And then it rained!

Hi Woofers!

It's Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret back with you again!

After yesterdays mild weather we were hoping that today might be sunshine and balmy breezes but wot did we get?

Yep! Rain!

It was that misty sort of rain that if you stay out in it too long you will end up wet!

Mind you, we got a sort of sunrise, well the sun had got up ages ago but there was a little colour and Old Two Legs is still playing with the phone camera!

This sniff is more interesting than the sunrise!
A bit further along the sea shore we saw the last of the sunrise as it disappeared into the grey clouds!

There it was.....Gone!
We didn't hang about too long and were back just before the rain started with gusto!

Lunchtime OTL took a good close at the incoming rain clouds and reckoned there was a 'Window' where we could get out, have a run and get back before we got wet!

Hearing this, Eric and May decided to risk a run and even managed to find some short grass to have a roll in!

This is better than rattling the cage door at home!
Eric has developed an annoying trick, he jumps up and hangs on the cage door, then he rattles the door and makes a big noise! Such in the noise that OTL ends up letting him out for a rampage around the office!

I suppose it is the same thing that Holly and I do when we think he is late in taking us out for a walk. He does a sort of 'Ferret Woof' while rattling the cage door, sounds a bit like 'Dooking'!

OTL gets fed up and in combination with Holly and I jumping up at his office chair, in the end we are soon heading off for a walk!

Luckily for us we managed a walk before the rain started again. Still, there is sunshine forecast for later this week and over the Bank Holiday!

Hey! We hear that Archie Babe had a rough night last night, maybe he has been eating something he found in the garden! On top of that it sounds like he got squeezed, stabbed and generally pulled about!

Poor Lad!

Get well soon!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Sunshine at Last and I get a Splosh!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Wot a surprise we had this morning! No rain, no howling gales and Old Two Legs put his light weight fleece on to take us out!

What was better was the sunshine, it was just great! I mean, no horizontal rain and it is also the first of May!

The best way to start the month!
When we got to the beach we were amazed to see just how much that strong wind and waves had scrubbed the beach clean of old sea weed and mucky stuff!

Just look at this beach!
I wanted to get down on the beach but OTL said that Holly would follow and start ploughing up the sand with her nose and end up with sand in her eyes.

That would mean a trip to the vets, pay out loads of dosh and make OTL poor again!

I had a plan!

Lunchtime the ferrets came along with us and were playing OTL up by keep on getting down for a little walk then climbing up his leg to get carried again!

I made the most of the messing about by running ahead and down onto the beach!

Guess what I did next?

I went in for a splosh in the water!

The first this year!

It was cold!

First this year and Holly stayed up on the Sea Wall!
The ferrets said that swimming was for woofers and ducks! They did have a good time trotting along side OTL as we headed back to the car.

On the football field Eric was charging about sniffing the sniffs around the mole hills and even chased me off the sniff I had found!

My sniff is better than yours!
With a bit of luck we may keep this good weather all over the Bank Holiday!

OTL is still playing with the camera on the telephone. The problem is when he wants to transfer the pictures to the computer, we have to send them by email, two at a time!

When we got back home the ferrets ran back to their cage and fell asleep, well they have such short legs and running all that way was bound to tire them out!

We have been helping OTL taste his beef jerky. It's a little over done but The Missus has listened to Holly's instructions and will not cook the jerky until the smoke alarm goes off!

We couldn't taste the whisky 'cos of the black bits were too crunchy!

TM will be cooking another batch later this week, so, claws crossed it may work this time!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Wot a Windy Wet Day!

Hi Woofers!

It's the Soggy Doggy's again!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

Now, we have been looking at the weather forecasts over the last couple of days and listened to the doom mongers on the TV Weather Show. You could hear the delight in their voices as they were forecasting doom and gloom and rain and cold and....well you know how it is.

After a while you get used to all the doom laden warning as most of the time they happen to someone else up country!

Not today, this morning when we went out the wind was up to gales force and the horizontal rain seemed more like bullets trying to blind you!

Horizontal Rain and a Beach Wash please!

Even Old Two Legs had to walk backwards for a while on our way back to the car!

He didn't have his Gortex Trousers on so he got soaked to the skin from his waist down to his boots!

Soggy OTL!

Mind you, we only had our rain coats on so we also got soaked from our tummies to our claws!

Soggy Doggies!

Lunchtime was no better except that OTL found his plastic Gortex trousers and instead of getting soaked with rain, he got all sweaty around his tail!

The rain was still horizontal and the sea was washing the beach right up to the sea wall!

It will be fun to see what is left of the beach when the tide goes out!
Further along the sea wall the sea was jumping over the Sea Wall and we hear that someone got washed off a Sea Wall a bit further down the coast!

Tomorrow it should be more of the same so we are planning just a quick wee and a walk tomorrow, then back home for a snooze and a nibble of OTL's latest batch of Beef Jerky made with Maple Syrup and Whisky!

As OTL says, 'Wot a Waste of good Whisky'!

See you all tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

A change of Camera.

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

Now, you know that one of Old Two Legs hobbies is photography and how he always seems to have a camera in his hand come rain or shine.

Everyone nowadays seems to use their mobile phone as a camera and clicks away at everything with abandon!

So, OTL being a bit of a stick in the mud has been sticking to the old cameras but finally he has read the instruction manual (RTFM) and the last two days he has been using the phone for pictures.

Yesterday OTL was snapped by The Missus when he was giving young Eric a cuddle, while I was keeping guard on the arm of the chair!

You make sure you stay there or there will be trouble!
 It worked!

Sometimes I don't like woofers!
We left the ferrets at home while we went out for our morning walk. It was rather windy and just a bit chilly. Did I hear something about snow soon? I'm sure I did but we will all keep our heads down until it goes away!

Talking of keeping your head down. when Fred and Wendy have their rampage around the house they like to find a place to have a snooze. Freddy prefers crinkly shopping bags inside a big cardboard box. Not very inventive but Freddy likes it!

On the other paw, Wendy has found a new place for a snooze, one of TM's plastic boxes she keeps her 'Crafty Aprons'.

To begin with you would never know she was there, just look at this.

OK, spot the ferret!
OTL has looked in this box several times when he has been looking for Wendy when it's time for her to get back in her cage.

Now he has sussed it!

Here's Wendy! All snoozy!
Freddy always insists on getting a slurp or two before going back to bed!

Mmmmm, you can't beat a slurp of Ferretone!
Mind you, it is never enough to have one slurp and of course, Freddy normally gives OTL a lick on the nose or cheek then looks at the bottle of Ferretone, there is no way you can miss what he is after!

Another squirt please OTL!
It was windy and just a little too cold at lunchtime. Eric and May came out with us but wouldn't leave OTL's arms until we turned back to the car. It was then that they both got down, had a wee, then ran almost all the way back!

Too cold and windy to hang around here!
That'll keep them warm!

This afternoon was full of F1 Racing and it was not so much as who would win but more like who will survive!

End of the month tomorrow, so it will be busy busy getting all the bits ready for the accountant and then into the caravan to start putting everything back that has been taken out, like the battery for instance!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

A Prezzie for Rosie!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

Ain't it great to wake up and know that it's the weekend? The Missus was happy it was the weekend 'cos today she she was off to her 'Crop' at the village hall.

Now normally she just gets up early and makes a noise to wake everyone else up but today she was extra excited to be going out and got up even earlier and made extra amount of noise and on top of that managed to get in the bathroom before Old Two Legs which then made us a whole ten minutes late in going out for our walk!

Down on the beach it was all grey and damp again and there was a light dusting of rain drops which made our tails wet!

Back home the ferrets were having a great time, Eric and May were in a particularly good mood and played 'Fighting' all over the lounge and under the furniture. There are plenty of ferret sized holes in the workings of the sofa and armchairs all of which Holly and I can't get into but Eric and May can climb into and it makes a super place for a quick snooze between racing around and under the furniture!

Holly and I are allowed to hide in the bedroom and OTL makes sure the door is closed 'cos we don't do the sort of games that the ferrets do and he is afraid that we might just get upset if a ferret bites our tails!

Well, wouldn't you?

Freddy and Wendy love having a game as well but maybe not so fast as Eric and May.

May loves it when OTL rolls her on her back and tickles her tummy, she tries to roll into a ball and nibble OTL's fingers as he tickles her but what is funny is the chuckling Wendy makes as OTL is doing it!

Freddy loves a tummy tickle as well but he just rolls onto his back without OTL touching him and when OTL gives him a tickle, Freddy grabs OTL's finger with his front paws then grabs it with his teeth!

Lucky for OTL, Freddy doesn't bite, more of just holds it for a few seconds before letting so OTL to tickle Freddy's tummy again!

Now both Freddy and Wendy also have 'Mid Rampage' snoozes and can be found inside the furniture but Miss Wendy has found a new place to have a snooze.

You see TM had a little clear up in her 'Card Room' and putting her aprons in a box on the ground shelve, has made a super bed for Wendy to have a snooze in!

Today is the second time she has 'Found' this bed and we can reckon she will find it again!

After all this rampaging, the ferrets get tired and in need of a snooze, so, our lunchtime walk was done without the ferrets, which is a bit of a pain 'cos we had to pick up the car from the village hall after TM had transported all her card stuff up there.

Now normally Freddy and Wendy would have been with us but Wendy was just too exhausted and in need of a snooze so she didn't get her cuddle from Rosie who just loves Wendy and they always have a cuddle.

To make  up for Wendy's lack of attendance, she made up a picture in a frame for Rosie and we had to deliver it!

Just for Rosie!
Down on the Sea Front it was still raining but not so heavy but damp all the same.

We were walking around having our normal sniff and a wee when we heard someone call out 'Hello Girls'

At first we couldn't work out from where it was coming!

Well, I can hear it but who is it?
Then, puffing and blowing, along came Sid The Streak on his lunchtime jog along the Sea Wall, 'Hello Girls' he called out, 'Can't stop, trying to beat the record!'

Sid The Streak on a Mission!
We didn't bother to ask him what record he was trying to beat as he does make a big song and dance about keeping fit and regular exercise!

OK, we are off to see what OTL has for dinner tonight, I know we got Doggy Scoff and that's not much fun!

Archie's Mum was big and brave, I mean, a whole gallon of water and then laying down to have your tummy photographed? I would have wanted a wee first before posing for a photograph!

Best of luck with the Skin Doctor, let's hope it's all good news!

See you tomorrow,

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

A Soggy Friday!

Hello Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

After all that sunshine I thought that summer had really arrived, well that was until I listened to the weather forecast threatening snow soon!

We were up early this morning 'cos The Missus wanted the car to cart off all her boxes of glue and glitter up to the village hall. So, there we were at the crack of dawn being hurried along the sea front while above us the rain trickled down our collars!

We had a fast walk 'cos the rain was falling and we didn't like the idea of getting too wet!

This sniff is just too damp!
The council have been out cutting the grass and the rabbits have all been deprived of their hiddy holes!

The only problem is when the stay still, they are difficult to see 'cos they sort of blend in with the bracken!

So, it was that we missed the bunny that was standing perfectly still.

OTL somehow spotted the bunny and as soon as Holly and I passed, the bunny shot off with it's little white backside bouncing up and down!

I'm a Speedy Rabbit and you can't catch me!
So, we will be keeping a closer watch on the bracken for bunny rabbits with wobbly white backside!

While we were waiting for Old Two Legs to finish cleaning the cages, Holly was swatting up on the torque settings for the caravan wheels. She was also looking at all the information that there is stamped on the side wall! You have the diameter and the width then the build of the tread and tyre wall. Then there is the speed the tyre can go and and there is the date of manufacture as well!

Dead clever or wot?

Looking at the Owners Manual they give you the torque setting you must have the bolts that hold the wheel onto the brake drum!

Holly was well informed on all the details when we got into the tyre fitters!

She kept a close eye on what they were doing and also made sure the wheels were balanced so we don't get any vibration as we cruise the motorway heading off to our holiday!

So, without any problems we got the tyres fitted and then back home again.

Lunchtime we went for a walk with Eric, well, he was on his lead and harness while Holly and I were let off the lead for a rampage!

That didn't stop Eric from having his own rampage and he had a great time, even walking all the way back to the house down the path!

We left OTL to do his work, today it was the VAT payment, that always upsets OTL, then there is the paying of outstanding invoices, that makes him cry as well!

Not sure what is for dinner tonight but we will start by mugging OTL!

 See you all tomorrow!

 Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Loads of Rubbish!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

Old Two Legs was up a whole twenty minutes late today, so, that means we were late in getting down to the sea front. There were no woofers down there so it was a quiet stroll along the Sea Wall and plenty of time for a sniff!

It's a bit drafty but at least the sky is blue!
One of the thing planned for today is to get the caravan ready for tomorrow and also get rid of a load of rubbish down the Municipal Tip!

Now, if you are a woofer you are guided by your nose and a Municipal Tip is a place that provides sniffs in abundance!

Unfortunately OTL wouldn't let us out of the car 'cos woofers aren't allowed out of the cars!

We did have the windows down in the car so we could enjoy the sniffs and woof at other Two Legs who were getting rid of all their sniffy rubbish!

Back home little Eric was playing his normal trick of rattling the cage door and driving OTL mad!

So, it wasn't too long before Eric and OTL were heading for the football field again!

Eric really got into this solo walking and decided he would have a run and run he did! He was even doing some jumps as well! There were some mini two legs playing in the field and of course they spotted Eric dancing around and came over for a stroke and take some pictures as well!

By the time Eric got back he was a little worn out and it wasn't too long before he was asleep!

We left OTL to get on with his work and set about snoozing under his work space!

Tomorrow will be fun, we will be off with OTL to get new tyres fitted to the caravan and we will be going with him to make sure they put the wheels on properly!

We'll let you know what happens!

Bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

A Bumblebee Bomber!

Hi Woofers!

Guess who? Yes, it's Daisy, Holly, Miss May. Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

You know, we thought that we had the only Two Legs who used a smoke alarm as a cooking timer!

You know, we even have one in the caravan!

Maybe that's why Old Two Legs prefers a Take-a-Way when he is on holiday, less chance of being fried to a crisp!

The sky has been cloudy today and the threat of rain has been there but luckily, just wind and grey clouds!

An April Morning!
Holly and I had a close shave today, not the shave with the electric razor though!

Let me tell you.

After our morning walk we normally get to have a snooze on the bed while OTL does his cage cleaning and the ferrets get a chance of a rampage around the house. Now, to let the sniff of the TL's out, the bedroom window is left open and by the time OTL is finished the air is nice and wooferfied!

Well, today, there we were snoozing gently when there came a thunderous buzzing sound!

Holly and were up and on guard duty in a flash!

Then we spotted it, a thumping great Bumblebee and honest, it was the size of Robin!

It was all angry and buzzing like an electric drill!

I'm a good catcher of flies and they sometimes get into the house but there was noway I was getting close to that thing!

Both Holly and I stayed on the bed and woofed our tails off until OTL came is and with the help of his Indiana Jones hat, scooped the bee up and tossed it out of the window!

He is so brave sometimes!

I don't care, there was no way I was going near that buzzing bee!
Mid morning OTL went off to set up renewing the tyres on the caravan and on Friday he has an appointment!

When he came back young Eric de Ferret was getting all excited and was rattling the cage door wanting to get out again for another rampage!

OTL got fed up with Eric's cage rattling and got Eric dressed up in his harness and took him out for a run across the football field behind our house!

He just loved that, all on his own, he ran around all over the place!

OK, where is the ball?
Lunchtime we were out again and yes, Eric was up for another run! This time Miss May was with him and the pair of them had a great time ferreting about in the grass!

No Buzzing things here!
Tomorrow we have got to get the caravan emptied of stuff  'cos OTL has got to fit a new battery, so there is going to be fun as we play in the caravan while he is working outside!

Let's hope it doesn't rain!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May. Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Back to April Weather!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

We are back to normal again! Gone are the sunny days, the warm sun shiny breezes and everyone smiling at us!

It's back to typical April weather, grey sky's, threat of rain and temperature going down so fast we think it has crash landed in the sea!

Old Two Legs didn't go out in the garden to have a rake of the weeds. He has put down a plastic sheet to kill off the weeds and is planning to get a couple of bags of stones to keep the sheeting from blowing away!

On our morning walk we met up with a couple of Husky Type Woofers and of course they both headed for OTL so they could get a tickle on the tail!

Wot Big Blue Eyes You Have Got!
The sun was behind the clouds but we couldn't entice it out any further!

No Sun Today!
Lunchtime we took Freddy and Wendy out for a run. Wendy was all up for a jog around the park but Freddy Boy just didn't fancy exercising his legs and got OTL to carry him especially when he told OTL that his legs had all dropped off!

Honest! All four have dropped off and are in the grass somewhere!
Trouble is, we all know what Freddy is like and we don't take any notice of him any more!

Wendy was tickled pink to get a run in the grass, she even managed to have a roll in a sniff, just like Miss May did yesterday!

If he has lost his legs then he can just find them on his own!
Back home we all crashed out for a snooze while OTL went out to see if there was any tadpoles swimming in the pond but he didn't spot any, maybe they have all gone looking for the grown up flogs that hide in the garden!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Happy St Georges Day!

Hello Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Wot a super day it's been, sunshine for most of the day, we get resupplied with chicken nibbles, St George has the day off and Old Two Legs downloads some pictures from his trip to Isle of Mull!

We were out early this morning but missed seeing young Hobo so we will have get up a bit earlier tomorrow, providing OTL doesn't over sleep!

Lunchtime Eric and May came out with us and May is just as bad as us woofers for rolling in sniffs.

She has even suggested we change our names to 'Sniffers'!

As if!

Mind you, there were a couple of branches on the sea shore that had some interesting sniffs!

Branching out with new sniffs!
Miss May found a sniff that took her a whole five minutes, no wonder she wants to be called a 'Sniffer'!

You just can't beat a good sniff!
Half way back to the car Eric tried Freddy's trick, but it didn't work and they had to walk all the way back!

We've both got broken claws and sore paws!
This afternoon OTL dug out some of the eagle photos he took and there was one sea gull sort of bird. Why the sea gull was asked?

Just practising says OTL!
Then along came the eagle and dived down low, getting ready to pick up the herring the captain had thrown out of the boat!

Adjust speed, flaps down and get ready for undercarriage to come down!

Undercarriage down and ready to collect!
Then off he flew back to the nest to eat it!

Lunch collected!
Old Two Legs is getting better at capturing flying eagles from a very rocky boat!

We will have to have a look at his other pictures and see what else he has done. We know there are no otters which is a shame cos the ferrets are related to otters and we would love to see what they look like up close and do they enjoy a roll in a sniff?

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!
