Hello Rosie Chops!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here!

We love Saturdays, we get time to have fun and not worry about the day job. We leave all the guarding to The Missus and get time to relax and put our paws up after a long week!

Archie Babe knows all about valuing time off!

We got up at the normal time 'cos we didn't want to waste any part of Saturday and lucky for us it was just before the sun got up.

There were clouds low down on the horizon so we didn't get to see the sun, however, Old Two Legs did his best!

How about one and a half trees?
As I said, there was no sign of the sun but we did get to see the valour trails from the planes heading off to far off places!

Err! Which way to Moscow?
We got to the top of the hill and managed a moody shot that includes the sky, dawn and the incoming tide!
The tide ripple looks good?
After all that excitement we headed for home cos there was a big bowl of chicken waiting for us!

OK, that's it for another day!
TM has been up the village hall today on the monthly crop where they make such a mess with the glue and glitter!

We got a message that Rosie would be up there so both Monty and Wendy came out with us for a walk at lunchtime.

We were going to take Eric but he was fast asleep and didn't wake up until we were heading out of the front door!

We'll give him a walk tomorrow, he can get some fresh air and enjoy hunting out sniffs!

Monty getting the midday sniff!
Once they have go used to the grass both Monty and Wendy just love walking along the top path and across the football field!

After the walk we dropped into the village hall to say hello and get a cuddle from Rosie.

Wendy got introduced to all the girls there and got stroked by most of them.

The others had inky fingers!

Back home we decided to have a rest on the sofa while OTL had a snooze with his paws up!

TM has just got in so we are off to give her a big 'Woofer Welcome' and of course if we are lucky, a treat!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret

OTL gets a Head Ache!

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Well, today we have been good girls 'cos Old Two Legs has been trying to understand some notifications from the Her Majesty Revenue & Customs!

It's all to do with exporting to the EU and any other country if we leave the EU without a deal!

Now, at the moment we can send stuff to the EU, remove the VAT from the invoice and send off the goods. However, after the due date we will have to do some serious form filling!

Now that's no problem, providing you know where to down load the forms and where you need to send them and after that manage to translate the instructions from HMRC!

I mean it involves EORI, NES, TSP and a dozen other governmental departments who want to have their say and require to be notified of wot you are sending and other stuff.

OTL has got a head ache and he still is confused!

Maybe that's why we were late in getting up but it was worth it 'cos we got some good sun rise pictures.

First was that tree again and today it don't look too bad!

....and today we get both trees and all of them!
Just around the corner the sun was just crawling over the horizon, looks rather good!

This one looks better on a big screen!
Of course, it didn't take long for the sun to get up and just before we got blasted with sun shine OTL took this, smooth ain't it!

All we need is a four mast yacht with full set of sails crossing the horizon!
There was plenty of frost and of course he had to have a shot at photographing the leaves, however, I prefer the sunrise!

Frosty or wot?
Lunchtime it was much warmer but the mist was still hanging about, especially across the estuary, in fact we couldn't see Southend just the occasional passing ship.

Not even a sniff of Kebab on the breeze!
Today OTL decided to take the ferrets out for a walk. The temperature was warm enough and it was just a case of deciding who would be coming.

Eric and May were fast asleep and even when OTL blew into their cuddle cup, neither of the woke up, so it was Wendy and Monty who get a run out in the sun shine!

Miss Wendy had a run but kept on wanting to get back into the ferret bag for a carry but Monty  managed to walk most of the way around!

It was good to see them run across the football field, sniffing for moles!

Is mole hunting obligatory?
Tomorrow, OTL says that we may bring Eric out for a run and Wendy says that we may also see young Rosie up at the village hall where there is a glue glitter slapping contest!

I think I will stay away from that thank you!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Back to normal!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret again!

Well, here we are, getting up late, again!

But it made a change to see the sky and let Old Two Legs mess about with the camera and his favourite lens, Nikon 28-300 f3.5 with VR (anti wobble)!

It was a good job there was the anti wobble 'cos this morning was cold, frosty cold and it even made us shiver!

Careful, you might get a Frost Bitten Nose!
We spotted a crow up in the tree top waiting for his mate to join him for breakfast!

'Morning Woofers!
There's a tree we pass that OTL keeps looking at 'cos he says that when the light is right and hits it  at the right angle it could look quite dramatic!

Mind you, we will have to see what it's like in the evening then the light will come from the left!

A little more red of a sunrise might add something!
When we got around the corner, the Sun had come up and it was the camera that controlled the light.

What OTL should have done was to switch on the 'Sunset' mode but instead he went with his own settings!

Yes, this is better and we don't think the Sunset mode would have added anything!
Back home OTL didn't get the ferret toys out and May and Eric spent a lot of time hunting balls and storing them under the sofa!

Lunch time we were out again and the frost had disappeared leaving some quaggy puddles on the path!

We told OTL about bringing The Missus up the hill and down into the woods!

OTL said we were 'Terrible Woofers!'

We had to push her up this hill!
We enjoy going through the woods even if the paths were a little 'Damp' in places but OTL had his wellies on and kept away from the squelchy bits!

No, we didn't take her down here 'cos it ends in a brick wall!
OTL says that his eye is so much improved over the 'Foggy' state it was before he had the Laser Treatment. It's going to be six weeks before he can go to the optician and get some new glasses but he is quite happy with the results and he could get away with using the glasses for reading 'cos the distance is clear and sharp!

TM has to go back to the hospital next week to see how her eyes are doing and there may be a need to have a minor operation to remove some fluid behind the lens.

We'll have more info after she has had the visit next week.

Dinner calls, see you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

All polished and shiny new!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here!

It has been a good day today. First we were out a little earlier than normal but the dawn was just about to break. Old Two Legs didn't take the camera 'cos he thought there wouldn't be enough dawn to photograph!

OK, it wasn't a big blast of sun but there was a bit of red there!

The reason we were early was because OTL had to get his eyeball polished!

That means The Missus was in charge of our walkies.

Well, she thought she was!

Normally OTL takes us to the car park and lets us chose which way to go. Now TM didn't know this but we soon rushed off ahead and we led her up the hill and down to the sea shore.

She loves this exercise!

We then ran along the top path and she chased after us thinking we were going to get lost, as if!

The best bit was the game OTL and I play. You see, we get to the football field and OTL walks off towards the car and if he forgets me, I sit down and watch the birds flying overhead.

OTL gets back to the car and calls me to follow.

I still sit there looking at the clouds and the birds.

OTL shouts some more, then he starts jumping up and down and yelling.

I still sit there watching the aeroplanes flying towards Heathrow and the birds and the clouds.

OTL gets fed up with shouting and starts stomping over the football field, heading towards me wot is still looking at the planes and the birds and the clouds and the bushes where the rabbits hide.

I let him get to within ten feet then rush past him and run all the way back to the car!

TM didn't know the game so I had her running all over the field chasing me!

Do you think that is why I didn't get any treats when we got home?

OTL arrived back home and as I type, his eyes are getting better and he has got to wait six weeks before he can get another test at the optician and some new lenses in his glasses.

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret.

Let's try another lens?

Hi Woofers!

Here we are, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret.

It's been rather quiet today, Old Two Legs has been messing about with spread sheets and clearing out his clothes cupboard.

That is a good task and the ferrets enjoy it as well 'cos they love rolling about his old shirts and burrowing into his socks 'cos they go in where OTL puts his paws. Then they can poke their noses out of the holes that OTL's big toe has dug a hole!

It is so funny to see a ferret nose sticking out of a sock end!

The morning walk was rather dark and chilly and it wasn't worth taking the camera.

After cleaning the ferret cages OTL set about deciding on what lens to take with us at lunchtime.

In the end he decided to try the 105mm Close Up Lens, just so he could see what would happen when he pressed the 'Close Up' button on the camera and this is what happened!

His name is Rocky!
This picture of Rocky is really a model of a ferret that was presented to OTL last year!

Our lunchtime walk took us over the old fort and through the bushes down to the sea shore.

As we worked our way around the big hill we spotted a cat! A big mean looking cat who was after catching a bird or two. He spotted us at the same time and for some reason decided not to hang about to say hello!

Oi!
Us, going to 'Discuss Bird Hunting'

Tally Ho!
We didn't get the cat 'cos it disappeared into the trees, scaring all the birds!

OTL started working on the leaves and stuff, mind you, it didn't help having the wind blowing the leaves around!

Some moss and a bramble bush leaf!
Next we found an Ivy Leaf that looked like it was in the out of the wind so, switching on the 'Close Up' button he ran off this shot.

Ivy Leaf.
As we headed off towards the car there was a chugging and puffing and one of the wardens came along the path driving one of the tractor things they use to take all the waste wood and branches to be shredded and spread on the muddy paths!

Hi Woofers and OTL!
Back home OTL finished his work and then decided to clean both Holly's and my eyes 'cos they were a bit crusty, too much wind blowing in our face!

Tomorrow OTL is off to get his eyeballs polished! Should be fun!

See you tomorrow and we'll let you know how OTL gets on!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret.

Technology 'aint always best!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here!

Now, you know that Miss May has got Insulinoma and is on a course of pills to help control her trouble. To start off, she wouldn't take her pill when it was crushed in a spoon full of Ferretone. Old Two Legs changed over to adding a couple of spoonfuls of Lactose Free Milk. The vet said it wasn't good to give her the milk 'cos it contained sugar. Well, OTL tried and tried but Miss May is a stubborn little lady and in the end OTL gave up and mixed the pill in the milk.

Miss May now drinks the milk and the crushed pill and she has improved no end. OTL says it's a case of quality of life over the vets instructions!

We had something similar today when we were out. You remember I told you that OTL has found some buttons on the camera that is supposed to make taking a picture easier. Well, he has tried another setting today and...........well you decide.

We were out early this morning and for a change the clouds had all gone and the stars were out. By the time we got down to the shore the dawn had begun.

On the camera there is a button labelled Dusk/Dawn and another marked Sunset. Ho Ho thinks OTL, let's see what the camera does against what OTL thinks the setting should be.

First of all, we pressed the button for Dusk/Dawn and this is what popped out of the camera. Now, honest, you will have to believe OTL when he says he has done nothing to these pictures except crop to size.

Honest, no fiddly diddly on the computer!
Next he switched to Sunset setting and rattled off another shot.

Dunno about you but it looks the same to us!
And now OTL sets the camera as he would do normally and again, no fiddly diddly just crop to size.

Now, wot do you think?

Holly and I prefer the OTL setting! Mind you, there are times when he gets it all wrong and makes a right cods of it!

Still, we can't be perfect all the time!

We have been out this afternoon delivering stuff and while OTL is out of the car we stand on guard and tell anyone who gets close, to 'Woof Off'!

Later this week OTL is off to get his eyeball polished with a laser. I'm not too sure what they do but we are crossing our claws that he will be able to read his magazines that have been piling up. At the moment the pile is about six inches high!

Doggy Scoff today, I think I'll go on strike, no cuddles for anyone!

See you all tomorrow and with a bit of luck we may try OTL's Close Up Lens and the button marked 'Close Up'!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret.

Back Again!

Hello Woofers!

Here we are again! Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret.

Sorry about yesterdays non appearance, we had a power failure that lasted a long time, in fact it was so long that we sent The Missus out for some fish and chips!

All OK now and we are all up and back running again.

Now we had a problem yesterday that got Holly Chops in a bit of a state.

Yesterday Holly had a small attack of the Grumbly Tum's and needed a Butt Wash when we got back from the lunchtime walk. No problem there, she was given the first water and soap wash but the power failure stopped the gas water heater from heating up the water 'cos it is electricity that controls it all.

So, after the first luke warm Butt Wash the rinsing was done in freezing cold water.

Have you tried a freezing cold Butt Wash or any freezing cold wash?

Holly will confirm that it certainly wakes you up!!!

So, it was an early start this morning, Holly's Grumbly Tum was still giving her problems but a walk along the sea shore was pleasant even if the last of Erik the Storm was leaving the UK!

Old Two Legs was giving us a brush and said that we both were looking 'Ragged' and in need of a hair cut!

We managed to convince him that it was far too early in the year for the first trim!  Well, Holly said that if he tries that she will bite his butt when he's asleep!

He'd better not come near me with that cloth or the clippers!
Now, on the lunchtime walk we were discussing just when Spring starts and we decided that it has nothing to do with with the calendar but rather when the woods started to have that green hue about it!

We have decided that Spring is here and the 'Green Hue' has started!

Yep! Springs here!
Just for a change we got attacked by a couple of Two Legs and a couple of butt sniffing woofers!

All they wanted to do was give us a stroke, Holly falls for it but I was off like a rocket, no one is stroking me without permission from OTL!

'Who's a pretty little woofer?
OTL has been playing with the little camera and has found some 'Special Effects' buttons and one is for close ups, so, with just a 35mm lens on the camera he took this picture of this bramble bush leaf.

It might be interesting to try a close up lens on the camera and the close up setting!
We were having a sniff about in TM's card room and found our ball that lights up when you throw it. Archie Babe sent it down as a Christmas Prezzie and those pesky ferrets thieved it!

Just wait until they next wake up, I'm going to have a serious word with them!

Today we had chicken for dinner and just for a change, it was warm and greasy, just how we love it!

Today, OTL is watching the rugby so I suppose I'll have to go down stairs and watch the game with him.

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret.

Windy, Wet and Walkies!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Storm and Monty de Ferret!

We couldn't resist that one!

Someone told Eric that they had named a storm after him so he was doing his best to live up to the fame!

He spent all of his 'Rampage Time' tearing around the house, getting into the most terrible trouble. In fact he even got told off by Miss May for bonking her on the head as he rushed past!

When we went out for our walk Old Two Legs had pulled the hood over the top of his head and hat and tried to hide inside just 'cos the wind was so strong!

It didn't change much all day and even at lunch time the wind was still howling.

Talking about howling, we got down to the football field, Holly and I spotted those Husky Woofers and decided to give them a good woofing.

We ran down the field, Holly woofing and I was doing my 'Howling Wolf' impression!

I didn't get too close but holly went right up to them, it was at that point that they chased after her!

Luckily they were on a lead and the Two Legs almost got pulled off his paws!

I stood at a reasonable distance, I'm not going to risk getting to close to those hairy arsed monsters!

Just before Holly got told to Woof Off!
We headed off into the undergrowth, trotting along in single file Indian Style so no one will know how many of us there are!

Indian Style!
It makes a change to go through the trees 'cos it breaks the wind up and we don't get blown all over the place.

It also gives OTL time to gaze around the woods for any wild life or interesting things to photograph.

Today there was nothing scurrying about except us, so, he started to fiddle with his camera settings, first he found a B&W button.

A Monochromatic Woofer!
Now this one is called the Miniature Effect which is supposed to look like one of those Tilt/Shift lenses. Holly and both think that 'Fuzzy Around The Edge is a better description!

We reckon it would look better if you got really close to the subject!
Back home the ferrets were fast asleep in their beds and Eric was so worn out he didn't even rattle the cage door to come out!

Who knows, he may just be saving it all up for tonight, just as OTL is going to bed!

Now, wot's all this about Archie Babes Boy and his Thyroids?

OTL had half of his Thyroids removed and it has left him with a super big scar around his throat!

He reckons that it took a couple of weeks to get him back up and running but it still makes him look like Frankensteins Monster!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Storm and Monty de Ferret!

There's a storm coming in!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Well, what a change from last week, blue skies, wind and sunshine!

Now I don't mind the sunshine and the wind but freezing cold and horizontal rain just 'aint my bowl of scoff!

Now, we have been looking on the BBC Weather web site and Holly tells us that there is a storm heading our way. Now, normally we wouldn't get too upset 'cos being down here in the South East we tend to get the best weather. I mean, we haven't even had any snow while the rest of the world has been running around in snow ploughs!

Back to the storm, out there in the Atlantic there is a low pressure system heading our way and the MET Office have declared it to be a storm and they have named it.......ERIK!

OK, it's not the English spelling but it sounds the same!

We reckon that Erik is a great name for a storm and if our Eric is anything to go by, we had better get everything lashed down 'cos it will feel like a hurricane!

Eric has started to get a bit demanding, you see, after his and May's rampage in the morning, we let Monty and Wendy out for a rampage but Eric wants to get out of the cage and go on another rampage!

He climbs up onto the cage door and proceeds to give it a good rattle, in fact Old Two Legs reckons that if he keeps going, the door will open!

That means he gets to have another run around in the office, with the door shut, until Monty and Wendy want to get back in the cage for their morning snooze!

Lunchtime we left the noisy ferrets and headed off for a run along the sea shore.

It was Holly's turn to decide which way to go and off she went, chasing sniffs and rabbits!

Come on, this way, I can sniff sniffs!
OTL got all fillysoffical about a new day and spring flowering and all that, then he took some pictures of the rose hips that hadn't been eaten by the birds!

A Rose Hip and some Double Cream, super!
We passed a seat that a Two Leg family had put there in memory of Anthony, well, that's all there was on the cards hanging in little plastic bags.

Mind you, there was a bunch of twigs in the shape of a heart that had a funny sniff about it.

Come to think of it, it looks nothing like the lambs heart we used to get for dinner a few years ago!

No thanks, that sniff makes me sneeze!
Back home it was Doggy Scoff again but to be honest, I was that hungry I shovelled it down like it was going out of date!

Then I went after a teeth cleaning chew, but that's another story!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

.......and that's when the fight started!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here!

Wot a damp old start to today, even Old Two Legs pulled his wellies on when we went out for our morning walk. There was no sign of the sunrise and there was rain in the air as well, not our favourite!

Back home Holly and I retired to the bedroom and the ferrets were let out for their morning rampage while OTL cleaned the cages.

Now, one of the treats we get in the morning is the 'Teeth Cleaning Chew' which is better than the mouldy old carrot The Missus tries to fob us off with sometimes!

Now, not only does Holly and I love the chews, the ferrets do as well!

They enjoy the bits OTL chops up for them and when they finish, if there is any left, they stash what is left, under their blankets or bed.

Holly does the same thing, she gets a chew runs up to the bedroom and hides it under OTL's pillow.

After that she runs into the office looking for my chew so she can pinch it, but I've hidden it under my bed!

So, while she is searching for my chew, I am in the bedroom searching for her chew and after a while, find it under the pillow!

So, there is Holly chomping away on my chew while I'm chomping away on her chew!

It's at this point that the chews have been demolished and we head off to find our own chews, hidden in our 'special place'.

Well, Jubilation turned into Desolation 'cos we couldn't find our 'well hidden' chews!

At this point we both look at the ferret cages and questioned the ferrets.

Not that it did any good 'cos I wouldn't believe them if they told me I was a woofer!

That was it, the only guilty person was Holly, or if you were Holly, I was the guilty woofer!

So, standing in the corridor, nose to nose, eyeball to eyeball we discussed it further.

.......and that's when the fight started!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret.
