Snow!

Yo Woofers!

Us here again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Well what a knight we have had, yesterday The Missus came back from the village hall complaining about a sore throat and being 'Short of Breath'!

She retired to bed early but by the time we got to bed she was doing that annoying 'Mini Cough'.

That went on most of the night and she kept waking us up!

I think that a cough syrup is on the cards!

So, very early this morning Old Two Legs couldn't stand it and up he gets for him morning shower.

You know, it was so early that the heating hadn't switched on yet!

It's OK about getting up early but it also means we are out before it gets light!

Now a run in the dark is always fun but on the way down to the beach, it started to snow!

Well, it ain't Dandruff!
So coupled with the snow and the wind and the rain, Holly and I did the quickest 'wee and a poo' walk we have ever done!

Back home we got a rub down to dry off the wet and headed off to the bedroom for a snooze to catch up on our missed sleep!

OTL went into the office and let May and Eric out for a run and while they were taking a break by resting in the travel cage, OTL told them about the quick walk and the lightening quick poo!

Eric was laughing his whiskers off as OTL relayed the tale!

Wot a pair of potty puppies!
We waited until the sun came up before looking out of the window, the snow was still there but it didn't last too long and by the time the cars got to drive up and down the road it was melting away!

The first snow of Christmas!
We left OTL to get on with some work before heading out again for the beach.

On the way out we noticed that the snow had almost gone, but we sniffed the wind and Holly said there was some more of the white stuff on it's way!

She has got a good nose like that!

Sure enough, half way around the walk, the snow started again!

That was it, home was calling and a nice soft bed!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

A Day for Snoozing on the Sofa!

Hi Woofers!

We are back again!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Well, the weather man got it right this time, blooming cold it was this morning!

In fact the ferrets all decided that they would stay at home today and let us woofers out on our own!

We let The Missus take the small car up to the village hall on her own 'cos Old Two Legs said that he fancied testing the heated seats in the big car!

Both Holly and I tested the passengers heated seat and it passed the test!

There is nothing like a warm tail when you are sitting in a cold car!

There were no clouds in the sky so that means frost on the grass and on the sand and on the benches!

It also means the sunrise will have some amazing colours as well!

We made it before the sun today!
Both Holly and I had our 'Flying Jackets' so we were not too cold and the frost on the long grass kept away from our tummies!

It also means I can get a roll on the sand as well!

Coming back we stopped at the bench on top of the hill and OTL got all 'Arty' with the camera and took a picture of the bench top.

Trouble was, he forgot that the large aperture on the camera means a shallow depth of field and you can see the camera is focused up on the centre of the bench and everything else is 'Soft Focus'!

Well, you can see the frost anyway!
We decided that OTL had earned a rest and as TM wasn't around to tell him off, we enjoyed a DVD until lunchtime when it was time for a trip down the beach again.

OTL had been thinking about the bench and when we got to it he set up the camera on the bench with an aperture of F22, focused on the centre of the bench again and set the shutter release to delay for five second, placed the camera on the bench and stood back!

Click!

Now, all we need is a sunrise, a few clouds and some more frost!
OK, the bolt heads in the foreground are not in focus but the rest looks OK!

As he didn't have his mobile phone with him, he didn't have his program to set the depth of field but it don't look too bad!

We took a look at the program and at the settings, the closest focus is 65mm which would be just the other side of the bolt heads and the far focus would be 2.149m, that's why the ship is out of focus!

Oooo! Don't you just love it when we get all technical?

Tomorrow we are expecting it to be a little warmer so the ferrets can come out with us!

Bye bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Woofin' Cold and it's getting Colder!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

I don't know what it is like your end of the world but we are getting to realise that Winter is really here! I mean, we are sort of in line with the North Sea and any wind coming down there has nothing to bump into until it reaches us!

This morning it looked like it might be mild outside, like, no ice, no frost and the trees gently swaying in the wind.

Holly and I were well up for a run but Old Two Legs made us wear our 'Flying Jackets' as if!

Then he opened the front door................WHAT?

It was Cold and Damp!

It was more than cold, it was Woofin' Cold!

It's a good job we have a heater in the car!

We didn't hang about on the walk but it was OTL who was dragging his tail, taking photo's of the sunrise. It seems that the colour capture on this new box of bits is better than the old camera!

This is heading down the path towards the beach.
We rather like the colours of the sky against the black of the trees.

When we got down to the beach, the sun was just over Sheerness so OTL rattled off a couple of shots before shouting to me to 'Get Up'! You see with that jacket on I do enjoy a really good roll in the sand especially a sniffy bit of sand!

Just behind I'm having a great roll in a patch of sniffy sand!
We didn't hang about too long and were quickly back in the car and heading for home!

We made sure the chicken was in the oven before sneaking off for a snooze under OTL's desk.

We had a visit from the accountant geezer and while he and OTL were discussing boring stuff Holly and I had our noses deep in a bowl of chicken!

Our lunchtime walk was equally as fast as the morning walk and OTL made a discovery, it seems that the new camera is not so quick on the auto focusing. He took a picture of Holly and I and the focusing wouldn't keep up with us!

Maybe it was because it was just too cold!

When we stopped at the beach you could tell it just wasn't the day for a swim!

No! I'll pass on stick chasing in the water thank you!
Looking at the weather forecast for the weekend, it looks like it is going to be cold and windy but all the snow will be staying up country. So, we won't be able to introduce the ferrets to the fun of diving in the snow!

Maybe later in the year!

See you all tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

It's missed us!

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

It's been a bit Yuck today, well the weather has been yucky.

We have been lucky to have missed Storm Caroline who has been doing some serious stuff up in Scotland!

Down here is was mild first thing but it looked sad across the Medway to Sheerness!

Not the most interesting view!
Eric and May decided to stay in Old Two Legs arms until they got to the top path mainly 'cos the grass was wet and their tummies are close to the ground! You know, there is nothing worse than a wet tummy!

Back home Holly and I retired to the bed while OTL got going on his morning jobs, poo shovelling!

Lunchtime came and OTL was studying the weather looking for a 'Window' in the rain that was managing to make everything wet!

The wind was picking up as well but not 80mph!

I just don't do rain!
Holly decided that the best thing to do is to get on with the walk as quickly as possible especially as Fred and Wendy decided to stay at home!

Out of my way, Woofer coming through!
OTL was trying to work his camera but he hasn't yet got the idea how to make sure the focusing keeps up with  us!

We have decided that you had better turn off your sound 'cos the wind sounds horrid!

We have suggested that OTL needs one of those pointy type of microphones that he got for the video camera. So, he is looking on the Internetty to see what is available!

Now, you know Holly Chops has been suffering from a Grumbly Tum and OTL has restricted her food intake to just Brambles Biscuits, which she and the ferrets love!

Well, Holly got promised a big bowl of chicken providing her tum was better today.

OTL did some inspecting of the Poo Bag he used to clear up after Holly and said that it looks like she has managed to get over her tummy trouble.

So, there we were, home again and looking forward to a big bowl of chicken.

Well, we got a big bowl.................................of Doggy Scoff!!!!!!!!!

It was The Missuses fault, she didn't get the chicken out of the freezer early enough!

Doggy Scoff............Yuck.......YUck........YUCk...........YUCK, Blooming YUCK!

There will be no cuddles for her tonight!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

So, Where is the Manual?

Hi Woofers!

It's us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

It's still mild weather here in North Kent. Mind you, the lady on the TV says that it is going to get colder tomorrow and something about Storm Caroline doing something at ninety miles an hour in Scotland.

I'm glad we aren't in Scotland at the moment!

We have been helping Old Two Legs work out what all the buttons do on his new camera, some we know from the other cameras but there are one or two new ones, like, a big letter ' i ' that tells him the setting but he hasn't worked out how to change the settings!

We did suggest the obvious, RTFM and just in case you don't know, it means Read The Flipping Manual!

It's an OTL thing that the very last thing he does is to reach for the Instruction Manual and as there was no manual with the camera he had to go onto the Internetty to find a down load.

That was great, except that the manual is 384 pages long and he doesn't fancy printing it, so he has downloaded it in the form of a .PDF file and keeps scanning up and down searching for the next bit he doesn't understand, only sometimes he doesn't understand the technical answer!

So far we have got to take some pictures of the ferrets, Holly and I.

This sand is rather cold this morning!
Holly and I found this strange sniff which turned out to be one of those worms the fishermen teach to swim!

I know it's not moving but that sniff could shift a house!
Eric is getting fatter, furrier and whiter every day! Just look at that face!

My face may be white but my tail is still black!
We had to take some stuff down to the carrier at lunchtime so our lunchtime walk was a little late which really didn't bother us too much.

OTL had found out how to work the movie buttons but first tried the 'White Balance' on the clouds over on Sheppy!

Clouds over Sheerness.
As we went across the football field he tried out the 'Movie' button! The only problem is, this blog only allows a certain amount of movie and of course, OTL exceeded the allowance! Maybe we will try again tomorrow!

However, try this quick movie that sort of worked in the camera but we are not sure it works on the blog!

Claws crossed, click on the button!

I seem to remember that we need to upload it to Yoo Toob, so if it doesn't work, don't worry, OTL will just have to RTFM!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

New Camera's Here, Almost!

Yo! Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

It seems a little colder today, well neither pair of ferrets were too keen to go for a swim or even run on the beach! All they did was have a little jog at the end of the walk!

Sorry to see Archie Babe has got to get his butt squeezed, still, it will be all ready for Christmas!

Talking of butts, Holly Chops has got the Grumbly Tum and Old Two Legs has got a great idea to help her get rid of it. Instead of going to the vet and getting the Bunger Upper stuff, OTL is saying that Holly's inside should have a chance to get rid of all the bugs inside her tummy by cutting down on her food intake, especially treats and nibbles and all the stuff she normally gets to put away in a day!

So, he has decided that she is on 'Strict Rations' for a couple of days to see what effect it has. Just the Brambles biscuits and water.

Poor Holly, she just 'aint going to like that one bit!

Mind you, OTL says that won't do me any harm either! Wot? No Nibbles? No Advent Calendar Biscuits? No Cheese and Biscuit after dinner?

Oh! Wow is me!

OTL was all excited 'cos his camera arrived and he has been all over it looking at the different buttons and stuff while the battery charges up. Only one small problem, the battery won't charge!

Onto the telephone to Nikon UK who did the expected thing, 'Wot? Are you sure? Do you know what you are doing?

OTL then went into technical speak and mentioned High Speed LED Flashing, Residual Voltages and other important sounding things. Result was he has to send the battery and the charger back to be checked and replacement given. So, he could be without a the camera until next week.

Luckily he had ordered a couple of new batteries from Duracell and they arrived today, so he is charging them up before sending off the duff battery and the not so duff charger tomorrow.

He got them to arrange for them to be collected instead of sending batteries in the post!

He has put one on charge and the other he put in the camera just to test the camera and check on the settings.

Freddy trying to get some snoozing done but being interrupted by a flashing camera light!
So, it's all coming together and it won't be long before we get some photos back up on the blog!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

The Washing Machine is here!

Hello Woofers!

The Gangs here! Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

It's been one of those 'Busy but Doing Nothing Days'!

You see Old two Legs has been messing about with bits of paper to feed to the accountant, I'm sure I don't know what he does with them, maybe he eats them!

The Missus has been playing with reams of paper and card that have been delivered ready for the Master Classes!

The ferrets have been trying to get in trouble.

Let me explain. You see OTL had to take the old washing machine out yesterday and that leaves a whacking great hole in the kitchen which, if you are small and furry, you can disappear into and ferret your way around the back of all the appliances in the kitchen. Now, yesterday it didn't matter 'cos the ferrets were in bed when the machine came out but today, there is a big hole and nothing to stop a ferret from having fun!

OTL and TM tried to block the hole up but little May made short work of finding a way through the maze of wire and stuff and disappeared under the fridge in a flash!

It was lucky that the bottom cover comes away 'cos once the ferret is in there, she could go all over the place and even fall asleep behind the cooker!

Any one for roast ferret?

So, the ferrets were banned from the kitchen and the water bowl and some Brambles Biscuits were moved to the lounge where OTL immediately tripped over them an soaked the carpet!

Water and Biscuits were moved back into the kitchen and ended up in the bin!

The machine arrived at lunchtime, just as we were heading off for a walk but the delivery lads were in a rush so the machine came in and the old one got taken away all within five minutes!

The afternoon has been spent on more bits of paper and the washing machine is in the middle of the kitchen floor!

OTL has just gone down stairs with a fist full of tools so we can expect some fun and games when he installs the machine!

We will let you know how it turns out tomorrow!

Bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Busy Busy!

Yo! Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Wot a busy day today, we were woken up far too early by all the noise being made by The Missus getting ready for her Master Class!

Old Two Legs had his instructions, so, we were set for a busy day!

Down on the beach we had a visit from a reasonably new woofer on the block and she was a sort of cross terrier and spaniel type, crazy as they come!

First she started woofing her tail off and next she tried sniffing my butt without the proper introductions!

That was it, I let her have the full 'warning woof' with snarls and growls thrown in as well!

Soon sorted her out!

It was rather mild down on the beach and the ferrets both had a little dig.

Back home OTL sorted out our chicken but it was all cold, TM just doesn't do it the way OTL does and it wasn't even crispy on the skin!

Mind you, after yesterdays Doggy Scoff we would eat almost anything!

In our garden we have a plant that needs to be trimmed every autumn and this year OTL has left it a bit late but today he not only cleaned up all the leaves in the garden, he also filled two wheelie bins full of the clippings!

He also scraped a load of leaves off the top of the pond and even shoved the grass rake down into the bottom of the pond to get out some of the rotten leaves, PHEW! WOT A STINK!

I can see that soon he is going to clean the pond out and get rid of the stuff at the bottom of the pond, wild life or no!

After that it was walkies time and on the way out we stopped off at the village hall with Eric who wanted to say 'Hello' to Auntie Di!

Auntie Di says that Eric is her favourite and we reckon that is cos he has a 'Cheeky Face'!

Back home again it was time to disconnect the washing machine and drag it out to the front of the house to await the delivery men tomorrow.

It's amazing just how much muck seems to have gathered under the machine, including bits of smashed glass from when TM has dropped glass things!

Still, tomorrow will be fun when OTL installs it all and we get to see our bedding blankets being washed!

See you all tomorrow.

Oh, by the way, there were another three bone biscuits in the Advent Calendar, maybe they change the biscuits after the first week?

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

It's all getting closer!

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Well now, out we went first thing this morning and it was almost balmy weather! I mean, like, NO WIND!

And I'm not talking about Holly's problem!

The sea was flat with barely a wave and at times the sun poked it's  head around the clouds!

Today The Missus pinched the little car to take all her stuff up the village hall for a Master Class. It really amazes us just how much she takes and then doesn't come back with more than three cards!

We had fun at home. Old Two Legs finally managed to clear a space in the lounge and set about putting together a 'set' so he can take a picture for us to use on our Christmas Card, like wot we always do each Christmas.

If you remember last year, OTL had to take three pictures and merge them together so it looks like we are all in the same place. Well. this year he had plans and that involved seven pictures!

We all went on, one at a time and did our 'Pose' !

It was so funny 'cos all the ferrets were worried about was food and were looking the wrong way!

Holly and I were looking at food as well, in the opposite direction!

You know, OTL used up two freshly charged batteries in his camera before getting some pictures that just manage to look as though he could work with them!

Wot do 'they' say?

Never work with Animals and Two Legs!

Too right!

Next we had to fill up the ink pots in the printer. I never knew there were so many different colours!
You know he has Nine colours in his printer, ten if you include white, which really is 'No Print'!

Once we get the nod from TL it will be back to the printer to run off a couple of thousand for our fan club!

Last year TM said she should start making our cards around July time but when we reminded her she said it was 'All in Hand'.

Of course it wasn't and now she will be working through the night for the next couple of weeks to get them all done!

We had a look and a nibble of door two, there were only three biscuits in our door, mind you, they were tasty which is more than can be said for the Doggy Scoff we got served up with today, YUK!

OTL has been reading all about taking photographs of plants and stuff using Ultraviolet Fluorescence Light Source! Looking at the adverts for the light source we find it is also used to pick out dodgy pound notes and dog wee on carpets!

I wonder if ferret wee will show up!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

We get to look in the door!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Well, it has finally arrived, the 1st of December, the first day of Winter!

We were out a bit later today but it didn't help 'cos the wind was blowing from the north and it was COLD!

At one time I thought I was weeing icicles!

The ferrets decided to stay in the ferret bag and have a cuddle with Old Two Legs left hand 'cos it was like a hot water bottle! Mind you, OTL got them out as we got close to the car but they both rushed back to the bag and climbed back in!

When we got home they had a rampage around the house ducking and dooking all over the place and saying that the inside of the house is certainly preferable to a cold sandy beach!

OTL got confirmation that they had found a camera so he had to get his credit card out and pay the nice lady on the other end of the telephone line.

Poor OTL didn't know whether to laugh or cry so he just had a little snivel and a look at the instruction manual and in the end he cheered up! Now he has something to look forward to on Monday!

Lunchtime comes and there is blue sky outside but we don't get caught out on that one, OTL gets wrapped up in his big warm coat and pulled the ear flaps down on his woolly hat!

It was still cold but the ferrets decided to stay in the bag until we got back to the football field where the trees and bushes blocked the wind. Both Freddy and Wendy enjoyed a little jog across the field until they got to the car, it was then that they jumped into OTL's arms again and snuggled down until they got back into the travelling cage where OTL had put some big soft blankets.

Back home it was time for our treat!

Day one of the Advent Calender!

OTL made a bit of a song and dance getting the wrapping off and opening the first door, then there was the inside which was all sealed up as well! Finally we found out how to get in, poke it with your claw!

Inside were three little bone shaped biscuits looking the same colour as Choc Chip Cookies, but smaller and looking bone shaped as I said before.

They didn't last too long, Holly and I chomped them down in no time at all!

Now, what is behind door number two?

The ferrets offered to dig into the back of the box to find out for us but we reckon they might just have a nibble and then run off not only with the treat but both boxes!

We'll let you know tomorrow!

Bye bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.
