Another Hot Day!

 Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here.

Another very hot day here in the South of England. I always thought we were lucky 'cos when the rest of the UK were getting wind and rain and hail and nasty storms, here we were, basking in sunshine and balmy breezes. The only problem we have is that when it gets warm, we in the South get roasted!

We were looking at the weather forecast and even the cooling thunderstorms are all taking place in the West and Northwest and what do we get?

Roasted!

Not only us but this grass is getting too hot as well!

It was good to get to the bench with some shade to help cool us for a little while. We didn't stay long 'cos Old Two Legs was getting a bit hot himself, even though he had his 'Indiana Jones' hat on!

OK, I'll sit here cos it has the rabbit butt sniff that I like!

We have seen some dragonflies buzzing around but not for some time so it was good to see this one, even if it was a little smaller than normal. OTL reckons it could be a Southern Hawker but he didn't have his book with him that has the picture and description, but, it sure does look like a Hawker!

No, stop a moment, we have found the book and it is a Migrant Hawker!

There you go, all we had to do is to find the book and there you are! Mind you, we are in the right place for migrants, being in the South!

The Wild Sweet Pea is still doing well and we often see Bumblebees zooming in and out of the blooms.

Bet you can't see the Buff Tailed Bumblebee in amongst the flowers?

The ferrets were getting a little too warm today so OTL put a couple of those freezer blocks in their cage wrapped up in a ferret bag and some towelling . They then slept for most of the day on top of the blanket or ferret bag, only waking up to have some food!

Eric just loves the Chicken Strips and as soon as he sees OTL in the office, he rattles the cage door, sticks his nose up to the cage door and licks OTL's finger until he gets a Chicken Strip, of course, Miss Wendy is close behind him, demanding her share!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

An Infrared Day!

 Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret again!

Well, not so much different from yesterday except that Miss Wendy decided that bed and paws in the air was a better option that rushing around the football field or down on the beach!

Eric was all brave and came out with us this morning for a run around the football field but even he decided a 'Paws Up' option was preferable to a race around the beach!

Just for a change, Old Two Legs decided to take the Infrared camera out for an airing 'cos we haven't taken it out for ages.

The first shot was the famous Two Trees, Bench and Poo Bin, but there were some Two Legs messing about on the bench.

You would think they knew we were coming and move out of the way!

The rigs were still there parked up at the end of the pier. Mind you, the Infrared filter didn't do it any favours!

Not even worth turning around!

Down on the beach we had a roll in the sea weed and on the sand. It was only OTL threatening us with a wash when we got home that stopped us!

Holly reckons she could get away with a roll before OTL got to her!

After a race around the beach it was good to get under the bench and into the shade, all we need is a gentle breeze just to keep cool.

Yeah, I could stay here for a rest for an hour!

Going through the forest was good, there was loads of shady bits to bring the temperature down.

If you spent too long here you could end up looking like a zebra!

Back home we watched the F1 racing which was a good race and Hamilton got second place and managed to keep his tyres from falling apart!

The ferrets haven't woken up at all and OTL even opened up the cage to stroke them, just to make sure they were still alive!

Which they were and then they both pinched a Chicken Strip and headed back to bed!

We hear from the weather man there might be some thunder and lightening next week. OTL hopes it will be at night so he can get the camera out. Holly hopes the nasty stuff should stay in the West Country and leave her alone!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Claw Clipping!

 Hello Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

Well, first of all, hasn't it been hot today! We could hardly move today, I mean, Eric came out first thing this morning and it was getting too hot even then! Old Two Legs noticed that Holly was limping on her left rear paw so after having a feel around, decided Holly might have caught her claw on the path.

Now we come to the problem part. Not only don't we like being washed in the shower or blow dried we also hate having our hair cut!

I sort of curl up in a ball on the table and go sort of floppy while OTL works around me with the shavers. We got two, one battery powered and the other is mains electric powered which is good for all down our backs and neck.

When all that is done the final bit is claw clipping. The most hateful, horrid, nasty thing that has ever been devised by Two Legs!

Normally OTL gets one claw clipped, no tell a lie, he gets one clip at a claw before we tug our paw away and bury our paws under our tummy and refuse to help him complete the operation! Both Holly and I use the concrete path on the sea wall to scrape our claws on the concrete and so file them to a 'Natural' length.

Now, we have an appointment with the vet next Tuesday for our Distemper Jabs and to pick up a prescription for our anti flea stuff. Sneaky OTL has added to the list by telling them they will have to clip our claws!

Naughty, naughty and sneaky Old Two Legs!

Well, we have been super lazy today, snoozing in the office with a gentle breeze blowing in through the bedroom window and out the office window.

We also had the F1 Qualifying 1,2 and 3 which came after lunch and what did OTL do? He fell asleep just after it started and woke up when it had all finished! You can tell he is getting old!

I will admit that after the finish I had wandered off to the office for a snooze!

Eric came out with us in the morning and Wendy at lunchtime. When we got to the beach, Wendy went for a paddle in the rock pools while Holly headed off to the shade and I joined Wendy having a roll in the sea weed!

Wendy didn't walk all the way back and cadged a lift off OTL who was complaining about having to cuddle a wet ferret and how his top had a big wet patch!

Now, what's all this about panic attacks? I mean, OTL gets a panic attack when the vet bill comes in and we can see he is going to need a defibrillator to get him back home!

We have seen kites down this end of the world, just one or two, they are not nesting however, we do have Buzzards who have been nesting and Marsh Harriers who are nesting as well! When we take Eric and Wendy out OTL keeps a watch, just in case they fancy a Ferret sandwich!

Well, not the most exciting day but it has been a gentle day.

 See you all tomorrow!

 Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

Too hot for a ferret!

 Hi Woofers.

It's Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret!

Well, it was warm this morning but Wendy still came out for a stroll around the football field.

When we got back Old Two Legs was all rush and tear to get the cages cleaned and ready for a bit of 'Woofer Cleaning'!

As it was we managed to convince OTL to go out for walkies before a wash and shave!

The only problem was, it was too hot for Eric, so he stayed in bed and showed off!

We got down to the beach and was surprised to see a Photo Shoot going on. We decided not to visit 'cos they may decide to ask Holly and I to do some posing for them!

Any way, they couldn't afford us anyway!

Down on the beach I found a ball and had a game of 'chase' with OTL where he would kick the ball, I'd chase it, then I would bury it in the sand and do a wee on it!

After that we headed for the bench on top of the hill where Holly and I took shelter in the shade of the bench trying to dodge OTL taking photos!

Well, from these photos you can see that we are a little 'hairy' and could do with a light hair cut!

Mind you, I still look good when I have the 'Shaggy Look'!

We had taken the long way around the forest and parked up in the big car park, the one where all the tourists park, so that means we passed the famous Two Tree Location!

Heading back to the car park we saw just how many tourists had gathered on the beach. There were Mini Two Legs dancing in the mud, a fisherman with his tent to keep out of the sun and the Photo Shoot still messing about with makeup!

We get all sorts down at Grain!

By the way, do you like the frames on the photos? OTL upgraded the photo processing program and the frames were an addition!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

Eric on the beach again.

 Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret!

Well, it's been yet another sunny summer day. All this warm weather only makes me miss the Spring Holiday and look forward to the Autumn Holiday, strolling on the beach, woofing at the sea gulls and digging up sand castles!

Providing the weather is warm enough, I will get to have a swim in the river! Holly may even get her paws wet!

Then, if we are lucky, there will be the odd rabbit to chase around the camp site and Old Two Legs will be chasing us!

Until then, we still have the Grain beach!

Mind you, there seems to be more shells than sand!

Getting up the stairs is always fun for Eric and he does enjoy running along the concrete path 'cos he manages to trim his claws!

Eric reckons it's better than nail clippers or a nail file!

We were sent a picture of Rosie with a card she had made after following a video The Missus had produced.

We reckon it looks dead smart and as good as the ones TM produces! Only one thing, Wendy is missing seeing Rosie. When they have the Village Hall bash Wendy gets a cuddle from Rosie but since this Covid Thingy we haven't seen anyone and you can't really have a cuddle on the computer!

Aunty Christina sent us an email with the picture of a woofer in a TV Advert that she reckons looks like me!

I mean, have you seen the way that woofer walks? It looks like he has poo'd his pants!

Have a look! Not Daisy!

We managed to get away with the wash and shave, wonder if Archie Babe got his butt squeezed and washed?

See you tomorrow!

 Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret!

Warm and snoozy!

Hi Woofers.

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here again.

Well, it's been another warm and sunny day and nothing much has been going on.

Miss Wendy decided that bed was better than walkies, so, she stayed tucked up in bed while Eric came out with us around the football field and again at lunch time as we investigated the sea weed on the beach.
Once we got back Old Two Legs had to go out again, to get some 'Dog Shampoo'. I didn't like the sound of that. It smacks of washing, drying and being shaved under the tail!

I can see us ending up with bald butts before too long!

Mind you, while he was in there he also got a small pack of rawhide chews and a pack of 100 poo bags!

There is no stopping him when he gets going!

The computer has been going all funny, like we can type what we want to say then look up and find that the letters are a sentence or so behind, very strange.

I think OTL will have to do the old 'Reboot' to see if that clears it.

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

Tuesday, 4 August 2020

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here.

Well, it's been another one of those boring and do nothing type of days.

We took Wendy out this morning and she was running all over the place with her tail sticking up in the air!

When we got back home there was Eric, showing off because he wasn't taken out.

There are times when he really shows off!

You know, today he was showing off big time.

Eric has a squeaky chicken which he loves to bits and he also has a green squeaky ball that once activated (Squeezed) will entice him from any hidey hole he might have crawled into to have a snooze.

Not today, Old Two Legs was squeezing both chicken and ball but there was no sign of Eric anywhere!

That could only mean one of two things, 1. He has fallen into the dustbin in OTL's office or 2. he is hiding in the workings of the sofa and refusing to come out!

Well, it was number two!

Lunchtime he refused to get out of bed so we left him to sulk and Holly and I headed off to the beach!

Come on, the beach is this way!
It wasn't exactly blue skies and baking hot but rather just warm and pleasant. The Wild Sweet Peas were in full bloom and looking all bright and flowery!

Now, don't that just look pretty?

There were some other white flowers that, mixed together with the Sweet Peas, Daises and green grass, looked very pretty!

There were a number of telephone calls today, all for The Missus, nothing for OTL at all!

It's what OTL calls, 'A Slow Day' so we will pack up early today and stick a couple of DVD's on and have a relaxing evening, for a change!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

Sunshine and Ferrets!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here!

The weather seems to be picking up again, it was mild first thing this morning when we went out. Miss Wendy had decided she would come with us and Eric was showing off big time!

After Old Two Legs takes us out, he gets back home to a barrage of questions regarding our walk. The most prominent question is 'Good Poo's?'

Well, this morning the answer is 'Yes, All Three! And all in one poo bag'.

OTL reckons it is a result if he can get everything into one poo bag!

Lunchtime Eric nearly missed the walk 'cos he fell asleep in the top bed but to wake him up OTL squeezed the green rubber ball that Eric loves and will get him to come out of any hidey hole!

Once we got down to the beach Eric had some fun digging in the sand and even chased me away from a sniff!

No, it's a Ferret Sniff!
I decided to leave him to it and went off for a dip in the water. There was a load of sea weed being washed up onto the beach which was fun diving through and coming out covered in green weed!

I'll look like Neptune when I come out!
What was more fun was to dive in, get covered in weed the have a roll in the sand to dry off before going into the water again!

Of course, when OTL started to call me to get out I just didn't hear him 'cos I had got sea weed in my ears!

There is nothing like a good roll in the sand

Tomorrow it should be warmer so with a bit of luck I'll be in doing some more swimming in the weed!

The Missus is doing some 'Filing' of stamps and stuff for her card making and has decided to have a break until Wednesday which means we can all make a noise running around the house chasing each other without being told off!

We like the idea of Archie Babe's TL lurking in the alley way with a bag of poo waiting waiting to descend on the phantom machine and his TL!

I'd be too scared to have a poo for weeks if she lived around here!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

F1 Brmmm, Brmmm!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here again.

Old Two Legs had been plonking away all day on the computer and in the end it was just too late to do the diary and steam was coming out of the computer!

Never mind, we are back today!

Eric came out with us this morning and had great fun sniffing all over the football field. Then there was the Ferret Rampage around the house! OTL had put the plastic tray full of water into the shower cubical and filled it full of cold water then floated the rubber duck, two squeaky rubber balls and three ping pong balls!

Miss Wendy didn't bother with it and just carried on pinching the Brambles Biscuits and Milk!

Eric, on the other paw, was jumping in and out of the water, 'rescuing' the rubber duck and the squeaky balls!

Needless to say, there were puddles all over the place!

Lunchtime we left them tucked up in bed and headed off to the beach for a little paddle!

OK, where is the water?
Holly was away having a sniff but when she heard my comment regarding the water, she came bounding up expecting me to be at the wrong end of a telling off for diving into the water!

Go on, tell her off!
Well, I wasn't being told off 'cos I was looking at all the fishermen teaching the worms to swim and a little speed boat was charging up and down the beach chasing the fish away!

Those fishermen don't look too happy!

A bit further along the path we met up with three sheep dog looking a bit damp. Holly asked if they would take me down to the beach but by then their Two Legs had reached us and called them to follow her!

Sorry, can't stop, she is calling!
One this we did notice was a super sniff on the air, we sat there with our noses in the vertical position and Holly said, very slowly.......Mmmmmmmm KEBABS!

A sweet sniff of Kebab!

Once we got back home there was just time to sort out lunch and sit down to watch the F1 racing. It was a good race and ended up in an exciting race to the finishing line with a puncture in the front tyre but the strange thing was it was not the only tyre to go pop!

Now, next week there is another race at Silverstone and we are wondering what tyres are going to be used?

Pop!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

Eye Eye, now it's TM's turn!

Hi Woofers.

It's Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret again!

We heard some sad news this morning, remember Ozzie who collapsed when he was out for his morning stroll? He was the one Old Two Legs helped carry home in one of our blankets?

Well, last week Ozzie went out in the garden, lay down on the path and didn't wake up. Poor lad, it looks like his lung infection got him in the end. He was a lovely fella, always said hello to OTL and was a gentle woofer to Holly and I when ever we met him.

Miss Wendy came out with us this morning but when lunchtime came Eric decided it was just too hot for walkies. Maybe tomorrow when the temperature is set to plunge ten degrees!

OTL took his big camera and the 105mm close up lens. The Dragonflies were too fast and just too high to get a good shot so we had to make do with chasing butterflies instead!

Just stopped for a breather!
When we got to the beach there was another of those rig things parked up off Sheerness Docks. We had a look at the Marine Traffic program and discovered that it was called Ran. Well, that's what it said on the computer program!

Well, it's registered in Iran and called Ran!
We stopped for a while on the bench to take a look at the rigs, maybe they both have some sort of maintenance plans!

After we got fed up with looking at them we headed off towards home. Both Holly and I were getting hot and in need of a drink.

OTL stopped when he saw a Buff Tailed Bumblebee but it wouldn't stand still while OTL was clicking away with the camera.

Look, there is my Buff Tail, photograph that if you want!
Back home The Missus had been on the phone to the optometrists about her ocular migraine. There was loads of rushing around cos they didn't know if it could be a detached retina.

So, an appointment was made with the same optometrists that OTL uses and it was OTL's job to drive her there and back cos she had to have drops in her eyes.

Well, in the end and after an hours consultation, it was decided that it was a migraine and her eyes were good for her age!

OTL was pleased about that cos can you imagine what it would be like if she couldn't do all her glue slapping?

OTL said it was also good news that Holly and I wouldn't have to be trained up as guide dogs!

I'd make a good guide dog, providing she wanted to go the way I wanted to go!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.
