It's a bit chilly today!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Well, after yesterdays fun and games we were wondering if today the snow would all melt and it would get warmer.

The snow is still here and the wind makes it a bit colder than yesterday!

Ho Hum!

Although there was very little snow landing on us, the roads were one big ice rink around here. We didn't even go down to the sea side 'cos Old Two Legs didn't fancy driving the car. You see, we are normally the last place to get and salt or grit when it snows and there are a number of rather dodgy spots when ice gathers and they just happen to be where there are ditches on both sides of the road!

So, that was it, we got a walk over the football field and across the field!

When we got behind the trees it wasn't so bad but once into the open it felt like we were going to get our tails blown off or frozen!

We have still evaded the dreaded wash and haircut. Can you imagine us with 6mm of hair in this weather?

So, we had to put up with being brushed and de tangled and OTL is still telling us that as soon as the weather changes then out comes the electric shaver!

One thing about the wash is the drying, you know, that jet powered 'Dog Blaster'.

We got some ear protectors delivered and OTL is expecting us to wear this thing over our ears to help reduce the 'Scary Bit' when he dries us!

I tried it on this afternoon, I was not impressed!

OK, this is one side!

And this is the other side!
Then, just for a change, OTL took the small Hoodie off me and put the big one over my ears!

OK, it's bigger and it comes half way down my neck!
You know, I could wear this as a scarf over my ears when we go out in the cold. Together with my Flying Jacket I'd be right warm!

Well, it would keep my neck warm in the cold wind!
OTL took it off me and I managed to get back under the desk and onto my bed!

This is much better and I've got my ball as well!
So, that has been it for today, windy, cold and snow on the ground, just a dusting but still blooming cold!

If the clouds part tonight we may see some Aurora in the sky, but being so far south it will be low on the horizon, so don't expect miracles!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Brass Monkey Time Again!

Yo Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Last night it was all warm and Spring like but today when we woke up, brrrr, the cold weather had reached us!

We should have stayed in bed like wot Archie Babe is doing and cuddled up but Old Two Legs said we need the exercise and if we didn't, he did!

Let's hope Archie Babes sitting on Auntie Elaine's head has worked, you see it is a well known woofer healing trick that us woofers know and keep to ourselves. Ferrets do the same thing but they are not as warm as us woofers!

We got to the Sea Wall and the wind was terrible, it brought rain lashing in that suddenly changed to snow and threatened to blow our tails off!

There is snow in them there clouds!

Holly and I got halfway through the walk and decided having done our business we were heading back to the car and home!

Poor OTL got left behind!

We knew that OTL planned to give us both a wash and haircut but after getting home the elecamatricity power failed! No elecamatricity means no shower means no hair clippers means no haircut!

Yahoooooooo!

The only down side was that OTL couldn't have a cup of tea and he had to take the camping stove and cans of gas up to the village hall so The Missus and her glue slapping ladies can have a hot tea or coffee!

No thought about poor freezing OTL and us woofers, no heating, no warm drink and OTL's home made soup had icebergs floating on the top, so he had to put up with a marmite sarnie!

Half way through the afternoon the power came on again and after we had chipped the icicles off his nose OTL settled down to watch the rugby!

Half way through the rugby he got the call to pick up TM, so bang goes his afternoon plans!

One good thing, there's not much snow about, well, not down here, just enough to make the fields a bit muddy!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

So many Flogs, So much Spawn!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here again!

It has been a wonderful day today, loads of sunshine and warm balmy breezes. Seems strange that tomorrow they are forecasting snow and ice and blizzards and floods and plagues of locust but later it will be changeable!

Old Two Legs has threaten to give us a wash and haircut. You see the Hoodies have arrived and both Holly and I have tried them on and we were not impressed!

This morning OTL was up fifteen minutes earlier than normal and we were down on the beach taking the first picture at 06:20hr!

We reckon you can get fed up with sunrises!
It wasn't the most interesting sunrise he has taken but as the sun is getting up earlier every day, we will have to put up with it!

No, I didn't think much of that either!
Lunchtime it was even warmer and we know that 'cos OTL didn't take his hat with him!

The ferrets had a little run on the football field before heading off to the Sea Wall for a rampage through the grass.

Do we chase Mole or Woofer?
Eric was playing in the grass trying to do his 'Ferret Hiding' trick but OTL wouldn't let him disappear 'cos there were woofers coming along the path and he wanted both Eric and May up in his arms before they arrived!

After they had passed we all enjoyed a jog back down to the football field!

Race you back to the Mole Hills!
Back home OTL counted Thirteen Flogs in our pond! They were all over the place, making splashing noises and grabbing each other to have a wrestle!

Well, that's what it looked like to us, mind you, this one looked like it was getting it's leg over!

New Indian Style Wrestling Throw?
We left them to it but later when OTL went out he could see loads more Flog Splawn in the pond, who knows how many Flogs we will see hatch this year?

A serious load of Splawn!
Holly reckons that it is the tinkling sound of the water coming out of the jar that gets them going, I mean, if I sit there listening to it tinkle it makes me want to have a wee!

The tinkling drives me mad!
Holly says that she has seen a pack of Bambi Burgers thawing out, so we know what we will be mugging OTL for tonight!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Going Deaf is fun!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

We have been watching the weather forecasts and it looks like we could have a chance of some snowballs on Sunday! Mind you, knowing our luck it will be a bit of sleet, followed by some snow and then loads of rain to wash the snow away!

It's one of the penalties of living in the Southeast corner of England!

The morning walk was good fun, a couple of sniffs and a woof or two at a passing woofer but it wasn't a sunrise to be worth a photo, in fact it was very dull!

Roll on Spring, we could do with some sunshine!
Old Two Legs was in a hurry this morning 'cos he had to go out delivering and The Missus needed some shopping, like Teeth Cleaning Chews for Holly and me!

They were late in getting back and that means we were late in getting out for our lunchtime walk!

The ferrets enjoyed themselves, Eric was tyring to get through the mouse holes again and Miss May was enjoying a run around!

They both had a good rummage around the fresh piles of earth, even Eric had a good dig!

I know he is there but I'll pretend I haven't seen it!
Holly and I had fun chasing around the football field pretending we were chasing rabbits! Then OTL decided to put the ferrets away and call us but Holly and were suddenly struck down with a sever case of deafness! In fact, we both sat down facing away from OTL!

It all went well until OTL decided to run across the field and chase us both back to the car!

OK, let's turn away and pretend he isn't here!
Yesterday we managed to mug our way into a bit of steak but today we have been served up Doggy Scoff, YUK!

With any luck we may be able to mug some of OTL's dinner tonight and of course there is always The Missus to rob!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Holly gets all technical!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret back again!

Now, if you remember, we had almost given up on getting any more sunrise photo's until autumn time?

Holly was sitting on the sofa last night and Holly says that we should be getting some more sunrise photos.

How? Old Two Legs asked, 'cos he was a little mystified. Well, says Holly, a bit later the clocks will go forward an hour, so that means we will have to get up a whole hour earlier to get out before everyone else and an hour earlier means we should bump into the sunrise again!

There are some times old Holly Chops can be right clever little woofer!

This morning OTL got up earlier than normal 'cos he was thinking about the sunrise and just for a change we saw the sun creeping up above the clouds!

Maybe the last one?
A couple of minutes later the sun crept up a few feet and POW the cloud disappears and there is another shot!

OK, this could be the last one!
Lunchtime we tried waking the ferrets for a run and today Eric was first out for his harness to be fitted! Miss May looked out of her bed with just one eye open, so we took it that she wanted to come with us!

The sun was shining and although there was a stiff breeze blowing, it was a rather pleasant walk along the Sea Wall.

Eric was showing us how a ferret can disappear in the grass by burrowing into the grass where a mouse had made a tunnel in the grass. y shoving his nose into the tunnel he can not only expand the hole but he can disappear from view!

Sneaky ferret!

Bet you didn't see me creep up on you!
Of course there was the 'Ferret' around the mole hills but today there was no sign of a mole, maybe he had gone down to Tesco's to get his shopping!

Come on, I'll race you back to the car!
Back home the ferrets were having a good scratch which reminded OTL that he hadn't given them their dose of anti bug stuff, so, they both got their medicine between the shoulder blades which is all wet and sticky for ten minutes!

Last night it was steak and salad and both Holly and I got to mug OTL! Tonight I think it's Salad and Pork Pie, so we may be in for a little mugging! Mind you, I'm not too worried 'cos we got a nice big bowl of chicken!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Alll Gas and Sniff!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret back with you!

We will be glad when the end of the month arrives 'cos by then the temperature will have gone up and the clouds will have lightened up a bit!

It looks like we have lost the sunrise 'cos by the time we get to the beach the sun is up and charging towards midday!

So, what are we looking for now? Well, Old Two Legs is keeping an eye open for fungi and flowers and insects!

Of course there is the passing 'interesting' ship.

This one is the Eduard Toll and is a gas transported bringing liquefied natural gas to the distribution site on the Isle of Grain.

Now, being so full of gas it has to have tugs to guide it into dock and today we could see four tugs worrying the ship to where it off loads the gas.

There could be another two tugs on the other side but we couldn't see them!

The Gduard Toll all full of Gas!
OTL stood for a while waiting for it to creep up the River Medway. Holly was bored waiting for OTL and sat on the edge of the Sea Wall with a very bored look on her chops!

Just how long is he going to be?
Back home OTL had some 'manufacturing' to do so Holly and I had plenty of time for a snooze!

Lunchtime we left the ferrets asleep in their cages. OTL had asked them if they wanted to come for a walk but they didn't even open their eyes! So, that was it, fill the car with stuff for the carrier and next stop the Sea Wall!

We always investigate the Sea Wall and sometimes come across the occasional shrew!

Today we didn't find any Shrews but there was a sniff or two to enjoy!

Yeah! This one is interesting.
OTL had changed his lens over on the camera and put the 35mm lens back on the camera. Now this lens is good for big scenic views but is even better for close up shots!

Me, looking all whimsical at 35mm!
I think that when the insects get going he will be using the 105mm which is very good for close up on Tiddly Diddly Creepy Crawlies!

Today it looks like we have Doggy Scoff, so we are taking a keen interest in what OTL has for dinner tonight, steak and chips?

Claws crossed!

See you tomorrow!

Monday and it's Wet!

Hi There Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

It has been a typical Monday morning, you know, dark, grey and wet! Mind you, we did notice that the flowers were out on the Gorse Bushes!

Too late for the sunrise but the flowers are still here!
When we looked at the sunrise it sort of contained everything from red sunrise through to sunny blue sky's!

Everything in one shot!
Even Sheerness looked a little dramatic!

Sheerness with 'Atmosphere'!
Back home we had a game of 'Trampoline' using Old Two Legs bed! Holly tried jumping up and down of The Missuses pillow but it wasn't the same so she curled up and had a snooze instead!

The ferrets had a great time and young Eric was tearing around searching for nibbles in the sofa mechanicals!

Lunchtime he was wide awake and rattling the cage door, he just couldn't wait to get out and have a rampage on the Sea Wall!

Mind you, they didn't find any little hairy things to chase!

No Shrews or Mouses or Rats or Weasels or Stoats!
However, they did go sniffing for moles but couldn't decide on which mole hill to dig, so instead they headed for the car and some nibbles when they got home, before going to sleep!

I'd rather nibble a bit of dried chicken than bite a moles tail!
OTL was busy this afternoon and I helped him when he needed to go into the loft to get some stuff. Like Archie Babe, I was on guard duty keeping all the Nargles back in their holes and allowing OTL to dig out his stuff!

We have heard that it's going to get a bit chilly this coming weekend so we will have to make the most of the warmish weather  before the chilly bits start!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Our Froggies go a Woo'ing Ho!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Well mates, we reckon Spring is really here now. Today we have seen flower blooms and froggies making Tadpoles!

Yep! We have counted seven frogs in the pond and two were having a sort of cuddle, Old Two Legs said they were 'Making Tatpoles'!

Passing on the DNA?
We counted a total of seven frogs in the pond, so, we are expecting a load of frog spawn soon and providing they don't get eaten by the Dragon Fly Larvae, we expect some increase in the frog count, which means OTL will have to do some planting to make frog houses all over the garden!

A Two up Two Down with a swimming pool would be nice?
It's funny but we haven't heard any croaking from these frogs, not like wot we hear from the frogs on the marshes during the summer. Our frogs sort of just sit there in the water until it's their turn to make tadpoles!

It's the waiting that scares me, I mean, like just how long do we wait?
We got a new feeder for the finches, it's a feeder for Niger Seed and has a cover to keep the rain and squirrels out!

As we don't get any squirrels it will have to put up with the rain!

It's a dead posh feeder we got now!
This morning down on the Sea Front there was no sunrise, just clouds and grey!

Not the most exciting thing that will happen today!
One good thing we saw, Daffodilly Blooms! Next door planted some Daffs and this year they have come up just in time for Mothers Day!

Can we pick some for giving to The Missus as a Mothers Day Prezzie?
Lunchtime we took Eric and May out for a run with us and of course, there were loads of Sunday Woofers playing about on the Sea Front, so it was a case of 'Keep Picking up the Ferrets'!

They did enjoy another scrabble in the Mole Hills and it was young Eric that did his share of digging while Miss May stood to one side giving him 'Instructions'!

OTL didn't take his camera 'cos he changed the lens to the big zoom 28<300mm and found he couldn't carry two ferrets a ferret bag and a camera all at the same time!

We have had our afternoon snooze, so it's off to see what is for dinner, steak and chips if we are lucky or Doggy Scoff if we are not!

We reckon that Archie Babe should come down here for a holiday 'cos we got loads of stuff he can chew. Let's face it, Eric can demolish a whole bag of Smoothies in one pass and Wendy can move a couple of pounds of Brambles Biscuits in five minutes!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Do Ferrets Hibernate?

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Now, you know we haven't taken the ferrets out for some time on account that it has been too wet, too cold, too dark and too snowy?

Well today Eric and Miss May asked if they could come out with us at the lunchtime walk?

Old Two Legs said that he would see what the weather was going to be at lunchtime and let them know.

Freddy and Wendy said that they would pass on the walk and instead stay in bed where it was warm and snugly!

This morning we were up early 'cos The Missus was off to one of her Master Classes and she always gets up early for that and of course, wakes everyone else up at the same time!

Down on the Sea Wall OTL was waiting for the sunrise but it really didn't happen, too much cloud!

Mr Sunshine is hiding behind the cloud!
Not exactly the best sunrise, but different!

OTL was using his 24-85mm lens that is given away with the camera when you buy it at the shop and it really is a bit of a 'Cheap' thing that doesn't perform like some of his other lenses.

He has decided to change it for tomorrow, but today, he will carry on using it, just to remind himself of what it performs like!

We spotted some Black Headed Gulls on the breakwater trying to look all threatening like.

Some hope!

Do you remember Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds?
Lunchtime, good as his word, OTL woke Eric and May from their slumbers!

It was fun watching them enjoying the sniffs. Miss May was more enthusiastic than Eric, but that's not unusual!

I sniff Mouses and Shrew!
It took a little while for Eric to join in the fun but by the time we had got to the mole hills he was well up for a Mole Hunt!

Miss May was digging like mad, the earth was flying all over the place and Eric was joining in the digging as well!

There is nothing so wonderful as digging for Moles!
Of course, by the time they had got near to the Mole Hole, the mole had disappeared back down the tunnel and was making his lunchtime snack of Worm on Toast!

We had a relaxing afternoon watching some TV and enjoying a big bowl of chicken, followed by a Teeth Cleaning Chew that went down a treat!

OTL plans to watch the England, France rugby match later so he will be jumping up and down!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

We get a Reprieve!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

Hey Archie Babe, sorry to hear Mrs Boy has gone back, still, you can still get cuddles and just think, more room in the bed!

We got up a little late this morning and that means we had to fight the traffic coming in the opposite direction, like buses and coaches and cars all fighting for room on the narrow road through the village.

Three times we were shoved into the snow by the side of the road! As Old Two Legs says, 'Those Buggers are bigger than us!'

One good thing was the sun, it just managed to poke it's nose through the clouds and for the briefest of moments it landed on a sail boat heading out to sea!

Catching the Morning Tide.
As soon as the sun arrived , it disappeared again and it all went back to grey and cloudy!

The dustbin men called today, they haven't been around for a couple of weeks 'cos of the snow. It was great fun standing up at the bedroom window giving them the Full Woof!

Lunchtime OTL suggested that Freddy and Wendy should come for a walk with us but it got the 'claw down' from them 'cos they were just too tired after spending most of the morning rampaging around the house!

We'll pass on that kind offer, but thanks all the same!
Holly got all interested in the mole hills again and swore she could sniff the mole, but we still didn't see it!

I sniff a Mole and it's down this Hole!
OTL said she could make up a song about that!

On our way back a little bouncy woofer came tearing up woofin' his tail off. OTL crouched down and  gave him a stroke. Then the woofer spotted Holly and I and came tearing over to say hello. Trouble was, he wanted to do some sniffing without our permission, so that ended in him being told to Woof Off!

Some woofers just don't have any manners!
First Holly and then me gave him the 'Woofers Warning' and in the end he went  back to OTL!

The Tesco man came to call today and now we can sniff Chicken Brest being dried in the dehydrator thingy wotssit.

More nibbles tonight!

Now, OTL had plans to wash and shave us over the weekend but that has been put on hold for a week or so. You see, when OTL and Holly went off to learn how to give us  groom at the local Agricultural College Holly had to wear an elastic head band that stopped her ears from flopping about when OTL turned on the Mega Blaster to dry her off. The elastic thingy stops her ears from flapping and stops her getting all upset. OTL has been looking for these for ages and yesterday he finally found a web site that sold them!

He has ordered up two sets and says that they should be delivered by next weekend and he'll hold off giving us the full treatment until then.

Result!

See you all tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.
