Monday and it's Wet!

Hi There Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

It has been a typical Monday morning, you know, dark, grey and wet! Mind you, we did notice that the flowers were out on the Gorse Bushes!

Too late for the sunrise but the flowers are still here!
When we looked at the sunrise it sort of contained everything from red sunrise through to sunny blue sky's!

Everything in one shot!
Even Sheerness looked a little dramatic!

Sheerness with 'Atmosphere'!
Back home we had a game of 'Trampoline' using Old Two Legs bed! Holly tried jumping up and down of The Missuses pillow but it wasn't the same so she curled up and had a snooze instead!

The ferrets had a great time and young Eric was tearing around searching for nibbles in the sofa mechanicals!

Lunchtime he was wide awake and rattling the cage door, he just couldn't wait to get out and have a rampage on the Sea Wall!

Mind you, they didn't find any little hairy things to chase!

No Shrews or Mouses or Rats or Weasels or Stoats!
However, they did go sniffing for moles but couldn't decide on which mole hill to dig, so instead they headed for the car and some nibbles when they got home, before going to sleep!

I'd rather nibble a bit of dried chicken than bite a moles tail!
OTL was busy this afternoon and I helped him when he needed to go into the loft to get some stuff. Like Archie Babe, I was on guard duty keeping all the Nargles back in their holes and allowing OTL to dig out his stuff!

We have heard that it's going to get a bit chilly this coming weekend so we will have to make the most of the warmish weather  before the chilly bits start!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Our Froggies go a Woo'ing Ho!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Well mates, we reckon Spring is really here now. Today we have seen flower blooms and froggies making Tadpoles!

Yep! We have counted seven frogs in the pond and two were having a sort of cuddle, Old Two Legs said they were 'Making Tatpoles'!

Passing on the DNA?
We counted a total of seven frogs in the pond, so, we are expecting a load of frog spawn soon and providing they don't get eaten by the Dragon Fly Larvae, we expect some increase in the frog count, which means OTL will have to do some planting to make frog houses all over the garden!

A Two up Two Down with a swimming pool would be nice?
It's funny but we haven't heard any croaking from these frogs, not like wot we hear from the frogs on the marshes during the summer. Our frogs sort of just sit there in the water until it's their turn to make tadpoles!

It's the waiting that scares me, I mean, like just how long do we wait?
We got a new feeder for the finches, it's a feeder for Niger Seed and has a cover to keep the rain and squirrels out!

As we don't get any squirrels it will have to put up with the rain!

It's a dead posh feeder we got now!
This morning down on the Sea Front there was no sunrise, just clouds and grey!

Not the most exciting thing that will happen today!
One good thing we saw, Daffodilly Blooms! Next door planted some Daffs and this year they have come up just in time for Mothers Day!

Can we pick some for giving to The Missus as a Mothers Day Prezzie?
Lunchtime we took Eric and May out for a run with us and of course, there were loads of Sunday Woofers playing about on the Sea Front, so it was a case of 'Keep Picking up the Ferrets'!

They did enjoy another scrabble in the Mole Hills and it was young Eric that did his share of digging while Miss May stood to one side giving him 'Instructions'!

OTL didn't take his camera 'cos he changed the lens to the big zoom 28<300mm and found he couldn't carry two ferrets a ferret bag and a camera all at the same time!

We have had our afternoon snooze, so it's off to see what is for dinner, steak and chips if we are lucky or Doggy Scoff if we are not!

We reckon that Archie Babe should come down here for a holiday 'cos we got loads of stuff he can chew. Let's face it, Eric can demolish a whole bag of Smoothies in one pass and Wendy can move a couple of pounds of Brambles Biscuits in five minutes!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Do Ferrets Hibernate?

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Now, you know we haven't taken the ferrets out for some time on account that it has been too wet, too cold, too dark and too snowy?

Well today Eric and Miss May asked if they could come out with us at the lunchtime walk?

Old Two Legs said that he would see what the weather was going to be at lunchtime and let them know.

Freddy and Wendy said that they would pass on the walk and instead stay in bed where it was warm and snugly!

This morning we were up early 'cos The Missus was off to one of her Master Classes and she always gets up early for that and of course, wakes everyone else up at the same time!

Down on the Sea Wall OTL was waiting for the sunrise but it really didn't happen, too much cloud!

Mr Sunshine is hiding behind the cloud!
Not exactly the best sunrise, but different!

OTL was using his 24-85mm lens that is given away with the camera when you buy it at the shop and it really is a bit of a 'Cheap' thing that doesn't perform like some of his other lenses.

He has decided to change it for tomorrow, but today, he will carry on using it, just to remind himself of what it performs like!

We spotted some Black Headed Gulls on the breakwater trying to look all threatening like.

Some hope!

Do you remember Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds?
Lunchtime, good as his word, OTL woke Eric and May from their slumbers!

It was fun watching them enjoying the sniffs. Miss May was more enthusiastic than Eric, but that's not unusual!

I sniff Mouses and Shrew!
It took a little while for Eric to join in the fun but by the time we had got to the mole hills he was well up for a Mole Hunt!

Miss May was digging like mad, the earth was flying all over the place and Eric was joining in the digging as well!

There is nothing so wonderful as digging for Moles!
Of course, by the time they had got near to the Mole Hole, the mole had disappeared back down the tunnel and was making his lunchtime snack of Worm on Toast!

We had a relaxing afternoon watching some TV and enjoying a big bowl of chicken, followed by a Teeth Cleaning Chew that went down a treat!

OTL plans to watch the England, France rugby match later so he will be jumping up and down!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

We get a Reprieve!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

Hey Archie Babe, sorry to hear Mrs Boy has gone back, still, you can still get cuddles and just think, more room in the bed!

We got up a little late this morning and that means we had to fight the traffic coming in the opposite direction, like buses and coaches and cars all fighting for room on the narrow road through the village.

Three times we were shoved into the snow by the side of the road! As Old Two Legs says, 'Those Buggers are bigger than us!'

One good thing was the sun, it just managed to poke it's nose through the clouds and for the briefest of moments it landed on a sail boat heading out to sea!

Catching the Morning Tide.
As soon as the sun arrived , it disappeared again and it all went back to grey and cloudy!

The dustbin men called today, they haven't been around for a couple of weeks 'cos of the snow. It was great fun standing up at the bedroom window giving them the Full Woof!

Lunchtime OTL suggested that Freddy and Wendy should come for a walk with us but it got the 'claw down' from them 'cos they were just too tired after spending most of the morning rampaging around the house!

We'll pass on that kind offer, but thanks all the same!
Holly got all interested in the mole hills again and swore she could sniff the mole, but we still didn't see it!

I sniff a Mole and it's down this Hole!
OTL said she could make up a song about that!

On our way back a little bouncy woofer came tearing up woofin' his tail off. OTL crouched down and  gave him a stroke. Then the woofer spotted Holly and I and came tearing over to say hello. Trouble was, he wanted to do some sniffing without our permission, so that ended in him being told to Woof Off!

Some woofers just don't have any manners!
First Holly and then me gave him the 'Woofers Warning' and in the end he went  back to OTL!

The Tesco man came to call today and now we can sniff Chicken Brest being dried in the dehydrator thingy wotssit.

More nibbles tonight!

Now, OTL had plans to wash and shave us over the weekend but that has been put on hold for a week or so. You see, when OTL and Holly went off to learn how to give us  groom at the local Agricultural College Holly had to wear an elastic head band that stopped her ears from flopping about when OTL turned on the Mega Blaster to dry her off. The elastic thingy stops her ears from flapping and stops her getting all upset. OTL has been looking for these for ages and yesterday he finally found a web site that sold them!

He has ordered up two sets and says that they should be delivered by next weekend and he'll hold off giving us the full treatment until then.

Result!

See you all tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

It's wot they call 'Blustery'

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

We were watching the weather forecast this morning and were informed that there would be 'Blustery Showers'. Now, I've heard of Heavy Showers and Light Showers and even Occasional Showers but this is the first time we have had Blustery Showers!

Holly has got a better, all encompassing description.

All showers are WET!

I was having a small snooze under the office desk and listening to the news. I was a little unsure about going out in the rain but Old Two Legs insisted, ooh! He is so bossy!

Can't we wait until it gets warmer?
When we got down to the beach it had eased up on the rain so it was a brisk walk along the Sea Wall. We did see that the green bin thingy had gone, not sure if it had floated away or someone had worked out a super use for it!

Well, I can't see it anywhere!
Lunchtime it was better, no rain, just a blustery wind blowing but that didn't matter we still had the sniffs and a run on the path!

No rain but the clouds have got a gallop on!
As we walked along the Sea Wall we could see the rain sprinkling water all over Essex. That is the best place for the rain!

It's raining on The Dark Side!
Back home I decided that the bed under the desk was the most comfortable spot in the house, so I crept in and curled up with my Bonio and spent a good two hours with my paws in the air!

This is just right right!
OTL has said that it is about time Holly and I got a haircut and is to set aside some time this weekend for bathing Holly and I. Then, after getting blasted into next week with the Dog Dryer then shaved to within a millimetre of our skin!

I'm not looking forward to this weekend!

See you tomorrow!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

A trip to the vet!

Hello Woofers!

It's Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret again!

Well, it's been another of those 'Grey Days' you know, no sun, just grey clouds!

Down on the Sea Wall we couldn't even see Sheerness 'cos the mist was so thick. We also saw that the big plastic thingy was still sitting on the beach. Old Two Legs said if he stayed there too long it might get bonked by a Palm Oil Tin!

Nasty!

Just watching the Palm Oil Cylinders float past!
Lunchtime arrived and so did we, only to find that nothing had changed! Except we could just see Sheerness across the water.

Not the most exciting thing to see!

Today it is a grey Sheerness!
On our way back we reckoned that some of the snow had melted but there was still some big piles by the side of the road!

Look! Grey Snow!
About the most exciting thing we did was to visit the vet to get a prescription for my 'Problem'.

There we were, OTL and me, sitting all quiet like in the waiting room, when this four month old Bozo Woofer came in all bouncy and wide awake. He tried to get over to see me and get a sniff.

I gave him the 'Woofers Warning', a low down grumble that starts in yer tum and rattles all the way up to your teeth!

That was it, he started to snivel and got picked up by his Two Legs and there he sat, on the TL's  lap and didn't move all the time we were in there!

I got poked and prodded and even had a cold stethoscope shoved onto my tummy and at one point I thought I was going to get the cold thermometer shoved up my third eye!

When we came out there was another Bozo Woofer in the waiting room and just to let them know who is in charge, I gave him the 'Woofers Warning' as well. Only he didn't start whimpering, instead he started to woof his tail off at me!

I didn't care, I was in OTL's arms and the Bozo couldn't get to me, so I gave him some more woofing warnings and that set him off again.

He got told off by his owner and  got dragged into the little room to see the vet. I shouted out to him that he was for 'The Chop' and he should keep his knees together!

Ha! That's how we sort Bozo's out!

The Missus has gone off for a game of Glue Slapping so we are going to have some fun tonight nibbling nibbles and watching a film on Netflicks!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Big Woofers and a Ferret Rough and Tumble

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

It's been a bleak sort of day today, no brilliant sunrises, well to be honest, no sun!

Wot was worse, Miss Wendy decided that she was going to finish of her sleep and refused to get up!

No, I'm not even going to open my eyes!

So, off we went looking for adventures!

Down on the Sea Front it was all rather boring, no sun, no exciting sniffs, in fact nuffin! We had heard that some containers of Palm Oil had been found on the sea shore so there was no chance of getting  a run and a dig on the beach!

Old Two Legs was wondering what he was going to photograph when all of a sudden we were surrounded by Husky Woofers!

Hey! Seen any snow?
They said they had enjoyed the last week, all that snow, they reckon to have had a great time diving in and out of the snowdrifts!

Holly wanted to know if they suffered from snowballs like wot we do but they didn't really know what Holly was talking about although they said they sometimes get snow in their paws!

Got any snowballs for us to look at?
It was a good job they were on leads cos I reckon they might have chased us, just for fun!

Down on the beach that big container was parked on the beach and we wondered if it was one of the Palm Oil containers but OTL said it was the wrong shape, he reckoned they would be 'cylidrical'!

Wot's Cylindrical?
When we come back from our morning walk we get locked in the bedroom for a snooze while the ferret cages get de-pooed and the ferrets get to have a rampage around the house, getting into as much mischief as possible!

The Missus had her camera phone handy and took this!

Ferret fun or wot?

This afternoon OTL had to go out delivering so we decided to stay at home and guard the house and scare away all the Nargles!

The two bowls of chicken also persuaded us to stay in as well!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Back to the sunrise again!

Hello Woofers!

We are back again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

No more snow, just a few drops of rain. There is still snow on the roads going in and out of the village but it's all passable.

We headed off to the sea side and noticed that the had got up before we arrived!

There were clouds low on the horizon so the sun had to climb above the low clouds before we get to see it!

Old Two Legs did some some fiddly diddly on the camera controls and then he spotted a launch heading across the sun.

Clicky click and he managed to get the shot he wanted!

Early Morning Fishing Trip
The funny thing was, a woofer we know had crept up on OTL and was jumping up giving him a shove while he was taking the photo!

Back home we left OTL to get on with his work and while we were snoozing, the ferrets were out rampaging around the house. Eric has found a new trick, while OTL has his head in the cage, digging out the poo, Eric jumps onto OTL's back and uses him as a ladder to help Eric climb up the outside of the cage!

When he first did it, he had OTL jumping all over the place!

A Ferret Gotcha!

OTL has got steak tonight, with salad of course. Mind you, that means Holly Chops and I will be on 'Maximium Mugging' !

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

We get out of the village!

Yo Woofers!

It's us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Well, it's good news, they have unblocked the road and we can now wiggle our way out of the village!

That means we can get down to the sea side for a wee and a sniff!

This morning Old Two Legs decided that we will have one last wander down the side of the field, just for old times sake! It was still dark 'cos the sun was still in bed!

All we saw was a little red in the sky, not very exciting!

Hello Sun Shine!
By the time we got to the end of the field it had got a bit brighter and OTL pointed out the Railway Water Tower. That is where they would give the steam trains a drink before setting off again!

The trains stopped here 'cos the railway didn't go any further!
Lunchtime we were off to the sea side and we passed one of the snow drifts that cut the village off from the rest of the world!

Passable but only single track!
Down on the Sea Wall we saw a big plastic box floating down the river. We decided to leave it alone 'cos it looked big and bouncy!

Best left alone to the weather!
Back home OTL gave the ferret cages their weekend clean and bedding change. Freddy thought it great fun to crawl into the blankets and have a snooze! Eric, when he was let out thought it a great game to explore the boxes where all the bedding was kept and just for fun, he jumped out of the box into OTL's arms!

So, now the bedding is all clean and new so all the ferrets have to do is move the bedding around until it is 'Just Right' for sleeping in!

Holly and I don't have that trouble, we just give OTL a kick and as he rolls over we dive in and pinch some more duvet!

That's living!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Spring is Here, sort of!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret are here again!

Now then, paws up all of you who know that meteorologically, spring started on the first of March!

Well done, you have been listening to the weather forecasts!

Judging by all the snow and cold winds we rather think that the 20th March should be the beginning, well, it is if you go by the astronomical calendar!

When we were out this morning wandering along the slushy path beside the field Old Two Legs spotted this.

The first buds of Spring?
I will admit, I don't do high up stuff, you see my nose is closer to the ground and sniffs are easier come by when your nose is twelve inches from the ground!

If I do this my nose is even closer to the ground!
Once we got into the field we could see that the snow had been melting overnight 'cos the green of the crop was just visible above the snow!

It's green but is it wheat or barley!
Back home we got served up with some chicken and after that we get a Rawhide Chew each, that is Holly and me, not OTL, he doesn't like rawhide!

The ferrets have really taken to the dehydrated chicken strips and when Freddy gets his he rushes off to a corner and doesn't come out until it is all gone!

He has also taken to giving the chicken strip to OTL to hold while Freddy chews lumps off the end until his teeth get too close to OTL's fingers!

We really didn't want to go out at lunchtime 'cos the chews were only half chewed but OTL insisted, so, off we went looking for a sniff!

When we got to the field we had a shock, loads of green stuff poking up in the air!

It's a bit soggy and a bit wet and a bit cold!
Holly was still kept of the lead 'cos she only wanted a wee and after that she wanted to go back to the rawhide chew!

An afternoon well spent, chewing and snoozing and mugging OTL for some more chicken strips!

See you tomorrow and with a bit of luck we will get to go walkies down on the sea front!

Bye bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.
