There's a Haircut coming!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here!

We had some heavy rain last night and Holly and I were thinking we may need our rain coats but just before we were ready to go, it stopped!

Old Two Legs said there was one of his famous 'Windows' in the air and we managed to get around before it all started again!

It was the same at lunchtime, there sitting to the west was another window so off we went again!

Lucky for us it stayed dry!
Just for a change, we didn't meet anyone on our walk and Old Two Legs said he should have brought young Eric along with us!

You know we didn't even see another Grain Rock, just a few fungi looking all wet and soggy!

Holly and I had a run on the beach and found the holes we dug yesterday, OTL didn't get the tennis ball out so we were left to chase our tails along the high tide mark where the sea weed came to rest when the tide went out!

Back home we had a peek into the ferret cage hoping we would find them cuddled up together but today it was separate cuddle cups, mind you, both of them were snoring their tails off!

Now, you know that Eric has got this thing about rubber, well, he has taken to pinching the hair brush that OTL uses on Holly and I. When OTL gets the brush out and starts grooming us it is a sure sign he is preparing us for the dreaded 'Short Back and Sides'!

Lucky for us, Eric has taken to finding the brush and because it is a rubber handled brush, he hides it in the most unusual places, like under the boxes of card stuff The Missus keeps in her work area of the lounge!

So, after a quick brush I escape and the brush gets pinched and hidden and then OTL forgets what he was going to do and I escape a brushing.

Until he remembers and off we go again!

Holly has spent the afternoon sitting at the window watching the birds feeding on TM's stale Tea Bread that she has been storing in the cupboard. The birds love it especially when it rains and the consistency goes from 'Firm' to 'Soggy'.

The pigeons fight over it and chase each other away!

OTL says it makes a change to the normal burnt offerings he gets, I mean, I thought he liked over cooked lettuce!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

Nasty Whizz Bangs!

Hello Woofers!

We are still here, Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

Last night it all started, horrid Whizz Bangs scaring Holly. Those soppy Two Legs letting off loads of nasty Whizz Bangs down on the Caravan Site. I suppose they think it was all good fun but Holly decided that she would sink her teeth into their butts if they got any closer!

Holly sat on the sofa with The Missus and later cuddled up with Old Two Legs. She was shivering which lasted until we went to bed!

This morning she was all better but we still have tomorrow night to get over and of course there is next weekend!

The walk this morning was a bit boring, chilly but not raining although there was some rain last night which made the path rather muddy!

The sun was late in getting up and there were some rather dark clouds.

Not the best sunrise we have ever seen!
We did spot the Brant Geese on the mud flats, eating breakfast and honking at each other.

Don't talk with your beak full!

Today has been rather quiet, OTL has been mucking about on the computer and TM has been playing with the glue pot. The ferrets have been asleep and Holly and I have been snoozing and cuddling a chew each!

As we were getting ready to go out OTL was going to bring Eric or Wendy with us but looking in the cage we couldn't find them, they were cuddled up together under the pinny in the same cuddle cup!

Things are getting better!

On our way around the forest we came across piles of grass and bracken, Holly thought t6hat it was piles of grass eating animal poo.

I could sniff the grass but missed out on the poo!

There is a lot here for just one animal!
Down on the beach OTL was throwing the ball for me and I decided to have a game with him. Every time he threw the ball I chased it, dug a hole and tried to bury it!

Let's see him dig this one up!
Back on our path back to the car park OTL found another of those Grain Rocks. It was left on the side of the steps, so, OTL being OTL, he picked it up and transferred it a bit further along the path and put it next to a fungi!

Look! It''s a Rock Agaric!
Back home both Eric and Wendy were both still in the cuddle cup together.  OTL noticed this morning that they were running past each other in almost a play mode. Well, Wendy didn't try to take a lump out of Eric and he didn't make a grab for her neck!

Things are looking up!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

A Horrid Day!

Hello Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret!

Last night as we all headed for bed, Old Two Legs poked his head into the office to check the emails and see wot the ferrets were doing.

The emails were rubbish but the ferrets were in the cuddle cup together! So, more good signs but this morning they were in separate cuddle cups and while Holly and I were out for our morning walk there was some squeaking, not much but enough for The Missus to hear them!

When they were out for their rampage around the house OTL noticed that they passed each other in the lounge and in the kitchen and although wary of each other, they didn't attack!

It was dark and wet on the morning walk and the wind was getting stronger and we didn't hang about!

No more Grain Rocks, I suppose it was just too cold for them!

All through the morning the rain got worse but we thought we could cheer ourselves up by watching England thrash South Africa at rugby.

England got thrashed instead!

It was Horrid!

Then the rain got worse and both Holly and I decided we needed and early walk, so, rather than go down to the beach we had a quick walk around the football field and left some piles of poo for OTL to pick up.

He likes doing that especially in the poring rain!

Back home to get some work finished on the computer and wait for a phone call from TM to pick her up at the village hall, after she had swept up all the glitter!

So, we have the F1 racing to look forward to tonight, Practise and then Qualifying, so we are crossing our claws for a result from Lewis or even his mate Valtteri Bottas!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret!

Missing Grain Rocks!

Hello Woofers,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here!

First day of November today and so far we haven't heard any Whizz Bangs! Maybe we won't hear any and we will have a Whizz Bang free November?

This morning it was dark and there was a fine misty rain that made Old Two Legs leave the camera in the car.

Back home the ferrets were snoozing in their cuddle cups. Yesterday we spotted the pair of them snuggled up together in the big cuddle cup and underneath a crumpled cotton pinafore.

It didn't last long and while OTL was working on the computer, Eric fell out of bed on his way down to have a wee. When he had finished he headed back to bed but climbed into the Cuddle Cup next to Wendy.

During the morning I got a terrible urge to eat grass and I worried OTL to take me out for a walk across the football field. I ate so much grass that OTL said that I was growing into a sheep!

Well, after getting back home I lost the interest in grass and eating it!

Lunchtime came and the rain was still in the air, so, no camera and OTL put his hood up on his rain coat!

We got to where we had left the Grain Rocks and found that they had marched off looking for another place to hide!

Later on, around a quarter to four we all sat down to watch the first practise, Holly was going Brrrm Brrrm all the way through the program.

The race is taking place in Texas and The Misses kept on saying 'I've been there' every time pictures of Texas came up on the screen.

A bit boring really!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

Rock On!

Hello Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret!

No more cuddles for Eric, Miss Wendy has been charging around the lounge and you could almost believe that she was playing with Eric!

Mind you, when they went back to bed there was a squeak or two from Wendy as she threw Eric out of the cuddle cup!

Down on the sea front the Brant Geese were out on the mud flats enjoying breakfast!

It is about this time of the year that they turn up and stay over  the winter before flying off early in the year.

The Brant Geese have a white patch on their rear end!
The sunrise was a rather disappointing and the brightest thing was a jet trail lit by the sun!

Not the most exciting view of the sky!
Lunchtime the tide was in but it looked rough, in fact too rough to even chance a swim!

Come on, let's see if there are any new sniffs ahead.
When we got close to the forest there was a new Grain Rock on the bench. Now this one looked like a ghost holding a pumpkin!

All alone on the bench!
Old Two Legs said that it looked lonely on it's own and we decided to take it to where we left the blue rock the other day.

It will be interesting to see how long it stays there before it is taken!

Boo!
Tonight is Allhallows Night and we will be staying in, cuddled up on the sofa and trying to forget about the fireworks that normally start about now!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

We got visitors today!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here!

This morning was all sunshine and breezy, it made a change from that wind coming from the North Sea!

Just for a change, there was no screaming from Miss Wendy and Eric reserved his attentions on Miss Wendy to a quick butt sniff and then he ran off to play with Old Two Legs who was trying to clean the cage!

We were told that Aunt Zoe, Uncle Paul and Finley, Megan and Ethan would be visiting us this morning. So, hide all the chews and toys and make sure our beds are comfortable for snoozing while they are here!

I don't 'Do' Mini Two Legs and have had a grumble at them before!

Normally I sit on OTL's lap and grumble at them if they get too close! Today was no exception, I grumbled and managed a couple of woofs but OTL was too close for me to do any harm!

It was dark first thing this morning and the wind was getting up, in fact OTL had to take off his glasses 'cos the wind blowing across them made his eyes water!

It even looks cold!
The sunrise was a bit weak, I mean, not even a cloud lighting glow, more of a messy smudge!

No prizes for this show!
Lunchtime we were out a little earlier than normal 'cos Holly had a bit of the old 'Grmbly Tum's'.

The tide was in and the wind was catching the tops and making white horses. Just wait until the winter comes and the wind whips up some big waves, should be fun!

Just the start of the white horses!
Back home the MTL were playing with The Missus card making stuff, you know, loads of ink and inky pads and glue and glitter and other mucky stuff.

I was glad to keep away from them and let them wipe their hands all over the white T Shirts they were wearing!

Now for some great news.

Megan wanted to see the ferrets again and they took a while to locate, there, in the bottom cuddle cup, all cuddled up together was Eric AND Wendy!

OTL sent Megan down stairs to fetch TM to see and we were all smiling and clapping hands and going Oooo and Arrrrrr!

OTL even took a picture through the bars!

Now, we would like to see this every day now!
It didn't last very long but Eric crawled out of the cuddle cup and into another and there were no sounds of screaming from Wendy.

Claws crossed that this good news will keep going!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

It's Eric's Birthday!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here!

OK, all together, on the count of 99.

1,   6,   99!

Happy Birthday to Eric,

His years are numeric,

But his Butt is quite spheric

and so big for a ferret!

 ********************========********************

There, who said we couldn't find a word to rhyme with Eric!

Eric is all of three years old and is such a super ferret.

This morning Miss Wendy was chasing him around the house and we weren't sure if she wanted a 'Birthday Kiss' or to bite a lump out of his bum!

He managed to pinch my chew and as it's his birthday I let him get away with it but managed to rescue it after he had gone back to bed!

We did ask if he wanted to come out for a run but the dark clouds looked like they were carrying too much water!

I think Eric had the right idea!
All we found to chase today were a couple of rooks and they didn't hang around too long either!

Is it worth chasing him?
Lunchtime the tide was right in and even I decided it was too rough to go for a swim!

No, I think I'll pass on a splash today!
It's a good job that the wind wasn't too strong as it came off the sea or the waves might have blown over the Sea Wall and soaked us!

Oops! That was a close one!
Even our sandy beach was given a good wash by the waves and it didn't take long for me to decide that being up on the ea Wall was safer than being wet on the beach!

No, I definitely don't fancy being down there!
As we wended our way through the woods we came across one of those Grain Rocks. This one was sitting in the fork of a tree, so, we arranged that it be moved to where that other grumbly rock was sitting and planted it there!

Not a detailed as the Grumbly Rock but it looked fun!
Old Two Legs has been playing with the computers today, seems that the 'Network' has thrown a wobbler and seems to be missing bits. I can see he is going to order up some new CAT 5 cables and a new longer printer cable!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de 'Old Ferret'!

Back to the colours again!

Hello Woofers,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here!

Well, here is a first for this end of the year, FROST!

It was a shock seeing it all over the windscreen and it took a whole five minutes to clear the screen so we could see where we were going!

Cold, cold frosty morning!
Heading down to Grain the sky was lit by the morning sunrise. The steam from the gas powered electric power station blocked the sun from us as we headed down to the sea side.

No, they are cranes, not giraffes!
Once we got down to the car park the sun was up and with a little careful positioning the trees were back lit!

Back lit!
Lunchtime it was dark grey clouds but no rain, Holly and I found a super sniff that we couldn't leave alone. Old Two Legs had walked nearly all the way down the sea front before we caught up with him.

I don't know why but he checked both Holly and I for signs of rolling in poo!

As if we would!

Well, it looks like it could hold a lot of rain!
Holly suggested that we should start a protest group to get Izzy out of her cage! I suggested we have a march and a chant.

Holly suggested this:-

Let Izzy outta her cage,

When do we want it, NOW!

Let Izzy outta her cage,

When do we want it, NOW!

We thought it was a great laugh and even had OTL marching up and down the office singing it!

Still, it won't be long and as long as her leg has healed she should be alright soon and will get back to rampaging across the fields!

See you all tomorrow!

Licky kisses to Izzy!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

An Extra Hour in bed!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here!

So, how do you feel now you have got an extra hour's snoozing?

Holly an I feel great, an extra hours cuddling up to Old Two Legs back!

Mind you, OTL didn't get any benefit, you see, the hour's change should happen at 02:00hr and for some reason, OTL woke up at 01:44hr and decided to watch the clock switch back an hour. Well, that was the idea, but in the end it got to 02:30hr and OTL got fed up and drifted off to sleep again!

So much for OTL watching time slipping by!

The ferrets got into a fight this morning and it ended up with Wendy attacking Eric just cos he wants a cuddle!

We had our walk in the daylight, that sort of light that wasn't dark or light, but it was light enough to see a couple rabbits on the path!

Lunchtime we decided to go out half an hour earlier than normal, you know, just so we can get adjusted back to real time again!

Once again OTL brought his Infrared camera with him and was having fun playing with the controls again!

Our 'Morning Tree' but in Infrared!
The IR is reflected off the green leaves so, just as an experiment he took a picture that contained no Chlorophyll and it looks like that if there is no chlorophyll then OTL should stick to Black and White!

Not a leaf to be seen!
Heading back along the path a couple of Two Legs were ahead walking and gassing, but the trees were hanging onto the last of the leaves.

Looking for Grain Rocks?
We headed back home and spent time getting ready for the F1 Race this evening. Bags of nibbles and biscuits for us while crisps and chocolate sweets for TM and OTL!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret!

A Different Look!

Hello Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

Well, just for a change, The Missus was in today, no Glue Slapping up the village hall!

She has however, been Glue Slapping in her 'Studio' and the clouds of glitter have blocked up the heating vents!

Once Old Two Legs has cleaned the ferret cage and put them back to bed we crept into the office and enjoyed a super snooze!

Warm, comfortable and draught free!
Now I know that the photo looks 'different' and that's cos OTL has just received his copy of a specialist magazine on landscape photography and there, on page eleven is an article on Infrared Photography!

So, out comes OTL's IR camera and he has decided to spend the weekend playing with it!

He has taken some 'interesting' shots in the past but that was in the summer when the chlorophyll in the leaves reflect the IR and you can get some crazy colour hues!

Holly in IR!
This one is our local church which is around nine hundred years old!

No, that's not snow, it's grass!
OTL reckons if you use RAW there is some strange effects to be had!

Yeah, OK, what ever!

This morning it was just too dark to use the camera so we had to wait until lunchtime before he could bring it out with us.

Lunchtime the ferrets were still asleep so we had OTL to ourselves, well him and the camera!

The path leads to the Sea Wall..
OTL was playing with the controls on the camera cos he hasn't played with IR for some time and his memory isn't what it used to be!

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee!
The first photo and the forth, fifth and sixth have come straight out of the camera and no Fiddly Diddly on the computer!

It would be interesting to see what some Fiddly Diddly would do to it.

Holly suggested 'Screwed Up' would be a good description!

The Long Path Home!
OTL says he may try some more IR but with a big wide lens on the front but then he remembered it was re-engineered to work on the 35mm that was on the camera. So, it's going to be a case of OTL walking closer if he wants to zoom in and get creative at 35mm!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May and Eric de Ferret.
