk on the beach, I mean, this beach is enormous!

It goes on for ever!

It's got a river at each end of the beach and the sniffs are to die for!

On the way here we were  looking out of the window at the waves coming in straight off of the Atlantic, I mean, they were huge!

Atlantic Waves!
Lucky for us, we were going to a place where we are sheltered from these wave and instead we got smoooooth water!

Smooooth Water, Smoooooth Beach and this is only half of it!
I mean, the beach is massive, like, it goes on forever and at each end there is a river!

Here is another bit and there is more to the right as well!
One of the funny things was how the ferrets stood up to all this travelling. Well, every day OTL puts the ferrets in a travelling cage and heads off in the car to the beach on the Isle of Grain, so, they are used to the bumps and bangs of car journeys.

This time OTL had strung a hammock from the ceiling so that it rocked from side to side, something the ferrets loved!
Experts at snoozing!
As soon as OTL had 'Planted' the caravan he took us all out for a walk, the ferrets, Holly and I, but not all together!

The ferrets just loved the new sniffs and the sand and the sea and the sea weed!

Holly and I just couldn't get enough of rolling in the sand!

We Rolled.

And then we Ran!
Today OTL took us all the way down one end of the beach to where the river flowed to the sea. It wasn't deep and before she realised what she was doing, Holly Chops found herself half way across the river and thinking that the puddle was moving!

This puddle is going downhill!
It was then that a Border Terrier came bounding up to see what we were doing and she even tried to pinch our sniff!

We soon sorted her out!

Clear Off to your side of the Border!
Well, we have had loads of walks today and watched toe sea come in and go out and we are just worn out woofers, and that includes the ferrets as well!

More fun from the McGodwin's tomorrow!

Luv,

McDaisy, McHolly, McMay, McWendy, MacFreddy and Eric MacFerret.

Almost there!

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Wot super hot day it has been today!

Last night was fun as well! Now, you know Old Two Legs has got himself a new hobby, gazing at little twinkly lights in the sky. Well, he has got a gissmo that he can attach to the 'scope and the attach his camera. That way he can take photo's f the stars and planets and the moon and any passing space ship!

Last night The Missus and the ferrets and Holly and me had all gone to bed, leaving OTL downstairs trying to take in the destruction details on setting up the computer controller on the 'scope.

OTL looks up and there, shining through the tree branches he spots 'The Moon'! Wot a chance here!

So, the scope gets set up and the camera is attached and out in the garden it all goes.

That's when the problems start!

First off, the moon is only visible through the trees branches and the leaves. So, OTL positions the 'scope where he thinks the moon will poke it's face around the corner.

It didn't. It carried on hiding behind the tree and then just as it was getting higher in the sky, the clouds came and covered the moon so that all there was to be seen was a bright blob in the sky!

It didn't help having the leaves waving about in the wind!
Still, it proved the set up works, now all he has to do is find something that will stay in focus, be bright enough to see and interesting enough to include on my blog! What about Jupiter or Mars or a galaxy or two?

This morning the tide was out, so it was game time on the beach. Freddy tried to get Holly to have a race along the beach but Holly says she is saving herself for a game with Bert who she could see wandering along the Sea Wall.

No thanks, I'm off to torment Bert!
Back home OTL has been gathering up all the stuff he wants to take away on holiday, camera stuff, telescope, binoculars and the instruction manual!

Some of the stuff has been loaded into the caravan and  the ferret cages have been loaded into the back of the car and need just water and food and some cat litter to make it habitable for the little monsters!

Lunchtime the tide was in and I went in for my traditional dip while the ferrets stuck to the shade of the Sea Wall.

OK, where's me stick?
Holly decided that she was going to stay on top of the Sea Wall 'cos that is the best place to catch a few rays!

Up here is best, a gentle breeze that blows the sand flies away and no soppy ferrets chasing you!

This afternoon OTL was loading the awning into the caravan and then he was checking the oil and water and tyres and fuel. The car got cleaned yesterday so it now is all bright and sparkling clean. In fact OTL wouldn't let Holly and I inspect it 'cos he says that just for once he doesn't want grubby paw marks all over the dash board!

As if!

Tomorrow we are off early and will over night at Gretna Green where we normally stay. Then it's off to Carradale on Monday, so, don't panic if we miss out on a report, it will be 'cos we can't find any internetty connection!

See you soon!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Hello Sailor!

Hi Woofers!

It's us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

It's getting closer, the holiday I mean, Old Two Legs has been doing things to the car like checking oil and water and getting it cleaned inside and out!

We have got out sleeping beds all fluffed up and all the crumbs shaken off. We have got to decide which balls to take with us 'cos the sea is very close to where we will be parking the caravan.

Can you imagine it, jump out of bed, dash down the beach, have a wee, dig a quick hole, dive into the sea for a quick swim and then back to bed to give OTL a cuddle!

Yeah, just imagine it!

Today we were our for our walk when we spotted the HMS Richmond steaming down the Medway and out to sea!

Yoo Hoo! Sailor Boys!
Holly was jumping up and down waving her tail and calling out to them but we think they were busy sailing the ship 'cos we didn't see anyone wave back!

Two ships, one English and the other Dutch, had visited Chatham to commemorate the  Battle of the Medway when the Dutch sailed up the Medway to Chatham and set alight the English fleet!

Then they nicked the flag ship and legged it off back to Dutch Land!

I said that they should have sent me in to sort them out 'cos I make a good submarine!

HMS Daisy Dog!
Not sure what's for dinner tonight but you can bet Holly and I will be sitting by OTL's side all the way through his meal, just in case he drops a crumb or two!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

OTL meets up with Rufus

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

Well, wot a busy day!

We were out first thing and met up with Max and Oscar. Both wanted to try a ferret for breakfast but OTL knew what they had in mind and kept both ferrets in his arms!

Go on, just a little off the flank!
Still, you can't blame Max or Oscar, it's a woofer thing!

Ooh! That tail looks tasty!
Fred and Wendy were keeping a good look out in case the woofers came back!

I don't feel safe, they may come back!
Freddy, being all big and brave said that his claw hurt and the best thing would be to get OTL to carry him!

Freddy, don't stay here, they may come back!
Needless to say, the woofers didn't come back, Freddy blagged a lift and Wendy ran all the way back to the car!

Lunchtime was fun. Remember Eric's dip in the tray full of water? Well it seems that both Fred and Eric have got a taste for a cool paddle!

Eric saw me dive into the waves for a 'Deep Paddle' and decided to do wot I do!

It tastes a bit muddy but it's still fun!
He went in further and the waves got a little bigger and as Eric was heading for the shore a wave came along and he almost surfed all the way back to the shore!

This is the way to wash your butt!
After the walk OTL left us at home and headed off to see Roy and Chris down at the Harrietsham Ferret Rescue.

OTL had an important job to do. The girls at the Allhallows Croppers had raised some money to donate to the Harrietsham Ferret Rescue to help finance medical treatment for the ferrets. While he was there OTL had a look around the hutches at the ferrets waiting for new homes. There were two ferrets there who had been found by the side of the road, starving and covered in fleas and ticks. They were in such a state that they had to be force fed using an eye dropper to begin with, just to get some 'Ferret Soup' down them!

When OTL saw them they looked very thin and a little shaky but they had started to eat on their own and were on the road to recovery.

Chris said that she had someone there who was waiting to see OTL..............it was Rufus!

He looked wonderful, all shinny coat and sparkling eyes and he gave OTL a good licking while they were having a cuddle!

Rufus was on his third girl friend, he sure is getting around!

Roy and Chris said that they were over joyed with the donation and said a big, big thank you to all the Allhallows Croppers and that every penny would be spent on the care of the ferrets.

So, with that good news OTL had to leave the rescue on his own 'cos OTL had been told by The Missus that if he came back with any more ferrets........they could stay but OTL was off to the shed!

As the shed is full of spiders, OTL came home alone!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

A Nargle on The Beach!

Hello Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

It's been a fun day today, We found a Nargle on the beach! Yep! A real Nargle who looked mean and nasty and ready to  jump on us and chew our legs off!

Just look at that Nargle!
Old Two Legs spent some time looking at it and pronounced it to be a crab that had lost its legs.

What does he know?

I went for a dip in the sea but ran into a little problem, there was more mud than water on the sea shore and I got into trouble, again!

Well, the mud looked like water, honest!
Lunchtime, May and Eric had some fun digging a trench and May said she felt there were some 'Sprinkles' on the end of her nose and asked OTL if he would lick them off for her!

Come on OTL, you've got a long tongue!
Eric went off looking for Nargles in the rock pools. Now he has got used to splashing about in the water tray, a little rock pool is nothing to him!

I think I can sniff Nargles!
We were looking at some pictures of Eric when he first came to live with us and his face was that of a very young ferret. Just look at him now, he looks all grown up and dead smart!

Who fancies chasing Nargles with me?
We went for a drive in the little car, getting some fuel and oil!

We were all singing our driving songs but OTL was getting all confused 'cos he forgot the chorus!

Holly said she would write down the words and OTL will have to sing from the notes!

We are still getting packed up for the holidays, OTL has just sorted out his stack of magazines and books he wants to read on holiday. Of course, they will only get read if it rains!

We got our Anti Tick stuff on our shoulders today and it will start to itch later. The ferrets got their Anti Flea stuff and are banging around their cages as it dries and begins to itch!

It won't last long and it keeps them free from nasties!

OTL has found half a bottle of Avon Skin So Soft Stuff he slaps on to keep away the midges but really wot he needs to do is to stay close to The Missus cos she attracts insects and Midges and gets bitten and munched on by all the biting and stinging things!

So, if OTL stands close to her, all the bugs will bypass him and land on her!

Sorted!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Another Busy Day!

Yo Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

We have had a busy day today, Old Two Legs has been crying into his wallet again!

It started off this morning when Holly and I landed in the 'Poodle Parlour' for our shampoo & set!

A little while ago OTL was informed that the prices have gone up and that got him all sad and poor.

Today they tried to charge him even more! So, why the increase OTL wanted to know and the girl said that they charged even more for Yorkshire Terriers!

Stuff the Yorkshire Woofers said OTL, my dogs are crossbreeds and live in Kent, not Yorkshire!

The girl said that she would keep it at the old price this time but next time the price goes up!

OTL is going to see if there is a City & Guilds course on dog clipping and do it him self!

After that upset OTL was off to the dentist and after stabbing him and drilling holes in his teeth, he then got some medication and a big bill.

More crying into his wallet!

This afternoon I was taken to the vet for a checkup on my water works. OTL had to get a sample of my wee which was sent off into the back room for testing.

Why can't they just sniff it like wot us woofers do, I mean, we can tell your life story with a good sniff!

We were told my Ph. is a little Alkaline and there was some Protein in my wee as well. So, OTL was given another sample bottle and told to come back in six weeks time with another sample, my wee not his!

Well, tomorrow should be a little quieter, just the anti tick stuff to go on!

I'm off to see what is for dinner!

Bye Bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Here comes the rain!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

We were out early this morning, we got woken up again by The Missus!

Last night TM went to bed early 'cos she said she was feeling 'Wobbly', OTL sez that she should have more water with it!

TM said something rude!

This morning it was cool enough to take the ferrets with us but Wendy and Fred were up for a run and a dig on the beach.

OTL was keeping his eyes open for bugs and stuff and alone the Sea Wall he spotted this bug legging it along as fast as it could go!

Can't stop! Too Busy!
We all had a good sniff and a dig, well all of us except Holly Chops, she reckoned that the beach was just right for catching a few rays!

Oh Pleeeese! Why are you lot so energetic?
Lunchtime it was still cool enough for ferrets so May and Eric enjoyed a charge around and I got good and grubby with a sniff I found!

This is the Dogs!
Now, Miss May was rather interested in the beach sniff that I found and after I had finished she went over to it to see wot I was getting so excited about!

Oh, YUCK! That is sooo gross!
That ferret has just got to get with the beach sniffs!

The weather forecasters have been all doom and gloom about the next few days, storms, rain, floods and plagues of locusts!

Tomorrow we are off to the 'Poodle Parlour' for our 'Short Back and Sides' all ready for the holidays and OTL is off to the dentist 'cos he has a tooth ache!

Early evening I have to go to the vet for a check up and OTL will have to get a new prescription for my pills!

More crying into his wallet!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

We start getting ready for the Hols!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Well, it's started! This is the time when Old Two Legs starts to get everything ready for the holiday. He has got the camera gear bagged up and the ferret cages we take away are dug out of the shed and cleaned then stored in the back of the big car.

We were up early, mainly 'cos The Missus was up at the crack of dawn and was making such a noise with her crafting stuff!

When we got to the beach the tide was still out so Eric had to make do with a paddle in the rock pool.

No Nargles here!
I managed to get in some 'Sniff Rolling' even though it was a dead crab from the last high tide!

Yeah! A sort of Crab Paste Roll!
Eric had fun digging in the sand while May went into 'Sniff Mode' in the Sea Kale!

That sun is getting warm!
Lunchtime we took Fred and Wendy down the beach and of course, being Sunday and sunny there were loads tourists and of course they all wanted to stroke Fred and Wendy!

Anyone would think that Ferrets were new!
OTL came across this flower growing beside the grass path. The colour was bright in the midday sun!

Next we will be looking for butterflies!
Holly and I have started to get our holiday stuff ready, you know, balls, bones, rain coat!

Well, it is Scotland and you know how much rain they get!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.
