Squeaky Chicken to the Rescue!

Hello Woofers!

It's us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret!

Now, Old Two Legs has been busy and has now got to the stage where he can't do any more to the garden. Not because he can't think of anything else to do, it's just that The Missus wants to put her stamp on the garden.

That normally means there will be stuff like a knitted frog house or palm tree!

Looking from the North West Corner!
This shows the original pond with the new Boggy Bit over the back. We found frogs hiding under the rocks and in the plants as well!

And this shows the Boggy Bit with plant pots!
The Boggy Bit is on a slant so the water will run down the ditch that is filled with stones, into the pond.

Well, that's the idea anyway!

Eric is a ferret who has a favourite toy and it is a Squeaky Chicken!

If Eric is lost or is hiding somewhere around the house, we get out the Squeaky Chicken, give it a few squeaks and the next thing you see is Eric at your feet looking up at you!

Today, both ferrets were out rampaging around the house and Eric decided that today he would get his favourite cuddle cup reserved for him and keep Wendy out as well.

To do this he got his chicken and propped it up against the cuddle cup and went of for some more 'Rampaging'!

Unfortunately, Miss Wendy doesn't do any form of reservation, with her it's 'Bums on Beds' so she threw the chicken out and fell asleep!

OTL hung the chicken up on the door to make sure Wendy doesn't chew it to bits!

This is no way to treat a chicken! Just wait until Eric gets back!
I must admit, when Eric got back there was a squeak or two but he didn't get the bed back!

Lunchtime the rain had stopped but  the clouds were heavy and looked like they contained rain, so both ferrets decided to stay in bed!

To be honest, they missed a good walk, it was only a bit windy and the sunshine was good!

OTL was doing his thing, cloud gazing and reckoned he could see a ferret in the clouds

Well, it could be a ferret!
Back home the ferrets were both fast asleep and there were no reports of screaming from Miss Wendy.

OTL is always monitoring the actions of the ferrets and he reckons he has seen a 'Softening' of Miss Wendy's attitude towards Eric and he is not chasing her as much, both of which is a good sign.

Well, they have just two weeks to get it all sorted before Scotland. You know, it is a bit like the Brexit Fiasco, both want to be friendly but on their own terms!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret!

Midnight Squeakers again!

Hello Woofers!

It's Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here!

Now Missy Sarn, we have not been reporting on the love life of our two ferrets 'cos at the moment, there is no loving going on. However, we do get the occasional squeak from Miss Wendy who still doesn't trust young Eric.

Picture this, there is Eric fast asleep in his cuddle cup and next door is Miss Wendy, paws in the air, snoozing gently in her cuddle cup.

Eric suddenly wakes up, dashes down into the Wee & Poo area and when he finishes wanders back up to bed.

As he passes the cuddle cup where Miss Wendy is snoozing, he sticks his head in to make sure she is alright and maybe wants a cuddle.

Miss Wendy, sensing he is there, lets out a big scream and goes to take a lump out of his nose!

Eric is too quick for her and ducks back and heads back to bed, all he wanted was a cuddle!

So, what we have now is a sort of truce where Wendy is making all the noise any time Eric gets near to her and just occasionally Eric retaliates, holds her down and gives Wendy a nip on the back of the neck, just to let her know he is bigger and stronger than her!

So that is how we stand at the moment, not all out hostilities, just the occasional skirmish!

They have two weeks to patch things up cos that's when we will be heading off to Scotland for our Autumn Holiday and it's a long way from here to there and we don't want to be stopping every few miles just to prise the pair apart if they are having a punch up!

Plus the fact that the caravan cage is a lot smaller that the cage in Old Two Legs office!

There will be two sleeping places, one in a big cuddle cup and the other is on a hammock!

Cross you claws that they get something together before then!

Today OTL has spent in the garden mucking about with the pond and the new Boggy Bit and now he reckons he has finished for now.

There are a few pots waiting for some plants to dip their roots in and the rest has been sorted. I will get some pictures tomorrow to show you. Poor lad is hurting all over and on top of that, he had to go to the dentist for a checkup. Open Wallet and say after me, 'Help yourself'!

We hope Archie Babe gets everything sorted at the vets, that's another one of those Open Wallet and say after me, 'Help yourself'!

Sorry, no pictures today. When OTL takes Eric or Wendy out for a walk with us there is no room for the camera in the bag plus he has to keep an eye open for other woofers who might fancy a bit of ferret for breakfast or lunch!

That would never do!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

Another day in the garden!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here again!

Well, today has been a day when the ferrets decided to stay in bed rather than come out for a run, morning or lunchtime!

It makes an interesting change for Old Two Legs to take the camera out both times!

A Morning Shot of the Trees, can you spot the sun?
One of the good things about getting out early is you get a clean run all the way along the sea shore and up to the beach.

Come on Holly Chops, I'll race you to the beach!
Overlooking the beach is this WWII thing that had something to do with the gun emplacement that used to be here. Strangely enough, we thing is has some sort of preservation order on it but what or why we don't know!

Well, graffiti it may be but legible it isn't!
Makes you wonder what they teach them at school!

Well, OTL saw this and thought that it looked sort of interesting!
OTL was looking up at the clouds and said that it looked like a flying ferret!

A Fast Flying Ferret?  Are you sure?
As if OTL needs to be reminded! Mind you, looking at the scale of the woofer and the pile of poo, OTL reckons if we did anything like that we would be down the vet's straight away!

Honest, it weren't me!
OTL has been working on the garden and pond today. The planned boggy bit is suffering from a little mismatch on the levels so he is re planning what to add to the bit he dug up. Latest is a layer of stones and then stick some flower pots on top and plant some water loving plants in the pots. Well, that is the latest from The Missus but that plan could change as well!

A redesigned Boggy Bit!
See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

16 tons and what do you get?

Hello Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret!

Sorry about yesterday, full details later!

Now, Eric is in deep poo with The Missus 'cos he had a chew of one of her very expensive Craft Mats!

He is in such deep poo that she is thinking of having another 'Ferret Raffle' however, this time it won't be a bottle of giggle juice as a prize, it will be a ferret called Eric!

She can be soooo Hard sometimes!

We took Eric out with us this morning 'cos the sun was shining and there were some lovely clouds up in the sky and we know that both Old Two Legs and Eric love clouds, well the pair of them stand there with their noses pointing skywards and saying things like .....'Oh! That one looks like a ferret!'

Daft or wot?

That one looks like Wendy!
Now, excuses time.

Yesterday OTL got involved in searching for roots of a nasty plant that has managed to kill off a load of water plants we had in the garden pond. To begin with, OTL dug up enough of this plant roots to half fill a Wheelie Bin and after leaving the ground for a week or two he went back to see  if he could find any more, which he did!

So, yesterday he was digging and sorting and chasing roost all over the place. By the time he got indoors he was moaning about his aching back and burnt neck and sore fingers where he had been digging and poking and pulling stuff out of the ground!

After clearing everything away and eating dinner, he fell asleep until it was time to go to bed!

So, that's the reason I didn't appear yesterday!

It looked like this yesterday!
So, today he was out there again after walking us Woofers and cleaning the ferret cage.

It was interesting to see just how many insects there were visiting or hiding under the rocks. Plus of course, frogs!

There were small, medium and largish frogs diving into the pond when OTL got too near with the garden fork or rake!

We were also visited by butterfly's from the plants next door!

Eh! Got anything worth eating here?
Now, the pond digging thing is not only to get rid of a marauding plant but also to take out two Water Lilly plants that had got just too big for the pond, plus, OTL wanted a 'Boggy Area' where he could attract water margin type of plants.

Half way through digging out the 'Water Margin' section.
After shovelling a massive amount of earth plus digging out more roots, he managed to create a patch that could take in water from the pond and still remain boggy if the level in the pond dropped.

Using his trusty mallet, he created a gap in the earth lining and slowly the water trickled in and we had a good patch of wet stuff that could be planted with reeds and water type plants!

I declare this dam formally Breached!
Lunchtime he packed up for the day cos the F1 racing was on at ten past two, so, off we went down the sea shore and we spotted the Blackberry Plants just about ripened, well most of them and there they were, Two Legs, plastic boxes in their paws, collecting Blackberries to make jam, tarts or wine!

All of which us woofers do not like!

Well, they look pretty but taste like Yuk!
Tomorrow OTL will be back out again, landscaping the pond and creating a rocky vista around the edge of the Boggy Bit!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

The Tide was In, and so was I!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here!

Wot a super day today has been, loads of sunshine and a few Two Legs mucking about on the beaches with their Mini TL's!

Just look at that sky!
There were loads of MTL's on the stony beach, I mean, if they walked a little way along the shore they would have found sand to play in!

What are they building, Rock Castles?
Holly was all keen to visit them and say 'Hello' but of course wot she really means when she says that is.....got any food?

Come on, let's go and visit, they must have food with them!
I wasn't interested and headed for the water, first for a little splash and then for a super big splosh in the water!

Now, Old Two Legs is too far away and the water is so close I'm going in!
And in I went!

I even came out, woofed at OTL but he wouldn't throw any sticks for me!

I wish I had brought a stick or two or even a ball!
Then I had a brilliant idea. If OTL took his boot off and threw it in the water, I could rush in and rescue it!

Come on, gissa boot and I'll 'rescue it, promise!
We even invited Eric in for a swim but he said that he would rather stay dry thank you very much!

Wet is OK when you mix it with suds but not with sand!
Back home our garden is a favourite with the Collard Doves that hang around looking for seed dropped from the bird feeder but now they have taken to resting on the tree branch, catching the rays!

You always need a rest after a good feed!
We have got the F1 racing this weekend so that's more exciting things to watch on the TV!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret

Sneaky Squeeks in the early hours!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret back with you again!

It seems that Miss Wendy has a new game to play on Old Two Legs. This morning, around three thirty, The Missus woke OTL saying that there was screaming coming from the ferrets. So, bouncing off the walls and doors, OTL sleep walking into the office, OTL expected to find two fighting ferrets ripping the legs off each other.

He switched the light on and looked into the cage to find on the ground floor, fast asleep on the hammock, Miss Wendy was gently snoozing.

On the top floor, tucked up inside one of the cuddle cups was Eric, paws in the air, snoring his tail off!

So, who was screaming? Was TM dreaming? Had the ferrets played a sneaky trick on poor OTL?

Answers on a ten pound note please!

Eric came out with us first thing and enjoyed a super walk along the Seashore but he still kept asking for a lift. He really wanted to see what was ahead and behind in case there were any woofers creeping up behind!

Come on, I need a lift!
Lunch time, Miss Wendy decided she was going to stay in bed catching up on her sleep that was interrupted when OTL came crashing into the office in the middle of the night!

Holly and I had a good run around and just for a change we went down the big hill and into the woods.

My turn to run down the hill!
Of course, Holly tried to beat me down the hill but she just rolled down where I raced down!

OK, I'll beat you down this time!
OTL was more interested in photographing the Grain Tower and a passing yacht!

Well, he brought his 400mm lens so we suppose he must be allowed to play!
Good to see Archie Babe has got clean Toothy Pegs, we get a Teeth Cleaning Chew every day and that helps keep us with a bright white grin!

Mind you, we don't get our butts inspected!

Saying that, there are times when we get a butt wash 'cos we sometimes get a Grumbly Tum, but that's another story!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

Cloud, Wet Rain and a Squeaking Wendy!

Hello Woofers!

It's Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret again!

This matchmaking is getting a bit tiring, it seems that Miss Wendy likes to wait until it's all dark before attacking Eric who keeps falling out of his bed!

Last night there was one squeak at ten thirty and again at midnight.

Eric is still not sure how to get on her good side and what starts as a friendly butt sniff quickly turns into a punch up as she tries to bite lumps out of him!

It will work out, it's just going to take time.

As a reward, Eric came out with us this morning.

Reward! It's blooming raining!
Lucky for us it didn't last long and we were soon heading down the sea front looking for new sniffs!

Well, I reckon it's seagull poo!
Eric was more interested in searching for Weasel Poo!

No Weasel Poo, just Woofer droppings and Bird Muck!
After a run on the beach we headed back towards the car 'cos it started to rain again!

Race you back and let's leave Eric and Old Two Legs behind!
The only problem was, OTL had the car keys and unless he was there we couldn't have got into the car!

Wendy came out for a run later and although it was getting warm she still kept up a run all along the sea front but she got carried as we went up the local mountain!

Any steeper and it will be 'Ice Axe and Crampons'!
The rest of the day has been spent snoozing under OTL's desk and nabbing a Chocolate Cookie!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

...and the war continued!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret back again!

First of all, thanks for the helpful advice regarding instructing ferret wooing!

Miss Wendy has been 'Done', so the 'Poor Man in Trouble' is a no goer!

Eric has lost his jewels so he doesn't wake up with a glint in his eye either!

Last night there was no screaming at four or even five but we did find a poo in the sleeping area, so Miss Wendy did have a 'Moment' with Eric but it looks like Eric went back to sleep!

Wendy came out with us for a walk and had a great time ferreting in the long grass.

Back home Eric was showing off 'cos he didn't go out for a walk and when they came out of the cage for a rampage around the house Eric chases Wendy, who then hides under some boxes and when they finally meet.....................well, that's when the fight started!

If ever you have been close enough when ferrets are having a punch up you will know they have the same defencive action that a skunk has and it don't 'arf make your eyes water.....Phew!

Lunchtime came and it was just too hot for Eric to come out with us, he said he would stay on the hammock and catch the breeze as it wafted through the window and across his tummy!

Not that we worried 'cos that means Holly and I can go at our own speed and try to mug anyone who had any food!

We came across one Two Legs but he told us to 'Woof Off', in his own language!

We went for a drive as well 'cos Old Two Legs had to drop some stuff off at the carriers and we had plenty of time to enjoy the air con in the car, super and almost too cold!

So, let's hope there is peace and quiet tonight and they stay snoozing until it's getting up time!

Better still, we creep into the office and find them cuddled up on the hammock.

I suppose that is a little too much to ask for at the moment, but, claws crossed, they have three weeks before we go on holiday and we want them in the same cage by then!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

Two Steps forward an one step back!

Hello Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret!

I dunno what it is about four in the morning but we think it is the time of the day when ferrets just fancy a punch up!

Yep! This morning at four The Missus yelled out, 'They're at it again!

That means Old Two Legs is bouncing off the wall and into the door on his way to the office where the screaming was supposed to be coming from.

Once he got there both ferrets were asleep!

No problem, back to bed for a snooze until getting up time.

So, an hour later than normal OTL wanders into the office to find two ferret, on the same hammock cuddled up to each other!

Then one eye opened and up got Eric to get his morning slurp of Ferretone, having done that he went back to the cage and Wendy next came out for her slurp.

We were almost dancing up and down with the progress made. That was until Wendy looked over the edge of the hammock, spotted him and sank her teeth into the back of his head!

Eric, taking that as the resumption of warfare, rushed up the ladder, jumped on top of Wendy and sank his teeth into the back of her neck!

Then the fight started!

OTL was there to pull them apart, thank goodness and things went back to normal hostilities!

Eric came out with us in the morning but there was just too many Two Legs wandering along the sea front for him to have a long walk so, instead he had series of walks and cuddles followed by a race across the football field!

Now today is supposed to be a holiday but OTL has been playing on the computer trying to swap files over, without too much success!

We were late in getting out at lunchtime and Holly decided she wanted to go a different way around the hills and bushes. Mind you, there were some strange sniffs!

Hey! What is that sniff?
Holly found a sniff that made here turn her nose up!

That was YUCK!
OTL had the Infrared Camera and we decided that the picture really needs to have a bit of sky in it to add some interest!

Mmmm, yes, but what really goes down is some cloud as well!
Unfortunately, there were no clouds in the sky so we just had to put up with the blue bit above the horizon!

Mind you, Holly suggested some trees to add interest, so, a few clicks later we got some trees!

OK, but we got some 'Lens Flare' in the top right hand side!
Right, turn your back to the sun and .........reflection off the leaves!

Back to the drawing board or maybe change over the camera back to a colour digital!
Back home the ferrets were both fast asleep and seem to have decided that opposite ends of the cage is the best place to sleep, until four in the morning!

Let's hope that tomorrow we find them cuddled up again but without the violence!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret!

The Ferrets are fighting, it must be 4am!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here!

Wot a super day it's been, well it is if you forget the punch up the ferrets had at four this morning!

We went out this morning and there was misty stuff everywhere so we didn't take the camera. Instead we took Miss Wendy who enjoyed a run across the football field but when she got to the other side her tummy was soaking wet with the dew, so, up she gets and has a cuddle with Old Two Legs until her underside was nice and dry!

Do you think OTL will give me a cuddle when my tummy gets wet?

No, neither do I!

Back home both ferrets were let out for a rampage while OTL did his duties. It was interesting to see that the warfare was developing, sort of.

Miss Wendy would go ferreting under Holly's sleeping mat, Eric being inquisitive started to dig under the mat and of course, finally ended up nose to nose with Wendy......... and that's when the fight began!

It wasn't the normal territory fight, you know, with feeling. Instead this one was Eric, reversing his butt to ward off Wendy who was screaming at him but not attacking him with her teeth, just making a big noise!

That might be a good sign and these little changes are all pointing towards living with each other!

Of course, it will take a little while yet, but we are all keeping our claws crossed!

Now, OTL gave us our monthly dose of anti insect stuff down the back of our necks. Today he swapped over to the Holiday Stuff.

This is the one that gets rid of Ticks which I just HATE!

The stuff he puts on us is not very nice cos it itches like mad and I'm rubbing my neck along the furniture!

The ferrets got their dose as well and they both said it was horrid but they were soon asleep, separately!

Once the stuff had dried Eric set off with us for a stroll along the seafront.

Holly was the first to see a large container ship heading up the Thames into London to unload a load of containers.

Do you think they have any food on there?
Now OTL had received instructions from The Missus, it seems that she is planning to plant some baby cacti and needed some stuff to put in the flower pot. One of the ingredients is a handful of grit and the local plant place didn't have any for sale, so, OTL was told to take a carrier bag and put a couple of handfuls of sea shells in the bag.

Now that was all OK except that the bag had a hole in it and as much as OTL put sea shells in the bag, most just flowed out and onto the beach!

Finally OTL managed a couple of handfuls and double knotted the bag so with the sea shells in the bag it looked just like a Christmas Haggis!

Of course Eric was helping by digging the shells up and throwing them behind himself for OTL to pick up!

Shall I dig some more or is that enough?
We got back into the car and we were treated to a blast from the air con unit which was so good that Eric said it was blowing ice cubes into his cage!

Now, back home Eric was put back into the cage and found Wendy curled up on the hammock, well, he crept up onto the hammock, bent over and sniffed her ear!

Wendy, still half asleep, turned her head, looked at him and put her head back onto the side of the hammock without attacking him!

Every little development is noted!

Claws crossed, we may get a peaceful, fight free night tonight!

Bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret!
