........and then the fight started!

Hi Woofers!

Us here again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Well, the weather has been 'uninspiraring' to say the least. About the only thing that has changed is the rain has stayed away!

Mind you, we have had some 'disscusions' with a couple of the local woofers!

Before that we went hunting rabbits with Old Two Legs. Now OTL can't run as fast as Holly and I 'cos he hasn't Paw x Par traction like wot we have but he does have a sneaky way of spotting the rabbits!

Wot happens is that OTL sneaks on ahead and spots the rabbit, then, he gives our 'rabbit spotting call' and Holly and I come tearing over the hill and after the rabbits.

Problems occur when Holly starts her run down the bottom of the hill and tears up the hill without knowing where the rabbits are and of course, she looks one way and rabbits go the other way, result?

No Rabbits!

Hey Soppy Chops, you've done it again!
The sunrise wasn't that good either 'cos there was too much cloud and the small holes in the cloud didn't really do much!

Not exactly mind blowing!
It was good to get back home 'cos we sniffed some chicken that The Missus is going to cook for today's nosh!

Lunchtime we were out again but nothing had improved so Holly and I were keen to get back home.

Holly was ahead and out of sight but we could hear her barking a sort of 'Challenge Woof' that's the one we give when we don't know what it is in front of us!

Well, we got up to the football field and couldn't see what she was going on about but OTL saw that there was a Two Legs with a couple of Staffies, on leads, were hiding around the corner and half way into the bushes!

Well, Holly was giving it some woof and I joined in.

That was until one of the woofers got off it's collar and came tearing after Holly and I!

Well, we hadn't come across these before but OTL got down on one of his knees and gave them both a tickle on their backs!

In the end we decided that they were a pair of jokers and loved OTL's tickle rather than taking a lump out of my butt!

Holly and I kept away from them and OTL helped put the collar back on the woofer who's name was Molly!

Come on then, I'll take you for a walk this time!
Maybe next time we will be OK with them but not today!

Blow me, as soon as we got rid of them who should turn up but Erik!

It's Erik!
We have know Erik since he was a little puppy, mind you, he is still a puppy but he is growing into a handsome woofer!

The carrier delivered OTL's camera back from the menders and that will go away with him next week!

We have got loads of stuff on the landing where OTL has been gathering the stuff he will need and he has even found his 'shooting stick', now we haven't seen that for several years!

Now at least he will have somewhere to sit while he's waiting for the Crested Tit or Red Squirrel!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

A Woofer has been cold today!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here!

It was a bit chilly today! I mean, like this morning we headed out expecting a small sun rise photo but by the time we got down to the beach, the sun had got up and was heading off into the sky!

Late again Woofers?
It didn't help having the wind blowing in off the sea, that dropped the temperature a few degrees and we were glad to get back home!

One good thing about going through the trees and bushes, it cuts the wind down and allows us to catch up on the sniffs!

After you with the sniff!
Lunchtime arrived and as the sun had come out, Old Two Legs decided to take the ferrets out with us for a walk.

Eric was showing off  'cos he would rather have stayed at home tucked up in a nice warm cage!

Miss may enjoyed the first bit of the walk across the football field but as soon as she felt the wind blowing in off the sea she was straight up OTL's leg and into the ferret bag where Eric had already buried himself in the warmest corner!

Both ferrets refused to come out until they got back to the football field where Miss May spent some time digging in the mole hills!

Even that couldn't hold her attention when the wind changed slightly and both May and Eric got a cold blast run up their tail!

Let's hope tomorrow will be a bit warmer!

Today The Missus collected her new glasses, that means she can now see properly and her wonky eye!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret.

.........and then the rain started!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here!

I just don't know what has happened to the weather, I mean, it is supposed to be summer time and that should mean sunshine, warm winds, balmy breezes and warm places to sit and watch the world go by!

Instead, wot we got?

Soggy paws, rain on our heads and a wind that seems to find it's way up yer tail with a vengeance!

Mind you, we tend to get the best weather down here in North Kent! Old Two Legs is heading off with Alun next week but we reckon they will get more rain and even some snow!

Here we have been watching out for the birds who have been on guard setting up their territories for nesting.

As we approached the car park we spotted a big lumpy pigeon being chased by a sparrow!

Yesterday OTL got a picture of a male blackbird and today he managed to creep up on a female blackbird who didn't see him until the last moment!

Boo!
It was a surprise to see Sid The Streak's brother, Cedric The Slime, out for an early morning jog across the football field!

Can't stop, let me slide on through!
Holly and I were more interested in hunting rabbits but as normal, Holly got too excited and chase after the rabbits far too early leaving them plenty of time to get away!

It's no good Holly, your going to exercise more self control!
Not that she was listening 'cos she was off chasing more rabbits who were miles away!

Mind you, with all the sea fog around the coast it was amazing that she could see rabbits!

............................and That's Sheerness!
One good thing happened today, Miss May took it upon herself to have a play fight with Eric! They were both rolling on the floor 'Mouth Fighting' and tugging on each others ear!

That was such a good thing to see when you consider that a couple of weeks ago May was having problems standing!

Monty and Wendy are just as active, chasing each other around the house and when they get tired, Miss Wendy heads for the 'Pinny Box' and falls asleep under the pinnies until OTL finds her and puts her back to bed!

Today OTL has been getting all his camera gear out and getting it ready to go!

I think that he will be spending a lot of time photographing the rain!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Back to work again!

Hello Woofers!

It's us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Well, we were late to bed last night 'cos Old Two Legs wanted to see a couple of episodes of  'Game of Thrones' on the TV so Holly stayed up with OTL while I sneaked off to bed to keep The Missus company, only problem is, she likes to take up too much of the bed and when OTL and Holly want to get into bed there's only room for one, Holly!

OTL gets all grumpy!

This morning we were up late but it didn't matter cos there was rain in the air and a mist on the ground! So, not the most exciting walk along the sea shore!

OTL kept looking landward to see what birdy's he could see in the trees but there were no rare birds at all just a .......

A Blackbird looking for breakfast.
Then we spotted a Magpie sitting high up in the tree looking to keep his territory free from other magpies!

This is my tree!
As we headed for home there was a seagull sitting on top of a mobile phone mast and he was rather rude 'cos he told us to clear orf!

Clear Orf or I'll poo on you all!
Holly mumbled something about seagull soup but we didn't hang about too long!

Looking out to sea we couldn't see a thing, just too much mist and fog but we did hear the fog horn blasting away, it sounded rather sad!

That fog horn don't arf rattle your ears!
Back home OTL has been doing some engineering while Holly and I did some snoozing!

Miss May was almost up to her ears in the Convalescence Powder stuff in the small bowl, she just loves that stuff!

Lunchtime it was The Missus who gave her the Convalescence Powder stuff and May sat on TM's lap slurping it down while watching some craft stuff on the TV!

The leaves on the trees are really racing along now and it won't be long before they are all out.

Dunno what it is called but it wasn't there yesterday!
We met up with Miss Polly, she is the one that just loves OTL and as soon as she gets to OTL's legs, she rolls onto her back to get her tummy tickled.

Tart!

She was just the same when it was time to go, roll onto her back and refuses to go!

I ain't going anywhere until I get another tickle!
Holly and I were wondering if I would get a wash and shave today but as there was loads to do I reckoned I'll get away with it today. Holly was saying that it wasn't too long before she got used to the haircut, even if it was a little short!

Mind you, this jacket helps!
OTL reckons that with he haircut, Holly looks about the same size as me even though I haven't had a shave yet and to prove it he took a picture!

Yeah, but side ways on it's a different story all together!
I see that Archie Babe has yet to make friends with that Alexa Thing I mean, sticking up pictures of Archie without permission is just not on!

OTL is off next week with Alun to Scotland, a place called The Cairngorms which sounds like something you could catch if you sat on cold stones!

He is taking all his photo stuff including his big lens which he hopes will come in handy to photograph red squirrels and crested tits and deer and owls and eagles and who knows he might even see an osprey!

There on the other paw, if it rains he will just have to put up with visiting all the whisky distilleries in the area!

Poor OTL, such a hard life he has!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Bald Holly!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here!

Now today has been a day of two halves, you see, Old Two Legs was up early this morning 'cos Holly Chops decided to go down stairs for a midnight snooze, then, getting fed up with that she decided to come back up to bed.

Normally that would be no problem but for some reason she was worried about jumping back up on the bed in case I was in a location where she would land on top of me, starting a fight!

So, the was Holly, on the floor, in the dark, looking up at the bed.

There was only one way to find out where I was, she needed the light turned on!

How do we get the light turned on?

Woof!

The Missus, being awake at this silly time of the morning turned the bedside light on and in a flash, up jumps Holly!

On landing on the bed she heads over to where OTL is snoring and proceeds to give his bald head a seriously long lick!

OTL is now awake!

That's it, if we are all awake then why not go out for a walk?

Outside it was misty, wet and raining.

No camera this morning and a rather damp walk along the sea side.

Lunchtime was no better and it was raining just a bit harder than it was this morning.

Back home OTL got the table out of the shed, the table he uses to hold Holly and I when we get shaved!

Holly was dragged into the kitchen and after being roped to the metal structure that looks like some scaffolding, got shaved!

She was in the kitchen a long time 'cos Holly didn't like being shaved and it had been a long while since she was last shaved!

About an hour later she was let out and rushed straight up into OTL's office and onto her bed under the desk!

She is now writing to the RSFPOHC complaining about the treatment she has received from OTL!

RSFPOHC? Royal Society For the Protection Of Holly Chops!

Not that I think she will win her case!

This afternoon OTL was up in the office when both Eric and May decided that they wanted to get out of the cage for a rampage around the office. They found some bubble wrap and proceeded to pop the bubbles and dig holes in it. Seems this Convalescence Powder stuff is going down a treat with Miss May. This afternoon she was rattling the cage to get out and proceeded to beat Eric up, roll in the bubble wrap and climb up both cages, sit on top and wait until OTL offered his shoulder for her, and Eric, to get off the tops of the cages!

Come on, rescue me!

Of course if OTL tells you to stay away from the top of the cage, you can always investigate the drawers!

Can't find me!
One thing May likes doing is winding up Holly.

She goes over to the door and calls out to Holly that she has a Doggy Chew and is eating it!

Holly goes potty but can't get in the office to rescue her chew!

I got Doggy Chews, I got Rawhide Chews, I got Doggy Treats and I'm eating them all!
Holly goes potty!

It's lucky that the ferrets get tired quickly or Holly might be chewing on a Ferret Chew!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Saturday Shave!

Hi Ho Woofers!

It's Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret again!

You know, we expected it to be a little warmer today but when we went out this morning to wind was blowing and the temperature felt like twenty below!

Holly was worried in case Old Two Legs was planning to shave us today. You see, we have been watching him charge up both batteries in the electric shaver!

He can't be still thinking of a shampoo and shave, can he?
It was good to get into the woods 'cos that added some protection against the wind and it gave us a chance to see how much the plants had grown over the last few days!

Any more and we could call it a jungle!
Just for a change we spotted a 'Wormy Man' in the mud but he didn't look like he was catching many worms!

Here Wormy Wormy! Come to Daddy!
Back home The Missus had gone up the village hall for some glue slapping so we could enjoy a snooze on the bed while OTL got busy with the ferret cage job!

Miss May was a little wobbly this morning but that didn't slow her down and as soon as Convalescence Powder hit the floor she was straight in up to her ears!

I think that is a success for OTL and it's doing her good!

Lunchtime the weather was just the same and so far, no wash and shaves!

Coming up the Thames we spotted a three mast sailing ship in the mist.

It was obviously using and engine to get her up river especially as the tide was going out!

Maybe it's a Pirate Ship heading up into London on a raid?
OTL was pointing out the new leaves that were bursting out of the buds and that had been just over night!

Don't look too bad, wonder what it will be like tomorrow?
We met up with the lads and while the Two Legs were discussing how to confuse a woodpecker we managed to have a chat about the woolly jumpers Yappy and his mate had on.

Holly says that out coats were good and windproof but they didn't go far enough down yer back!

Yeah, but with my hair being nice and thick the wind doesn't get all the way through!
Now Holly had a roll in something that OTL thought was a bit suspect and not long after getting back home she was put in the shower and with OTL kneeling there with the shampoo in his paws!

Holly got washed from nose to tail, then rinsed with the shower from tail to nose and back again!

Once that was done she got dried off using the doggy towels but OTL didn't get out the blaster!

Instead, he dried Holly off leaving her just a little damp all over. She was taken into the kitchen and with OTL on his knees, she got shaved around her face and then under her tail!

Well, she won't get messy when she has a poo and TM can see holly's eyes!

Mind you, OTL says that if the weather gets any better, the rest of Holly will get the shaver!

The only thing about that is..............I will be next!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret.

Speedy Miss May!

Hi Woofers!

We're back again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

Have we had a lucky escape today!

Old Two Legs was planning on giving Holly and I a wash 'n' dry and hair cut!

When we were out first thing this morning it was rather dark and foreboding plus the wind was whipping through the trees making even OTL shiver in his big warm jacket!

When the wind blows off the Medway or The Thames it can get right chilly!
We were grumbling at the thought of wash and especially the 'Blaster' that blows all the water off and freezes the bits that shouldn't be frozen!

We didn't hang about waiting while he took this one, too blooming cold!
After our walk we headed back to the car, only to be met by some of the lads who were just starting their walk!

Careful as you go around the corner lads, the wind will blow yer bits off!
Back home OTL was cleaning the cages when he got a call on the telephone from one of his customers. Seems they we having problems and needed OTL to call on them and get things 'Sorted'!

Now, this sounded like an opportunity for us!

OTL was chatting away and we heard him say that he would call on them 'This Afternoon'!

Yay! That was just super, no time for a wash and splosh!

The customer is the local Priory and that means OTL has to be on his best behaviour when he goes in there!

Well, by the time he got back it was almost evening and of course Holly and I were safe!

Tomorrow The Missus is off to the village hall so, if OTL gets all his jobs done PDQ then he may have time to do Holly and I.

Mmmm! I think that tomorrow we will have be a little mischievous and with a bit of luck get out of the 'Wash 'n' Splosh!

Let's face it, we don't want to end up like Archie Babe, bald and frozen!

Miss May is on her second day of her Convalescence Powder and to be honest, she was dashing around yesterday and this morning she was darting about like a rat up a drainpipe!

That Convalescence Powder seems to be doing her some good, three helpings a day seems to be doing her some good! Claws crossed she keeps in this good mood!

Hey, we didn't tell you about Bertie did we? Now, we haven't got the full story, but, there was this Doodle Dog who's Two Legs couldn't look after him for one reason or other and were looking to 'Re-Home' him.

So, being a very lucky woofer, he met up with Lawrence and Pat, (Pat is one of the glue slappers up the hall!)

Well, talk about fall on ya paws! Bertie Babe has settled down to a very happy life! He gets fed and watered and to repay the kindness, he is permanently on guard duty!

Bertie has spotted the 'Lesser Spotted Baggy Butt Postman' and gives him a seriously good woofing every day!

Who needs curtains when I'm on guard duty?
It's good to hear a happy tale like wot that that is, unlike the terrible thing that is going to happen to Holly and I.........................Wash, Splosh and Shaved!

Life can be so cruel to little woofers like wot we iz!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!

It's Monty's Birthday today!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret back again!

Well, today it has been brighter but it was still cold this morning, I'll be glad when summer gets started proper!

It may be sunny but the frost had only just melted!
One good thing was the Daffy Dilly's were all getting their flowers and waving gently in the breeze!

Trouble is, they are only down one side of the path!
We still can't make out what these things are but whatever they are, they are growing all over the place! These are the patch we saw the other day, they are looking like they want to burst into something but we are not sure if it is a bloom or fungi head!

No, we still don't know what they are!
Lunchtime it was warmer but not warm enough to leave Old Two Legs hat behind and to be honest, we didn't see too much that was interesting.

OTL was trying to get some action shots of the birdies that were diving in and out of the trees. As the leaves had not got all their leaves yet, it was easy for the birds to see us and and by the time OTL whips his camera up, they had flown!

OK, it's a Wood Pigeon escaping!
His attention was taken by a couple of insects, one is a bee but we are not sure what it is yet as we haven't looked him up in the Book of Bees and the other looks like a weird Solder Beetle but it is too early for them, so that's another we have got to look up!

It could be one of the Solitary Bees?

This one is seriously weird!
Now, the best thing about today is that it is Monty's Birthday! He is a whole year old today and Monty, being Monty, had a wonderful game with Miss Wendy this morning chasing each other all over the house!

He is a different Monty to the Monty that first turned up here all scared and afraid of everything. He was being picked on by the others and even had to sleep on his own out in the cage instead of sleeping with all the others. It took a little while for him to settle down with Wendy 'cos she was a little scared of other ferrets as well, but, now they couldn't be happier together!

So, all together, after three........6, 97, 3!

Happy Birthday Monty Chops
He loves games in a box,
Does Poo's on paper squares
an' wee's on the stairs!

Monty is good at poo'n on the paper Old Two Legs puts down in the mornings when the ferrets come out for a rampage. All the other ferrets sort of poo around the paper instead of on it!

Miss May has had two helpings of the Convalescence Powder that arrived yesterday. She slurped down the first bowl full this morning but didn't finish it, we think that OTL put too much powder in the bowl and mixed it with Lactose Free milk. She lapped up half of it and Eric helped her finish off the rest!

This lunch time OTL mixed up some more but this time it was a 'Level Teaspoon' and Milk and she finished off the bowl down to the last lick!

OTL says he is going to give her another helping tonight before bed, she certainly is a bit livelier today, we are not sure if it is the Convalescence Powder, the milk or the lump of raw beef or even the cooked beef!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret.

Sun, Rain, Snow and Cold!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret back with you again!

You know I thought that Summer Time was supposed be full of warm winds and sunshine.

Not today, today it has been all of the seasons in one hit! There has been snow, (up North) and down here it is rain and then there was the sun that was fighting a loosing battle 'cos it was windy as well!

Not that inspiring is it?

It was so uninspiring that this morning we even left the camera in the car!

Come lunchtime it was a little better, not much, but just a little!

The woods are getting greener and the rabbits have got places to hide!
The wind had blown a lot of the clouds away and the sun came out but the wind kept the temperature down, I think it's called 'Wind Chill'.

I call it cold!

OK, how long before the wind goes away?
Once we got back into the forest we saw the new leaves bursting out of the buds. It's fun trying to guess the name of the tree!

Could it be a conker tree?
Back home Old Two Legs was working on some stuff that has to be shipped tomorrow.

It's all go for our little 'Entrepreneur'!

Let's hope tomorrow is warmer!

Bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret.

Lazy OTL!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret here!

You know how super efficient our Old Two Legs is? I mean, up at crack of dawn, rushing around cleaning and generally getting everyone sorted out ready for the day ahead?

Not today, OTL was a whole hour late in getting up this morning 'cos he had a bad night, indigestion, and his night was rather disturbed with hunting around for some tablets which he couldn't find so it was back to a few mouth fulls of milk and a grumble about The Missuses cooking.

Only TM didn't do any cooking last night and if she did. just what damage can she do with a pork pie salad?

Answers on a post card!

We didn't reckon on the weather and it looked like rain was going to chase us all the way home!

I think that is called a  'Squall'!
Back home TM was cooking our chicken so Holly and I kept guard at the kitchen door to make sure she doesn't burn it like wot she does to OTL's dinner.

I mean, how many people cook a salad?

Lunchtime it was a little better but not warm enough to bring the ferrets with us, so, they stayed at home snoozing!

It was interesting to see just how the undergrowth had sprouted up since we last photographed it!

Just wait until the leaves come out on the trees!
Mind you, the undergrowth is full of sniffs!

Well, I think it may be a fox!
Being we got up so late we came across a woofer we have seen a couple of time ago. He was out on his own and Holly wanted to rush down woofing at him as a joke!

Come on, let's give him a good woofin'!
Before we could do that, his mate came along behind and whispered in Holly's ear, 'I'm bigger than you'!

So we didn't do any woofing!

Now, your not going to woof at my mate are you?
We left them to it and headed off towards the car park. The plants are growing but we thing that the council will come along with their grass cutters and chop this lot down, like they did last year!

Holly was sniffing around and came across these plant looking things that I reckon look like fungi!

We shall keep an eye on these as we walk past every day and with a bit of luck we won't have them chopped down before we find out what they are!

Strange looking things!
One of the problem when they cut the grass and plants is that the insects have no where to breed and play when the sun shine comes out.

Holly and I are on guard duty again tonight so, if OTL gets up again we will be able to escort him to the fridge for another slurp of milk!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Eric de Ferret and Monty de Ferret!
