High Tides and Wind!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here!

Yes, here we are again, still with our paws on the ground! Didn’t fancy the idea of floating away in the wind like a kite! Mind you, we have some Marsh Harriers down here but no Kites, except to very occasional one passing through!

It was still blowing this morning and in the wind was this horrid rain. Now on its own the rain wouldn’t trouble us at all but because it had some wind behind it, it got right through to our skin!

And that includes Old Two Legs as well!

Like Archie Babe, we didn’t hang about a quick ablution and we were off back home.

There were some trees blown over but nothing to worry us, we just zig zagged around the edges and missed all of them!

Lunchtime the tide was in and it was right up the sea wall, the beach had disappeared and I definitely did not fancy going in for a paddle!

Normally that's all sand and sea weed but not today!
Holly reckons that if the wind was blowing the other way we would have sea water splashing all over the se way!

I ain't going anywhere near the edge, I might get blown into the Medway!
The fence panel down the bottom of the garden has taken up flying lessons and has managed to get airborne and across next door garden and over the wall!

A couple of new fence panels have been delivered today and it looks like OTL will be helping to install them tomorrow!

Let's hope the wind will have dropped tomorrow or we will get an OTL pretending to be a kite!

OTL says he can sympathise with Aunty Sue and Michael not being able to find the car in Milton Keynes, it’s dangerous getting out of your car. OTL did that once and ended up being chased by some concrete cows!

Mind you, that was a long time ago!

He did once get lost in the car park at Blue Water, well, he didn't get lost, it was the car that got lost and OTL couldn't find it until he went back into M&S and exited through another door!

While we were out walking at lunchtime a Two Legs with a woofer stopped OTL and said that a ferret had been found and had been taken to the local vet and was it ours?

Would we lose Eric like that?

No Never!

Mind you, if the owner can’t be found we reckon OTL might be asked to look after it, well, it’s happened before, remember Twinkle?

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

No Sniffs thank you!

Hello Woofers!

Us back again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret!

Now, I bet you were wondering where we had gone?

Let me tell you!

On Friday we were rushed out for a wee and a poo along the Sea Front, as normal but not normally with such haste!

Instead of retiring to our beds we were shoved into the back of the big car together with a load of craft stuff that The Missus normally takes up the village hall, only, we didn't go to the village hall and instaead we headed off onto the motorway!

It turns out that TM had booked a weekend away at a 'Retreat' where the do a load of glue slapping and glitter flinging!

So, there we were on the way up to Milton Keynes, a place Old Two Legs says he was always confused trying to find an works address when he was on the road as a sales rep.

Well, it didn't look too bad, but then, I wasn't driving and true to his word, he got confussed a couple of times before finding the Coinference Centre!

That was OK, off we went back home and because of the traffic jams on the M1 we didn't get home until late!

That's why we didn't blog on Friday!

Saturday comes and OTL get's a message from TL saying they were being thrown out of the Centre!

Well, says OTL, you shouldn't go on the booze and start making a nuisance in the building, running up and down the corridors and singing rude songs!

TM said she hadn't done that yet, but they were being thrown out 'cos a plane load of people were coming in from China and needed to stay in the hotel for two weeks quarantine to see if they had got that Coronavirus!

Well, we didn't want TM to get any of that stuff, so, off we went, all the way up to Milton Keynes to pick up TM and all her crafting stuff!

By the time we got back home it was just too late to upload a blog 'cos we were just too tired!

In two days we had driven four hundred miles and sat for ages in traffic jams on the motorway, boring or wot?

So, that's what happened yesterday!

Today the storm arrived and we got soaking wet, blown all over the place and got a bit worried 'cos the trees all sounded like a jet engine taking off!

When we got to the sea front, expecting high tide but instead of water up the sea wall, it was still out on the mud flat, the wind had pushed it back out to sea!

In the end we headed back home for a rub down with a Doggy Towel then back under the desck for a well earned snooze!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret!

P.S. We have lost the Spellcheck on this thing, so pleese hexcuss any speeling mistooks!

Sunrise and a Sore Paw!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here!

Well, we were up around our normal time and off down to the Sea Front. Mind you, Old Two Leg had to scrape the ice off the windscreen before we could get going!

We managed to catch a sunrise today!

It started off with the sun hiding below the horizon, so, we started of with the Bench & Poo Bin!

Wot a Classic Shot!
By the time we got to the sea shore you could tell that the sun wasn't too far away from climbing over the horizon and not a cloud to be seen, which would have been good to add a little of the 'Dramatic Effect'!

You can just see the very first bit of the sun!
It only took a few minutes for the sun to fully climb up and a few minutes more and it was just too bright to photograph!

...................and finally a whole sun!
Now, as I said, it was frosty this morning and before we went into the forest, the field was covered with frost. It was good to get off the grass cos that always makes your paws cold!

Frosty!
Talking of paws, Holly was limping a little and OTL reckons it is the bandaging on her paw being a little too tight but after removing it and after a half an hour she was all back to normal and bouncing along!

We had to put some more medication on her wart and with OTL being as careful as he can be, Holly now has a re bandaged leg and is walking as per normal!

Now all we have to do is get rid of that wart and OTL thinks that it may be a 'Knife Job' in the end!

Bang goes the savings, again!

Lunchtime OTL had a good look at the wart and it looks like the bandaging stuff is rubbing on the wart making it look sore. So, what to do.

OTL has an idea!

Instead of trying to cover up the wart and stop Holly from licking it, why not make it difficult for her to get to it?

So, back to the vet and after spending loads of dosh we are now at this stage.......I wonder if it will work?

Not Happy, Not no how Happy in fact I'm showing off, Big Time, the one thing I'm not is Happy!
I think that Holly has gone off OTL!

Still she will get a respite 'cos the collar will be removed so she can have a drink and a bite to eat, but afterwards, it goes back on!

I'm not laughing, honest!

Hey, before we go, on the way back to the car park we spotted another Rock!

I normally eat spiders but I don't fancy that one!
Well, that's it for today, I'm off to get some food and then I think I will stand in front of Holly and lick my lips!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret!

Two More Rocks seen!

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here!

Old Two Legs woke up on time this morning, snorted, rolled over and went back to sleep for an hour!

Now I didn't mind 'cos that means I get to spend a little more time under the duvet finishing off my nights sleep!

We took the camera with us but there was just too much cloud over Sheerness.

OK, where are the red bits?
In fact there was more red sky over Southend and that is North of us!!

Could it be the Northern Lights?
There was just a little glow as we headed off towards the car park but nothing to get too excited about!

No, you are too late, try again tomorrow!
There was a new Rock jammed into the tree on the way back, it looked a bit like someone was trying to throw a cat off the cliff but Holly said it was from the film called The Lion King!

She is clever like that but I still reckon trying to make cats fly is more fun!

OK Son, On My Head!
Down on the bench where we found the Long Necked White Duck Rock was another one. A sort of white haired Two Legs with glasses. I thought it was The Missus but it is difficult to tell with no legs!

Someones pinched my legs, I can't stand up!
The only question is, will it still be there at lunchtime?

And the answer to that question is.....no!

Both the Cat throwing Rock and a Legless TM were gone, I suppose they have been re-hidden by someone!

I was walking along the sea front and there in the distance I spotted a big hairy German Shepherd lolloping along and it looked enormous!

That was it, I ran up to the top path and didn't come down until it was miles away!

I'm too small to have an argument with a GSD!

Back to work guarding the house but we don't have any roofers crawling all over the house, that would be fun to woof at them all day!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret!

Too Late for a Sunrise!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret!

Now that it is February it seems like everything is starting to get going. This morning we were an hour late in getting up and by the time we got down to the Sea Front, the sun had got up and was warming the trees!

Old Two Legs brought his camera and managed to get a shot with the sun hiding behind the tree.

So, this shot is Bench, Poo Bin and Tree!
We were just a bit too late!
We noticed that OTL had grown a couple of inches, or should that be feet or even yards, well according to his shadow anyway!
A Long OTL
Being a bit late, we met up with young Barney, he's the one who loves ferrets and enjoys a butt sniff whenever he meets them!
Barny sez Hello!
As we headed towards the car, OTL got the flash out for the camera and brightened up the Hawthorne Blooms.

Pity he didn't get the focus sharp!
Just look at those blooms!
It has been noticed that Holly has been licking and worrying a wart on her leg, just above her dew claw, so, ring ring Miss Vet and  make sure OTL has his wallet in his pocket!

OTL thought it looked like a wart and the vet confirmed it but as Holly was licking and nibbling it the vet decided a two week course of Betafuse should do the trick. Looking at the box, it says that Betafuse is a dermatological gel with antibacterial (fusidic acid) and anti-inflammatory (betamethasone)!

It also said that you must not lick it, nibble it or drive and motor vehicle, that being so, Holly decided the only thing she can do is have a snooze!
Holly with her sore paw!
Lunchtime it looked rather  gloomy up in the sky, so we didn't hang around and instead headed back home for some more therapeutic snoozing!
Gloomy but Atmospheric!
We didn't meet anyone on the lunchtime walk which didn't please Holly too much, she had no one to show her bandaged paw to!
Sometimes it just seems like a long way when there's no one to meet!.
OTL has been crying all afternoon cos he has just found the receipt for the visit and  medication.

He is a bit of a cry baby sometimes!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret!

Another one of those Ferret Days!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here!

Wot a Grey Old Day it's been, we thought we would have got some sunshine this morning but missed out! Just grey skies and a muddy foreshore!

Not the most inspiring!
When we got home the ferrets were hammering on the cage waiting to get out and of course, as soon as Holly and I were locked in the bedroom they were running around and banging on the bedroom door!

Miss Wendy had to pickle in her and was bouncing off Eric in her 'Invatation' to play a game of chase!

It's funny to see her do that, she rushes up to his shoulder, bumps into him then backs off, rolls over onto her back, rolls right over, gets up and runs under the sofa or one of the chairs!

All the time Eric is trying to grab her but somehow never succeeds!

So it goes on with the pair chasing each other all over the house!

Lunchtime Old Two Legs took his camera out with him and photographed the Hawthorne Blossom we spotted the other day. From just a couple of blooms, today the flowers were all over the tree, yep! Spring is Here!

Just look at that lot!
There were a couple of boxes to be dropped off at the carrier so Holly and I had a long drive down to town and we had fun woofing at the woofers we see walking along the side of the road!

Let's hope the weather picks up and we get a sunrise tomorrow, claws crossed!

Bye bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

.................and didn't it rain!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here!

Dunno what it was like your end of the world but today when we headed off for our morning stroll along the beach. All the roads had enormous great puddles in them from one kerb, across the road to the other kerb!

In fact there were puddles where we had never seen puddles before!

Lucky for us, by the time we left home the rain had stopped but there were puddles and muddy bits all the way along the walk!

Back home it has been a lazy Sunday, the ferrets came out for a rampage then decided that a warm blanket in Old Two Legs office was the best place to be while OTL did his cage cleaning chores!

In the end, after hiding some chicken strips they headed for bed and their morning snooze.

I've never know an animal to sleep as much as a ferret!

I do hate it when they hide the chews under places I can't get, most frustrating and we have to get OTL to get flat on the floor and stick his arm under the furniture to get the chews!

Lunchtime, the ferrets decided to stay in bed rather than come for a walk.

For the second day the weather is quite mild, a little windy but most enjoyable and Holly found another rock that was left on one of the benches. It took a little while to work out what it was but when we looked and rotated it suddenly the picture was obvious!

White Long Necked Ducks!
Holly does come up with some strange ideas!

Mind you, leaving the rock on a bench will mean that it will disappear before tomorrow arrives!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

I'm just a Sleepy Woofer!

Hi Woofers!

It's us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

Last night Old Two Legs stayed up later than normal 'cos he watched two DVDs instead of the normal one!

That means, The Missus goes to be ad early 'cos she has to get up the hall tomorrow to get the tables set out for the Glue & Glitter Gang, OTL goes to bed late and us woofers get stuck in the middle!

OTL fell out of bed at the normal time but I didn't. Like I was tired, in fact I was 'Dog Tired' in fact I was Seriously Woofer Tired'!

I stuck my head under the duvet and went back to sleep!

When it came to that time when I get up to have my harness put on ready for a walk, I was still fast asleep, 'Dog Tired'!

You know, it took a whole ten minutes for OTL to get me up and dressed!

I think I will try that again tomorrow, a little extra snooze time is always welcome!

As normal, it was still dark when we went for a walk but by the time we had finished the walk we could see it was getting brighter, Spring is on it's way!

Back home we decided to finish off our snooze, both Holly and I fell asleep under the desk on our cushions.

I do enjoy a morning snooze!

Lunchtime the sun was out and the wind had dropped, so, for the first time this year OTL left his big coat at home and wore the light fleece thingy wottist!

A  sure sign that Spring is coming!
When he has the camera with him, OTL likes to try to get a shot of us running together. Now Holly is a bit of a pickle 'cos she will turn her head away or run past him as fast as she can go so that all he gets is a doggy blur!

Today he tried to get a shot but this time increased the shutter speed up to 1/500 sec!

Still not fast enough!
Before he could check and adjust the speed up some more, I came through like a Greyhound!

Better luck next time!
Back home both Eric and Wendy were rattling the cage 'cos they had sniffed the Chicken Strips  and the Ferretone!

Just for a change, Wendy was first out of the cage and straight into the Ferretone and while Eric was trying to lick the last out of the bottle cap, Wendy grabbed a Chicken Strip and headed back into the cage and under the blanket where she sat and chewed away until it had all gone!

Eric also grabbed a Chicken strip and headed up to the bed at the top of the cage and sat in there munching away, leaving not even a crumb!

OTL says that if the weather is like today, he may take the ferrets out for a run along the beach for a dig in the sand!

We are off to see what is for dinner, or what OTL is having and what we can pinch!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret!
