It's going to be five bob to talk to him now!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Well, what an exciting day yesterday, baby naming and Archie Babe getting the 'Royal Wave'!

Eric said that he should be called Eric like wot he is 'cos that is just as royal! The only saving grace is that there is no HRH, so Archie Babe can't pull that one on us!

Wot a day it's been down here. No royalty but it did rain (not Reign!)

This morning wasn't so bad, we even spotted a couple of pigeons pretending to be vultures!

I'm getting fed up with waiting, can't we just kill something?
Next we spotted the Norwegian Pearl slowly heading up the Thames towards London.

Left hand down a bit!
Talking of going slow, Cyril de Slug was slipping across the path heading back for some breakfast!

It's hard work climbing over this grass 'cos it tickles your tummy!
Holly met up with that young Husky who's name we can't pronounce but she says it means 'Princess'!

Blow in my ear again and you'll be limping home!
Mind you, we knew she was just playing but Old Holly Chops has got a thing about getting too close to her ears!

Bye Bye Holly Chops!
Lunchtime came and both Eric and May came out for a run.

Unfortunately, so did the rain!

We were rushing from one tree to the next to keep out of the rain drops and the ferrets were getting a little damp!

Holly dashed off ahead of us and was found trying to get into the car!

Let's hope that the rain eases up tomorrow and we get some sun shine!

Bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Not our day!

Hello Woofers!

It's Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here!

It really has been one of 'Those Days'!

It started OK, I mean, there we were enjoying a good early morning snooze and Old Two Legs didn't wake us up when he rolled out of bed.

We were looking forward to a run around the Sea Shore and maybe chase a couple of Bunnies.

As we exited the house by the front door a dirty great big drop of rain water landed on my nose!

RAIN!

YUK!

All the way down to the football field car park OTL had to keep the windscreen wipers slapping away just to see where we were going!

Out we got and took a couple of steps, then turned around to get back in the car again. Unfortunately, OTL had locked the car doors and on top of that he had slipped our collars on and was marching us across the car park towards the forest!

Well, Holly and I did all our weeing and pooing as quickly as possible so we could get back into the car but OTL insisted we walk all the way around the walk route!

Back home it was a quick rub down with a doggy towel and up to the office to dry off on the bed!

Come lunchtime we thought that the rain would  have finished but no, it was still tiddling down and we had to keep our leads on again!

We were not happy puppies, so, by the time we got back home both Holly and I showed off and curled up on the bed and ignored OTL, that will serve him right!

Dinner has been called, so we are off now, leaving OTL along in the office!

Bye.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here!

It's always the same, the holiday arrives and the weather gets cold and cloudy but the morning you go back to work it all gets better!

Just look at the sunrise!

Even the clouds look good!
Just for a change, we went clockwise around our walk and tried to sneak up on the rabbits!

I reckon there are rabbits ahead of us!
Well, we didn't see any rabbits but Old Two Legs had brought his 'Close Up Lens and set about hunting around in the bushes, just to see what he could find!

First there was this wonderful Dragon Fly relaxing on a branch and catching a few rays!

Any one got some Factor 35?
There was one tree that seemed to have sprouted blooms over night, looks lovely!

I've never seen so much blossom on one tree!
We spotted some bee's out for a morning munch.

No time to stop, I've got lots to do before bed time!
While OTL was doing his photography thing I decided to climb up onto the table to see if there are any Nargles wandering about!

No Nargles, no Rabbits in fact nothing except a Woofer and OTL!
With any luck it will be warm tomorrow and then OTL will invite the ferrets out for a run!

See you tomorrow, I'm off to see what's for dinner!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Ferrets and Steam Engines

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here!

We were expecting a little sunshine today, well, the forecasters said it would be sunshine and clouds but today it has been all cloud, wind and a bit of a chill!

First thing this morning we were out in the wind and chill but Old Two Legs was saying that it may get warmer later, yeah, right!

We found a bee that was just too cold to fly!

It's taken ages to climb up here!
Back home OTL rushed through the cage cleaning and by ten thirty we were ready to go to the Steam Fair!

First thing we did was to find out where the Ferret Stand was located. We arrived just as everyone was having a bit of late breakfast!

Holly was doing her best to get a nibble!
Roy was tucking into his breakfast and teasing the ferrets as well!

Aw! Come on, just a nibble?
When Holly and I started as well he gave up and let us all have a nibble of sausage!

This is how it's done!
Being it was a Steam Fair there were loads of steam engines parading around the ground and show ring. Of course these are all made by the owners and were very well manufactured!

You can see how big they are by this Two Legs sitting on the back!
Not only were there Traction Engines but also there were Steam Trucks as well!

I don't suppose this would ever be allowed onto a Motorway!

We could walk quicker than this could go!
It was fun looking at all the tractors and old cars but to be honest, after a while it was getting too cold so we left them all and headed back home.

Not sure what there is for dinner tonight but we have had some sausages but I think that it is Scoff tonight!

Well, you can't win them all!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Wendy has a Problem!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here!

What a change from yesterday, this morning when we went out the wind was still blowing but it didn't feel so cold.

Well, actually it was still cold enough to be noticed but with the slight drop in wind it didn't feel so cold, if you know what I mean!

Both May and Eric declined the offer of a walk first thing this morning and at lunchtime Wendy and Monty were fast asleep, so it was just Holly and I who had to brave the cold!

Sunrise was one of those uninspiring events that serve to disappoint rather than inspire!

Not the best sunrise this year!
One thing that Old Two Legs lets us do is to decide which path to take when we are out in the forrest. Some times we got left and sometimes we go right and just accasionally we confuss him rotten by going both left and right!

OK, You go left and I'll go right!
With all the weeds chopped down, there seemed to be a terrible lack of interesting insects but OTL managed to get a shot of a Hover Fly, having a rest!

It's hard work flying against the wind!
We came across this thing which OTL says is called a Fairy Moth 'cos in the sunlight they tend to gather together and if viewed at a distance, they look like fairies!

Adela reaumurella is one of two small day-flying moths with extremely long antennae known as "fairy" moths. These enchanting fairies dance in groups around bushes in sunlight and could well be mistaken for fairies at the end of the garden. Depending on the angle of the light, their wings change from black to metallic blue-green to shiny gold.
This description has been copied from a web site about moths!

Back home OTL decided to put his feet up and read his book but every time he got going he was disturbed by a loud snoring sound!

Just for a change, it wasn't me and Holly was down stairs.

After an investigation we found out that it was Miss Wendy, laying on her back in the ferret bed, with her paws sticking in the air, snoring her tail off!

You know we sometimes wonder why these ferret get handed into the Ferret Rescue, I mean, such a sweet little gentle ferret.

With Miss Wendy, we think we have an idea.

Every so often OTL has to wash her butt and get rid of the ferret poo that has stuck to her tail. Of course, the loud snoring in the middle of the night wakes everyone up in this house!

It's a good job we love her!

See you tomorrow when we hope to have some tales of our adventures!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret.

Blue Skys and a Wicked Wind!

Hello Woofers!

The gangs all here again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

It's Saturday so that means The Missus is off to do some Glue Slapping up in the village hall with her mates!

We managed to get out early this morning for a walk but the wind was howling in off the North Sea!

It was a good job we had our Rufty Tufty Harnesses on 'cos that managed to keep some of the wind out!

When we got to the forest we were very disappointed, I mean, they had chopped down all the weeds. What used to be a haven for bugs and buzzing things now is flattened and all the bugs have gone!

How is Old Two Legs going to get his pictures of the 'Interesting' bugs if there is nothing but grass!

Undergrowth gone, bugs gone and buzzing things gone!
I mean, just look at the nothing that is left!

Look! Serious lack of bug land!
What was worse, no bunnies to chase!

Still, the sniffs were OK but OTL spoilt it by grumbling about a lack of insects!

This is not one of our best walks!
Things picked up at lunchtime, not that there was and sudden growth of Bug Land Weeds but rather it was a welcome sight to see both Monty and Wendy out with us for a walk. It was still blowing in off the North Sea but we managed to get out of the wind and let them have a run and a sniff!

On the way home we dropped into the village hall to see the ladies and Rosie who gave Wendy a lovely cuddle and better than that, Monty got a cuddle as well!

Rosie came out to see us as well and we got a tickle behind the ear!

OTL has been catching up with his Game of Thrones series and is not bang up to date. I must say there was a lot of waring going on and plenty of sword fighting!

Let's hope that tomorrow it will be a bit warmer or better still, no wind!

Bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

A Woofin' Good Friday!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here!

Well, Friday has arrived and we were looking forward to a warm and sunny weekend.

As we left the house for our morning walk what did we feel on our nose?

Rain!

I mean, that's not the weather for the May Day Holiday is it?

It didn't get any better at lunchtime except that the rain held off while we had a wee and a wander!

The Missus got a message from Roy at the Harrietsham Ferret Rescue saying that they would be running a Ferret Racing Stand at the Merton Vintage Show, Faversham.

That's it, we checked on the Internetty Thing that forecasts the weather and reckon that Monday will be a dry day with some sunshine!

So, with a bit of luck we may very well make a visit and say 'Hello' to a ferret or two!

Old Two Legs has been getting all the bits of paper ready for the accountant geezer wot tells OTL if he is making money!

We think that OTL knows just exactly what is in the bank and how much is his and not the Tax Man!

So, no pictures today but with a bit of luck we may have some tomorrow!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret.

Hey Woofers! OTL took a picture of me!

Love from Monty!

Oak Apple Gall Wasps and Creepy Trees!

Hi Woofers!

Back again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

It has been rather warm and sunny today down here in North Kent. However, the morning sun rise was a little disappointing, hardly a glow, more of a dull smudge!

See what we mean?
Mind you, it was fun when Old Two Legs pointed out one of the trees who had his face on today!

Treebeard is an old cousin of mine!
Walking along the path through the forest OTL saw a tree with a funny growth on it. He said it was a caused by a Oak Apple Gall Wasp. The tree didn't have its leaves out yet so we couldn't say if it was an Oak Tree but after they are out we will check again!

Yep! That's the front door for the Gall Wasp!
Lunchtime was warm and today both May and Eric were awake, they said they would love a run out.

This field is full of sniffs!
The local Parish Council Members look after the sea front and keep the grass mown. OTL keeps telling them they should leave some weeds for the insects but they keep chopping the weeds back. So, it was pleasant to see some plants growing, before they chop it all down again!

Now that looks pretty!
Miss May spent most of the time on the ground but Eric asked if he could spend time in the Ferret Bag, that was until we turned for home and then he jumped down a scurried all the way back to the car!

You know this bag is so warm and comfortable!
Mind you, he did enjoy the run back to the car and all the sniffs along the way!

Hey! How's this for a pose!

It was good to read how helpful Archie Babe has been, helping to clear up all the mess his Two Legs has made with her new electric gissmo!

Dinner has just been called, It's Mugging Time!

See you tomorrow!

A Chilly Start to May!

Hello Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Well, welcome to the month of May, named after Miss May or so she says!

Last night Old Two Legs set up the moth trap in the garden and switched on the light and we all sat back looking for moths. Bedtime came and there was no moths to be seen.

OTL left it all on all night long and first thing this morning we had a look and..........nuffin!

We reckon it is still too early for moths but when OTL was dismantling the bird feeder ready for washing, out popped a small moth and scurried away before OTL could catch it!

Later this morning he ordered up some plastic sample jars to keep the moths in, if ever he catches any!

All this moth thing has started him off looking for other crawly stuff to photograph.

First of all is a Hover Fly.

A Hover Fly, not hovering!
We couldn't find a Hover fly with such long, thick antennae so we will have to look on the Internetty Thingy and see if there are any pictures!

After it moved sideways for a moment!
A few yards further on he spotted this thing that looked just like a Mosquito who was looking for some blood!

We didn't hang about!

An early Mosquito called Dracula?
Next there was this thing and we are not sure if it is a Carder Bee or a Spring Flower Bee?

We are certainly rusty on this insect stuff!

Holly says she is going to take a reference book to bed tonight to brush up on insect spotting!

Maybe a Male Spring Flower Bee?
What ever they are called, they were all busy eating the nectar on the flowers and generally making a loud buzzing sound!

So, if it's sunny then we will be helping OTL spot all the insects that will be worthy of a picture!

The down side of all this is that the Hay fever has started to work on OTL's nose!

We always know when the summer starts,  OTL starts sneezing!

We are off to help him set up the moth trap again to see if get lucky tonight!

Bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric Dee Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Sunbeams, Bert and a Pesky Rabbit!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here!

We managed to get in trouble today!

You know what it's like, there you are wandering along the path and on the wind comes a super sniff that yells out 'SNIFF ME!'

So, what's a woofer to do?

Off we go, Holly and I, and find a sniff that says 'Roll on Me!'

And we do!

It is then that Old Two Legs starts jumping up and down and getting all showy off!

Before we know what's happening, he has clipped our lead on our harness and there we are, unable to have any fun!

It didn't last long, just long enough to get past the sniffs!

Through the woods we noticed just how much the undergrowth has grown. OTL says that the undergrowth will die back as the tree grows more leaves!

Ever changing vista!
First thing this morning we got down the sea shore and stood for a while looking at the sun beams, pretty wot?

Looks pretty don't it?
Lunchtime we came across Bert who was enjoying the sniffs. Now Bert has a thing about Holly, he just loves her but Holly winds him up rotten!

I told you, no tongues!
Heading for home OTL saw a rabbit  sitting in the middle of the path trying to decide whether to run or stay still hoping not to be noticed!

I reckon I would have got it but OTL wouldn't let me go!
We spent the afternoon resting on our beds while OTL got all busy with some orders that have come in.

It's a hard life being a woofer in this house!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret.
