Freddy gets Stabbed and we see another Strange Bird in the garden!

Hello Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

We had a super snooze last night, The Missus is off baby sitting and there was no bouncing or snoring or getting up a three to make a card!

Old Two Legs didn't move nor did Holly Chops and I'm sure I never moved either!

Well, I woke up in the same position I went to sleep in last night!

Down on the beach May and Eric decided that it was just too wet and the rain wasn't as comfortable as cuddle in OTL's arms!

Come on, let's rush him and crawl into his pockets!
Back home OTL cooked our chicken and even managed to make the skin all crispy!

Holly and I finished both bowls off in no time!

With full tummies there was only one place to go, up to bed!

We woke up at lunchtime ready for our run down on the Sea Wall and as the tide was in both Freddy and Wendy decided that it would be fun to have a paddle in the sea!

Freddy getting ready to dive into the sea!
Freddy ran down the beach but stopped just before the water came crashing up the beach! Freddy put his brakes on and managed to keep dry, except for his paws!

It's not as cold as it looks!
Back home we had half an hour before Freddy was due to see the vet and as we headed into the kitchen for a nibble from the biscuit bowl we spotted a Sparrow Hawk sitting on the fence looking for the birds that gather on the feeders in the garden!

Before we could get the camera our he had flown away.  Freddy called out that there was another bird by the pond and he called it a Frog Hawk 'cos it was looking for frogs!

Freddy doesn't get out in the garden too much so we had to explain that what he saw wasn't a real bird!

Freddy's Frog Hawk in Infra Red!
OTL did a bit of Fiddly Diddly and turned the picture into an Infra Red B&W photo!

Even after a bit of Fiddly Diddly it still looks cold!
All those leaves were a yellowish orange colour but in IR we wouldn't know!

Well, Freddy got stabbed and the vet says he need not come back for another three years! Lucky Ferret, Holly and I are still on the yearly dose!

Miss Wendy went with Freddy to hold his paw in case he got scared but after a slurp of Ferretone he didn't even feel the injection!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

A Day of Running Around!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here.

We have had a busy day today. You see The Missus is off for a weeks baby sitting and rather than drive herself she told Old Two Legs he had to take her!

Something about not liking motorways or getting lost in the back roads!

This means that we had to get our walks done at double speed and that is not good when your trying to have a wee!

We are still playing with the Infra Red camera and getting some really strange results!

How about this one?

Miss May looking like Snowflake except for her eye!
We tried to get Eric to change colour but he just stayed all B&W no matter how we tried!

Back home it was all rush and tear to get the cages done before heading off to the motorway.

Now, as normal, the back of the car was stuffed full of card making gear with just one small bag for a change of clothing. Is she going to do washing of her 'smalls' every day?

When we arrived there were the three monster woofers charging around, so OTL left us in the car while he unloaded everything. Then it was our turn to get a walk in the park for a wee or two before heading back home.

We got home in time to collect Fred and Wendy for their lunchtime walk but Freddy was more interested in staying cuddled up in OTL's arms 'cos he was a little cold!

Down on the beach OTL took some more pictures and this time he had a little fiddly diddly on the computer but not enough to set the world on fire!

No Fiddly Diddly!
Looking out to sea there is no Infra Red being reflected of anything so it all reverts back to B&W.

Wot? No IR?
Today it has been Doggy Scoff, not exactly the meal we wanted but it filled a hole and we may survive until tomorrow when there should be some chicken!

Off to bed now, the eye lids are feeling heavy and we are in need of a cuddle with OTL!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

A Seriously Lazy Day!

Yo! Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

We love Saturdays, Old Two Legs leaves all his bits of paper and the 'Work Computer' alone, cleans the cages out early and spends loads of time playing with the ferrets. Holly and I get a chance to catch up on our sleep by taking over the whole of the bed, stretch out and wrap ourselves in the duvet!

So today it has been a 'Nothing Day', you know, no work, no customers, no suppliers and OTL gets robbed every time he gets near to any nibbly type food. You know, biscuits or chews or a Marmite sandwich!

It will be a week or two before we get the camera back from the Service Centre, so it is all Black & White Infra Red!

Today we have not done any fiddly stuff to the pictures, these are just as they come out of the camera, except that we have cropped them for size.

What is interesting is the first shot of Sheerness docks comes out in B&W and shows no sign of Infra Red rendering.

Sheerness Docks on a chilly November morning.
Next shot is of Miss May who is officially a 'Silver' coloured ferret but the Infra Red makes her to be almost an Albino, except for a tiddly bit of black hair between her ears!

I know it's a bit fuzzy, it was cold and we were shivering!
On the beach it looked really cold, I mean, real Artic type of weather and the Infra Red picks out the plant life and the shells on the beach and turns them white.

Then it picks out the IR in the sky as well!

I don't care, it still looks like snow and frost!
The water is normally a sort of grey and brown colour but the IR picks out the reflection from the sky making it look like a reddy brown colour.

Looks more like the colour of OTL's tea!
Really, IR comes into it's own on sunny summer days and it all gets exciting but as it is nearly Winter we will have to get our thinking tails on to make it more interesting!

We heard OTL on the phone today to the vet, Freddy is due to get his Distemper Jab on Monday and OTL says that he will have to take the Ferretone with him 'cos the last time he was stabbed the vet had difficulty getting the needle through his tough skin!

An armour plated ferret!

See you all tomorrow and with a bit of luck it will be another Seriously Lazy Day!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Infra Red and Frost!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Do we have red muzzles or wot?

You know that parcel that arrived sniffing of Archie Babe? Well, it's not a prezzie!

We have been told that it is a Woofer Advent Calendar!

So, Thanks Archie Babe and we will be lining up on the first day of December to open the first door!

Now, we told you about Old Two Legs camera, and today he dug out the Infra Red camera and he has been trying to remember all the settings!

Well, it,s different!
First thing this morning there was a layer of frost everywhere and the windows in the car were all covered with ice!

Even the Sea Wall is cold!
With the Infra Red camera all the green grass looks white and frosty but the grass was really frosty, In fact May and Eric didn't really get down from OTL's arms until we were up by the bench on the hill!

Do you think it will warm up by lunch time?
Back home there was a big bowl of chicken which we soon demolished and went off for a snooze while the ferrets had their morning rampage.

At the lunchtime walk the sun had come out and the frost had disappeared but the camera made it look like the there was loads of frost still around.

Little Wendy on 'Frosty Sea Shells'
Freddy stayed cuddled up in OTL's arms until we got back to the football field then he got down for a run on the grass.

Freddy doing his exercise!
Holly and I went off sniffing the field and even though the frost had gone, when we looked at the photo it made us feel cold!

Just wait until the snow arrives!
Being Friday we decided to finish off early and get all the stuff down the Post Office and the carriers.

If the weather is kind to us we plan to do some gardening with OTL 'cos he has got to finish off the 'Wild Life' patch at the bottom of the garden. There is also all the leaves to clean up as well.

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

OTL has his Teeth Sorted!

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Now, there are times when life is just soooo good that you just got to have a dance and a race around the house!

Today it was the ferrets turn and the pair of them came flying out of the cage chasing each other around the office, jumping on each other and chuckling their tails off!

Gotcha!
Down on the beach the tide was in but it was rather gloomy out to sea. Although there was not a breath of wind but it was still gloomy!

Not exactly spectacular!
Back home we settled down to a snooze while the ferrets got sorted out.

We decided to go out early at lunchtime 'cos Old Two Legs had an appointment at the dentist which will be expensive and painful!

Miss Wendy was interested in the rocks especially as the tide had come in!

This is seriously wet!
Holly Chops wasn't interested in the water but she did go tearing up and down the beach!
Look at me, I'm flying!
We got back home in time for OTL to head off to the dentist and yes, it was both painful and expensive!

Poor Lad!

Now, while he was out the postman called with the letters and a parcel! We had a good sniff of the parcel and Holly declared that she could sniff Archie Babe!

We decided that the parcel was too small for Archie Babe to hide in so we had to decide what it was.

The Missus said that it was going to go under the Christmas Tree and we were to leave it alone until then!

Christmas Prezzie already?

Holly and I spent most of the afternoon sniffing the parcel and trying to guess what was in there!

OTL packaged up his camera that he takes out every day, it is going back to the manufacturer, Nikon, to get it serviced and some minor repairs.

He always uses this camera 'cos it is small and easy to use especially when you have two ferrets to control and still keep an eye open for other woofers who may want to eat a ferret!

So, the camera is all packaged up and ready to go off and the only other camera the same size is one he had changed to produce Infra Red pictures, so watch out tomorrow, it's B&W and Infra Red as well!

Could be interesting!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

A 'Hole' Lot of Fun for Miss Wendy!

Hello Woofers!

It's Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

You will be pleased to know that last night we all had a good nights sleep.

No Star Gazing!

This morning was just super down on the Sea Wall, almost no wind, in fact it was rather pushing it to call it a breeze!

Barely a breeze to ripple the Water!
Old Two Legs had his big coat and his 'Old Duffer' hat on and he found that half way around he had to stop for a rest as it was getting too hot!

Holly and I had fun on the beach, I dug a hole while Holly decided to do some sun bathing, only the sun wasn't out and all she got was a sandy nose and stern words from OTL for getting sand near to her eyes!

Get up or you will get Conjunctivitis, again!
Not that she took much notice!

Back home we could sniff chicken cooking so we were in a good mood, especially as yesterday it was Doggy Scoff!

Lunchtime down on the beach Miss Wendy beat us to the hole and she set about making it into a Ferret Hole that she could curl up and have a snooze!

I'll make this into a Proper Hole!
Unfortunately, OTL couldn't hang about and we had to leave and head for home 'cos he had some shopping to get!

Holly and I decided that it would be too boring just sitting in the car while he had all the fun!

Mind you, we had some fun searching under the sofa for the biscuits the ferrets left behind this morning!

Looking at the sky, all we can see is cloud, so I don't think OTL will be Star Gazing tonight!

See you all tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

How to Star Gaze OTL Style!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

Now, have we got a story to tell you, and it didn't happen today either!

You see, OTL purchased a telescope for looking at the stars with the intention of taking photographs of the planets. However, when he wants to look at the sky, there are clouds everywhere so he can't see a thing! He has taken it away with him on every holiday and every night it has been cloudy!

Back home it has been the same, loads of cloud and when there has been stars, everyone has had their bathroom/bedroom lights on and stargazing has been totally wiped out!

Last night there was a clear sky and only two neighbours had their lights on!

Nine fifteen arrived and The Missus starts heading for bed while OTL is assembling the telescope and attaching the camera to the adaptor port!

He sets up the scope on the patio, points it in the correct direction and switches it on.

It was then that he found out that the battery was flat!

A quick rush up to the loft resulted in a mains power supply and a lead that he used for his Amateur Radio stuff all working on 12v dc as required!

So, allowing for his eyes to get accustom to the dark he peered through the eyepiece to see........nothing!

The cloud had arrived and hidden all the stars!

OTL was not a Happy Woofer!

So, he hung about for a while and out came the stars but by the time he had set up the scope again....the clouds came back!

At that point he got fed up and started dismantling the setup only to find as he got close to taking the scope off the tripod, the stars came out again!

There he was assembling it all again and he got to look through the eyepiece and saw a star, just before the clouds came back and covered the stars!

By then he was a Cold Woofer and decided that he had enough of star gazing and went to bed.

That was at midnight!

We were late in getting up this morning!

No sunrise, just clouds!

Down on the beach we had missed all our normal mates and there were some woofers we don't see too much, mostly noisy woofers who spent all the time yapping!

Just look at those Bozo's!
Miss May had fun digging on the beach and even chased Eric down to the water edge but he got all wimpy and rushed back up the beach when a wave washed over his paws!

This is how it's done!
Miss May was showing him that if he stood just a couple of inches back the waves wouldn't make his paws wet but by then he was half way up the beach and heading for the grassy path

Talk about Eric the Brave!

Look, they can't get you here Eric, Eric, where are you now?
This afternoon it was all manufacturing and then delivering and then off to the carrier, so Holly and I made use of the time had went into the office, curled up on our cushions and enjoyed a super snooze!

We are not sure what OTL is going to do tonight, it will all depend on the clouds!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Chilly around the Haircut!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

You can tell the Winter is on it's way, Old Two Legs was all wrapped up in his new coat and he had a scarf wrapped around his neck and his warm woolly hat on 'cos this morning it was blowing in from the North!

The sea looked all dark and grey and the waves had white horses riding on their shoulders!

Mucky water from The North!
Eric was enjoying himself, playing 'Hunt the Nargle' in among the rocks on the beach.

What was that? I'm sure it was a Nargle behind that rock!
We were glad to get back home 'cos that wind was definitely getting places where it was not wanted, especially when the wind was blowing from behind!

It was at times like this that I wish the haircut had been delayed for a week or so!

Back home Auntie Shirley had arrived to play 'Glue Slapping' with The Missus so we left them to it and headed up stairs to OTL's office to have a snooze before the lunchtime walk arrived!

The tide was out when we got back to the beach and Holly spotted a load of Two Legs out on the mud half way towards the Fort.

We couldn't see what they were doing and it was too far away for OTL's little 35mm lens, even after zooming in on the camera!

Holly says that they might be digging for worms or the local TV station might be doing some interviews about the Fort!

We were guessing  and OTL said that there was no way he was going out to see what they were doing!

Maybe they were hunting Nargles?
Freddy and Wendy decided that the whole thing was just too boring and headed off back to the car!

Out of my way, here comes a Ferret!
TM has been trying out the Dehydrator again and has dried some Kale, problem is, it's like eating dry grass! Next time she will try getting some larger leaves and slosh on some more Black Pepper and Lemon Juice, just to see if that gives it a bit more 'Bite'!

So far the apple is OK and The Pear is good and the Orange is great, next it will be a Banana sliced up, not sure if she will put on any Black Pepper though!

Us woofers are all waiting for the Chicken Fillets we have been promised, we don't do Kale or Apple we'd rather have meat!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Poor OTL!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are, back again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Now, I know you want to know why we didn't blog yesterday.

It wasn't my fault!

Honest!

You see, Old Two Legs has been doing a bit of gardening and as he is now old and grumpy, he is not up to all this digging like wot he used to be. Yesterday it was a Two Co-Codamol day and after visiting young Rosie up at the village hall, he fell asleep in his comfy chair at home and didn't wake up until late, which normally would be no trouble but he has changed to password on the laptop and hasn't told me what it is!

I think it was because the ferrets tried ordering a ton of frozen chicken legs but it failed when they tried to use his credit card and found out he had changed the password on that as well!

Well, his back is still bad'ish and yesterday I got away with not having a shampoo & set, but that was yesterday.

Today is different!

Today I got washed, sploshed, blasted and shave to within an eight of an inch of my skin, well it feels like that!

The day started off well enough, we had a fun walk down on the beach, OTL clicking away at the sunrise that had finished an hour ago!

Looking for a sunbeam!
Little Eric wanted to know why it was still dark and Holly told him all about Neutral Density Filters and White Balance Adjustments but by then he had gone to sleep saying that maybe it was just because it was dark!

Why can't she just say it's dark?
Well, for a change, OTL got all the hair cutting stuff into the kitchen and set about hacking all my hair off in all my important places and there was no place he missed!

He was using the electric shaving thingy which was OK when he was working down my back end but I just don't like it around my shoulders and head and I must admit, I showed off a bit!

So, like last time, he went work with the scissors, trimming bits off hair off my legs and under my chin and on top of my head  and around my paws and my ears!

It took a while and he was even sneaky enough to get to trim my claws a little!

In the end I didn't look too bad and at our lunchtime walk I got him to take some pictures of me.

This is my 'Wind Blown' look!
Now, never mind Eric and his tail, just look at my tail!

Now 'This' is a Tail!
After the walk we got home to the second part of the fun and games, we all had the anti flea stuff put on our shoulders. All the ferrets and Holly and I.

That stuff sniffs horrible and the ferrets don't like it and neither do Holly and I, but as it keeps the nasties away we will have to suffer!

This afternoon we settled down to watch the F1 racing which is always exciting!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Ferrity Friday!

Hello Woofers!

It's us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss April, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

We love Fridays, Old Two Legs tries to get everything sorted and packed away by lunchtime. All the bills are paid and the accountant has been contacted and answers given to any queries OTL has!

Today he even went out into the garden and carried on digging up all the bramble roots in the 'Wild Life' section that has not produced any seriously interesting wild life except one little frog, ten thousand wood lice and several hundred snails!

OTL has plans that will include a plastic sheet to stop any further growth and a load of rocks that will hold the plastic sheet down and finally some large stone pots that will hold flowers that produce long lasting flowers for the bees and other insects.

There will be the pots where Snowflake, Brambles, Miss April and Miss Wilma are sleeping. There will be a sort of rock garden made from some rocks left over from the 'Pond' and that may hold some alpine stuff. Well, that is the current plan!

Mind you, we have a small problem, all this digging has caused OTL's back to ache. It is a Two Paracetamol ache at the moment but could develop into a Two Co-codamol back ache!

We will get a better idea when he tries to get out of the chair this evening and go to bed!

Tomorrow will be interesting, I'm due for a Shampoo & Set!

Like Holly Chops, OTL plans to shower me, then dry me with the Blaster and finally trim all my excess hair with the electric hair trimming machine. Well, that's the plan but if I show off we could have OTL giving me a trim using just the scissors!

At least it won't be cold 'cos we have permission to bring the Grooming Table into the kitchen and do it all there. At least it will be warm and bright, unlike the shed where we have been doing it in the past.

The Missus has been experimenting with the Dehydrator Thingy and has been working on some Granny Smith apples and has plans for some other fruit over the weekend. Now, if they dry out grapes you get sultanas and if you dry plums you could get prunes! We are waiting until we get to the 'Beef Jerky' 'cos I reckon the ferrets and us will love them!

Freddy says he is looking forward to some chicken strips, just like the stuff he has as a treat after they go back to the cage after the morning rampage!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss April, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.
