Too Hot for Ferrets!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret.

Wow! Hasn't it been hot today?

Even this morning first thing it was almost too hot to walk all the way around, well, that's what Miss May said as she blagged a lift from Old Two Legs!

The sun reflection on the water looked good and of course OTL adjusted the camera so the sun didn't show!

Look! No Sun!
May said that she could sniff the mink again on the beach but Holly and I couldn't find it anywhere.

Crabs, Ferrets, Old Dog and Holly, but no Mink!
We got back home to discover that OTL had to go out delivering stuff, well, there was no way he was going without us!

Off we went and after deliveries OTL filled the car up with petrol and while we were waiting Holly said that the air held a sniff she recognised, Doggy Shop!

Well, that was it, we both gave OTL a real woofing and we landed in the car park of 'Pets R Us', Holly and I went potty!

We haven't been here for ages so this was something special!

In we went and almost filled the trolley with goodies!

There was stuff for the ferrets as well, plus nibbles for our holiday next month, then there was nibbles for now and teeth cleaning chews as well!

We came out loaded up to the car roof, so we're OK for the holiday and the next month!

We were late in going out at lunchtime 'cos OTL was waiting for a delivery. Plus, we thought it  was just too hot to take Freddy and Wendy out but they wanted to come!

That means we had OTL and even The Missus came along as well!

First it was OK 'cos there was a cool breeze blowing but the ferrets soon decided that it would be a good idea if they got a carry from OTL!

It's no good! We both need a carry!
When we got back to the car both ferrets were straight in the water bowl while Holly and I had to wait!

After they had their drink Holly and I watched while OTL poured water over both of them to help cool them down a little!

Soggy Ferrets!

As soon as they were back in their cage Holly and I were nose deep into the water bowl!

Super Stuff!

Back home they got another rinse under the cold water tap!

Talk about Wriggly Ferrets!

We are off now for a snooze, this running around sure takes it out of us woofers!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy a a soggy Freddy de Ferret!

Yet another warm day!

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret!

It certainly has been warm today. First thing this morning there was a slight breeze that helped keep the temperature down a little so May was quite happy to play 'Dig and Whizz' on the beach. Old Two Legs was more interested in the sun and the reflection on the water!

Maybe we should have cropped the sun out?
Miss May was digging in a big hole and found my ball from yesterday! At first she wouldn't let me have it 'cos she said it was hers but in the end she gave in and I managed to get it out of the hole!

This ball has 'FERRET' written all over it!
OTL threw it into the water a few times but he kept it close to the beach, just in case I decided to do some 'Deep Swimming'!

Easy, Easy, Easy!
As OTL headed up the grass path with Fred and Wendy, I had a crafty roll on the beach and ended up with sprinkles all over my back!

Still can't get rid of the last few, no matter how hard I shake!
When we got home OTL gave May and extra slurp of Ferretone as a sort of reward for finding the ball!

You just can't beat a good slurp!
Lunchtime it was really hot, twenty seven degrees in the sun!

Down on our walk the ferrets were asking for lots of 'carries' from OTL.

We met up with some tourists and didn't they yap!

I thought Holly could woof but these two just kept on woofing their tails off! I mean, it wasn't even their beach!

Woofin' Tourists!
It was good to be back in doors. Freddy put his head in the water bowl and blew bubbles and OTL treated Wendy to a cold water splosh in the sink, just to help her cool down a bit before having her midday meal!

The afternoon has been spent snoozing in our favourite bed and OTL has been sending off invoices which is his most favourite game, second only to seeing the BACS payments on his bank statement!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret!

A Real Lazy Sunday with OTL

Yo Ho Woofers!

It's us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret here again!

You know, it's getting to be a habit with Old Two Legs, come Sunday morning he decides to have an extra half an hour snoozing in bed!

You know it took Holly and me to wake him up this morning, Holly licked his bald head while I gave his ear a good licking!

That always gets him going!

Finally we ended up on the beach and the tide was right in, just right for a swim and a splash!

Oh! Decisions Decisions!
I managed a paddle but Miss May said she had sniffed some interesting sniffs on the way down and wanted to ask our 'Professional Opinion'!

Well, we hadn't come across this particular sniff before. It was a bit like ferret, a bit like a Weasel and sort of Stoat but not, if you know what I mean!

What about Mink? I mean, there was a mink farm down the road years ago!
We all had a really good sniff and even tried to follow the trail but it ended in the bushes and OTL didn't want us to go any deeper into the bushes.

It will be interesting if we get any more sniffs!

Lunchtime we were down the beach with the rubber ball. No water, just the ball and sand!

Miss Wendy was having a great time!

I LOVE sandy holes!
Of course, Freddy just had to join in the Big Dig!

Gerroff! this is a Ferret Hole!
What was worse, there I was, digging my hole and putting the rubber ball down the bottom and then digging it out again.

Along comes Freddy Boy and throws me out of the hole and proceeds to bury my ball!

I've been robbed!
You know, you just can't keep a good woofer down and in the end I managed to get my ball back, Freddy was not too pleased but I didn't care, it was MY BALL!

This is My Ball!
Back home and we have a lazy afternoon, OTL fell asleep and The Missus was even snoozing as well!

The weather looks good for tomorrow, so I expect to get a swim in the morning, if OTL lets me!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret.

Three walk day!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret here!

Well, what a fun Saturday! We started off this morning with The Missus pinching the car to take all her stuff up the village hall for the 'Master Class'. It was lucky that we had taken our bed and water bowl out before she loaded it all up, well, just think of the glitter and glue that could have been hiding in the bed! I mean, we'd have a Glittery Butt and a sticky nose!

Down on the beach the tide was on the turn and I just fancied having a little 'Splash' but Old Two Legs said that we were going out and if I did dip my claws in the water I would have to stay at home!

.....but they are having a swim!
Holly Chops, as usual, was staying well away from the water and just wandering along the Sea Wall.

I don't do wet!
Miss May was enjoying the sniffs with us, she has a good nose for sniffs, even though most are Ferret type of sniffs, you know, Weasels and Stoats and Mouses and Shrews and stuff like that!

Look! It's a Shrew wee trail and it's just behind you!
Holly was interested in the technical side of Weasels sniffs 'cos she reckons that they are very similar to Ferret sniffs. May confirmed that Weasels were part of the family and maybe that is why there was a similarity!

yeah, and we got Otters and Skunks and Pole Cats in the family as well!
Back home we had a snooze while OTL did the cages and then we were off to pickup a new adding machine that OTL had given to his bookkeeper but for some reason it wasn't working. When we got there OTL had a fiddle but couldn't make it work so he brought it back home for 'Further Investigation'!

While we were on our way back we got close to Riverside Park which has some super sniffs 'cos it is surrounded by sea weed and mud!

Serious sniffs!

We got home and OTL said that it was time for the ferrets to have a walk so it was out again and we also had the promise that we could call into the Village Hall to say hello to all the Glitter Girls there.

TM had said OTL could arrive after one to say hello but Freddy and Wendy were a bit slow getting off the beach.

Come on, the Village Hall is full of stuff to mug, especially at lunchtime!
Well, we got to the Village Hall about a quarter to two and there was TM waxing lyrical about glue slapping! That was just not on! I mean, we got loads of strokes and we said hello to Archie Babes Mum and there was loads of strokes from the ladies.

But No Food!

Fred and Wendy got strokes and tickles as well but we could see that there really wanted to get on with their glue slapping!

TM said she had some treats for us from Archie Babe and we just feel like 'Lucky Puppies', I mean, Archie is very naughty but we all send big thanks and licks!

OTL says he thinks there is Curry tonight, so that means we may get a bit of Nan Bread dipped in the juice!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret.

The Woofermobile goes to the menders!

Hi Woofers!

It's us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret!

It's been a bit of a strange one today.

Old Two Legs was up at five this morning, a whole hour earlier than normal!

He had breakfast and had cleaned May's cage before we headed off to the beach!

We had seen the sun come up and the red sky as we travelled down to the beach and by the time we got there it was all yellow!

It's a Sun Kissed Ferret!
I was trying to decide should I go in for a dip but OTL said if I did I'd have to stay at home while he and Holly went out!

I wasn't going to have that!

So I just had a little paddle when OTL was looking the other way!

To bathe, or not to bathe, that is the question!
Back home we were in and out like a shot. The Missus took the Woofermobile while OTL, Holly and I glided along in the big car!

About three quarters of an hour later we pulled up at the menders where OTL had got the car from and while we waited, OTL 'Booked it In'!

Seems that after two thousand miles or so it had to have its 'first Service' which OTL reckons is a change of oil and maybe screw the nuts down on the engine!

After that it was back home again to let Fred and Wendy out of their cage for a 'Rampage' while OTL got into 'Poo Shovelling Mode'!

Both Fred and Wendy love a game with the brown paper shopping bags 'cos they make a super noise when you give them a good scratch with your claws!

OTL puts the ferrets in the bag then dives in to tickle their tummies!

Great fun!

Come lunchtime we headed off to the beach again in the big car, walkies in style!

Mind you, it didn't last long. just as we were settling down to a 'Dig and Whizz' OTL got a telephone call.

Oh Gawd! He has got the phone out, that means trouble!
Seems one of his customers was in urgent need of some stuff that OTL 'Engineers' for them but they wanted it up in the north of Scotland by Monday!

That was it, back home we went and OTL went to work! I mean, it is Friday afternoon when everything should be slowing down and there he is, working!

I'm glad I'm a Woofer!

Well, in the end he managed to get it off to the carriers in time and then it was a rush to get down to the menders to pick up the Woofermobile!

So much traffic on the road! It took ages to get down there but in the end we made it before they shut for the weekend.

So, here we are back home and pounding away at the keyboard!

There is always something for a woofer to do!

Have a good weekend!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret.

And there it was, gone!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret back again!

It has been another hot dry day down here in North Kent. Yesterday we were all on the news 'cos they decided to knock the power station chimney down and of course, everyone wanted to see it come down!

It started off with a bang half way up the chimney.

Who did that?
Then there was another bang and the bottom went up in a cloud of dust and soot!

and there it was, gone!
Old Two Legs and the camera were about two miles away, he wasn't going to get too close, just in case!

Earlier in the day we had seen a boat that we reckon was a little too close to the shore to be safe but we reckon the Captain must know what he was doing!

A Bit Too Close?
Holly reckoned that the boat was there to see the chimney come down. When we went back at lunchtime, there he was, still in the same place but stuck in the mud!

Oh Worm Holes! We're stuck until the next tide!
So, after yesterdays explosions, it has been a quiet day. We have been snoozing the day away and Freddy wanted to spend the afternoon on the beach getting 'Golden Brown' in the sun!

Holly said that he was doing well 'cos he looked like a bit of burnt toast as it was!

Just turn me over and I'll toast the other side!
Miss May had decided to play a game of 'Dig and Whizz' especially as the sand was still damp from high tide.

....and now a 'Whizz'!
This afternoon we were having a chat about April and the things she used to do with the Brambles Biscuits, like hide them under the TV stand or in The Missus card room. Freddy said that the amount she stored he was set for at least six months!

We heard from TM that our mate Maizie the Westie has headed over the Rainbow Bridge. We are all sorry to hear that and send licks and cuddles to Julie.

Tomorrow we are up early 'cos the new car is going in for it's first service, OTL reckons that it is just to check all the nuts and bolts are still done up!

I can see our walk tomorrow will be all 'Hurry Up' again!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret.

Good Bye Miss April.

Hello Woofers,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret here!

Terribly sad news today.

Miss April has gone.

We had been out for our morning walk and she enjoyed her 'carry' around either on Old Two Legs arm or sitting in his cupped hand and looking out of the ferret bag while we all investigated sniffs!

She got back into the Travelling Cage and we headed for home.

Some time during the journey she died of a heart attack. She has been poorly for a number of months and we knew she was on borrowed time.

On the last visit to the vet to get medicine, the vet seemed surprised to see her still alive!

She was a super little ferret and loved a cuddle with OTL and a game with her sister May.

Being a ferret, she was amazingly brave as I can confirm, there has been many times when she wanted to get past me and instead of going around, she came up and gave me a nip on my back leg which made me jump! I'm ten times the size of her but it didn't  mean a thing to her, no one messes with Miss April!

She and her sister came to us from the Harrietsham Ferret Rescue and settled in straight away. They both fought with Snowflake and Brambles, so they had to be kept in separate cages!

When Brambles and Snowflake passed away, they were replaced with Fred & Wilma.

War started before they got in the cage, so, two groups of ferrets became the norm in this house!

April was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy, which is a weak heart and just didn't have the energy to do much racing about but she still enjoyed teasing the other ferrets, from the safety of the outside of the cage.

She still enjoyed a gentle rough and tumble with her sister who seemed to know to be soft with her.

Of late, walking back to the car, Miss May would walk along side April, as if to give her support and comfort, just like a sister should do!

We are going to miss April, she was a super ferret and an Honorary Woofer!

She has now gone to rest in the garden with Snowflake, Brambles and Miss Wilma for company.

We of course will always say hello as we pass the flower pots and keep them all up to date with the happenings in the house.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret.

Tarts R Us, but not for long!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss April, Miss Wendy and the amazing Freddy de Ferret here again!

Do you ever get one of those days that start of being a bit yuck and then, without any warning turn into a 'Gottcha' day?

Well, we have had one of those!

It started off this morning when we were rushed around our morning walk by Old Two Legs who seemed to be in some sort of hurry!

Have a sniff, lift yer leg and 'Come on Hurry up!'

I mean, a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do but in her own time you know!

As we finished the walk I remembered, we are off to the Parlour for a hair cut!

So, nine on the dot we were standing outside the door listening to the woofers howling away in the kennels. Poor woofers, I'd hate to be left in one of those cages while my TL's went off enjoying themselves!

Then we got dragged in and, well it wasn't fun and we were glad when they telephoned The Missus to say we were ready to be collected!

OTL had been out for a couple of 'Meetings' and had plans for some 'Manufacturing' this after noon, so a lunchtime collection was OK by him!

Out we came at the speed of light, straight into the car and off we went down to the beach.

Now the 'Parlour' not only cuts our hair but they trim out claws and give us a real good soaking in a tin bath full of smelly suds. I mean, we come out sniffing like a Tarts Handbag!

After collecting us we headed off to the beach for our lunchtime stroll on the beach and.....................

Gerrofanwalksniff!

Theresnothinlikeaseaweedsniffupyerback!
We got our own back and if we could have found some fox poo we would have given that a try as well!

However, there wasn't, so we didn't, but we might next time!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss April, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret.

Plawn Clackers, Giggle Juice and TM Tiddly Again and The Vets!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss April, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret!

Wot a Weekend!

Saturday was OK, nice and gentle and all snoozy but Sunday and today are worth telling about!

Now, you remember Alun and Glynis, Old Two Legs cousin and his wife? Well, Saturday evening TM got a telephone call from Alun who ordered up his breakfast from TM.

Nothing wrong with that but he wanted it served at seven in the morning!

Negotiations took place and in the end it was agreed that breakfast would be served between eight and eight thirty!

Of course, when they arrived Alun complained that the bread 'Soldiers' were too big to fit into the boiled eggs!

TM then instructed him on what he should do with the 'Soldiers'!

And so started a super couple of days!

we had a walk down on the beach and Alun tried to tell us what to do, like, stand in line and all wee at the same time!

Yeah! On yer bike!

Come On! Get in Line!
OTL had some fun by moving so that it looks like the chimney was sitting on top of TM's head!

Us Woofers had fun digging holes and burying the rubber ball. Freddy asked if we could bury Wendy but in the end we decided that was not a good idea, especially as Wendy said she would catch us an bite our butts!

Go on, we can bury her next to the ball!
Now, yesterday, Saturday that is, I had a swim as well and was chasing the ball in and out of the water and I managed to swallow some of the water as I made a grab for the ball!

No real problem there but I did feel a little queasy when we got home and I retired to my bed in OTL's office.

While I was asleep I had this pain in my tummy and managed to wee all over the floor! OTL gave me a funny look as he cleared it up. I then followed him downstairs and felt the need for a cuddle so I snuggled down on his lap and fell asleep, that was until I did another wee!

OTL changed his shirt and made up a bed for me on the floor where I fell asleep again, until I did another wee!

OTL decided it was time to get a Vets view on what was happening but the vet was shut for the night. OTL sent an email to the group where he knows they open on a Sunday morning for a few hours.

So, Sunday morning, while Alun was trying to make his Eggy Soldiers work, OTL and I headed off for our appointment.

When we got there we were seen by the vet who normally sees us at the surgery near us!

That made me feel a little better but not by much!

You see I suffer from what OTL calls 'Blue Coat Syndrome' which means I get scared every time I see a vet 'cos that normally means I get stabbed or poked and pushed and pulled about!

Well, this time, after much questioning and fiddling with my bits, it was decided to leave it for a couple of days to see what happens and if I still carry on weeing in my sleep then it would be back to the vet on Monday (today).  Luckily enough I seem to be OK today so no vets today, just an email to say I'm OK!

Now, back to TM and Alun and Glynis and the bottles of Giggle Juice!

After the visit to the vet we got home and TM decided to celebrate with a bottle of Bubbly! Of course Glynis had to help and Alun said he would stick to the chilled beer in the fridge!

OTL had a cup of tea, not because he was feeling unwell, it was because later on he had to drive down the the Chinese Takeaway to get the evening meal!

Well, the bottles kept on arriving at the table and OTL was kept busy opening them and TM and Glynis were slurping away and all the time were laughing and talking and laughing and drinking and getting sort of 'Wobbly'!

OTL and Alun went off to get the meal while the decks were cleared and more room made for more bottles!

We all had a super meal, we had chicken Chow Mein and King Prawns and Beef Chow Mein and Noodles and Rice and Prawns and Shrimps and Loads and Loads of Plawn Clackers!

Holly and I made right little pigs of ourselves!

Mind you, all of the TL's were doing the same!

Finally OTL got out a tin of Shortbread and started to nibble and of course when he nibbles shortbread what does he do? Yep! Out comes the Malt Whisky!

As OTL had no plans to drive any more he was having fun racing the Angels to the bottom of the whisky bottle!

It's one of his most favourite games!

Well, the Giggle Juice certainly worked and there were loads of giggles and OTL went Angel Hunting with the Fly Spray 'cos he had left the back doors ope and the lights had attracted loads of buzzy insects and Angels!

This morning we were late getting up!

OTL took us down the beach and we all got a little damp with the rain that had arrived!

Why is it she can get away with rolling in a sniff?
The tide was out, so I didn't get a swim nor did I get one at lunchtime and OTL said I am banned from swimming for a week until my tummy settles down!

Back home Alun was playing games with Fred and Wendy with a Cat Tease which every one thought was great fun. Later, while OTL was cage cleaning Alun decided to play with Freddy again and was waving his finger above Freddy's head not realising that although Freddy looks like he has a tummy on him, he can still jump!

And jump he did!

Up he went, wrapped his front paws around Alun's arm and gave him a Ferret Kiss with his teeth!

Freddy's claws had dug into Alun's arm and had drawn a little blood! You know the wimp wanted a sticking plaster!

All that happens when OTL gets a Ferret Kiss is I give his wound a good lick and make it better!

We waved goodbye to Alun and Glynis as they headed off home with Alun still complaining about his arm, we should have told him that Freddy is trained to go for the throat, that will stop him teasing Freddy!

Lunchtime down on the beach the tide was out so there was loads of sand to dig in and I dug a good hole that Wendy decided to crawl into. That was until Holly came steaming along the beach, skidded and shoved loads of sand back into the hole, covering Wendy!

What the........................?
Well, she dug herself out and went looking for the culprit who had tried to bury her!

It wasn't me but Freddy and Holly as well as OTL were all suspects!

OK, Who was it?
I must admit, it was very difficult to refrain from laughing at her as she came out of the hole all covered in sand!

It was then that we spotted a Light Ship out to sea. Now a Light Ship has no engine, well, why would it want one? I mean, once it gets to where it is going it is anchored to the sea bed and just sits there flashing its light!

Off to shine a light at night!
We had a look on the computer program but couldn't see it on the screen, so maybe it was just shown as the ship that was doing the towing and there are loads of tugs running up and down the estuary, so it could be any one of them!

Back home to finish off today's work and get ready for tomorrow. OTL has got manufacturing and stuff to do plus take us to get our hair cut!

Busy, Busy, Busy!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss April, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret!

Snoozy Saturday!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss April, Miss Wendy and the Famous Freddy de Ferret!

It has been a fun day today, it started off when Old Two Legs went in to wake the ferrets before getting their breakfast.

They were all asleep!

Wendy was fast asleep in the corner bed and Freddy had climbed in with her. The only problem was, Freddy just couldn't make it into the bed fully!

Freddy left his paws outside!
We went down the beach with May and April and had a dig but being the weekend there were loads of tourists with woofers that  didn't know the rules!

The ferrets seemed to get picked up every few yards!

Not that it worried April but Miss May said she missed her morning jog!

So, no jogging and no pictures 'cos OTL was too busy watching the horizon for marauding woofers!

Lunchtime it was the same! Loads of woofers, off the lead and charging about!

I stayed in the water as long as I could while Holly sat on the beach trying to be above all the woofing!

I tried to rub off the water by rolling in the embers of an old fire that covered my back with loads of soot and other black stuff!

It sort of helped a little bit but I ended up looking like a very black woofer!

When we got home I got washed, all over, and there was no bit missed, but I'm back to my normal colours!

One thing we did spot was this hear strange looking ship heading up the Thames. The front end looked like it was pointing the wrong way!

Seriously Strange!

Flying the Bermudan Flag and called SF99!
We have looked on the Internet and see that it is classed as a 'Pleasure Craft!

It is now heading up the Thames, maybe they are stopping for a Kebab in town!

The Missus has been doing her Master Class today so we will be on guard up at the window waiting for OTL to bring her back home!

Tomorrow we are expecting visitors so Holly and I are supposed to be on our best behaviour, as if!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss April, Miss Wendy and Freddy de Ferret!
