Didn't it Rain!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here!

It's been one of those 'Yuk' days. Old Two Legs was awake early this morning, possibly because The Missus was up early and needed all the lights in the house turned on at the same time plus her morning exercise of running up and down the stairs to get rid of a few calories!

OTL took us over the old golf course and we all got very wet!

Back home it was the cleaning of the ferret cage that had OTL concerned. You see, with ferrets, when the have an upset tummy they do a poo that is not only green but rather smelly.

Miss Snowflake got infected at a ferret show and needed injections and looking after cos the did what are called 'Greenies' and once the vet got a whiff of the Greenies he opened all the windows in the surgery!

Well, anyway, Eric has done some 'Dark Greenies' which were a bit pongy if you shoved yor nose too close!

OTL has decided that Eric is on 'Strict Food' with no treets like Ferret Milk, Brambles Biscuits or Chicken strips.

On the other paw, Wendy can have what she wants 'cos she is cleaner than Donald!

Me, staying away from the Greenies!

Well, whenever we went out it was raining and even though OTL put on his Mountain Climbing Gor-Tex Over Trousers, His big waterproof coat and 'Old Geezer' hat and wellies, he still got wet!

One of the nice things was to see the leaves startng to turn and we are getting the colours of Autumn starting to come through.

Just before we sat down to write this blog, we all had to inspect the ferret cage and so far all poo looks 'healthy'. That is, no Greenies and no serious sniffs in the office!

Both ferrets are cuddled up together and snoring their tails off!

See you tomorrow and claws crossed that the rain has stopped!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

Us again!

 Hello Woofers!

Here we are back again. Sorry we have missed a few reports but we have been looking after Old Two Legs who hasn't been his normal self, but now he is back and firing on all cylinders we can get the computer out again!

Well, where were we, Oh yes, Scotland. One of the things we never understood was why The Missus takes so much crafting stuff. I mean, there she is, messing about in the awning sloshing ink and glitter all over the place, then chatting to the other campers and telling them just how talented she is!

I mean, all that means there isn't enough time in the day to come swimming with us!

   Tell Your Fortune Dearie?

Talk about the swimming and the beach, well it wasn't as crowded this year, I mean, we could see from Carradale to Arun and didn't spot anything on two or four legs!

OTL sat up a couple of nights to see if he could get a good shot of the Milky Way but to be honest, he had left the Fish Eye Lens at home so he missed out on a big wide panoramic vista!

Next time he will bring the correct lens!

It was great fun having loads of walks on the beach 'cos I could go in swiming every time the tide was in. Of course there was the stream which always had water in it so OTL could throw sticks in and then in I would go making as much of a splash as possible!

It get's deeper in the middle!

Of course, Holly didn't want to get her paws wet so she kept pinching my stick whenever I got  back to shore!

 Mine, Mine,Mine, Mine,Mine, Mine,Mine, Mine,Mine, Mine,Mine, Mine,Mine, Mine,Mine!

There is one thing about our holiday, TM and OTL always seem in a happy jolly mood!

The ferrets got walks along the sea shore and up at the high tide mark where there was plenty of grass to ferret around in and holes to sniff out. Eric said that he chased several monsters out from those holes but we thing he was telling porkies!

Eric describing just how big the monsters were and how there were so big they wouln't fit in the cage!

One of the problems with Eric is that he always gets into trouble without meaning to, I mean, all he had to do was walk along the back of the chair but he still managed to pull the wires out of the socket!

One of the dramatic things about Scotland is the weather. The saying is, 'If you don't like the weather, just leave it for half an hour and it will change' and to prove it, this happened over a period of twenty minutes!

First it came over a bit dark with some clouds galloping after the sunshine, then suddenly.......

Believe it or not, there is a rain shower behind that Rainbow and as quick as a flash the sky lit up!

  POW!

Then as soon as it appeared, it disappeared and we were all back to normal again!

Leaving TM in the awning sloshing the ink about, OTL took us out for a trip in the car up the coast a bit. We had fun climbing over the rocks and splashing through the streams the to be honest were just a little deeper than puddles!

Driving slowly down a single track road we spotted a pheasant in the field to the side of us, Holly reckons we should chase it 'cos pheasant tastes good when it's plucked and stuffed!

OTL said that there was no way Holly would be allowed out to do such a thing and anyway we could see Mrs Pheasant sitting on the wall giving us the old 'Hairy Eyeball'!

Fancy getting Plucked & Stuffed do you?

I must admit, that Mrs Pheasant looked mean enough to sort Holly out! We headed back to the campsite and we all enjoyed an hour or so sitting on the beach watching the tide come in.

Those boats were here last year!

One of the things about our holidays is that OTL doesn't want the ferrets and us woofers charging about the caravan when he is in the middle of cleaning the cages, so, just to keep him happy Holly and I have to sit on the bed until the cleaning is done!

I spy a ferret!

Mind you, when it is all done and the ferrets are put back in the cage, Holly and I get a present of a chew and boy do we both love a chew!

Just watch this!

Now, all this holiday stuff and OTL not feeling well we missed out on wishing Archie Babes TL a Happy Birthday, so, better late than never we present this ditty for her delectation!

On the count of nine...........One.........6............and............... NINE!

Happy Birthday Archie's Mum
Does your car go Brumm, Brumm
Birthday Cake makes your Tum, Tum
Blow rasperries out your Bum, Bum!

and not even a mention of Poo!

I'm going to have a lay down now cos my brain hurts!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret!

The Last Day!

 Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here!

Well my woofers, this is our last day at Carradale and tomorrow we have to head off to Gretna for a Chinese Take away!

Well, that doesn’t sound too bad!

Back to today, being it’s the last chance I will get until next Spring I decided to have a swim in the stream especially as the tide was out. Old Two Legs was throwing a stick for me to chase and a couple of times I actually landed on the far beach!

I was having so much fun but in the end even I was a little cold, in fact, I was shivering my tail off!

Back at the caravan I got the use of two Doggy Towels to dry off and warm my slim body!

Looking out of the window it reminded of when we arrived, like, the Poo Bin was overflowing!

We have got to remember this beach until next year, mind you, the water around Grain can get rather cold as we get closer to Christmas!

So, we are going to have an early night and OTL has promised to go easy on the Single Malt tonight and only a small amount of Short Bread!

Both Eric and Wendy decided to stay in bed and wake us up early tomorrow!

So, nite, nite everyone!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret!

Strange Skies!

 Hello Woofers!

It’s us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret!

Up here in sunny Scotland we have had just two chilly days and one overnight bit of rain. Not bad for a September in Scotland. It normally is horizontal rain and six feet snow drifts!

Being so mild means the ferrets get loads more walks than normal when we are at home ‘cos then it is either too hot and not good for ferrets or too wet and that’s not good for ferrets or indeed Old Two Legs!

Up here they have had long walks through the long grass at the. Top of the beach and they have ferreted their way all along the beach!

The only down side is that they are so worn out by the time they got back that they headed for the cage and went to sleep for hours!

Mind you, that leaves us with more time to search for the chicken strips they have both hid around the caravan!

Now, we had a strange thing happen yesterday after doing the blog, the sky turned all very strange, what do you think of it?

Now there is a rainbow picking up the reflection of the sunset on a bank of cloud containing loads of rain!

One of the best places to have a snooze, until The Missus kicks you off and pinches the blanket back again!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

Lazy Days are here!

 Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret back with you again but without any photos, sorry.

Old Two Legs has been trying to get down loaded from the camera, processed on a laptop running Windows and then passed onto an iPloddicus like wot we are writing the blog on at the moment.

He hasn’t been able to make it work and he is now calling all the computers rude names!

Mind you, us woofers don’t really care cos we get to go out and wee all the way along the beach and back again!

It has been all sun shine and clouds today, not much rain at all.

Eric has been trying to slide all along the caravan on his butt but is still getting carpet burns and when he tries to do it using the doggy towels he gets all in a knot and Miss Wendy gives him a punch in the ear cos he rolls on top of her!

Holly and I are normally on the bed keeping out of the way when she does this cos we don’t want her to pick on us and any way it would be too dangerous cos getting too near her tail will make her turn around and bite us on the nose and as OTL says, you mustn’t get into an arse kicking contest with a porcupine!

Holly and I are’s too sure what a porcupine is but it sounds like we shouldn’t get too close!

Yesterday we headed out for a ride along the coast and went passed Skipness Castle, which was miles down this very narrow road. Well, we got to get out of the car twice for a run down on the beach and a paddle in the stream running into the sea, even Holly got her paws wet!

Well, when we got there OTL saw the price of getting in plus the sign that said ‘No Dogs’ and said they could stuff the castle! He looked at the map and decided to carry on past the castle and on to the end of the road which didn’t  go anywhere. OTL thinking it may end in a car park and a path to the beach, slowly made his way down the road only to be met at the end by a gate which said ‘Private and Sod Off’!

Well it didn’t have any notices there saying that but if there was, that’s what it would have said!

There was a big garden with close cut grass and big pretty flowers which all looked very private an sod off!

So we did!

We have several more stops on our drive along the small road and stopped for more paddles and wee’s!

When we drove through Campbeltown OTL spotted that the distillery was open, so, screaming to a halt in a cloud of burning tyre rubber, he left us in the car and rushed into the distillery sales office to purchase two bottles of their finest twelve year old single malt whisky!

Last night and we suspect that tonight, we won’t be getting too much conversation out of OTL!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.
